Sorry for the double post, but this update is definitely worth it.
The Rayman 1 soundtrack has just been updated. Check RayTunes to see the marvel. Here's a list of everything that's new:

• FLAC soundtrack available in a zip file
• MP3 tracks (256kbps) available individually
• New "PS1" tracks that contain ripped (not recorded) versions of all of the PS1-exclusive music, even including the music you didn't know about And it's all perfectly loopable (or at least the original WAV files were)!
• New "Movie" tracks that contain audio from the FMVs in the Playstation version of Rayman 1
• New track, "55 - Extra ~ Drums of the Enemy", which was featured in the PC version of Rayman Gold.
• Correct naming of the tracks, with a little help from the filenames on the disc (original filenames are kept in the "comment" tag of the MP3 and FLAC files)
• Correct artist (not "Ubisoft Music" this time - now it's "Rémi Gazel & VA")
• Better order of the tracks
• 8 list items to look better than 7.

Yep - EVERYTHING is better. I'm... kinda proud of myself, lol

The Rayman 2 soundtrack is coming soon. It could be Infernus' version or a better quality version of Synthesis' if he replies or if I find the time to re-rip it myself.

Rémi Gazel wasn’t the lead composer – the credits indicate that a team of fifteen led by Stephane Bellanger and Didier Lord were. Gazel’s comment on this site was rather vague (what exactly does the soundtrack’s ‘quasi entire’ mean?), so we shouldn’t make any huge assumptions based on it. As far as I can tell, Gazel seems to have composed the Magician’s theme, the Candy Château clown music and probably a few others. I think the artist credited in the file tags should be ‘Stephane Bellanger, Didier Lord & VA’.

I get your point, but I did some research on that, and it turns out Stéphane Bellanger and Didier Lord probably didn't compose anything in the Rayman soundtrack.
Logically, the composer of the tracks should be credited in both the original and the jaguar versions of the game (since that uses a lot of the same tunes), right?
If you look at the Jaguar credits and the PC credits, you can already remove some names from the list of possible composers.

Now, the lead music and sound effects people for the Jaguar version are indeed Stephane Bellanger & Didier Lord.
Still, Didier Lord seems to do stuff like managing and music licensing (look at the other things he's credited for on mobygames). Stephane Bellanger does music programming, sound effects and all that. He's just a programmer. Same for Olivier Amiaud.
Rémi Gazel is a composer. Same for Nathalie Drouet, Frédéric Louvre (maybe, can't find any info about him), Frédéric Prados, and Olaf Zalcman, who all appear in the credits for both versions and are composers. That's why it's Rémi Gazel & VA.

Also, in correct English "I composed the quasi entire of the Rayman soundtrack" means "I composed almost the whole Rayman soundtrack", if that's what you were wondering.

You make good points, and I just realised that the music/sound effects team are credited in the alphabetical order of their surnames, which explains why the primary composer was not given top billing.

This isn’t really relevant to the tags, but I don’t think we can conclude that Sylvain-Luc Brunet, Dominique Dumont, Kamel Founas, Didier Leglise, Jean-Marc Lichtmann, Olivier Mortier, Stéphane Ronse and René De Wael did not compose any tracks based solely on the fact that their names do not appear in the credits of the Jaguar version. While it’s likely that some of them worked only on sound effects, some may have composed music that is only present in the disc versions. I seem to remember the Jaguar version having some unique tracks but lacking others.

Ahem. Not to sound rude, or whatever, but in case of old Sega games, it was quite typical that the sound programmer was also the arranger (?) - and arrangement is a thing that should not be missed. So in case of basically every not-CD track, it may be happening here.

True, but seeing as they didn't compose the majority of the tracks, I can't really credit them all...
I might try to contact some of those people in French (starting with Rémi Gazel - he'll probably reply seeing as he made the effort to post here) to ask them if they composed any tracks for Rayman 1, and if so, which ones.

By the way, I named that "Rayman's theme" because it vaguely resembles Rayman's theme in R2, and it sounds similar to Bad Rayman's theme, but unlike that track, it's loaded for the whole game and not only for one world. It's also the first track that is loaded, even before "Yeah!", "Betilla talking" and "Victory" - so it must be quite important.

I know that. While Rémi Gazel and the other composers probably also arranged their music for the PC and console versions of the game, it's highly unlikely that they arranged their stuff for the Jaguar version as well. This is probably where the sound programmers credited for the Jaguar version come in. Still, I'm mainly crediting the composer in my rips, seeing as that's what's most important, and I can't credit all of them. Still, the "& VA" should do the job.

Alone in the Dark wasn't a reference, really. A lot of things are called that. It's just a nice name, I guess.
The "cake is a lie" joke was done because I had to find a good name for something originally called "GATGATO" with "GAT" standing for "Candy Chateau" and "GATO" for "cake".
Also, you missed "Night on Blue Mountain" which is a reference to the famous composition "Night on Bare Mountain". Those references are just for fun.
You can still rename them if you want other titles, but I think other people might like it.

Anyway, next up is Rayman 2. Infernus reuploaded his version, but there seem to be some mistakes in it, so I'll re-rip it.
EDIT -> While I'm at it, I'm also ripping the Rayman Arena soundtrack. There's good and bad news for that. The bad news is that it's very chaotic so this might take more time than the R1 soundtrack. The good news? Well - there are A LOT of new tracks. More than we know of from the game, I think.
