Oh that one! :D I hope they release the music that was in the trailer as a track too. Or I hope it can get ripped as just a track. (without all the sound effects)
a.k.a. this music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvhwWXF-LfU&t=0m55s

Yeah, though I find that one not that... um... interesting for me, but that's just a matter of taste in music :oops2:
And what did you think of Moskito's theme in Rayman? I mean not Bzzit, but the second Moskito.
It's one of my favorite things and it would be a dream come true to see... er, HEAR a remix or something in Origins :3

I know this would be at the bottom of the to do list, but what about adding the R2 GBC music? I know that the songs are taken from the R1 version and has several extra beeps and boops to it. Although there is an extra couple of songs that aren't in the first version. Like the Cave of Bad Dreams, for example? So would those couple of extra songs be added or would the whole soundtrack be ripped and added?

I am not sure about this. As long as I remember all the songs were taken directly from R1, some were even repeating.

I think the R2 GBC music has already been ripped and posted somewhere on this forum. Not sure though...
Anyway, you all probably noticed I haven't released anything in a while. That's mainly because I've been gone a lot lately and don't have much time. :/
Also, I've been stuck for a while because of the Rayman Revolution soundtrack, which I'll be releasing alongside the new Rayman 2 soundtrack (to leave you a choice between the PC version's extra audio and the PS2 version's better quality and some extra tracks).
There's something else though. While the PSOne version has less tracks than the other versions, the audio quality is actually better! Instead of 22050Hz, it has both 44100Hz and 37800Hz audio. Should I rip this as well?

Isn't the PS2 audio 44100Hz then? Interesting and a little silly.
If it doesn't take too long to rip them then sure. I hope that tracks like 'Riding the Lava' will actually be complete.
I love the Rayman 2 soundtrack. Rayman 2 is pretty much my top favourite game of all time (mainly because I played it a lot during my childhood).
Rayman 3 is awesome too but not as enchanting as Rayman 2 was for me. I love 'Exiting the Bog of Murk' because of it's epic fantasy feel though and many other R3 tracks like the Hoodlum Quarters music. It had a very different style. Gotta love the first Reflux boss fight music. Actually wish there was a better rip on RayTunes. One that was slightly edited so that the cues don't change all of a sudden due to the player who ripped it triggering events during the boss fight.

Anyway, hoping to see the new R2 tracks uploaded soon and the Rayman M additions. :D

The PS2 audio is 22050Hz just like the PC version, but it's still slightly better quality (maybe the PC version's audio was in a lossy format before being converted to ADPCM). The PSOne audio is definitely the best quality though, and I'll probably rip it too since it's not that much work.
As for the Rayman 3 soundtrack, I could redo it (it's a lot easier now and I'm better at it than a few years ago), but I want to finish the rest first :)

Feel free to take all the time you need. XD
They're just minor issues so. :)
I still find it funny how the PSOne version has 44100Hz audio. :p

:boon: I know right?

And Drooldrip, do you by any chance know whether or not the Rayman 3 soundtrack is processing it's sequenced music live or not? I'm not even sure if the GC supports MIDI playback, but I remember using Dolphin to emulate Super Mario Sunshine and having odd slowdown (about 1/3 the original speed) problems (obviously not to do with my PC's power). The music slowed down too, but it didn't sound all choppy and stringy, I heard each sustained note and every single plucked note in each area as if it were a slowed down MIDI file. You can't explain that! Actually I'm sure you can. Do you know if Rayman 3 is also like this?

Rayman 3 is "pre-rendered" music so not MIDI-like. Other gamecube games like Super Mario Sunshine and Zelda games use MIDI-like music like you said :)
There are only a few Rayman games that use MIDI-like music. Those are the GBC, GBA, and N64 games, Rayman DS, Rayman PSX (for the PSX-exclusive tunes) and the mobile phone games. It'd be really nice if I could make a MIDI soundtrack out of those somehow, but I doubt it's possible...

Now this has probably been asked before, but is it possible, even if you yourself don't know how, to rip the MIDI data from Rayman 2 N64? I don't care about samples (although they would be nice), just the plain MIDI data. I really don't think it would be that complex, but by no means would that mean it's easy!

Well, it is not exactly MIDI data. It is presumed to work similarly, but even if it would come out quite similar, you would need to map samples to some MIDI instruments. MOD-alike data sounds easier to obtain but still I have no idea how to do that.

Quick question: should I include Rayman Revolution's ambients (the sounds you hear when you revisit a level) in the soundtrack? They're each 30 seconds long. I could make them separate tracks or join them all together if you want. I have them, but they're not really nice to listen to and I doubt anyone will - so I wonder if I should do it or not...
By the way, the complete Rayman 2 soundtrack will take another week at the most. Sorry for keeping you waiting. :D
