Re: Which internet browser?
Google Chrome. I use it more than Firefox. But Firefox is still good though.

Re: Which internet browser?
Methinks it's time to update the poll. Here's the old one:
At the moment, I mostly use qutebrowser, with the QtWebKit backend. On my phone I use IceCatMobile, which is basically the same as Firefox Mobile, but based on an Extended-Support version and available on F-Droid. I also sometimes use Firefox on the desktop if there's a site that doesn't work properly on qutebrowser.

Re: Which internet browser?
I'm currently using Opera. I switched to it when Firefox was using way too much CPU before releasing their Quantum version. As for now I don't feel the need to switch back to FF

Thanks to R4Y_ANC3L for the sig :-)

Re: Which internet browser?
It's hard to believe that a few years ago, IE completely ruled the roost, and browsers like Firefox and Chrome were a surprise. I still remember my surprise when I first saw Firefox. This thing could browse the internet like IE? Insanity.
And yet, here we are now, with Chrome having completely demolished all the others, and IE being replaced with Edge.

Re: Which internet browser?
FireFox is the most popular here? I would've understood if that were the case maybe five years ago, but it's just lagging behind now. It's an old browser and has begun to succumb to its age in the same way IE has, whether that's due to stubborn executives refusing new technology or the unavoidable fact that Chrome is powered by the leaders of the young, innovative technological workforce.

Re: Which internet browser?
I'm a Chrome user myself, though I have heard good things about Firefox's new version, called Quantum. Apparently they stripped it back and worked from basics.

Re: Which internet browser?
Chrome isn't the best is the worst in terms of privacy. I used it years ago before realising how much of our data they send to their own servers

Thanks to R4Y_ANC3L for the sig :-)

Re: Which internet browser?
I'm not sure why people care so much. Sure, there are a few here and there who've had it unjustly used against them, but this actually affects next to no one and the amount it's allowed their algorithms to blossom is unbelievable, in a way that benefits all of us greatly.
That says nothing for where privacy might go in the future, but as it is, after having thoroughly researched and understood and agreed with things like Snowden's pleas, I still think people blow it pretty far out of proportion, which is evident seeing how rarely people are able to explain why it's bad beyond simply not liking the idea of some of their information being sent out, regardless of what that entails, who's seeing it or how it's being used.

I use FireFox, of course! I can see FireFox is the most popular here, and that's understandable; it's absolutely not lagging behind or anything. It's a fresh browser and at least it hasn't begun to succumb to its age in the same way IE has, probably thanks to the young, innovative executives accepting new technology or the unavoidable fact that Chrome is... hehe... "powered" by stubborn workforce.

Re: Which internet browser?
Welle I didn't know about Quantum until Master just mentioned it, but I'd almost consider that a new browser. "FireFox" is definitely outdated in too many ways.

Strange, it's as if I was voicing my actual opinion instead of rewording yours! B)

At the risk of sounding a little inappropriate, I forgot how much I missed your flair in these sort of discussions, Rulez. It's nice to have you around again!
As for browsers, I'm a Chromer. I did dabble with Firefox for a bit when I first tested the waters outside of IE, but I liked Chrome's customisability and speed better. I've kinda gotten attached to it, even if there are a few things they've done which I'm now wholly keen on. (Looking at you, lack of backspace backing. Though an extension sorted that out)

Not to go off-topic, but just quickly noting - aw, you're too kind, man! I know I've been reaaally on and off lately, but hey, I think I'm here to stay for now...!Master wrote:At the risk of sounding a little inappropriate, I forgot how much I missed your flair in these sort of discussions, Rulez. And on a serious note, well, I do use FireFox and that's a bit of a habit, really. I realise Chrome is better, and I used it sometimes, but I couldn't get used to it for some reason, dunno. I mean, when it gets bad, I'll definitely hop over, lol, but I'm good for now. I guess FireFox is a good metaphor for my mediocre equipment, hue.
Re: Which internet browser?
Been using Chrome for quite sometime but have recently switched completely to the new Firefox, which seems to work fantastically to me.
Re: Which internet browser?
@Firefox privacy: yhes, it makes no sense for any regular person to be concerned about their privacy going away, the only reason people should care is for the rare activists who do get screwed over by the system. It's also completely pointless, since most people are probably using that Firefox browser to Google search YouTube videos on their Android phones, so it's not like Google really gets barred off from you in any way.
If anyone really wants to take their privacy seriously then do it with voting, opposing government data collection is one of the make-or-break issues for me when it comes to voting a candidate.

Re: Which internet browser?
Bump.
Personally, I'm in between Chrome and Firefox. That's all. I hardly have used IE in years, just was no good for me.

I ought to mention that Safari's not too bad, but it has a bad habit of refreshing on me often when I'm not looking. That's why I have Google Chrome on my phone too.

Re: Which internet browser?
Firefox is very serviceable to me. Haven't had any problems with it other than it not loading the RayTunes BBcode (until it was fixed later on), so I'll keep using it.
