yes but I for one haven't textured a thing in my life.Anyone here up for taking care of UV Unwrap and texturing? I like the fact that you guys are making Rayman games. However I see very clear issue about selling them(That's to Rayfan). Also I have objections to both of your projects but still admire you. I am mainly unhappy that you concentrate on Rayman 1 and 3 whereas I love Rayman 2.

Goodie! Check out the progress in this thread and when I'm done I'll upload my model somewhere and post a link. My higher aim is to remake all of the characters from Rayman 2.

Actually my ROTD's gameplay is very based off of Rayman 2's. It doesn't have much connection to 3.
Anyway, I love your work so far. The only technical advise I could offer at the moment is to make the eyes a little bigger, and other than that, keep up the good work!

In your case I was thinking more like Rayman 1(Dark Rayman, Mr. Dark, Band land). I'm glad you like the model, however I experimented with eyes these seem to be the most suitable.

It looks like a claymodel from chicken run
It's not bad at all! Better than that I could do with actual clay

More like Wallace & Gromit but you're so right!

Same makers, though - well, same studios (Aardman).

So do I, and that's why my game will be a lot like 2, but also very different and original in other ways.

Yeah... just wait for me to announce it, which I'll do once I've got my progress to a decent state.

Maybe you're a UDK user? then I'd be up to help. No matter the state.

I'm probably not since I don't know what UDK stands for...

But I have still no idea what to program the game in or anything like that, so my mind is still flexible one way or the other.

Have you got any technical skills in making a game? Or you just have some plot in your head?

Well, I have no experience with 3D games, but I've one time tried C# - didn't get very far though since I was only 8 years old.

I do have
some programming experience though since I've used Game Maker quite a lot, so I know how bugs can be solved, prevented or found. I could also get help from my dad, who is a freelance programmer in almost all languages - if he doesn't know the language, he learns it. I have once tried Actionscript (Flash), but couldn't handle the way of coding in it and gave up after a few hours of stumbling.
Also, I can draw quite well and I already have 1/3 of the actual gameplay planned out, as well as extra features. I have concept art for a lot of things too, but not locations. I currently have near to 80 sounds in my library of 'concept music' for the game, though some of them are better versions of or variations on other sounds in the same library.
So to sum up, I've not got 'just a plot' in my head, it's a little more detailed than that, but I don't have any real experience, if that's what you're getting at.

I suggest you google UDK. I am eager to help with game which will bring me back to Rayman Universe. My xfire: pusianka, Skype: Piotr NOTURBUSINESS. If you could PM with some of your artworks and so on, that would be nice

.

Hmm... I'd have to get the ol' scanner out. Though I can probably sketch up something on my drawing pad more easily. Also, after the UbiSoft contest has ended and the results have been posted, I will give you a link to what I'm going to submit - that should give you a better indication of what I can do; my sketches aren't exactly aimed at anyone but me, so they don't show off my full potential.
Googling UDK now...
EDIT:
Googled.
Right, it looks good, but I also have CryEngine 3 and although I have absolutely no idea how to implement it as an engine yet, I think that if Crysis was made with it, it should be quite good.
HOWEVER
I think me and my dad are going to set up our own engine, which we have meant to start doing for a long time already.

CryEngine requires a good computer while UDK is well optimised and FPS saving and I already grasped a bit of its potential aaaaand its totally free. Setting up new engine will be real time consumer... think of it.

I noticed CryEngine doesn't actually run that well on my PC... lol, it crashes when I get too close to the landscape. XD
Yeah, not that good of an option... haha. Well, if I knew a bit more about UDK - for example, if I knew one of the games that uses it, I could know more about the decision I have to make. But my dad and me have wanted to create an engine for a long time, and, though it is time consuming indeed, it would be a fun project to do and a personally created engine has more freedom than whatever other engine anyone else could give us. As I'm talking about it, it's starting to look like the only 'correct' alternative. Though I am still open to whatever suggestions anyone has - nevermind that though, this discussion will arise when I post a topic about my game.
Back to what this topic was actually made for (lol) - your model looks quite good, though the nose needs to go up a little more, it needs a bit of curving upwards. Nice modelling!
