Fifteenth edition of the posts in a day record

Pirate-Community is organising its fifteenth edition of the posts in a day record. For those who aren't familiar with the rules, this is how it works:
Hunchman801 wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2009 8:20 pm Each year since 2006, we organise a posts in a day record at PC. The whole thing is quite simple: it consists in posting the most possible messages in a predetermined time span of 24 hours. The goal is not only to break a new record every year or bring more activity to the forums, but also to shuffle our topics in order to bring new discussions for the following year.

This is not a spam contest, and useless messages are obviously not welcome. However, the special conditions during the record day will be the cause of a certain leniency, especially as concerns old topics, which can be bumped freely.
The current record stands at an insane 32252 posts. Can we do better this year? That's up to you!

The rewards rise to the occasion: each post is worth 15 Tings within the given time span, and then come the bonus Tings: 1500 for participating, 1500 for beating one's previous posts in a day record, and 3000 Tings for the winner. For example, a couple years ago someone earned the incredible amount of 84690 Tings that day.

As for the date, I think a Saturday in late August/early September might be ideal at this stage, but I'd like to hear other members thoughts as to when they would be available before we decide. :)

Yeah, a Saturday or Sunday within August sounds great for me.

If possible, please specify the timezone that we're using for this (for people that live in other countries).

It usually starts at 10PM UTC and runs for 24 hours, though for the past couple of years it was moved to 9PM UTC.

I guess if we're narrowing it down to late August, the best way to go from here is to ask if anyone will be busy on the 22nd or 29th?

As of now I should be available for both!

Some sites use a bar with text that pops out in the top of the screen (only visible for registered users), could that be implemented here? That could help to increase the visibility of some messages.

I should be able to make it again like last year on either of those days. :)

Is Matyuv going to create a topic for bets this year?

If Matyuv doesn't show up to do it, one of us will.

Well, it looks like both dates are okay for everyone. Anybody has a preference before we pick one?

Maybe the 29th, since we can give more notice if the official decision is made today.

The 29th sounds good then, it would seem a little short to only have a weeks' notice too.

The 22nd I think would work better for me. But I agree that a weeks’ notice would be too short, so I’m all up for the 29th.

I think I can make both also, although I would prefer it being held on the 22nd.

Then maybe we should make it the 22nd despite the short notice? We have to decide today, though!

I am more comfortable for the event to be held on the 22nd. I am unsure as hell about the 29th, it is possible for me to be busy that Saturday.

Also hi everybody. I have been through a lot of shit since July, hours of not being able to sleep due to work, exams, pain, arguments here there with my parents and overhearing arguments between both my parents, depression, not thinking positively about myself, etc.

Because some people want to know how I am doing, I will discuss matters about how I am, my attitudes and thoughts after Record Day is done because to be honest, I want to relax and have a good time with friends and not get upset so much.

To make things interesting for myself, I am aiming for an all-nighter. Since I was training the past couple of days in doing so.

I will see you all on Record Day! I am looking forward to it. I am hoping to be able to participate. :)

Glad to see you back, R4Y! To hell with the short notice, I've set up record day for the 22nd. We'll see where this takes us!
