Rayman Timeline

I was wondering about the Rayman Timeline, so what I got so far is shown below.
Rayman 1 must have been first because... its Rayman 1.
Then Rayman 3 (GBA) must have happened since the Robo-Pirates appear in this game.
Rayman 2 must have happened next since the Robo-Pirate ship was never destroyed in Rayman 3 (GBA). Rayman 3 should happen next since Globox was found in Rayman 2. Rayman Origins would probably happen next since Globox is present. But it also has similarities to Rayman 1 since the electoons and Mr.Dark, so they could have been 2 interpretations of the same series of events. I figure that Rayman Legends and Rayman Fiesta Run would come next, but I have no evidence to back that up
Just like all timelines, this theory has many errors. Since Rayman 3 (GBA) and Rayman 3 both happen at different times, this means that Globox swallowed the dark Lum twice. Plus, when Grand Minimus appears in Rayman 2, he appears in Rayman 3 (GBA), meaning that he would not be in the Fairy Glade in Rayman 2, which also causes problems in Rayman Legends.
HELP MEEEEE! PLEASE
This Rayman Timeline sure is complex

Actually i don't think the games are even connected to each other, just the same characters are used but put in different situations.

I think some games are loosely connected and others are completely separated from the rest.

Rayman 1-3 are definetely connected to each other, they form the main series. Raving Rabbids games most likely not, especially after second one. Rayman Origins and Legends are spinoffs which change main characters personalities and backstories so they are out as well. Dunno about GBA games, you could make a case about Raving Rabbids GBA and Hoodlums Revenge being canon but I doubt Ubisoft even remember them anymore. Would be cool if there were some official comics or even a TV show to deepen the lore.

There is a mention of Mr Dark in Rayman 2's manual; in Rayman 3 Murfy mentions Rayman 2 and the Zombie Chickens which were the result of the Robo-Pirate invasion are still present. I think it is possible to connect some games, but others need their own timeline separated from the rest and can be considered as part of alternative realities created by Polokus.

I'm afraid this would just create more inconsistencies and add to the confusion.

Yeah, I think that's the best way to look at it.

Eh, maybe, but it'd still be cool

What Elite said. I'm still happy to consider Rayman Origins a sequel to Rayman 3, but Ales' identity is confusing.

ROTD fan project would try to connect some of the games, Adsolution wants to hint the Magician's future betrayal (in Origins) in her game.

Oh, that's pretty cool! It's funny to think that ROTD started development before Origins was even a thing though…
It's ironic though, since as far as I know Polokus was originally supposed to be the 3D adaptation of the magician, whereas what ended up happening was that Ales turned against Polokus!

It is said that there are going to be short extra levels where you control the Magician, we'd probably learn his motives in them, they would unlock when you get the highest score in the main level, not sure if it's going to be on every level tho. Also, Ads apparently had an idea of ROTD back in 2003, before Rayman 3 got released. And huh, didn't know about the last thing, it's both weird and interesting

Interesting! It sounds like Magician challenges in Redemption, except they're challenges for the Magician rather than by him!

Yeah, I'm really interested to see how they handle it, a lot of things are going to be inspired by Assassin's Creed, even the combat!

Now there's a franchise I've never gotten into, so I guess it'll be a new experience for me – if the game ever releases and I get my hands on a copy!

Speaking of the timeline, I forget who it was or what they said, but someone made an interesting argument that the Animated Series comes before Rayman 1. I like it! But personally I put it between 2 and 3.
