So i decided to share here another Rayman fanwork i made. And these are chiptune Rayman remixes. Sega Genesis ones to be specific.
I already made them and released them few months ago, but i wasn't happy how they turned out so i decided to completely rework them.
Remixes you are about to hear are reworked versions, and not outdated ones.
PLEASE NOTE: Current Sega Genesis Remixes are not on the actual soundchip. They are remixed using instruments from that soundchip. So they are not limited to only 6 channels. And why that ? Because you can use more instruments than console was intended to use and it's still sounds great, and in some cases even better. However this technique doesn't work quite well for NES.
FUTURE PLANS:
1. Make NES remixes on actual emulated soundchip of it.
2. Make remixes of more Sega Genesis/NES Rayman songs.
3. ???
4. Profit.
Rayman 2
------------------------------------------------- Riding The Shell (Sega Genesis Remix)
Clark's Theme (Sega Genesis Remix)
I will update this as soon as i will make new remix.
EDIT: If you like Undertale, i think it's worth checking out my Youtube channel

These are really good, nice work! I like the Harmony one from Band Land a lot, it's pretty interesting hearing them with Mega Drive/Genesis soundfonts. The part near the end of the Mr. Dark theme also reminds me of the sound from Sonic 3 in a level named Sandopolis.

Keep up the good work on the genesis remixes. Not a lot of people are doing it at the moment, so it's good that you're tackling it.

It's something I'd be interested in too, and it's true there aren't many composing chiptune in the Rayman community.

Here's one with the King of the Teenies theme from Rayman 2. I noticed the N64 version has different notes (and they don't sound as good to me personally), so I based it off the original one. I was going by ear but I tried to be as accurate as I could:

It's instantly recognizable, well done!

Thanks. I'm trying to work on the Hoodoo theme next, but it's a bit complicated and I'll need to use expansions for it.
UPDATE:
I finished working on the theme. It uses a very rare expansion though which I'm probably not going to bother working with again, but since the Hoodoo theme has so many channels in it that play at once, I decided to try the expansion just for this one song. I can never imagine a real NES even sounding like this though.

A great adaptation too! How do those expansions you mentioned work, though?
