Thanks! And yeah, that’s most likely as these changes are so nonsensical.

Version 1.3.3 has been released! It includes new sound effects for some deaths and for an object, as well as fixes and a new subdirectory feature for custom content! You can finally prevent your Custom folder from becoming a mess! :noel:
-Fixed some tile errors
-Fixed some text errors
-Fixed the dino mount being able to walk through nougat blockers
-Fixed the hoplite's shield not disappearing when the hoplite is killdoored
-Fixed being able to hang on blocks if there's water on top of them
-Fixed being able to resize text off-limits with hotkeys
-Fixed getting stuck in the ceiling if standing on a Hand Horn
-Fixed mounts not appearing correctly when reacting with springs
-Added a sound effect to dying from instakill tiles
-Added a sound effect to the liquorice platform when it runs out of gas
-Added a sound effect to drowning in lava
-Made it so Fireboys light up the dark
-Made it so you can hang on no-splash water tiles
-Made it possible to store custom graphics, backgrounds and musics in subdirectories inside the Custom directory
-Made it possible to store custom skins in subdirectiories too
-Made it so the game asks you to pick a specific custom skin when chosen
-Removed Globox
However, I don’t really understand why hanging to no-splash water tiles was a change that needed to be made, but why not I guess...
It also seems Globox is now trying to invade ReDesigner as well. :noel:

By the way, using the UndertaleModTool as suggested by Squiz, I did a bit of digging in Ryemanni’s fangames, and I found some very interesting things (which I’ll share in the corresponding topics), including what may be some clues regarding the final easter egg in Rayman Redemption (which may have something to do with Rayman 2 from what I’m led to believe...), some content that wasn’t removed in older versions, and some unfinished skins that were listed as "WIP" in The Dark Magician’s Reign of Terror (including one extremely similar to the Dark Magician Rayman skin in Redemption).
As for ReDesigner, I haven’t found anything special sadly, aside from plenty of unused sounds and sprites which came from Redemption and a few visuals which haven’t been used (like Mr Dark’s flames, the castle that’s supposed to appear in one Candy Château’s backgrounds, or the True Boss Rush’s final background).
This also allowed me to gain access to some very useful files that will be very handy for me when I finally complete The Spooky RayDungeon (yeah, I still haven’t found the time to finish it a year later... crazy, huh? :oops2: )...
It’s also a way to use some separate background assets, like the arches in Mr Dark’s castle, so you can make your own custom backgrounds using them.

So here’s a package with unused assets I’ve selected and some extra content from ReDesigner and Ryemanni’s other fangames. It contains all of this:
-Noseless Rayman’s head.
-The cake castle.
-Two backgrounds originally used for final bosses.
-The Game Over screen.
-Mr Dark’s Castle arches.
-Puzzle layer from Playtopia’s puzzle sky.
-Mr Dark’s cloud form from the intro, World Maps and the Globox and Ancel easter eggs from Redemption.
-The wall pictures from The Spooky Raymansion 2 and 3.

Major update: Added tons of objects and backgrounds from ReDesigner, Redemption and Redemption Gameplay Demo, for over 320 custom graphics in total!

Strangely enough, Noseless Rayman’s easter egg was kept in ReDesigner’s files but not Globox or Michel Ancel...
I wanted to take stuff from the 1.3.3 update and from The Spooky Raymansion 2, but I kept running into errors whenever I tried to open them with the tool... I did manage to extract most of The Spooky Raymansion 2’s content using another tool, but it was harder to cut each painting as they were already glued to wall textures unlike the sequel, and I also stumbled upon a face I never found in the game... and which is the most cursed thing I have seen in a while. :paranormal:

I've been looking for a clean rip of this for a while since I saw the magazine screenshots, I'd always wanted to use it for my Rayman projects. Was this redrawn by someone and if so who? because it looks really acurate and would love to implement it into a Rayman 1 hack I'm working on.

According to Ryemanni in his third Postmortem video of Redemption, he ripped it from one of the early prototypes’ screenshots and he then blurred it up. Perhaps you should ask him directly.

I’ve just added the things I’ve found to my last Redemption post. I’ve also added a few things Ryemanni has shared on Twitter not so long ago.

Welp, now that a new update has rolled out and there’s the new subdirectory system, I have some more work to do for my GBC project...
Ryemanni has also said on Twitter that it’s going to be the final update (yes, again :hap:), unless more critical bugs are found later. Considering I’m already having major issues related to the new skin system, I think 1.3.4 is gonna happen soon. :noel:

Crap, now I remembering about this trancelate of Rayman name in Russian lang alike "Райман". Not a "Рэйман" how it must be. Dunno why pirates from my Motherland have actually trancelate it like "Райман IV Путешествие Солнечного Света" and ONLY A NAME OF GAME. This "localization" haven't any sence.

The Rayman IV box was added to The Spooky Raymansion 2 as a joke, making you leave the mansion with the "wrong Rayman 4", which is why it’s part of this bundle.



I’ve also just discovered in Redemption that there’s a code related to Rayman ReDesigner that wasn’t found until now! If you enter "REDESIGN", the game will open ReDesigner’s web page, just as if you selected the "Level Editor" option in the main menu.
That means that my theory about an unfound cheat code related to the missing easter egg may be true... :idea:

By the way, am I the only one who is having troubles using custom skins with this update? Most of the time, the game will just keep asking me to pick one again and so it gets stuck in a loop. EDIT: For some reason, using a controller in the menu is what's causing the glitch to happen, it works just fine when using only mouse and keyboard.

The transcription is wrong because they had the wrong pronunciation in the first place. I don't suppose they spoke much English.

Wow, this is very interesting. Maybe I must interest not only about a fangame, which I promise myself to complete it 100% after classic game and beat up a Mr. Dark

Dunno why they translate it like "Райман". Alike... It was a times after trancelate from "Бука" ("Buka"), which create a semi-handicraft localization of Rayman 3, where "Рэйман" first appeared. Before it was been only variants alike "Райман" which was appeared in Rayman 1 in translate from "Лисы" ("Foxes") for Playstation 1 port and "Рэймэн" in Rayman 2 from "City" and "Русский Проект" ("Russian Project") for PC.

Maybe they just used a first variant from "Foxes". But if a pirates used it, they must play in Rayman 1 and/or his spin-offs where was "Райман" traslate variant too. Or it's just coincidence. Whatever we just have cursed "Rayman IV" in Russian markets of 2000's years.

Hi everyone, it has been a long time! :mrgreen:

I saw the latest release on Gamejolt, it seems the game is now 1 year old! I just downloaded it a few hours ago and I began to test the newest features. Custom graphics are so great, that was definitly something missing in the game. Let's create and design new maps, there are so much thing we can do with it! I began a few tests, it looks so nice, look how it's possible now to modify water's color in the caves of Skops:

I'll also play all your maps created these last few months, probably I'll need some training to get used to the game again :)
Can't wait to play and create, this latest version looks so fun :P

Update 1: Fixed a track not playing in the GBC version’s section 2 due to an incorrect path.
Update 2: Fixed large-mouthed fishes swimming in the air after jumping.
Update 3: Improved a few things and changed the subdirectories to something more convenient that will be used for every ReDesigned world. You can delete the previous subdirectories as they no longer have a purpose.
Update 4: Improved many things in the World Maps. Now, when you start a level from the World Map, the exit sign will bring you back to it! Sadly, this still cannot be achieved with bonus levels for the Time Attack map.
Update 5: Improved the graphics and added the original graphics so you can pick whichever visuals you like. Download is now lighter and previous graphics are still available here.
Update 6: Improved some minor stuff and updated Ubi Cliff so it's accurate to the original bonus level! You now have 55 seconds to beat it and the bonus screens and portals will show like in other bonus stages!

You can now play every level and bonus from Spellbound Forest (as well as Ubi Cliff and the World Maps) in Rayman ReDesigner! You have the choice between the GBC, Pocket PC and PalmOS versions of this world so you can have whichever graphics, music and level design you prefer!
If you can’t stand the GBC or PPC music (which is very understandable :oops2:), you can deactivate them in the editor or just remove them from the Music folder… You have no idea how much my head hurts after having to replay this so many times to test out every version. :hap:
More music from Rayman GBC and PPC were added to both PalmOS versions as it’ll be boring to have no music like in the originals… But if you really want the pErFeCt extra faithful version, you can find the files with no music further down below in this post. :noel:

The GBC skin is still unfinished, but it has already made a lot of progress. You can download the new prototype below! A bonus greyscale version made very quickly is provided with it so you can blend in with the beautiful lifeless environments of the PalmOS Greyscale version. :hap:
I want to mention again that the skin was made using the one made by ShinyRaichu94 as a base. It’s already very different from the original by now and got some entirely new parts made it for it, but I still want to credit the original.

As you’re able to see, I managed to faithfully recreate even the bonus levels’ mechanics by using the new fairy for the timer (which I’ve tried to time accurately, but it’s not perfect) and Coloured Tings and portals. There are even the screens you usually see when starting these bonuses, or when failing or winning them! :mrgreen:
By the way, the video contains a few mistakes (I forgot to recolour a Ting and there’s a typo in the intro of PalmOS Greyscale version), but they have been fixed for the release.


Whether it’s about the levels or the skin, feedback is very appreciated so I can fix anything that may be wrong (however, keep in mind that some ‘mistakes’ like a few incorrect tiles have been done on purpose as these were present in their respective original versions and the goal is to be as faithful as possible, so make sure to check with Ray1Map before reporting any strange tiles). It’s important, because I have to copy the original GBC level and skin to use them for the three variations I have to make afterwards for each version, so it saves a lot of time to spot any errors in the first version so I don’t have to fix it in all four versions. :oops2:
If anyone has a lot of information about Ubi Cliff and the Pocket PC/PalmOS versions, I’ll gladly hear them as not much is known about them and so I had to improvise a few things.
It’s also the first time that I’m releasing a level with custom graphics and subdirectories, so I need to know if everything is working accordingly. Make sure to merge the Custom folder with your own and not to rename anything.

Here are also separate versions with no custom music, and the original unedited graphics so you can tweak them to your liking (you’ll also have to manually resize them all by making them twice as big as they are so they can fit the game… unless you want to walk on invisible platforms, of course, but that’s your own business :noelnoir:).

By the way, here’s a new thing to know about custom skins in Rayman ReDesigner: you can now rename the files as you like, but do not rename the custom fists as the game is now automatically scanning for them in the same folder when you select a skin (it’s therefore advised to make subdirectories for each custom skin).

It's not constructive feedback at all, but I just wanted to say that it looks really great, and that I'm impressed by the creative ways you found of using ReDesigner mechanics to mimic those specific to Rayman 1 GBC. :bigup:

In case anyone has downloaded the level at the moment it got released, I have released a minor update to fix the custom music not playing in the section 2 of Rayman GBC. It’s because I had made a short and a normal version of the Pirate Cage music playing after Spellbound Forest’s theme (the second one is meant to be used for the future Mediafire release), and I didn’t notice that the path set for the music was for the latter rather than the former (thanks to ReDesigner’s perfect interface which doesn’t let you see the full file path :noel:)… Although I don’t think anyone would really have complained about that considering what most people think of the GBC music. :hap:
If you don’t want to bother downloading it again, you can quickly fix the path yourself by going into GBC’s section 2 in the editor and selecting the proper custom music.
Tell me if anything else is ‘wrong’ since I can’t be sure of everything with the changes made to the game in the latest updates. :confus:


Now that I think about it, I have forgotten to share something else! If you want to send your levels to Ryemanni so he can play them on stream, you can now use this form to submit your levels: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... Q/viewform
However, your levels can only be uploaded to Rayman Redistributor (as you need to indicate the Redistributor code).

Be careful if you plan to stream or publish the level on YouTube / Twitch: the music map1.ogg isn't safe for streaming. I advice to remove it before playing the game in a stream.

The Unused Graphics Pack I’ve released earlier this month has also just received a massive update with tons of new objects, including a lot more from ReDesigner, Redemption and its Gameplay Demo. The bundle now contains over 320 graphics!
I won’t list everything, but among them you can find the following:
-Nearly all parallax parts from backgrounds.
-The Bad Cake’s sprites which are unused in ReDesigner (berries and True Boss Rush version included).
-Door elements to make your own custom doors (the Master Door’s parts from Redemption are included).
-Interesting objects from Redemption like the tutorial sign, the Toontotem or some of the NPCs’ quest items.
-Most boss rooms’ objects and backgrounds available in Redemption, including a few sprites which went unused in ReDesigner.
-The unused sprites from Redemption like the Woodcutter bot’s parts or the bat.
-Objects from the Gameplay Demo, including its full World Map and some unused objects like the original Seed bag.


EDIT: Also updated Rayman GBC ReDesigned to fix the issue with large-mouthed fishes swimming in the air after jumping out of their ponds. So don’t be surprised if you noticed small walls of reactionary collisions around them, it prevents them from going outside of their swimming areas when they jump.

Getting lost was quite fun actually! That really is a nice background, too.

I also played through the GBC level Rayman Saturn made and LOVED IT! I finally got to play Ubi Cliff for once, haha. The way the bonus stages worked was really neat to see too. Really hoping they make the rest of the levels in the future, that'd be awesome. :mryellow:
