I don't know if your intrested but i actually own both Volume 3 and Volume 6 of DEMO DEMO however i don't own a region free playstation so i havent had the chance of playing it just yet.

But wait, this was on PlayStation? It looks just like a Jaguar version! Does that mean they ported the Jaguar engine to PlayStation before scrapping it and writing a new engine? (I feel like I knew this before and have forgotten )

Also, the world map includes the gift as a stop (though I guess you can't actually visit it in the demo). That might explain the strange rumours I heard years ago that the gift could be visited in the Japanese version…

I did not know about the existence of this demo, I have even tried to find a download link to help and also because I was interested to play it too.

This is where you can see that the electoons were supposed to be the "tings" of the game, when you give the bonus magician 10 tings he has an animation where you can see him shuffling electoons in his hand.

I always found it strange too how in every level there is an "always" object called "Rayman's Feet", which uses the feet animation oriantated in the same direction as his handstand. Yet the only place he ended up doing this handstand was the bonus breakout game.

No, this is using the same engine as the final game. It's an earlier version of it though, so the way it end up looking closer resembles the Jaguar version, but the code and data formats are still very close to the final game.

Yeah, the code in the final game which remembers your collected lives and cages also checks for electoons even though they can't be collected anymore.

Interesting how Rayman collects the Electoons one by one. But man, that soundtrack is so terribly unfitting.
