This is a video by Biff Malone of Biff's Gaming videos. Footage of the Rayman beta begins at about 55 minutes and 55 seconds in.
In the footage, Rayman can clearly be seen walking on his hands and attacking with his feet. It also shows him going in the water and the game crashing. What strikes me strange is that it seems to flash up random images of characters of scenes from the game. About the only clear scene shown is one of Mr. Stone standing on a cliff in what appears to be a beta version of Twilight Gulch, with Rayman doing his idle pose near him. It can be seen at 56 minutes, 10 seconds in.

The next image is of the Musician's house, which is strangely barren, missing both Rayman and the Musician's family. (I could be wrong, the quality is terrible.)

The only other two images that flash up before fading to black and looping back to the beta dream forest is another barren NPC landscape, this time of Joe's Restaurant, and a strange image of what appears to be a pc exclusive area of Moskito's Nest. (The one with the old tree trunks that look like sucker plants.
I was not able to get screencaps of those because they flashed up rather unexpectedly and left the screen much quicker than the first two.

As I cannot get an Atari Jaguar emulator to run on my computer period, I have to ask anyone with the beta rom if they have seen these images flash up after they got a crash. This is quite interesting to me, I've never seen a beta version of Rayman running except for on an emulator, so this is pretty cool.
Anywho, has anyone seen this beta running anywhere in public? If the game came out in '95 and this was the demo they were using in '94, they got a lot done in a year. Either that or they just had this demo lying around and decided to use it.

I have a working Atari Jaguar Rayman 1 and its prototype version (thank you Haruka), but the beta ROM won't load for some reason. I have it, t just doesn't work.

This looks very similar to the Jaguar demo version, but I do not remember seeing any flashing images when the game crashes.

This is rather interesting. Judging from the background, it looks like the inside of a tree. And what is that little Livingstone standing on?

That little Livingstone is definitely standing on a Caves of Skops spider. You can tell by the eyes, the antennae and the mandibles.

No prob, everybody. I was pretty freaked out when I saw it. Anywho, I finally got Virtual Jag running, but I too cannot get the demo to work. (It only gives me the red growl screen.) Thanks for getting that last shot, it went by a little too fast for me to get myself.

Bit off topic here, but I noticed that Tall Livingstones in the Jaguar version behave differently than in any other version. If you simply face one, it will do the scared/insane mode. It's completely uneffected by the Grimace. Weird.

Nah I can still see the musician and family as well as Rayman in that third shot. That shot of the inside of the tree is really interesting though, man really wish I attended this event even if it was like 17 years ago now.
