RP: A Shadow Over The Glade

Heya RPC!

This originally sprouted from the 'Leptys Sceptre Quest' thread in the Rayman section of this community, when I suddenly dropped in and turned it into an RPG. Not exactly what I intended to do, but that's what happened.

Anyway, I'll just start the backbone of this story and wait for a reply until the moderators either move the posts from that thread relevant to this one in here, or until I receive confirmation that I will just have to quote them instead. First of all, I will post some rules. Rules are boring, I know, but you could use some guidelines in your RPing and that's what they're here for. Don't take them too seriously, but take them into consideration when posting.

Now, what follows is a massive wall of ranting text I once wrote for another RPG of mine over at the EAUK Spore forum, which will most likely cause you to think I'm crazy. Luckily, I decided to pack that wall of text into a .doc file so it wouldn't litter this page, and decided to upload it ... heawre:
THE RULES
Get them here!

Note on the Character Control thing: I wrote that paragraph with one particular person in mind, someone who likes to f up the story and meddle with everything and everyone with only a few words said. Hence the seemingly strict and cold way it is written. You guys I trust more so leave the Character Control thing for what it is - a guideline; though don't abandon it completely. It's good to still respect another player's characters and what they want to do with them.

THE STORY
So, up until current events, the story is that the Sceptre of the Leptys was lost in some way and since then several rogues have tried to gain possession of it in whatever way possible. Joining in by chance, Shrooblord picks up the Sceptre and makes off with it towards the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava. Some obstacles passed, he reaches the inner sanctum and this is where our story begins.

EDIT II:
The posts are now exactly as they should be - and that's all that. Thanks a lot Xenon! :D

I ran towards a wall, and magically warped through it into the real world. Upon seeing all the chaos caused, I hit restart on the save file and the whole Sceptre-Game was reset. I then jumped back into the game, and erased the magic wall foreva. In front of me I saw the sceptre. I picked it up but discovered that it was covered in a werid gooey sticky stuff. I tried to pull it and as I did the world around me collapsed-- well, it didn't collapse, I just realised that I was being swallowed by Eig. As I slid down deepp into Eig's throat I bid farewell to the world. That was when I spotted the big dangly-thing at the back of Eig's neck (yes I know it's a uvula but "big dangly-thing" sounds better) I immediatley lunged for it and hung on for dear life.

Shrooblord watches a scene in the marshes, quite near the Sanctuary he was heading to in the first place, where Eig is most surprisingly performing a triple-throw-up manoeuvre. Apparently it was beebo as becomes clear at the third spasm, as he is finally flung out and dumped somewhere in the filthy water. The sceptre cycles through the air, Shrooblord raises his claw and grabs it clean out of flight.
"Thanks, mate!" he sais, just before eating the candy he got earlier, then continuing onwards towards the gates of the Sanctuary. He goes in, places some eyeballs to distress those with ophtalamophobia and then quickly hurries towards Foutch's lair. He runs into a pickle when he discovers the Nettles though, so he puts the Sceptre into a crack inbetween two stones and patiently waits for his brain to come up with a solution. Unfortunately, Shrooblord placed the sceptre right on the boundrary of a trap-tile, activating it. Nettles engulf the king from all directions and one of them takes it with him into the Nettles' lair. Somewhere in some remote place in the Glade of Dreams, a Nettle pops out of the ground holding the Sceptre.

Bruised by the taste of defeat and treachory, Shrooblord manages to squirm his way out of the Nettle's grip. He lands somewhere on a sort of altar, resembling a pyramidic structure of some sort. The deity this altar must be devoted to couldn't have been a happy one, for the face has a great big frown on it. Suddenly Shrooblord notices smoke coming from his feet and feels a burning sensation in his toes. As he looks down, he sees he is standing on some sort of flaming crystalised structure attached to the altar ... but this isn't an altar at all ... suddenly he realises that he has found who he was looking for all along: Foutch! Though the introduction of landing on his head hasn't made the first impression of Shrooblord a good one in Foutch's eyes, and soon the king finds himself dodging various walls and rivers of flames.
"If you would --ACK!-- just allow me for one --YEESH!-- minute to explain, --YOW!-- I could offer you a very powerful --WATCH IT!-- alternative to roasting me!" he tried, still running and occassionally getting himself burned.
Foutch stopped and looked at Shrooblord intensely, as if listening.
"Right. Well... phew. Alright," Shrooblord said, recollecting, "If you let me use your sheer power as a weapon--" Foutch snarled and already heaved his one hand to burn the fiendish intruder. "ThenIwouldgiveyouthePoweroftheLeptys!" Shrooblord shrieked very quickly.
Foutch lowered his arm, picked the tiny villain up between his two giant fingers and placed him on his back.
"There. Alright then. Erhem -- Guardian, ONWARDS!"
The flaming monster burst out from under the ground, in a spray of fire, searching for the Sceptre.

Just before Batman makes his escape into the darkness, a large figure rises up from under the ground. Boiling away, the peat just before the hero's feet as well as the stuff around it is starting to get quite hot under the influence of the rising giant, submerging from some underground cavern. Before long, Batman finds himself staring into eyes of pure heat. Hunched up top is a tiny figure in comparisson. It seems to be saying something. With futile efforts, it makes a few hand gestures, but Batman doesn't understand. The figure up top lets out a deep sigh and then reaches for a megaphone somewhere underneath his robes.
"You have three options," Shrooblord's voice booms out of the megaphone, "One, you do not give me the Sceptre and I let Foutch have his way with you. Afterwards, I grab the Sceptre anyway. Two, you hand over that little cane to my big friend here before he turns you into Batterman!"
A sinister laugh followed from the figure on the shoulders of the giant. There was a pause.
"That's two options," Batman replied.
"What?"
"You said 'I'll give you three options'. You gave me two options."
"I see. You have one option."
The giant raises his fist in preporation of a strike, as the floor around Batman becomes so hot it bursts into flames.
"Give me the Sceptre," Shrooblord said in a low, dark tone.

Beebo arrived on his Funkyboard. At an alarming rate. Beebo backflipped off his Funkyboard and watched it melt into the side of Foutch's head. Foutch turned on Beebo and started to growl. "What are you, a dog?" Asked beebo in mockery, telescopising his fist into Foutch's chest. When his fist returned it was smouldering red. 'FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC-----------" Suddenly Batman interrputed him. "Psst, take the sceptre and free me while he's busy, and then pass the sceptre back." Said Batman pointing at Foutch, who was busy getting his nails painted by Shroobland. "Alright." Said beebo, taking the sceptre. "Promise?" Asked Batman. Beebo crossed his fingers. "Promise!" Beebo immediatley fired an energy blast at batman, melting the ground beneath him and bringing the world up to Batman's chest. There he stood, unable to move. Then beebo fired another beam at Foutch, but misjudged his aim. the beam rebounded off some walls and subsequently slicing iHeckler's rope. As iHeckler falls towards the lava beebo yells out: "Sorry!" this grabs the attention of Foutch, who immediatley starts firing fire at beebo's feet. It makes a hole in the floor and beebo falls through it--right into Batman's basement and into his fishing net. The sceptre falls out of his hands and rolls away under a cupboard. "NMFGH!!!"

Notcing what had happened, Shrooblord ordered Foutch to immediately withdraw the fire from Batman's surroundings, getting him out of harm. He also made him split the lava underneath iHeckler and Foutch brought it to the sides of the well it was in. This saved iHeckler from the lava, but made him smack into the ground face-down.
"Sorry!" Shrooblord shouted into the Batcave. He then turned to Batman and continued: "Hey, no hard feelings right? I don't need you dead - I just needed to pressure you to get that sceptre. But it seems my job is a whole lot easier now."
Shrooblord nimbly jumped off Foutch, dropped down the hole and landed without harm. He walked passed beebo in the net casually, brought one of his arms to the net and made it twang. The creature inside looked helplessly at Shrooblord, as if begging not to do what he then proceeded doing. With one flick of the wrist, Shrooblord caused the net to turn and turn and turn, trapping beebo inside. He then dived underneath the closet with his arm and brought out the Sceptre.
"Thanks, chum!" he said, as he whistled for Foutch to bring down his arm into the cave.
The giant's arm entered the cave and he opened the palm of his hand. The fire receeded to the tips of his fingers and to his wrist, so Shrooblord made sure his robes didn't touch these areas when he hopped on.
"See ya later, boys! Thanks for the Sceptre!"
Foutch put Shrooblord back on his shoulders and then thumped the ground heavily with his fist, causing iHeckler to be bounced out of the pit he was in. Then the giant pirouetted in a wall of flames, shrouding him in a mist of smoke. When the clouds had dispersed, the giant and the king were gone. The lava inside the well flushed back into its original state.

Inside the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, Shrooblord was standing next to an altar. He heaved the staff up high as if to offer it to the gods. Then, while chanting, he drove it into Polokus's pillar.
"This is where we part, my friend," he said to Foutch, who looked a bit more frenzied because he was so close to the source of impossible might, "I'll see you again some time. So long!"
The eyes started glowing fiercely and Shrooblord was teleported away. Then Foutch picked the Sceptre up in between his thumb and index finger clumsily and stuck it in between himself and his chest plate, right under his head. That looked pretty, he thought.

As beebo spun around and around he kept getting closer and closer to the pole of the net. Once it was in his grasp, beebo gripped it firmly and pulled it out of the spot where it was stuck. The fishing net landed to the floor with a crash, and beebo climbed out. Beebo then leaped up using his mighty legs, out of the hole and onto Batcave floor. Beebo rushed past Batman and glanced at him, despite what had just happened, he couldn't help smiling at the helplessly enraged figure stuck half-way underground. Beebo reached the ground where Foutch had disappeared and felt the ground. "Hmm...seems they headed to the sanctuary of rock and lava." beebo picked up some of the ashes left behind. "I wonder." He said, inspecting the ashes carefully. Suddenly, beebo threw the ashes at his feet and yelled out: "Sanctuary of Rock and Lava!" Then, only just managing to reach for his flask, he scooped up some more ashes and disappeared.

Beebo reappeared at the Sanctuary, only to find Foutch inspecting his chest, where the sceptre was planted. Beebo used his mighty legs again and leaped onto Foutch's chest. Beebo's legs were so mighty, they didn't feel pain--but his hands did. beebo pulled out the sceptre and heard a terrible cry from Foutch. Beebo started passing the sceptre from hand to hand. "HOT HOT HOT!" After the sceptre cooled down, he leaped off Foutch's chest and narrowly avoided a massive fireball. Using the sceptre, beebo created a sphere of inpenetrable light. He passed harmlessly through the lava encircling the altar and pressed his hands against Polokus's Pillar. "Oh mighty Polokus, guide me to Shroobland." After a moment's hesitation, beebo's sphere of light dispersed, and beebo was teleported inside the shrine of Polokus, a spiritual place that existed not in the material world. Standing next to him, was Shroobland. "hey!" Said beebo. "Hey!" Said Shroobland. "Ok, now seriously bro, don't copy me." Said beebo. "Ok, now seriously bro, don't copy me." Said Shroobland.
"Quit it!" "Quit it!"
"What am I suppsoed to quit, you're the one--hhhheeeeyyyy!!!!" "What am I supposed to quit, you're the one--hhhheeeeyyyy!!!!"
I swear I will never fight you again, and I will be your slave from now on." "You swear you will never fight me again, and you will be my slave from now on."
Beebo smiled triumphantly. "HA! YOU DIDN'T COPY--Hey wait a minute!" Beebo frowned realising what he'd just said. Since this was Shrine of Polokus, no lies could be told, and promises binded them. Beebo was immediatley (and unwillingly) forced to drop to his knees. The sceptre rolled away. Beebo tried to reach for it but he couldn't move a muscle. His lips moved without his mind telling them to. "Oh mighty Shroobland, what is your desire?" Beebo thought quickly. The only way he could be saved was if someone used the sceptre inside the shrine and promised that he should be released. Suddenly beebo remembered the final fireball Foutch had shot. it had just missed him as he teleported, but it had destroyed the only access point into the shrine. Beebo tried to scream 'NO!', but his lips were sealed shut.

after many days, i still couldn't find the sceptre, i returned to Thingamajig Nightshine (that was build again), i walked to the Chamber of Crystals and looked in The Crystal of Truth, where i saw an sceptre, an screaming Beebo and Shrooblord. I hurried to my Castle took my cloak, spelbook and Batman-in-a-Bubble, when i came, the portal was closed, crumbled, destroyd...and i thought: this can be the end of Emperor Fortesque, an even better friend than Mr. Dark (who's living there too, but at the dark side) i need to speak him. "Spirits, back to the castle, the shrine is crumbled and i need to speak Emperor Fortesque

Shrooblord looked at beebo in a confused manner. He didn't know who had been posing as him, using his voice for him and moving his lips for him, but he hadn't been it. Polokus came from behind his pedestal, carrying the Sceptre.
"Quite correct," the Spirit of the World said dreamily, "It wasn't you speaking, but look what I have delivered you now: a slave to do with as you wish."
A devious grin ran across Shrooblord's face. He tried to ask for the Sceptre, but his lips weren't capable of moving. He wanted to walk over to Polokus to accept the cane, for he thought the god had merely picked up the Sceptre to then hand it to him. However, his legs wouldn't move. Clumsily he tried leaning forwards and stretching his arm, resulting in a figure leaning towards Polokus at a forty-five degree angle, with his arms stretched. He had a 'go on, give it to me' expression in his eyes.
"Oh, the Sceptre?" Polokus said as he used one of his long arms to grab hold of the top of the pillar and pull himself up, "No I don't think so. This is for me."
With a look of disgust on his face, Shrooblord leaned back as he realised what had just happened. He wanted to frown and wave his fist at the frog-like creature on the pillar, but suddenly his arms and legs were moving on their own. Right near the end of the cliff, Polokus made him stop and caused him to lean over, looking down into an endless schism of worlds below.
"Goodbye now, Shrooblord," Polokus said amused.
With a helpless flick of the eyes he looked towards beebo. Immediately his newly-acquired slave knew what he meant and he leaped for Polokus with his powerful legs. The god hadn't seen this coming and was pushed off the edge of his pedestal. The Sceptre almost rolled over the edge, but beebo managed to grab it just in time. Shrooblord could move his lips again.
"Quick! Get us out of here!"
"Only if you promise you'll free me," beebo said slyly.
"Consider it done - now go, go go!"
With one move beebo used the Sceptre to transport back to the shrine in the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, just before Polokus made Shrooblord fall down. They transported back on top of the pillar. Shrooblord, still leaning, suddenly met with gravity and smashed into the floor below. He saw Batman standing on the circular floor beneath them, looking for a fight. Foutch came in the great entrance, looking quite upset about the loss of his new necklace and to top it off, Out of the ground behind them rose Jano, sent by Polokus to deal with the pesks that had stolen his Sceptre. Shrooblord quickly got up, pulled the Laser Ray Blaster out of his robe and called to beebo over his shoulder:
"Listen, if you don't want to go up in flames or be turned to beeb-sushi, or be devoured by a one-eyed monster, then we'd better work together here!"
Not waiting for a response, Shrooblord jumped down, shooting fiercely.

Beebo, now freed, strecthed, then remembereing what was happening, beebo stumbled to the sceptre which was planted in theground, pulled it out and used it to bring to him his Super-Duper-Evil-Killing-Is-Fun-Laser and started vaporizing the Mini-Janos that Jano was creating. Beebo looked over his shoulder at Shroobland, who was struggling with a swarm of Mini-Janos. His Laser-Ray Blaster wouldn't last him long. Beebo quickly duplicated his laser and passed it to him. "Here, use this." Beebo smiled evily at the carnage they were about to cause."You take Foutch, I'll deal with Jano." And with that beebo launched himself into the middle of the Mini-Janos, and started blasting them. "They just keep coming and coming!" Yelled Beebo. Blasting like mad, Beebo pushed through the fray until Jano was in sight. Using his mighty legs, Beebo leaped at Jano, landing on his top hat. "GEROFFME!" yelled Jano under Beebo's buttocks. "See ya," said beebo, charging his laser. "Wouldn't wanna be ya!" beebo fired, and as Jano made an angry snarl of defiance, he vanished.

"Thanks!" Shrooblord said as he caught the laser in mid-air, "But no worries, my trusty laser has never failed me before. Hmm... in comparisson to this though, its effect will be quite deminished though. Let's see..."
And with that, he turned the notch on the controlling gauge of his Laser Ray Blaster from 'Harmful' all the way up passed 'Dangerous' and 'Deadly' to 'Waaay Passed F'ed Up'. He grinned, as he held the two lasers right up to Foutch's face. With an expression madder than ever across his face, Foutch heaved his two arms, ready to strike with a tsunami of fire. Shrooblord held his index claws on the triggers of the two guns and charged the laser, Foutch rolled fireballs in the palms of his hands, they looked at each other daringly and then with a snarl--
"STOP!" a figure standing in the door said, hands heaved.
Out of shock, the whole battle stopped. What remaining Mini-Janos were left turned around, Foutch looked back in the most dumbfounded way and Shrooblord released the triggers, stopping the lasers.
"Don't you see what you're doing here can be resolved much more easily?" the mysterious negotiator said. He walked up the ramp, noticing a big fireball blocking his way. Some tribal cries came from behind him, from behind the doorway, and suddenly a raincloud appeared above the fire and extinguished it. The figure moved onwards, towards beebo. With an elegant gesture, he took the Sceptre from his hands. beebo was too astonished by this newcomer's appearance to care otherwise. The mystery man then proceeded to light up the Sceptre with some sort of magic coming from the palms of his hands and then, with a flash, ripped his two hands holding the Sceptre apart, splitting it into two identical copies. He leapt up to the giant and put one inbetween his armour, replacing the necklace, and handed the other one over to beebo.
"Don't worry," he said, "the other one's fake."
Just before he left the room, Shrooblord managed to utter some words:
"Who-- who are you?"
"Some call me a hero," he said, as he stopped walking. He looked over his shoulder. "Some call me hell." He turned his full body towards Shrooblord, throwing down the hood he had on his head. "But I call me Rayman."
"Rayman," Shrooblord repeated softly, as if it was a magical chant.
"GLOBOX TOO!" someone said from behind the doorway. A blue froglike creature ran into the room, almost stumbled over the edge and stared down the void beneath, then ran up to Shrooblord to shake his hand. "Globox here too."
Foutch was quite content with having his necklace back and couldn't care less about the company he was in, so he silently hovered through the archway to protect the entrance of the Sanctuary once more. Just before he left, he turned around and actually said something!
"No forget: lock up!"
Some metal object hit Shrooblord on the back of the head. He looked at the item that had hit him. It resembled a flame with a metal point with several jagged edges.
"The key?" he said surprised. He looked at the object and then shouted suddenly: "Hey! Hey don't eat that!"
Globox had a guilty look on his face. Slowly, he brought his hand into his mouth and pulled out Shrooblord's Laser Ray Blaster, which he had dropped on the floor.
"Sorry. Globox hungry."
"That's quite alright. Just don't do it ag--"
Globox coughed up a luminous sphere. It fell into Shrooblord's claws. He felt an unimanigable energy rush through his whole body.
"What is this?"
"Oh dear," Rayman said, "You weren't supposed to see that. Well, keep it. It's no use to us now."
"What? No, here, take it back."
The orb returned to Shrooblord's hands as soon as it had left them.
"It's no use. Once it attaches itself to someone, it will not leave their side again. Have fun with it!"
Shrooblord managed to pick up some grumbled sentence along the lines of "There goes my eyelasers powerup." but he couldn't be sure if he heard correctly.
"Well," Rayman said conclusively, "time for us to go. See ya!"
"No wait, who is this figure with a great big nose, floating limbs and an elegant pose? Who is this hero, this Rayman, this aubergine, who comes as quick as he goes?"
"Why, I'm the Protector of the Glade, that's who. I'll see you guys around."
And with that, they were gone. They didn't just leave, they disappeared. One moment they were there, the other, they were gone. Shrooblord stared down into the luminous orb that was so energetically and enthusiasticly inspecting him. The little bundle of power then settled itself inside his crown and seemed to doze off. Shrooblord patted it, or thought he did, before turning to beebo, who had now descended from the top of the shrine.
"Thanks for the laser. It will be of good use to me. Now... shall we go?"
"You want to go together?" beebo replied curiously.
"Sure, why not! Besides, it will take more than just me to bring down an evil god prowling on a source of immense power. That reminds me, what did you want to do with that anyway?"

"What, this thing?" Said Beebo, holding the sceptre in the palm of his hand. "Well, I don't wanna make things too easy for us, so I won't be using it much. But I will keep it on me in case we get in a tight spot." Beebo looked up through a crack in the roof of the sanctuary, to see the Sun was just rising. "So, shall we be off then?" Said Beebo, turning back to Shroobie. "Alright then." replied Shroobland. And with that they casually walked to the entrance of the sanctuary, went outside, locked the entrance and continued over the horizon.

As they left the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, it occured to Shrooblord that they had forgotten something. He couldn't say what, but he had the nagging feeling something was still left inside... something important... some...one? Inside the Sanctuary, a lonely cry came from a man in a black suit, left behind inside as if he hadn't been there at all.
"Hello?" Batman called, "Anyone there?"
Shrooblord shrugged and decided it was just a trick of the mind. They walked on towards a castle in the distance, for it looked big and they did not know it and most of all, they had nothing else to do.
"Funny lighting," Shrooblord said, "That mountain over there almost looks pink! Like ... well, pink like a frosted cake."
"Nah," Beebo said, "It can't be."
Something rustled in the bushes. Shrooblord instinctively drew his gun.
"Who's there?" he shouted, "Show yourself!"
The luminous sphere shot out of Shrooblord's crown and hovered in front of his face. It seemed to have a hand pointing towards him with the palm towards his face, though when he blinked and looked again, he saw no such shape to be recognised. The light hovered into the bushes. A high-pitched squeal was heard. The bushes rustled some more, Shrooblord cautiously raised his gun again and got ready to encounter whatever foul creature it was that was in there. The light shot out, carrying something at least three times its own size. It was small and helpless, had floating limbs like the hero they had met just before and had a terrified expression. Its hair was combed back and sat in a ponytail, its body was pink and it had pointy shoes. The light put it down by Shrooblord's feet. The creature didn't even reach his waist in height. Immediately it tried to hurry back into the bushes, but the orb stopped it and made it stay right where it was. Shrooblord put away his gun and lowered himself to the floor to make contact with the little thing.
"Hello. Who are you then? Are you lost?"
The pink creature nodded vigorously.
"Where's your home?"
It pointed somewhere into a valley under the pink mountain. Shrooblord looked at Beebo.
"Shall we bring this poor thing home then?"
Without awaiting a response, the pink creature leapt into Beebo's hair and sat on top of his head, smiling. There was no intention of accepting 'no'.

Well, technically now it's where it started, because Haruka moved our posts here, so, shall we continue where we left off?

IC: Beebo tried to pull the pink-thing out of his hair, but the only thing he achieved from that was riping half-his hair out. Beebo quickly whipped out his "Instant-Hair Regrowth" potion and tipped a drop onto his head, it immediatley sprouted a new head of hair. The pink-thing looked out through the front of his hair. "You really want to go home, don't ya fella?" The pink-thing nodded excitedley. "You know what, I think I'll call you Nodder." Nodder immediatley slipped into his hair again and started biting down on his scalp. "OW! HEY quit it!" Yelled Beebo. "Ok ok what do you want me to call you?" The pink-thing climbed out of Beebo's hair and jumped down to the ground. It scribbled some writing into the ground. "Electoon, eh?" Said Beebo, reading the text. "What do you think, shrooblord?" Asked Beebo, turning to Shrooblord. "As good a name as any." Said Shrooblord. "Now, we really should be off if we want to destroy the evil that claims to be eviller than us." Beebo turned to Shrooblord again. "You do realise that we're carrying a helpless little creature back to it's home, don't you?" Beebo paused, then continued. "It doesn't sound very evil to me." Shrooblord leaned closer. "If there are more of these guys in the mountains, we could make many allies to help us defeat this so called "Evil"." Beebo straightened, relaising the truth in those words. "Well then, we shall be off!" replied Beebo. He anfd Shrooblord marched away towards the pink mountains...

OOC:
I was really surprised to see you had suddenly started this thread and then I realised Haruka had moved the posts from the other thread in front of the one that was intended to be this topic's OP. Lol, no sweat, Haruka - you couldn't have known that. Thanks for the effort of relocating the posts!

Now I just hope MDT comes in here to continue his castle story, as that was my real intention. :P

By the way, Beebs, as I did it too, you might want to remove any off topic parts of the posts that were made before your latest one, so it doesn't look like you're talking to yourself (*grin*).
Also, what creature is your character? What should I call him? I mean, in a sentence like this one: "As by magic, the human appeared." and then substitute the word human for your character's species.

IC:
As Shrooblord, Beebo and the Electoon slowly progress forwards towards the unknown glade, unseen eyes are watching their every move. At one point, Shrooblord gets a shock as he thinks he sees something in the bushes to the left of him. He turns quickly, but sees nothing. As the company comes close to the shores of a river, the little being of white energy descends in front of Shrooblord's face, blinding him. It notifies him of a way across the river, involving lily pads.
"That's very kind of you, ..." he paused, "You know, it's never even occured to me I don't know your name, little friend." To him, it seemed like the orb turned red in anger and was steaming furiously as he heard a word appear in his mind. It was in his own language! It felt harsh and unforgiving, cold and remorseful, psychologically breaking and harsh, especially harsh. Then again, all words in his language were like that. Nevertheless, it was not a nice word. As if nothing had happened, and the others in the company would perceive it exactly as that, he continued his sentence: "... but have you even looked at me? Do I look like that flimsy plant will hold me?" It was almost as if he heard a sigh come from the little orb.
The bright light floated above the lily pad. Curious as to what was going to happen next, Shrooblord felt himself lean forwards. As by magic he was suddenly on top of the lily pad.
"Good idea, Shroob!" he heard Beebo say behind him and seconds later, the creature was beside him.
"How did I--" Shrooblord started. Then all of a sudden he remembered. He had jumped atop that lily pad all by himself. The instant he had seen it, he came up with the idea so he just did it. Still, something in his mind was itching, as if he was trying to remember some sort of doubt he had had just moments before. Beebo was already on the other shore.
"You coming, or are you going to stay there as piranha bait?" he heard Beebo say. He looked into the water. There were nasty little fish in it with pointy little teeth. Immediately he jumped to the other bank. The company walked on, but just then, Shrooblord remembered something. A word that he had thought of earlier. He couln't remember when that was, or if it ever had been, but the word was there, always had been there, surely.
N'r shanda. That one word. It was not a nice word, he knew that. It was cold, lonely, painful - he had abolished the world ever since he fled his homeworld so many years ago. Why had he done that? He couldn't remember. That word, that hateful, despicable, slimy word.
My love.

From the other shore, bright eyes were observing the moving company. They narrowed as a dark voice cursed upon the river in front of it. Then two bony hands rose from under the ground. First one, then the other. The first one lay flat on the floor, as if pushing something up. The second one grabbed a treebranch and pulled. With great effort, a scaly green creature emerged from the ground. It was roundish, with skeleton-like arms that had clawy hands with pointy fingers, it had a terrible mouth that covered half its face with teeth sticking out even when it was closed and it had glowing eyes, bright yellow and red like fire and burnt umber, three at least, in a triangular shape positioned above its big mouth. The creature growled at the river and reached under the ground. Out came a hat, a small and comical hat, maroon in colour with purple stripes and circles all over it. Near the brim and in the centre was a star with an eye inside it, stiched on top. The hideous being put the hat on its head, star facing forwards and growled once again at the body of water. It looked around itself, at the trees going over it and then found one that had fallen down and was lying across the river further ahead. It grinned and with that, raised its mouth right above its eyes, with the bottom row of its teeth almost poking one of them. It then clumsily bounced towards the bridge and crossed it. Then, silently and without being noticed, it bounced forwards and followed the company.

OOC:
It goes without saying this creature is not to be discovered. Still, I need to say it since in my experience with RPGs and Character Control, people tend to mock up your storyline. ... so please don't discover the creature. ;)

OOC: of course, I know only too well how annoying that can be. Also, check The Sceptre Quest- I left a link to my old Warriors RP. Also, I never thought about that! I guess he would be a cross between a Raymanian (Rayman's species), and a furry, oversized vicious wild-cat. Sooo...no arms, and claws instead of hands. Head has a neck, my character sorta has a mane-like fringe of hair around his head, and two pointy teeth stick out of his mouth. Mighty legs he has- they sorta look like buffed-up legs. They're connected too. Technically his claws are almost like regular hands, except for the long-slender claws that portrude from his finger-tips. I haven't thought of a name for my species yet- but that gives you an idea of his appearance. What's your character's species/appearance? Oh I forgot to add, his legs are mighty- but do not make him any taller than you might be.

IC: Beebo and Shrooblord, along with the Electoon and the small ball of light headed through a thicket of bushes and trees. After long, tiring hours, night started to fall. "Shall we set up camp here?" Asked Beebo, unaware of the unseen danger. "Sure!" Said Shrooblord, just as naive. "We should probably find a small clearing though, this spot is too dense with trees. So they continued on, and finally reached a small clearing. By now it was pitch-black. "This seems as good a place as any." Said Beebo. "Alright." Said Shrooblord. "Ah nuts, no beds." Continued Shrooblord. "What do you think I brought this for?" Asked Beebo, pulling a small glass case holding the sceptre out from his jacket. "Excellent!" Replied Shrooblord. Beebo carefully slipped the Sceptre out of it's case, and conjured up two small porta-beds. "This should do." Said Beebo. The Electoon immediatley jumped out of his hair, ran along his arm and snatched the sceptre out of his hands. It then transformed the Porta-beds into two enourmous luxury beds that took up almost all the space in the clearing. The Electoon returned the sceptre into Beebo's hand, and climbed back up into his hair. Beebo plopped himself onto the bed. "Goodnight." Said Beebo, pulling the covers past his shoulders. "Goodnight." Replied Shrooblord, doing the same. And with that, they fell asleep, unkowing of the danger lurking in the bushes just beyond the clearing...

OOC: Well, I left an opening there for you, if you want to use it go ahead, if not, go ahead. I left it so you have a choice.

Alright then. Interesting. Now, first I will appologise for not posting for ten days - fact is I haven't even been on the RPC, no, not even the computer in ten days. You know what it's like; exams, bad grades, angry self, workingworkingworking to get those grades back up, etc. etc.

Anyway, Shrooblord, as you might have guessed, is the king of the race of Shroobs, vile aliens looking like purple mushrooms with not blood but hate and bloodlust running through their veins. They have no mercy, they have no compassion. Their leaders, however, such as the late Princess Shroob sisters, are of a different breed. They are Shroobs, true, but they are a far higher type of being with complex thought patterns and emotions, a humanoid - though still quite mushroom-like - appearance and an everlasting loyalty from their subjects. Shrooblord is one of these. He is the current king of the Shroobs, though he has for some reason lost all contact with his race and homeworld. He is not as evil as the rest of his subjects as he makes them believe, though he is still quite twisted. He has compassion and mercy and sorrow though, and is also capable of making friends like any other organism would be. He also has a dark counterpart but I don't think he is part of this story so he's not relevant.

IC:
Whilst Shrooblord and Beebo were fast asleep, three yellow eyes were watching them from behind dark bushes. Silently, skeletal hands pushed away the plants in front of them and the figure bounced forwards towards Beebo's bed. Curiously, the hands were fidgiting about the bed, as if afraid the creature would awaken any moment and they would have to defend their body. However, nothing happened, so the creature turned towards the other bed, in which Shrooblord was sleeping. Opening its mouth to become a bigger and bigger shell over Shrooblord's body, it raised its arms slowly and opened two more eyes in glee, in preporation of the delicious taste it would soon get from this new type of food. Then suddenly, one of its eyes twitched as a bright light was shining in it. All eyes diverted their attention to the direction of the light. It was a luminous orb of some sort and it seemed to be protecting the monster's dinner. The light darted to and fro and suddenly the food's body began to stir.

From within a dream, the light entered Shrooblord's mind.
"Wake up, wake up!" it seemed to say, "You are in grave danger!"
Leave me alone... he heard his own voice say inside his head, I'm trying to get some sleep.
"N'r shanda, if at any time you were going to grant me that request I made so long ago, do it now! Before our time together and everything I taught you were all in vain, wake up. Now!"
Neehelia nortuk? My master and sensei? My light, my life! My life is in danger; wake up! Wake up!
And with that, Shrooblord shot out of bed, reached into his underrobe and pulled out his Ray Blaster, glowing into the monster's throat with pink light. The beast was still in the exact same position for a few seconds. It blinked. Then as swift as the wind, it had closed its mouth, jumped up in the air and burrowed underground some four feet away from Shrooblord's bed, followed by some laser fire and burnt grass. Beebo woke up violently.
"What's that? Who's there?" he clamoured, waving his claws about.
"It's nothing," Shrooblord said, "I thought I saw something. Go back to bed."

The next day the company was nearing a small village in the middle of the valley.
"We should be cautious," Shrooblord said, "We do not know what kind of creatures we'll encounter here."
As they walked in, they found the village deserted. There was no life to be found in or around the houses, the plants in the front gardens had all died and gone brown and there was ivy all over the fences and walls. Beebo leaned over a hole in the ground, which must at some time have been a well. It had dried up.
"Charming little hamlet," Shrooblord said, "Right, let's loot the houses for anything useful."
The light jumped out of his crown and hovered in front of his face, giving Shrooblord that same sensation he had had before: it was as if it was turning red.
"It's not like these people are going to use any of it," he said appologetically, "Right, Beebo, I think one of us should stay outside while the other searches a house - just to be safe of anyone sneaking up on us."
When he came out of some of the houses, Beebo had found a few colourful tin cans labelled 'Laundry Detergent' as well as some tasty plums and some sort of elixir. "Jackpot!" he cheered, heaving his hands up high, "Your turn."
After picking a small cottage, the Shroob king went inside. He found a fireplace with ashes on the floor in front of it, next to a small chair facing the window on the far wall. Shrooblord inspected the chair and to his surprise, though not really horror, found a skeleton of a being there in a position that indicated the creature wasn't having a good time in its last moments. Below the window was a small cupboard with a single draw. Inside was what appeared to be some sort of hat, much like an aviation helmet used by pilots. After going through some more things, he left the house, with a thank-you to the dead person as a sign of respect. "Well," he said to Beebo, "I seem to have found a kid's helmet, some sort of metal mallet with the head missing and a pot filled with shiny blue orbs - perhaps candy."
"Too bad," Beebo said, looking smugly at his catch. Then he looked back at Shrooblord and handed him a red can. "Here. I'll take that useless hat of yours and you can have this can. It's red, so I guess it will work on your robe."
Shrooblord cheered up a lot after this sign of friendship and then the company moved onwards, passed a large stone statue, crumbled down to the point where it looked like a pile of gravel. Out of the town, the road ahead looked to be quite obvious: straight on, over another river, passed a dense forest and then hopefully they would arive at the base of the mountains - but they could not tell if this was entirely correct since the forest shrouded the view on the horizon. They walked on like drones, not noticing much and not caring about much else but the blisters on their feet. All the while, the yellow eyes observed them.
