Rayman Edutainment EDU/QUI Archive

Rayman received quite a handful of educational spin-off games back in the day with many different variations of each being released. There has previously not been any extensive list of these, making it hard to know which releases were even made, and even harder trying to download or purchase them. Because of this I've for the past few months been sorting through them in an effort to archive and catalogue them all.

The games I'm focusing on are the ones using the Rayman 1-engine, sometimes named Rayman Edutainment. There are two of these games. The first one is internally named EDU and is for learning math and reading. The second one is internally named QUI and is for learning a second language. These have been released under various names, so there's no simple way to title them. Some names include Rayman Junior, Rayman Brain Games, Amazing Learning Games with Rayman, Maths and English with Rayman and English with Rayman.

For the archive I have uploaded all the disc dumps to archive.org here. You can find the download list here. This only includes the MS-DOS versions since the PS1 ones are much more widely available with there only being 5 variants of those released in total.

As you may notice in the archive there are still some games missing. Some ones are also missing proper dumps and instead only have the game data. I've created a sheet here in order to catalogue all the game releases (you can switch between EDU and QUI at the bottom of the page). I've recently also added most of this info to the wiki. If anyone reading this happens to have a copy of any of the games listed as not having proper dumps then I would greatly appreciate if you could help add those :) My hope is to eventually have every release archived and viewable on Ray1Map.

Thanks a lot RayCarrot for this awesome archiving work! I hope the remaining releases eventually surface too; it's fascinating how many differences there are in each map between different versions, languages and difficulties. Like you once said, maybe this is what they initially built the Rayman Designer level editor for!

For now, we'll add maps to the wiki for just one version of EDU and one of QUI, for illustrative purposes, but we'll see what the future holds. :)

Apparently someone added disk information for the Thai version on redump.org yesterday: http://redump.org/disc/124338/

Yeah, RayCarrot already let me know and we're waiting for someone to upload the actual disk image so that we can extract and analyze its content. 8)
