Community Archival Efforts

For the moderators of this site; I recommend you find a place where you can download our lovely website as a ZIM file so it may be archived & redistributed in the events something occurs to it. From the Wikis, to Raytunes, to the news outlet, to even the forum portion.
Once it is a ZIM file, make sure to put it up on GitHub or some other sort of directory [make sure to keep backup copies in case of attacks].

For the sake of Rayman as a dream & for the sake of us as the dreamers, please make sure to preserve, fork, & distribute so Ubisoft cannot take us down for good. Or anyone else for that matter.

Redeem, Reclaim, Recontextualize.

~Sincerely, Barakon.

Hi Barakon and thanks for your efforts towards archival!

The whole of Pirate-Community is already backed up automatically to append-only repositories in a way that would keep them safe even if the main servers were compromised, and said repositories are already accessible by a handful of trusted members of the community, meaning that even if, God forbid, something were to happen to one of us, the others would have no problems accessing the data and restoring service. Not that we plan on going anywhere: the site has been around for more than two decades and it's here to stay.

I'll look into the resources you shared and see with the team what can be done, but given that we're already pretty well covered from an archival perspective and have a lot on our plate at the moment, I cannot guarantee anything.

On a side note, I'm not sure why Ubisoft would want to take us down. Quite the opposite actually: after all, they've partnered with us in the past, back when they had people working on Rayman. In fact, I'm not sure why anyone would be interested in taking down a little Rayman site.
