I did a DNA test and I had Irish, Scottish and Breton ancestry.

Aren't those things kind of a scam? Like, they can't really tell you your ancestry, they just do some statistical comparison with the DNA of people currently living in certain areas.

Then suddenly your DNA is in a commercial database, and the data can be sold on to others, just like your personal data on web services / apps

That's definitely more dangerous than drawing a pentagram at 3 a.m.

That's rather worrying, don't find yourself losing a lot of blood then :/

Haha. I feel like a lot of people don't actually know it unless something happens to them. Of course, we probably should all know.

I believe I also had some a couple years back, and several other ones on and off since I was a teen. They have to know mine too.

Yeah I also don't really want to give away a sample of my DNA to be put in some database, paying for it notwithstanding.

Can you get any interesting information out of it, besides the "ancestry" data based on statistical comparisons?
