Following its reveal at the Sony State of Play, we now have concrete details on this remake of the beloved 2013 platformer, slated to release on October 1, 2026 for $39.99 (which includes Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition for free).

Based on what we've seen so far, the game represents a significant modernization of the original title. It features a visual overhaul that replaces the classic watercolor look with a modern 2.5D aesthetic, alongside an entirely new storyline and a fresh villain. Other key additions include brand-new music levels, a realistic redesign for Betilla, and a minor cosmetic tweak for Rayman himself (who now has two separate eyes), along with new costumes referencing older games and other series. Most notably, the game is set to introduce fully 3D segments featuring rail-shooter gameplay, where players take to the skies on the back of a dragon to shoot down enemies.

What do you guys think of the shift to 2.5D and the introduction of 3D rail-shooter sections? Who do you think is this new villain on the cover?

If that's the actual OST from the game, I think we can confirm that Héral has knock it out of the park, IT'S BEAUTIFUL

Oh my goodness! This looks so good! The interesting thing, is that not only can the Dark Teensie be seen in the trailer, but there’s mention of a new realm. Could maybe the new storyline be relegated to that while the levels from the original game still use the original story?

Ah, the Pre-Order is only available for the PS Store, dammit. I'll have to wait then.

Cool, looking forward to it! Funny, I seldom play games now, but I got that Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary thing a month ago and after nearly beating it, I wanted to play Origins and Legends next to refresh my memories... I'll happily wait until October then!

I just watched it back at the State of Play recently earlier, all i can say is that i love it!!

I mean, i still feel they just want our money. But that doesn't mean it doesn't look good! Seriously, it's gorgeous. Especially Polokus's redesign... I'm excited!
Also, it reminds me of that one trailer for the original game.

Well, I can finally talk about this.

I'm not a fan of them remaking Legends, and I really don't like Betilla's redesign, but I have to admit the game does look really good.

Interestingly, in a video shown before I played the game, Ubisoft made it clear that they see this remake as the start of more Rayman games to come. The work the teams at Ubisoft Milan and Ubisoft Montpellier have done on the remake, which took three years to develop, might very well be carried forward into some unconfirmed Rayman adventure in the future. We’ll see if that ends up happening or not.

I don't care at this point, I'm just happy Rayman is back, and that's a very good first impression.

It seems to me that they might be actually achieved to create a perfect mix between the UbiArt humor and the more serious and darker tone of 2 and 3, AND I LOVE IT. Also, I'm glad they didn't use the Sparks of Hope design for this because, although I still think it is one of the best designs the character has ever had, I don't think it would've matched the energy and vibes seen in the trailer. It feels too sanitized, if that makes sense.
