Interesting, Gamesradar says that it was just postponed until it can be revised (it was posted yesterday). I'm not gonna celebrate too soon, as the last time this bill was "defeated," it was just a rumor someone started

Precisely, that's why I'm waiting for official news and not just relying on a journal entry in my deviantart inbox from someone who was always 100% against SOPA

How will I post updates on ROTD if there is no YouTube? What will become of Haruka's walkthroughs? How will the people that rely on YouTube partnerships for money make a living?

So long Ray William Johnson, Toby Turner (Tobuscus, who you may know from the E3 video of him at the Rayman Origins reveal), Rooster Teeth and undoubtfully many others.
But praise be Obama! As Chuck Norris is the adequate answer to every question, so is Barack Obama the adequate response to every injust bill. (memespawnplz)

Good riddance. I can’t stand those MTV-generation internet entertainers. They need Ritalin and real jobs.

I find it funny how some of the most rabid SOPA opposers haven’t even heard of the NDAA, which poses a far greater threat to their individual freedom.

Once again you cracked me up Spiral... your clear and obvious and almost cynical view on things is one none of the other people I know share, and I commend you for it.
The only one of the three I would find quite sad to see leaving is Rooster Teeth, for I have a great laugh at their stuff sometimes. RWJ, meh, not so much, though he seems like a nice guy who deserves some cash for sitting around the computer all day everyday just so he can get some money and Toby, well, he seems really nice so I wouldn't grant him the misfortune of a paycut.

As I don't give a damn about what happens in the outside world (it's not a very interesting place), I don't really know what SOPA is. But from what I can read in this topic, it looks like a "frightening" yet completely harmless law that would fail to achieve anything if it was to pass. Just like laws on piracy.
But I may be wrong and this law might pass and prevent Americans from polluting the Internet...

Yes, the SOPA bill means to take care of piracy issues by allowing anyone who feels their copyright is ingfringed to sue the site that infringes it. Furthermore, the site will be blocked, embargoed, barred and denied of access by almost everything and from almost every point of view. In other words, the SOPA legislation is the killer of 90% of the stuff that's on the web, including its amazing randomness at times, but also including its outright theft at times.
Pros and cons to both sides of the story, as is usually the case.

From what I've heard, SOPA is bad because it's really badly written and has several potentail loopholes. Not liking the sound of that, but it seems extremely unlikely that it will pass anyway with this much opposition.

Well, this is so ridiculous that I am now 100% sure that there won't be a single site blocked because of this law.

Guys, we have nothing to fear from the law! What Deslife sais, goes, and Deslife sais no-go to the SOPA law!
