Problem with Rayman M

Hello everyone, today I tried to install the game Rayman M on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, but the setup doesn't run and the Compatibility Mode doesn't run.

I've downloaded VirtualBox and I've virtualized Windows XP Home Premium 32-bit. I've installed the game but when I try to play it nothing appens...

What shall I do?

Can you give us more details as to what happens at the most important part (the part where it doesn't start)?

I remember when i couldn't even install the game on my PC. Howewer the game was my cousin's.
Anyway, you can try to run it with Total Commander ( i started Rayman Gold with it and it worked ), and if it not run, then give us some more information.

Using Windows 7, when I put the CD in my computer automatically starts the setup, but nothing happens. However, the setup is present in the active processes... The same thing happens if I start it manually.

Even with Windows 2000 virtualized the same thing happens.

Instead with Windows XP the game's window almost opens, but then it seems this error:
RaymanM.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Once I played Rayman M with Windows XP, but now I have Windows 7 and games old as Rayman M have many problems of compatibility...

The only difference is in the fact that the hardware of this PC is newer than what I had before...

Please, help me, I love Rayman games!

Total Commander is a strange program, how do I use it?
Could you explain it?

Not exactly the compatibility should be your problem, because i ran even Rayman 2 on Win7. Anyways you have to start Total Commander, find there the Rayman M setup.exe file, then start it. Then it should start, if not, maybe there's a problem with your disk.

If you don't know how to do this in TC: start the program; search for the directory where you installed Rayman M into ( type the directory name into the text bar above one of the file lists ), then click on the setup.exe file.

Ok. I might sound a little pathetic here...
But have you tried running Setup.exe as admin?

It doesn't work with Total Commander: it's the same problem: the process is running but the setup doesn't start...

My computer is very new... The Hard Disk is 80 GB and it's very old; I use it because I haven't another one... Is it a problem?

I'm an Administrator so I've run It as Admin...

That's really strange... I played Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc 1 month ago!

I'm an admin on mine too, whilst I have admin rights, in order to allow games admin access you need to run them as admin by right-clicking.
Confusing I know. But even as an admin, games won't have access unless authenticated via UAC (User Account Control)

If you're even can't run the setup and if maybe the disk is a bit corrupted, then you shall buy a new Rayman M CD. I don't think the hard drive make any sense ( saying from experience ).

I don't think that they are corrupt, perhaps there is a problem with the computer ...

Actually you can take a look at the back of your disks.

The problem is the setup in Windows 7, because in the virtualized operating systems it works...

In those the problem is the game that doesn't start...

Please, can someone help me??
