There will always be mixed opinions on which OS a person prefers too. If Linux could play all games properly then I would never even use Windows at all anymore personally. I'm using Debian right now while posting.

Well it's just that Linux doesn't use as many resources as Windows, so it runs faster. People also use Linux to program, and Windows 10 also isn't great for privacy if that's something you care about.

Windows 7, and it's my personal favorite OS of all time. Unfortunately though, the end of support for it as a whole is arriving soon though I will try to make the best of it before that happens.

That's where Microsoft will try force you to use Windows 10, even if you don't want to use it.

I have a Windows 10 gaming VM with VGA passthrough. Unfortunately that's become unstable since I changed my motherboard (to one that knew how to give my CPU the right voltages instead of frying it). Still, the whole reason I set that up was basically to play the Solus Project, which now seems to work grand under Proton!

The only game I tried that seems to not run as well is GTA V. It does run, just at a lower frame rate.

A lot of people will likely switch to Linux once the support for 7 ends.

I certainly hope so!

Game devs need to start making the games native on Linux to be honest.

Well, obviously Valve need to get the finger out and make HL3, and only release the Windows version a year later.

That sounds like a plan, leave the Windows users waiting for a change.

Their servers would probably crash with all the people complaining though.

Yeah there'd likely be plenty of complaints.

And the usual "Valve doesn't owe us anything" rebukes from the same tired old faces.

I'm kind of glad I got an AMD GPU now though. I was thinking I should have went with Nvidia at one stage.

I don't know what I was thinking buying Nvidia again and again…

I was the same and then only got an AMD one because I heard about it being better for Linux.
