Who else here has problems with parents that don't or can't except that you're growing up? Well I am.. I'm dating a guy that only lives over an hour away from me and only my mom has found out already.. I really want to see him and spend Valentine's with him.. I just don't want to spend another Valentine's alone again! My Aunt and Sister are trying to help me out. Who else has other problems with parents that can't let go? Let it out! :)

I don't really see the purpose of posting something that private in an internet forum, one that's all about a video game series.

Other than them beating me up on a regular daily basis, it's fine.

Oh, right, so the Off Topic is for Rayman too, eh? :mefiant:

Well, I don't know how old you are, but one thing I know is a lot of parents tend to be protective / over-protective, usually with good reasons. You may not realize this now, but you will later down the road in life.

It may not seem like it, but parents usually know what the hell they're doing, of course there are exceptions, as not all of them do. However this one, I'd have to side with your mom.

IF anything, have him meet your mom, let her get to know him. Go from there.

Situations such as this aren't respectable methods of parenting.

I'm quite sorry you have to deal with such a rough environment. :(

I'm 22 this September.
and yeah I agree with all of that too! But I need to be free and go out to Barrie to see him somehow!
That's what I'm texting him about now, I'll see what he has to say about meeting my mom first.

You misunderstood me.
I said it's just a stupid idea to post personal things in a public forum dedicated to a video game series.
Strangely, this has become normal in this forum.

I just need this off my chest right now... it's getting out of hand here! I'm just too sensitive...

That's good than!
It's the same with my parents too.. I can't say anything smart without them saying something back to me.
I'll probably be a hermit forever...

And why is that ? Unless you can actually track her down with the oh very personal info she has posted. :boon:
Parents problems... I can't stand my mother, who I find utterly stupid and who can't accept I'm a grown-up. I'd be happier if I could not see her or talk to her at all.

I get in fights with my dad so now and then. (I win them XD)
He always asks me to solve something, ('cause he is a total idiot) so I do it and say that even a 5 year old could do that or something like that.
Then he says I shouldn't act like a knowitall.
So I get angry and begin to call him a douche he hits me then I hit him and then he backs away (he can't even take 1 hit from a 15 year old while he didn't even hurt me XD)
So.... Yeah that's everything that's bad about my parents.

I agree with Rsandee. Let personal subjects be private instead of public.

I think Rulez was joking, as he said it in his usual "joking" style. I'm not the judge of that though.

Parental problems? I don't see anything wrong with this thread at all, since RaymanPC is the closest thing I've ever had to a loving family that respects me as a mental and physical being, enough said. I don't know what I would do without this place.

Not any... Unless you count the holes in walls. (punched by me)

Don't have to do with growing up tho.

Although, you wanting to go out there may be you getting older, but not really, maturing I guess.

This is something you'll understand when you are older...

Just think about it like this. My sister has been followed by guys. My mother has told me about that. My sis wanted to be more 'responsible' but really, she wanted to hang out with friends more. She was worried, and I agreed that my mom would have to be a bit stricter. I don't want anything happening to my sis.

I disagree. If a person wants to reach out to the community with their personal problems, then let it out. Can't be that inhuman. Now if it gets a bit more intimate, then it should be PM'd. :hinhin:

The only thing one might worry about is their security, because this is a public forum that anybody can view without permission. I feel that there should be a category on this board that only registered members with 20+ posts can see and comment in.

Agreed. I just want random people to know what's going on.
