Rayman M on Windows 7 (32bit)

Hi everyone,

I've installed Rayman M on my Windows 7 OS (32 bit, not 64), the installation went fine but when I was trying to run the game (simply by clicking on the .exe file) nothing happened... I mean, I hear the disc spinning a bit and I see that Windows 7 hourglass for a moment, but the game won't load. I also checked the task manager, and I see the RaymanM process when I click the .exe file, but it terminates right away.
Have any of you encountered a similar problem and knows how to solve it?

Some more remarks:
- The OS is indeed 32bit, but the processor itself is 64bit.
- I've also tried to run the game as administrator, or in compatibility mode to Windows XP but that didn't help.
- At the beginning, I had troubles installing the game because of language issues, but a small change in the control panel solved the issue.
- I also got a strange error when the installation tried to launch the DirectX8 install, but then I launched it manually from the disc's files and it was OK.
- I've tried to launch the game without the disc, just to verify that it accesses the disc, and I've got the appropriate error message, so it's not that.

Thanks in advance!

Try "Troubleshooting Compatibility"! I had a problem very similar to yours, and i solved so! :)
If this doesn't work the cd is corrupt and you have to buy another one! :(

It could very well be a registry issue. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? If so, you can try a defragment, and at worst, reinstall your OS.

I tried that now and it didn't solve the problem... I don't think my CDs are corrupt because the installation itself went perfectly fine...

Yes, I've tried to re-install the game and also tried that on two computers running Windows 7 32bit (on a 64bit processor), and still the same problem occurred. That's also why I don't think it's a problem with the OS. What do you mean by defragment?

Any other ideas?

I don't know if this would work, but you can try using my pre-install that works on Windows 7 64-bit and 32-bit:

viewtopic.php?t=7643

The problem could be that the CD is slightly damaged and/or may not install the files correctly, though if it isn't, then I can't imagine what it would be.

Thanks, I'll try it.
Oh I see you wrote there that I still need the CD in the drive to play the game, is it o.k. that I download the Rayman Arena files but use the Rayman M disc?

I don't know... I've got Rayman Arena and it's very similar to Rayman M, so I think that it will work with the Rayman M CD...

Well, as I've guessed - it didn't work because it didn't recognize the Rayman M disc as the Rayman Arena one... Is there a way to get the .iso of the disc or something similar?

Anyway, any other ideas? I'm starting to be a bit desperate...

I'll rip an ISO as well (there are two discs by the way, I'm not sure if Rayman M is the same). I'll try to have it up in the next 24 hours.

That would be nice to try, I can pretty much confirm that the Rayman M discs really don't work with the Arena installs.

Here's disc one

Use an archiving programme and extract them all at the same time to the same place, which will combine the archives into a RAR containing the ISO.
