Nexus was a canceled sequel to UYA, though it's not related to Into the Nexus. Clone Home was a cancelled phone game meant to be a sequel to Going Mobile. Has anyone ever played Going Mobile by the way?

Oh dear, while the game seems to have been well received, the movie seems to be getting panned.

I actually thought THIS would be the videogame movie to finally succeed greatly. Considering the awesome quality the Ratchet and Clank Future series had, I had high hopes for this. Sad to see it's getting panned. I'll still have to see it for myself though.

I saw the reviews and it kinda hurt me to be honest. Oh well, I'm still gonna see it for myself. I'm sure I'll enjoy the movie despite the reviews.

It is rather saddening to see, especially given that like Rayfist said, the Future series had a phenomenal plot for an action platformer game. I know Hoodcom's watched it, so I'm probably going to see what he thinks.

I recently saw the movie and although I've never played the games, enjoyed it well enough. It has several flaws from the pacing to the soundtracks to it's characterizations, but the movie is still fairly solid and funny.

I seen the movie Friday night and I liked it, it still had the great Ratchet and Clank sense of humor.
The only thing I wish it had were more battling, otherwise I thought it was really good, especially for their first attempt.
Though the theater itself was kinda disappointing, I noticed flaws in their screen the whole time, and their sound system was bleh. Too bad IMAX itself wasn't showing the movie, or it would have been a crap ton better than this theater. (Even though I still prefer my own home theater system), IMAX is usually rock solid.

I'll have to see it while I'm on my break after finals.
For comparisons sake, I'm replaying the original Ratchet and Clank on my VITA. Despite the 30 fps, it's a pretty good port for the most part.

The Ratchet and Clank Trilogy?
I'm thinking of getting that for my PSVita. Well, importing it. I like physical copies, and it'd be nice to be able to play some nice Ratchet and Clank games on the go.

Yes, the trilogy. Though I'd be careful about importing the PAL version of R&C trilogy on VITA as I've heard Ratchet and Clank 2 has a known issue where it constantly crashes. I bought the digital version where these problems don't exist and it gives you crossplay.

Sorry for the double post here but I just wanted to post my thoughts on the movie:
Some spoilers here most likely so just be warned...
Negatives
-Pacing/plot progression was WAY too fast. I was annoyed with how quickly scenes would just happen without anything in between. Even in the GAMES where cutting is necessary to progress in the plot, I felt like there was more happening in between scenes. Some things simply aren't explained at all and things just happen all too quickly
-Lack of planets/settings. While the game offered less planets than the original PS2 title, the movie only has 3 PLANETS the entire time which was incredibly disappointing, I really wanted to see planets like Novalis or Kalebo III in the movie but they simply didn't make the cut.
-Humor. A high point in the original trilogy and occasionally in the newer games as well... just bad. I think I smirked at a few parts but most of it for some reason just... didn't do it for me. I know it's a kids movie and hence they're obviously gonna try to do things that kids find funny, but even from the perspective of a kid I can't say this was that funny. It was incredibly try-hard at times and just bad.
-Lack of action scenes. With so little planets in the movie you'd think that action scenes would be frequent, but it isn't. And the few fighting scenes that WERE in the movie were very short.
-Cutscenes from the game... in the movie. C'mon really? I did see this coming but it really irritated the hell out of me how they used cutscenes from the game. I admit, it was nice to compare the few things that happened in these cutscenes from the movie to the game (very few different things happen), but for the most part it was as if I was watching the cutscenes of the game again.
-This next criticism applies to both the game and the movie: While I'm aware the whole story in this new title is essentially a retelling of the story of the original PS2 title (this retelling makes sense in the context of the game, but not the movie), I really don't like how far they strayed from the original.
Spoiler here: Compared to Captain Qwark in the original PS2 title, I didn't like the way he was here. Not only was he far more humorous in the original.... you also loved to hate him. Here, yes, it shows us how he becomes evil, but I didn't like how it showed us a lighter side of things, that he was aware of what he was doing and he knew it was wrong, while in the original PS2 game his motive was simple, and fleshing out was not necessary, because everyone knew that Captain Qwark was still an anti-hero who provided funny comedic moments. The fact that what he knew he was doing was wrong didn't need explaining, it ruins his character of being jealous (although that's definitely there in the movie), and just makes him come off so unlike his original character. I guess that's just a personal preference thing. I don't know, this may come across as bias because of my love and 'nostalgia' (even though I first played it 3-4 years on the HD collection) but the characters feel much less developed than the original. Ratchet who use to be a dick and develops into this nicer character, already starts off as this nicer character, that bothered me.
-Why the fuck is groovitron not here at all?
Positives
-Character's personalities (aside from a few characters) were charming and memorable. While yes, I didn't like Qwark's personality in this as much as the older titles, he was also very memorable, and still manages (despite my criticism's) to be one of the most entertaining characters through out the movie. I actually think this was one of the best parts of the movie. (Aside from the Galactic Ranger members that aren't Ratchet, Clank, or Qwark), majority of the characters felt EXTREMELY memorable.
-References. Yes, I know references don't make a movie any better, I don't want to give anything away but you will see some references to other Playstation titles and it was a nice nod to the Playstation fans (Hoping we one day see a Jak and Daxter movie though that's doubtful).
-Opening up to a sequel. Despite the fact this movie felt, well not so good, part of me was also extremely excited to see that the ending leaves the possibility for a sequel. I want to see a movie and game in the form of Going Commando, as that was my favorite Ratchet and Clank title. But more importantly fix the flaws this current movie had.
-New discoveries. While yes, the plot pretty much follows the game exactly, a lot of different and very interesting things happen. For example, I never knew (spoiler) Nefarious worked for the galactic rangers and use to be a good guy. I know Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal explained how Nefarious became a robot, but it shows us how he became a robot in this retelling (then again that story of how Nefarious became a robot in R&C 3 was told by Captain Qwark who loves to lie so take that as you will).
-CG. Fucking incredible, some of the sharpest looking CG I've seen in a videogame and movie. Small details like Ratchet's ears moving around and the high detail fur was pretty freaking awesome.
-Another important thing worth mentioning, although the movie wasn't very good, I think it does a great job at getting those who are curious to experience the game and the entire series. My girlfriend whose never played a Ratchet & Clank title is actually interested in playing the games now after watching the movie. I guess you could say the movie is one big advertisement for the game.
I enjoyed the movie on some parts, but I also went into the movie KNOWING it was overall gonna be pretty bad. Most of the movie just feels like an incredibly missed opportunity, so many things that could have been done, and many ideas wasted or executed poorly. Otherwise, the movie is still worth seeing, but I can really only recommend it if you're an R&C fan. Even though the movie was aimed at kids I can't really see kids enjoying it a whole lot, I feel like the only type of people to appreciate the few good bits of the movie would be R&C fans, or just playstation fans in general. Like I said, I hope if a sequel does happen they try to fix a lot of the flaws this current movie had.
I give it a 6/10

I noticed that the cutscenes were mostly identical of that in the game, with slight differences.
I ended up expecting it to be that way, especially when the PS4 kept popping up "recording blocked scene".
Groovitron is one of my favorites, why couldn't they have put it in the movie?

Having seen it twice now, I can say I agree with you on everything but Qwark; Honestly he's one of the most irritating things I've ever seen.

Hmm, I wonder when they'll release the movie on Bluray/DVD. So far they have yet to give any release dates on that.

While I haven't heard many good things about the movie (so I think I'll just wait until it's on Netflix or something), I can definitely say the game was just as good as always.

The issue with the movie is that all of the movie included the cutscenes in the game. Fans also said it wasn't that funny and didn't elaborate on backstory or character development like insomniac promised.

A lot of the movie seemed to have tweaked those cutscenes a little bit, not much, but certainly explains the whole PS4's recording stopping on them. Which I don't recall ever telling it to actually record.
