Smash Bros. Poll Results: No Rayman

For those who don't know, a website is making a series of polls featuring popular characters for the next Super Smash Brothers. The most voted characters will be presented to SSB's creator Masahiro Sakurai, and many people have begun voting. This is our chance to get Rayman noticed; as the site hosts its quarterfinals, voters are allowed to post write-in suggestions which also count as votes. Rayman's not on the list of characters, but he can be written in the comments section. His name appears occasionally, but he could definitely use support from more of his fans. Remember, you don't need to make an account to post

Please vote before July 15. Once the quarterfinals are over, write-in suggestions will no longer be taken.
As a 3rd party character, Rayman isn't a bad option for inclusion. Ubisoft seems to have a good relationship with Nintendo, and the company has profitted off the Wii, and shown an interest in the Wii U with Rayman Legends. With enough support, he could even be
considered to appear in SSB4. Rayman also fits the criteria the developers set up:
-Character must originate from a video game and have appeared on a Nintendo console.
-Character must be unique.
-Character must fit with the style of Smash Bros.
-Character must make people want to play as him/her.

The results from the quarterfinals are in, and based on the candidates currently in the semi-finals, Rayman didn't get enough votes. Thanks again to all those who voted for him.

Rayman is one of the most likely 3rd party characters, because of the Nintendo x Ubi friendship (Nintendo Selects Ubi games, strong Wii U support, Mario in Just Dance 3, Just Dance published by Nintendo in Japan). But they also have Rabbids...

It is possible to vote multiple times. Exploit this oversight with care. Don’t vote more than once every few hours, and make sure each comment you post mentions a few other characters so that it doesn’t look like you’re just spamming Rayman’s name over and over again. And for the love of all that is holy, do not vote for a major character from a popular Nintendo franchise. They will all be included no matter what you do.

Some of those things up there... balloon fighter? Really? I don't even see how that makes any sense. Would he have about one attack?
Anyway, I might try some of that pseudo-voting a little later in the day. I honestly don't see how he didn't make it on the list when balloon fighter did.

I guess its because they're only focusing on Nintendo's 1st party characters. Its still strange that Balloon Fighter's up there, since he can't do much without a balloon, and if it pops he's out of luck.

I see Baloon Fighter more as an Assist Trophy than a normal character.

Yes, because everybody wants to play as Mr. Game & Watch...
Still, yes, Rayman totally fits Super Smash Bros.

Exactly.
And it's actually more likely for Rayman to be in the new Smash Bros than in Playstation Allstars.

Legitimate or non-legitimate, if there is an outlet to express our desire for Rayman to feature in like situations, then we should take the opportunity to put our views forward.

Ah, I see that you’ve played PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Well, what’s the game like? Could you tell us what other characters are included, or did they make you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

We just need to keep Rayman afloat for the next round. Since they're taking the 4 most requested write-ins, Rayman has a small window. There'll be strong competition, since everyone wants Mega Man, and people are trolling with some pokemon called Dunsparce, the space available for him is even smalller.

I don't even see Rayman on the list. I see RAY 01 and Ridley, but no Rayman.
Are you sure you didn't just misread the list?
