Haha, this thing's a spambot. http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=126&t=96901

However, it's an interesting topic nonetheless; my favourite director is Don Bluth, which I stated in more detail on the CryDev thread.

Well that is a difficult question. Tim Burton had a few genius movies, though there's this slight problem - Johnny Depp works a lot with Tim Burton, and they basically lick each other's asses, so the movies keep turning out worse than they actually could be. I'm gonna say Tim Burton or Stanley Kubrick. He was a great director (aimed at Kubrick).

No. Most of Burton's recent films are crap because he has stagnated as a director and lost his ability to tell good screenplays from bad ones. In no way is his frequent collaboration with Depp a problem. Any other actor would seem just as bad under Burton's self-absorbed direction.

Do we even need to mention Kubrick at this point? Pretty much everyone knows he was the greatest director of all time.

Well, the topic is indeed about our favourite directors, I see no reason not to name him, even if it is stating the obvious.

Tarantino's films are entertaining. Some of Coen brothers' movies too.

I'm gonna say Steven Spielberg, because I grew up with his movies- Close Encounters and E.T. being two of my favourites. I also like Peter Jackson, Stanley Kubrick, James Cameron, the Coen Brothers and Christopher Nolan.

Tarantino has already been mentioned twice, but I'll mention him again because he's da shizzle! I find that, sadly, most writers/directors struggle hard when it comes to creating convincing casual dialogue, but this guy is absolutely amazing at it, and his movies are so much better because it. It's much easier to stay entertained as a viewer when it feels like the characters are entertaining each other as well, like people actually do in real life.

Excellent question, I'm a big fan of Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock, Guy Ritchie, Oliver Stone, and even George Lucas didn't do a bad job for American Graffiti

Oh my Spielberg...

Damn, it happened watching two movies from him and me crying in the end. The last one I've watched from him was Artificial Inteligence, I couldn't hold.

Christopher Nolan hands down, David Lynch is second.
Who is your favourite actor?
That would be a much harder question for me.

Tommy Wiseau

All of the other directors I like went downhill like Lucas, Spielberg and Burton.

Nolan isn't bad, but Inception really pissed me off so he lost points for that.
