Ren's topic!

First of all, some links:
http://rendellstar.deviantart.com/ - my main gallery on dA.
http://renderu-kousei.tumblr.com/ - supposed to be my gallery too, may contain some arts which are not allowed on dA.
~~~
Here's my very first picture with Rayman, drawn with S Memo. It's one of my first pictures drawn with smartphone, by the way. I have no idea, why he is wearing pants (I can say that I really like drawing Rayman in jeans, I think they suit him) and whom he is giving flower. xD Anyway, I find this picture horrible, anything looks so inaccurate, especially proportions...
This one I have posted in my introduction. This pic is one of my personal favorites. :D Rayman is wearing jeans again and Magician has a little bit different design than he had during appearance in first game.
P.S. I want to ask, does, uhm, soft slash allowed here?
Haruka, thanks! I use Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000. :)
schmooky.luke, thank you too!
To start draw, you need to have a lot of inspiration. Best art always comes from heart. :) And second important thing - be patient and study anatomy, perspective and so on. There are a lot of good books and tutorials in Internet, so it wouldn't be hard to find them. More important is be very patient, drawing is not easy and as for me, the only good teacher is myself and a lot of practice.
Anyway... I will repeat: is soft slash allowed here? XD
Brilliant words here, I couldn't have said it better myself.
I've seen you on DeviantART before! You're style reminds me a lot of Raygirl13's, if you know her.
Thanks for the advice Ren! But I'll never be such a good artist like you are. Man,how I wish I could my brother for a day. :tssk:
How about some optimism, hm?
There's no point trying to learn something without believing you are capable of it.
Ren's words are what I would also say to someone!
I usually say that practice makes the master!
I bet if I showed you some of my art you would realize how bad I am at drawing. :mryellow:
I can't say I'm an artist, or that I possess good artistic skill. But, I'm sure if I put my mind to it, and remained optimistic, I could probably gain decent drawing technique.
I think if people have got strength of will they can become artists. :)
And I don't have that kinda strength. Sadly. :tssk:
You're eleven. Give yourself a chance
Totally agree.
When I was 11, my drawings were horrible too. :D I have started to draw when I was 15, it was 4 years ago. Besides, I believe that a lot of people are talented and finally they will find out what's their talent is, no matter of age. You need to practice more and train your will, Schmooky.luke. But even if you will fail at drawing few years later, it won't mean that you are not talented at all. There are a lot of different talents, not only drawing. ;) So don't be lazy and keep practicing.
Talking about laziness.. I made my first post in tumblr finally and it is not empty as it was before.
Well, I still haven't got answer about slash, so not sure about posting that, but anyway - I really like the result. Again - drawn with smartphone, now using Autodesk SketchBook Mobile.
I always love weird pairings, so sorry... Image
~
Also, I have two original characters. They were supposed to be original, but I had no idea how to draw them; drawing people makes me feel bored but I had no other ideas. And I decided to draw them as raypersons... (again with smartphone)
Micron Mercury, wants to be a scientist, but is too stupid for that. Looks serious on this pic, however he is more futile and worthless.
Image
Angstrom Carbon *damn, he looks so mary-sueish...*, intrested in science too, loves pop-culture of 60's, 70's and 80's, and has two ponytails. One is litetally haircut, other one - real pony tail, lol. It was a stupid mistake (don't ask how), but I decided to retain it. Notes: I have no idea, why he holds bazooka; he likes dying hair in bright colours (there are "spots" of his natural colour on pic); there is atomic number, symbol and relative atomic mass of carbon on his T-shirt.
I've always had a hard time drawing characters interacting with each other, so good job.
I like what you did with Angstrom's invisible arms. It's a bit trippy to look at, but at the same time it looks very natural.
Aw, that draws are so amazing :D. I love the way arms seem to be there but don't in Angstrom. i don't know why but he reminds me Austin Power :?
Magician/Rayman draws : the first one is cute, and the second one...well, cool too. Serza would surely love that YAOI style :mrgreen:...
@Schmooky : Come on...you know when I was your age I was convinced that I wasn't good at drawing too. Sometimes it takes time for it to become good. Emotions surely helped me to draw in a better way.
I restarted to draw only 2 months ago and I was very impressed like "omagad I have always been thinking I was bad at drawing derwp :fou: ".
Take your time and draw what you want...my personal advice. Otherwise, Ren said all what you must know.
How long have you done that for?
Also, unless you're a prodigy, do you honestly think that anyone is good at drawing when they're eleven? You can maybe judge yourself on that in another five years.
