Hm, a fellow BSC viewer?
Yeah, serious Sonic titles do have some excruciatingly cringeworthy moments.

They only reason why is he popular is because many people took him serious and made commentaries on him, including already famous YouTuber CuteFuzzyWeasel.
I honestly find it hard to believe how can anyone take this seriously.

I even found the story of Secret Rings and Black Knight extremely cringe-worthy. "Hey are you Tails?" "Oh, no I'm Ali Baba." For fuck sakes, it's TAILS. If Sega does have any thoughts on making a new addition to the storybook series they better be damn careful, the problem I had is not being able to control Sonic fully and the extremely unforgettable levels.
Hah! Funny.

It's funny how they made Shadow, a character who lives by his own rules, a knight for a king.

Those helmets look ridiculous and only end up making me chuckle at how bad the game is.

I remember when I was about 9 or 10 years old I was a huge Sonic addict. But time pass by and I didn't really care for the series. Though Generations and Lost World look very fun and vibrant in design. I hope to play those two titles in the near future.

A question. Does anyone here thinks SA2 is overrated? I mean it's a good game but there are some bad aspects of it like Knuckles and Rouge stages. I did not find Eggman and Tails stages that much fun too. Soundtrack was awesome and Sonic/Shadow gameplay. Story was good too. But I seen people praising game way too much in my opinion. I enjoyed Sonic Heroes better. SonSally did a fair review of SA2 in my opinion.

Heroes and Adventure 2 are both overrated if you ask me. Adventure 2 has charm but it's too often overshadowed by it's weaker points.

Hm, you consider Heroes to be overrated? Parts I've been to usually range from having the game regarded as meh, to being considered the beginning of the Sonic downfall.

Heroes isn't that bad gameplay wise. I liked the idea of switching between 3 different characters and it wasn't too frustrating either. But yyyyeah, the dialogue is the most hilarious crap I've ever heard. Let's show that creep THE REAL SUPER POWER OF TEAMWORK! Yeah, because WE'RE SONIC HEROES! Let's blast through with SONIC SPEED! SHAA! I'll punch this thing WITH MY FISTS!

I don't remember that but knowing Sonic that seems to fit right in. I swear 90% of the Secret Rings all Sonic does is brag about how totally cool and marketable his moves are.. I think I'll just let Heroes be part of my past because last time I played Sonic Adventure 2 I realised some of my favourite games as a kid sucked ass. :|

I never liked any of the campaigns outside Sonic's though. I couldn't care less for all the side characters of the franchise and that hasn't changed.

*casually slides in*

Sonic is probably my favourite franchise ever. Ironically, my least favourite game ever is a Sonic game (Sonic '06).

I have a few favourites, that I kind of categorise in some way.

And I plan to pre-order Lost World for Wii U soon, specifically for the Deadly Six Edition. The games looks amazing, and I'm really excited. If it's as good as I think it will be, Lost World and Rayman Legends will be my personal favourite games of 2013. I definitely think it has a shot at being my favourite 3D game in the franchise.

I'll try not to talk too much here, Sonic franchise + me = tangents, most of the time! :P

I am a total nerd with this franchise though, and I've actually gotten a fair few people into the franchise, both locally and online. So don't be afraid to talk to me if you want to talk about Sonic!

Welcome to the RPC sonicbrawler182. Hope you enjoy your stay. It is always nice to see a good Sonic fan since the Sonic fanbase as a whole is on really bad voice. I like your signature as well. I never understood people who boycott every modern Sonic game and claim Classics were only good. The fact is that both Classic era and Modern era of Sonic have good and bad games. I am also excited for Lost World, although I will be stuck with 3DS version only for a while until I don't buy Wii U. Oh and feel free to talk as much as you like here. Don't be shy ;)

Thats cool. Since you know a lot about franchise, can I ask you a question? Was there any mentioning of Dual Audio in Sonic Lost World? I know that 90% of Sonic games include both Japanese and English voices worldwide and that only times when it didn't, it was due to memory limit (GameCube versions), or rushing the game (Sonic 06 - even though Japanese voices were on disc, they are not accessible in menu). I am a big fan of Junichi Kanemaru, what can I say :mryellow:
one of my favourite Japanese voice actors. I did also enjoy older Sonic games on English (back when Ryan Drummond was Sonic) but ever since he was replaced, I found other Sonic actors not to be good as him. I do admit Tails actually improved in newer games and Eggman is epic as always

Thank you for the welcome, OCG. I also totally agree with the fact that both the Classic and Modern era of Sonic have games that range from awful to amazing. It's why I like both sides of the franchise just as much.

As for your question, I'm actually not sure. I VAGUELY recall an interview that mentioned Lost World's Japanese VAs in relation to something, but I can't remember where it was, or what it stated. You'd have to wait until the game comes out to find out.
However, considering the fact that you are getting the 3DS version, I doubt it will matter much. Handheld Sonic games don't have full voice acting, and generally only use RPG-esque dialogue boxes to explain the story, rather than having actual cutscenes (the Sonic Rush games had a few small action scenes, though). Sonic Generations for the 3DS didn't even have voice acting outside of grunts, or proper cutscenes. By the looks of things, the 3DS version of Lost World is going to have the same issue (though I do hope I'm wrong. I do want to get the 3DS version at some point too).

As for Sonic 06, it actually is possible to listen to the Japanese VA in an English copy.
I can't speak for the PS3 version, but when I was younger, I remember changing my Xbox 360's language setting to Japanese, and when I played Sonic 06 then, it had all of the Japanese VAs in place, for both cutscenes and gameplay.
You'd be better off just looking for them on Youtube though, I'm pretty sure someone has uploaded all of the game's Japanese cutscenes.
