The Bayou is a location from Rayman 2: The Great Escape and its remakes Rayman DS and Rayman 2: Revolution. The Bayou is one of the longer levels in the game, and in many ways is similar to the later Precipice level.

Description
The murky bayou is a river flowing through the Marshlands assumably flowing to or out of the Marshes of Awakening. Surrounding the swamp is an intensely dense forest. The waters are haunted by Zombie Chickens.

Rickety bridges make the bayou difficult to cross; just a few steps on them can make them collapse into the piranha-infested waters. Occasionally, barrels float down the river. These barrels may be used as makeshift boats.

One tree in the swamp in particular resembles a demon, complete with flame-lit eyes.

As a Level
Bzzit Captured
(note: the following is Revolution only)<br>
Following Rayman's triumph in rescuing Ly the Fairy, the Teensie in the Minisaurus Plains Teensie Circle tells Rayman that one of Polokus' masks may be found on the Lost Island; however, Bzzit, the ferryman to the Lost Island, has been captured. Rayman sets out to the Marshlands to rescue the boatman.

He's Arrived at the Swamp
The level begins with a cinematic involving a conversation between Admiral Razorbeard and his lackey. The lackey informs Razorbeard that Rayman has arrived at the swamp. Admiral Razorbeard chomps down on a Yellow Lum (a Red Lum in the PS version), lowering the Yellow Lum maximum to 999 (it stays 800 in the PS version). He then orders Rayman to be stopped. The scene ends with warships dropping down from the Buccaneer.

Barrel Riding
Rayman arrives at the bayou, either from the Marshlands (Revolution) or from the Marshes of Awakening (Rayman 2). As he passes through some trees (Revolution) or through a portal (Rayman 2), a Warship descends from the sky and prepares to bombard Rayman. Rayman, unable to swim through the green Cajun waters, hops aboard a barrel floating in the water. The barrel begins to float down the river at the same time that the warship begins releasing bombs.

Shooting the bombs to avoid their explosions, Rayman arrives at a small bit of bare land. From here he hops aboard another barrel, and floats down more of the river until he reaches the bottom of a canyon. The warship is unable to reach him here and leaves.

After doing battle with a Robo-Pirate, Rayman finds himself swinging onto another barrel via Purple Lum. However, the waterfall he begins floating towards is haunted by Zombie Chickens, which rise from the murk and attack. Beyond the phantoms, Rayman leaps onto a log and oversees another warship flying above the bayou.

Bombardment on the Bridges
Rayman flutters down to a wooden bridge, but the warship immediately fires a cannonball. Rayman dodges the cannonball quickly, but the bridge plummets into the water. Rayman rushes across bridge after bridge, and finally delves into a small cave.

Bzzit and the Flamethrower
(note: the following is Revolution only)<br>
As Rayman walks out from the cave, he finds himself at a clearing. On the side of a cliff is a prison similar to Ly's from the Fairy's Glade. However, this time it holds a Moskito look-alike, Bzzit. Bzzit warns Rayman of an ambush, and soon Robo-Pirates parachute down to attack. Rayman fights them off, but is quickly met with a new challenge.

A Yellow Robo-Pirate rises from the ground and begins firing its nasty balls of fire at Rayman. This is the strongest Robo-Pirate Rayman has fought yet, but in the end he succeeds. Bzzit cheers for Rayman, and then tells him to meet him at the pier in the Minisaurus Plains. Rayman nods, and pushes onward.

The Demon Tree
Following more trials evading warships on rickety bridges, Rayman arrives at the next segment of the bayou. Rayman must scale the sides of giant trees while dodging s being rolled into the river. At the end of the trail is a great cliff towering over the swamp. In the distance stands a demonic tree with firey eyes and a grand mouth. By pressing a switch, a bridge extends allowing Rayman the distance he needs to reach a Purple Lum.

The lum sends him swinging into the tree's mouth, only to lead to an encounter with the invincible Ape Pirate. Rayman must either evade the Ape Pirate or send it too its doom, but either way he arrives at a booby trap-filled corridor. By pressing a Time Switch, Rayman is able to unbar the exit and evade the pendulums blocking the way.

At the end of the corridor, Rayman escapes out of the tree and arrives at a pipe of sorts. Here he releases a Teensie and ends the level.

Revolution Return Trip
In Revolution, it is impossible to acquire all of the bayou's Yellow Lums on the first visit. The cliff overlooking the demon tree holds a Dry Bulb. After completing the Pirate Mines, Rayman may use the Rain Dance to revitalize the bulb and access the otherwise inaccessible remaining Lums.

Side Quest
In all versions other than Revolution, there is a small altar near the entrance to the Bayou. If Rayman has enough lums, Ly the Fairy will grant him access to the Walk of Life level.

Characters
Good Guys
*Ly the Fairy (Rayman 2 and Rayman DS only)
*Bzzit (debut) (Revolution only)
*Keg
*Zombie Chicken (Revolution debut)

Trivia
*The Bayou shares the same music as the outside of the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava
*Many aspects of the Bayou may have been inspired by Louisiana in the United States, most notably the usage of the word "bayou," which is normally seldom used outside the state. The music is also reminiscent of Louisiana's swamps. The reason for the multiple Louisiana influences are probably due to the Cajun state's French background.
Description
The Tomb of the Ancients, in short, is a haunted graveyard within a cave. There are many tombstones and wooden dolls around here. The place is filled with green, poisonous water. The walls and ground are made of dark rock with a bluish tinge on them. You can hardly ever see any sky here, although when you can, you see a blackened, creepy sky. In Rayman 2: The Great Escape/Rayman Revolution/Rayman DS, the Pirates use this place for one of their strongholds, meaning a lot of wood and Robo-Pirates themselves.
After a short battle, Rayman destroys the device and Clark is restored to normal.

The Menhir Hills is a location from Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 2: Revolution, and Rayman DS. It is characterized by its focus on riding Walking Shells, its short length (one of the shortest levels in all versions of Rayman 2), being the only level other than the Fairy Glade and Marshes of Awakening that Rayman must re-visit at least once to complete the game, and being the first level in the game to give Rayman a sidekick--in this case, Clark.

Description
The Menhir Hills are mountainous foothills covered with large, pine tree-like boulders known as "menhirs," hence the area's name. In most regions of the foothills, barely a sound of life can be heard, though every now and then the falling over of a menhir breaks the silence. Large trees stand as loners in the small clearings that dot the landscape. A great river flows through the Menhir Hills, and bridges are twice necessary to cross them.

The Menhir Hills are in several instances exceedingly difficult to cross on foot; similar to the Lava Sanctuary, patches of the hills are engulfed by giant, thorny plant roots crossable only by machines. These roots occasionally poke out of the walls of the several small tunnels that pave holes in the mountainside. Where the roots don't grow, the ground is still commonly too steep to hike.

When Admiral Razorbeard seized Rayman's world, the Menhir Hills was the construction site of two Robo-Pirate training facilities: the Military Academy and the Elite Troop Training Academy. These facilities largely cut the hills into three segments.

As a Level
The Menhir Hills is one of the few levels in Rayman 2 to generally be exactly the same in every version, with the exception of some terminology. The Menhir Hills must be passed through twice; once after the Sanctuary of Water and Ice (Whale Bay in the PS version), and again after the Cave of Bad Dreams. In Rayman 2: Revolution, the Menhir Hills are located near Globox's House.

The First Visit
When Rayman first arrives in the Menhir Hills (in Revolution the Globox's House Teensie explains that Clark went to the hills and Rayman must follow him), Murfy immediately appears right in Rayman's face and warns him about the nearby academy's Walking Bullet. Murfy hints that the bullet may be tamable, and Rayman shortly does just that. By riding the Walking Bullet, Rayman is able to cross a patch of thorned plant roots to reach the Military Academy.

Rayman enters the academy to find two Henchman 800s asleep; though the sign outside hints at sneaking past them, the Robo-Pirates are of the weak variety and are fairly easy to defeat (though particularly in all versions but Revolution this is the first time multiple Robo-Pirates are encountered at the same time) (it should also be noted that there are more than two Robo-Pirates in the academy in Revolution, some of which being hidden). Whatever the player has Rayman do, the hero must continue on to leave the small academy.

After taming another Walking Shell, Rayman crosses a root patch and must dodge and weave through crates and the thorned roots that protrude in the various tunnels he goes through. The end of the ride leaves Rayman at the entrance of the Elite Troop Training Academy. As intimidating as the name is, Rayman soon finds there's nothing to worry about: Clark has already taken care of the students inside.

Clark is not feeling well; apparently, while fighting the Robo-Pirates he accidentally swallowed a robot part. Clark's future will not be bright unless Rayman can bring him the Elixir of Life from the Cave of Bad Dreams.

This requirement forces the level to end immediately, unfinished. In all versions other than the PS version, Rayman must backtrack to the Marshes of Awakening (in Revolutions case, this may be the first visit) to locate the Guardian of the Cave of Bad Dreams. As Rayman does not know the cave's name prior to his encounter with Clark, this cave was not accessible prior to the encounter. In the PS version, Rayman may go directly to the Cave of Bad Dreams from the Menhir Hills.

The Return Visit
In all versions other than Revolution, Rayman is again lectured by Murfy about the Walking Bullets when he returns to the Menhir Hills. Rayman must travel through the entire level once more until he reaches Clark.

Revived by the Elixir of Life, Clark busts a wooden wall in the Elite Troop Training Academy, allowing Rayman access to the empty school. Rayman must lead Clark to other wooden walls so that he may break through them as well. In the end Rayman leaves Clark and descends a staircase leading out of the academy.

In the final segment of the Menhir Hills, Rayman must once again tame a Walking Shell. After doing so, he must ride it up a steep slope and then through a tunnel full of rising menhirs. The tunnel leads to a menhir "forest" full of toppling menhirs Rayman must dodge; the bridge he crosses has a similar set of obstacles. Finally, after avoiding the many menhirs, Rayman and the Walking Bullet leap off a cliff and into a portal. The level is now finished, though incomplete.

The Final Visit
After Rayman has completed the Canopy, he is able to light torches. An alcove under the entrance of the Elite Troop Training Academy holds one of the Menhir Hills' cages, but to reach it Rayman must first light a nearby torch and ride a Keg over a large gap.

The Sanctuary of Water and Ice is a location from Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 2: Revolution, and Rayman DS. The boss of the sanctuary is Axel.

Description
The Sanctuary of Water and Ice is one of the four sanctuaries created by Polokus. Its walls display octopuses with tentacles resembling waves. Though the name of the sanctuary suggests a mixed environment of water and ice, the sanctuary lacks of water (except in the PS version of Rayman 2) and is predominantly icy.

In all versions other than the PS version of Rayman 2, the Sanctuary's doors are hidden in a mountain on the Lost Island. The inside of the Sanctuary may be considered a separate dimension; the ruins of the Sanctuary float in a starlit void. Some time long ago, the Sanctuary possibly may have looked more like Ly's Palace from Rayman Arena.

In the PS version of Rayman 2, the Sanctuary's doors are hidden in an underwater cave inside Whale Bay, known only to Carmen the Whale. Unlike the N64/PC/DC counterparts, the PS version of the sanctuary is intact and indeed features a mixed environment of water and ice, though it is slightly more predominant on the water side. The PS version of the sanctuary is much more like the later sanctuaries in either version.

As a Level
Entering the Sanctuary
see Lost Island or Whale Bay for this segment of the level

Finding Axel
Rayman 2/Rayman DS/Revolution
Upon landing on a small, flat surface, Rayman is met by Murfy. Murfy explains how to slide.

Rayman then runs forward and begins to slip and slide on the steep, slippery, icy floors of the Sanctuary's floating ruins, occasionally passing through giant doors leading into frozen chambers. Eventually Rayman arrives on level, non-icy flooring.

PS version
Carmen brings Rayman to a large grotto and explains that they have arrived at the Sanctuary of Water and Ice. Rayman thanks Carmen and enters the sanctuary.

After progressing through the small sanctuary, Rayman arrives in a starlit void.

Battling Axel
On the other side of a large, water-covered gap, a muscular entity is seen floating in front of a waterfall. This is Axel, the Guardian of the Sanctuary of Water and Ice. In the PS version, Axel explains that he was ordered by Polokus to guard the sanctuary against anybody, even Rayman. In every other version, however, no conversation occurs between Rayman and Axel and the boss battle begins immediately when Rayman stops sliding.

After battling Axel (see Axel for details), Rayman proceeds across a row of Purple Lums to reach the waterfall behind the guardian. The waterfall curtains a large hallway. At the end of the hallway is a grassy chamber with a thin staircase. At the top of the stairs is a strange pillar. As Rayman approaches the pillar, a beam fires from it and connects with Rayman's body. The pillar moves backwards, and a mask rises from an altar. As Rayman picks up the mask he is warped out of the sanctuary and the pillar moves back.

First Meeting with Polokus
Rayman arrives on a moonlit cliff. At the edge of the cliff is a pillar similar to the one in the sanctuary, but atop it sits Polokus, the god of the Glade of Dreams. Polokus explains that he is away at the moment, but by traveling to the Sanctuaries and acquiring their corresponding masks Rayman can bring Polokus back. Polokus takes the mask from the sanctuary and places it on his pillar, then warps Rayman back to the Hall of Doors (the Teensie Circle in the Minisaurus Plains in Revolution).

The Robo-Pirates (or Henchmen) are an army of robotic pirates that invaded Rayman's world in Rayman 2. They all willingly serve Admiral Razorbeard, but do seem to have their own personalities.
Appearance
The majority of the Henchmen are largely the same. Their head is like a metallic skull with an earring on one side. Also, one eye is completely black, as if they have an eye patch. Their torso basically consists of a cube-like shape with a coloured vest on it. The vest is slightly torn at the bottom. They have two arms, both of which end in a cylinder-like structure. On one side, the cylinder is hollow - this is where they fire their bullets from. The other side has a large hook, which they often use for swiping at close range. Their two legs have striped pants that are similar to the vest in that they are torn at the bottom. Their feet are basically black shoes with gold-ish buckles on them.

Models
There are many different pirate models, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Basic Henchman
The basic Henchman are the standard model, that come in different colours and have different weapons, but all look largely the same. They sometimes appear in the level by parachuting or drilling up through the ground. More than often they are found sleeping on the job. The Henchman 800s are the most common of the Basic Henchman.

Green
These have a green vest with green and white striped pants. They have very little health and generally just stand still and slowly shoot, however they sometimes throw powder kegs. In the PlayStation version, however, they have a lot of life, making them difficult to kill, but only ever throw kegs.

Blue
They're the same as the Green Henchmen, except blue instead of green and has a little life. They appeared in Rayman 2 and Rayman DS at the Fairy Glade, the Sanctuary of Water and Ice or the Lost Island, and the Menhir Hills. The Blue Henchmen are the uncommon Henchman 800s. The Blue Henchmen never appeared in Rayman Revolution.

Purple
These are much like the Green Henchmen, except purple instead of green, and they have much more life. Their bullets are often larger, and they have a habit of firing multiple bullets in quick succession. They move around a bit, sometimes jumping to dodge Rayman's attacks. In the PlayStation version, their bullets are the same but are always fired in sets of three, in between running back and forth. They have more life in the PlayStation version, but not as much as the Green Henchmen. They're given a similar appearence to the Blue Henchmen.

Yellow/Orange
The Yellow Henchmen have much more life, but move very little. Instead of bullets, they launch streams of fire, which move very quickly, and also throw cannonballs which start a fire where they land which causes damage when Rayman walks on it. Yellow Henchmen do not appear in the PlayStation version, but are instead replaced with Orange Henchmen. The Orange Henchmen have more life, and move around a lot via their drills. They don't throw cannonballs, and instead of a fire stream, just shoot large fireballs.

Red
These are the strongest of the standard Henchmen, and appear with red vests and red and yellow stripes on their pants. They fire missiles which can home in on Rayman, but can be destroyed by Rayman's attacks. Red Henchmen have lots of life. However, in the PlayStation version, their rank is inverted and they have very little life and fire only basic shots. Two Red Henchmen are used as the bodyguards in front of Razorbeard's cabin, even in the PlayStation version. Two of them (likely the same two) also carry Globox to his prison cell in the opening movie. Later on, one of the bodyguards puts his foot out to trip Razorbeard's Lackey, proving that they might have a personality.

Henchman 1000
Main article: Henchman 1000<br>

An older version of the Henchman 800. These types of robo-pirates are similar to the newer ones, but with a retro design and a fake mustasche. They have a hand on their right arm instead of a hook, and they are wearing a paper hat. These pirates usually say spanish stuff (when they talk). They have only been seen once, as an unlockable character in Rayman M. The Henchman 1000 main theme is country rock.

Zombie Henchmen
Main article: Zombie Henchman<br>

These are old pirates that have been wrecked and rusted, but still walk. Their vests are a pale, rotted yellow, and one of their feet are missing. In additino, their hook hangs limply off the arm and both eyes are black. As a result of their state, they don't move around very well, and walk in a zombie-like manner. Instead of shooting from their arm, the Zombie Henchmen breathes a green poisonous gas towards Rayman. Zombie Henchmen are very difficult to destroy, as when they appear to be dead, they get up again a few moments later. These are found in Rayman 2: Revolution.

Ninjaws and the Ninja Henchmen
Main article: Ninjaws<br>

The Ninja Pirates are very similar to the others, but have a few notable appearance traits and abilities that make them very different. Ninjaws is seemingly the elite of them, who at one point returns to Razorbeard's cabin claiming to have captured 5000 slaves. They are more or less completely black and look a little less square. Their heads appear very different. Instead of a skull, it appears as a tall cylinder topped with a red bandanna. Ninja Henchmen have a lot of life, and have the ability to vanish and then reappear somewhere else in a cloud of dust. They either appear near Rayman and try to hook Rayman, or appear standing back more and try to shoot him. Sometimes they will teleport quickly to different places around Rayman while shooting, surrounding him with bullets. Their weakness is that their hooks are very heavy. If they miss, it gives Rayman an opportunity to attack. In Rayman 2: Revolution, two can be seen in Razorbeard's cabin. Later on, they defend the two generators that power the shield at the pirate factory, and once the generators are destroyed, the Ninja Henchmen are no longer seen next to Razorbeard.

Gorilla Pirate
Main article: Ape Pirate<br>

The Gorilla Pirates are so named because of their similarities to an ape or gorilla, in both appearance and behaviour. they are very bulky, and where a blue and white striped shirt. they can not be hurt by Rayman's attacks, so usually the idea is to lure them off a cliff or ledge, or to throw a plum at their head and use it as a platform.

Barrel Pirate
Main article: Barrel Pirate<br>

The Barrel Pirates consist of a large barrel with legs, a cannon on top, and a slit with eyes inside. Sometimes they are found disguising themselves, as the slit can be closed and the legs can be withdrawn. In this state, they just look like a barrel and a cannon. Their attacks differ from version to version. On the PlayStation version, they simply fire sets of three large balls of electricity. In Rayman 2: Revolution however, they fire bolts of lightning that can only be avoided by hiding behind something. In this version, they also launch cannonballs, similar to those used by the yellow henchmen, only it uses a poisonous gas instead of fire. One thing that is consistent in each version is their large amount of life.

Razorbeard's Lackey
Main article: Admiral Razorbeard's Lackey<br>

This is the pirate who carries out many of Razorbeard's orders. He is unarmed, although his arms are very similar to a typical Henchman's, except with ordinary hands. his body consists of two rough cubes, the lower one larger than the top. The lower one has the legs sticking out of it and a pair of green pants. His head is a basic cube with an opening mouth and a red bandanna. Although he has no weapons, he still causes Rayman trouble. Carrying out Razorbeard's orders, he drives the Warships which pursue Rayman. He also controls Clark at one point via remote control, as well as a giant bird-like robot called the Dinosaur in the same manner. Also, in Rayman 2: Revolution, he controls a hemispherical vehicle called the Boss Biditank.

Pirate Vehicles
The Warships
Warships are flying ships that attack Rayman in The Bayou, The Canopy, and The Precipice. They usually fire slow moving homing bombs that move about like a helicopter, and can be easily destroyed by Rayman's attacks. They also fire cannonballs, but these are not usually aimed at Rayman, but instead at platforms to blow them away. They may also launch walking shells that run towards Rayman upon landing.

The Dinosaur
The Dinosaur is a giant bird-like robot controlled by Razorbeard's Lackey. It is only ever named in the PlayStation version, but does appear in the others. It often pecks the ground like a chicken. The Dinosaur is notable for periodically jumping high, and upon landing, causes objects to bounce off the ground. Also, when Rayman is on the shell, it chases after him, and runs faster than the shell when going in a straight line, but lacks agility. The Dinosaur is not destroyed, although in the PlayStation version it runs out of fuel.

The Biditank
This is a tank-like vehicle that takes the shape of a hemisphere. It is driven by Razorbeard's Lackey in the pirate factory in Rayman 2: Revolution, and travels on wheels located underneath it. It fires the same kind of propeller bombs as the Warship as well as a machine gun-like weapon. Also, it can use an attack like that of the Barrel Pirates, at which point Rayman must hide behind something. It can only be damaged by activating a powerful gun and using it to fire at the tank.
Trivia
*The Red Henchmen were sometimes called Red Rum.

Trivia

Rayman Revolution (known in the United States as Rayman 2: Revolution) is an updated remake of Rayman 2: The Great Escape made specially as a launch title for the Sony PlayStation 2 in 2000. Several changes have been made for this version, notably the upgraded graphics, the inclusion of new worlds and mini-games, and the order of the gameplay. Its difficulty was also slightly higher of Rayman 2. Similar to the PlayStation version of Rayman 2, some levels were shaped differently or removed (i.e. Echoing Caves).

New Features
Akin to games such as Sonic Adventure, the levels in Rayman Revolution are accessed via three new hub worlds: The Minisaurus Plain, Globox's House, and Rainbow Creek that allow free roaming, making this version a lot less linear than the previous versions. There are also new events, missions, and puzzles to accomplish. In addition, new characters are introduced such as Bzzit, and Rayman can acquire new powers, items and abilities, such as the ones he can buy with the Yellow Lums he collected at the Magic Well, an equivalent to the typical item shop.

Characters such as Ly, Clark, and the Teensies appear a lot more often in this version. Ly increases Rayman's health by offering minigames, which include the Walks of Power and Life and the roller coaster segment that was previously in the Top of the World, in exchange for the Familiar Spirits, a new kind of spirits that are trapped in the cages. Meanwhile, the Teensies host the Stone Circles, which allow Rayman to return to places he has already visited.

Powers and Items
The game requires a lot more backtracking than before to collect the rest of the Lums that Rayman could not reach for the first time. Objects such as cannons, beacons, plants and mushrooms appear throughout the game, and need Rayman to gain his new powers and specials items (such as the Rain Mask) in order to use them. A notable difference between the previous versions is that Rayman is not granted with the shooting power at the beginning, but is simply given the ability to punch, though he is shortly given the shooting power by the Teensies. As Rayman progresses, his shots get much stronger thanks to Silver Lums, until he can produce a shot that is as powerful as an exploding grenade.

Later in the game, Rayman is given some items to help him, such as the Rain Mask, which performs a Rain Dance like Globox's and helps plants to grow, and the Lums Radar, which is a magnet that can help him find any Yellow Lums that he may have missed. Reminiscing the original Rayman, Rayman can be shrunk to help him squeeze through small holes by eating mushrooms that he can water with the Rain Dance.

Unlike the previous versions, Rayman can keep his flying power, which he lost beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, conditionally - he can only use it whenever he is flying above any body of lava.

Levels
Glitches
This is a list of some of the most notable glitches in the game, among others.

List of glitches
Walking Shell Sound - If you turn up or turn down the sound effects volume in the options menu, you hear different sounds. One of them is a walking shell sound. If you hear it while turning up the volume, try holding the 'right' button, and exit the pause menu. The sound will continue.

Helicoptering Off the Front:
1. Go to the Teensie Circle in Globox's House.
2. Stand on the rickety wooden bridge nearby.
3. Make Rayman jump off the bridge at the highest altitude and speed as possible.
4. At the top of the jump, begin to helicopter.
5. Continue helicoptering forwards as though you want to reach the distant mountains.
6. The screen will turn a light blue, but continue helicoptering forwards.
7. The screen will return to normal, but Rayman is now jet black.
8. You can now helicopter all the way down to the forest and rivers below, but Rayman will go straight through them.
9. The screen will now turn blue again, but Rayman will still be visible, jet black.
10. You can continue to helicopter forever if you wish.
11. While helicoptering at any point in this glitch, if you stop helicoptering for around two seconds or more, you will fall and die.

Flying First-Person View - It often happens when you run through the door that leads to where you meet Clark, in the Menhir Hills. In View mode, you can fly around the level, and you can even leave it, and fly out to "Orange World". This also allows Rayman to run around in the walking shell tracks. It is still unknown as to how exactly it is performed.

Air Swimming - This is notably easier to perform than some others:
1. Go to the Skull Cave.
2. Use the flying helicopter power to hover over the lava.
3. Go through the rock over the entrance.
4. Land in the water, right outside the big cave you see.
5. You can now swim around in the air. However, given that the game sees it as swimming, Rayman will eventually die due to a "lack of air".

Rayman Goes Insane - Perform the air swimming glitch and fly/swim to the entrance of the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. Fly as high as you can, or Rayman will just enter the level normally. If you do it right, it should look like this:
Link!
After a long time, Rayman will start leaving the screen, but he will come back later, and start flying through the rock.

Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava is a level in Rayman 2: The Great Escape. It is a continuation of the previous level, the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava as it is set inside the same temple, and it is where the third of Polokus' masks is really hidden. It is also the only level in the game in which Rayman can use his helicopter to fly. It's called the Lava Sanctuary in Rayman Revolution.

Description
This is an underground level which consists of long rivers of lava and thorny tunnels, which Rayman cannot pass without flying. At the beginning of the level, Ly the Fairy appears before him and grants him the power to use his helicopter to fly with a Silver Lum. Often throughout the level Rayman is blown away by giant fans, and he has to keep his flight under control to prevent damage to himself.

By the end of the level, he encounters Foutch, who knocks him down with such a forceful blow he loses his power, but then has to fight him. When Foutch is defeated, he is finally rewarded with the thrid mask.

Ninjaws
Ninjaws is the elite of the Ninja Henchmen and he's the same as the Ninja Henchmen. Ninjaws reported to Admiral Razorbeard in Razorbeard's cabin that he captured more than 5000 slaves in the PlayStation version of Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Razorbeard ordered Ninjaws and his Ninja Pirates to kill Rayman, but they were defeated by Rayman.
Ninja Henchmen/Black Robo-Pirates
Ninja Pirates appeared as a mini-boss two times in Rayman 2, one in the Precipice and another in the Prison Ship. In Rayman Revolution they're Generator Guardians of the two generators of the Pirate Factory and have unlimited heath. In the PlayStation version, they appeared three times as mini-bosses in the Precipice, the Tomb of the Ancients, and Gloomy Island.
Description
They fire bullets that is the same as the Green Robo-Pirate, but has more accuracy and faster. They wear a red bandanna, has a black torso, has a clinder for a head, has a white eye, and an eye patch. Ninja Henchmen has a heavy hook for a weakness that is revealed in Rayman 2 of the PlayStation version. In Rayman 2 in other versions, Ninja Henchmen use a flamethrower or the Purple Robo-Pirate bullets. They have more life than all the other Robo-Pirates and appeared out of a cloud of dust trying to hook Rayman.
Role in Games
Rayman 2
Ninjaws and the Ninja Pirates first appeared in Rayman 2, they're hard to defeat and they serve as mini-bosses, but Ninjaws is a boss and has alot more life than his Ninja Henchmen.
Rayman Revolution
Ninjaws never appeared in Revolution, but two of his Ninja Henchmen did. They're renamed Generator Guardians and they guard the generators in the Generator Rooms of the Precipice and the Echoing Caves.
Trivia
*Ninjaws is the boss of the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire in the PlayStation version of Rayman 2.
