Betilla the Fairy is a major character from Rayman. She is a limbless fairy, who uses her magic to grant Rayman with special powers that will help him recover the stolen Great Protoon from the clutches of Mister Dark.

Video game appearances
Rayman
Before the invasion by Mister Dark, it was Betilla's job to keep the Great Protoon and the Electoons safe. Her protective powers were sadly no match for Dark's, and he defeated her while taking the Great Protoon with him. Following then, she would then have to wait for Rayman to find her from time to time, and give him one power at a time permanently to gradually build up his strength. She was later kidnapped herself by Mister Dark and trapped in a crystal ball, at a later point in the game, though the ending assumes that Rayman had rescued her along with the Great Protoon.

Educational games
Betilla makes a notable appearance in Rayman Junior, to assist the Magician in giving Rayman an overview on the tasks he has to complete in a level. She had witnessed the theft of the Great Book of Knowledge by Mister Dark one day as she was visiting the Magician's cottage. To allow the young player to practice, she has her own place on the world map called Betilla's Garden, which is a series of simplified maps that cover most of Rayman's abilities. Betilla is known to have appeared in other educational Rayman games for even younger children.

Character description
Betilla only shares a few attributes of a typical fairy, such as her ability to float in mid-air, and her ability to give Rayman his powers with her magic. She doesn't have wings, and doesn't appear to have elven ears. She has long red hair, and wears a green and yellow dress, hat and shoes covered with blue stars. Very little is known about her past much like the other characters in the games, but she appears to be a meditative and peaceful character (despite the chaos Mister Dark had caused upon the world), with plenty of wisdom to guide Rayman along the way and teach him to use his powers effectively.

Trivia
* Rayman 2: The Great Escape was about to feature a female character that bears a striking resemblance to Betilla, though in the final version she was replaced by Ly.
* Another character with some resemblance is Betina from the Animated series, but only the colours of her clothes and hair support this speculation.
* Although Betilla has not appeared in any Rayman game after educational versions of Rayman, her name is used as a leaderboard name in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.
* The ending of Rayman Junior reveals that she has an interest in knitting, as she was doing so while housesitting the Magician's cottage as he celebrated Rayman's victory.
Rigatoni is the main antagonist of Rayman: The Animated Series, and is a character that only appears in this. He is the ringmaster of an intergalactic circus that he takes to various cities, countries and planets, and along the way he orders his lackey, Admiral Razorbeard, to capture strange creatures as slaves for his circus. His most beloved circus freak is Lac-Mac, who is the star of his show.

He is an egotistical and greedy character, perhaps more so than Razorbeard, who treats his slaves very badly, and for fears that they will escape or get stolen, his circus has a large CCTV system which he uses to keep an eye on them. When Rayman sets himself and his friends free, Rigatoni instantly brands them all as criminals, and gets in contact with Inspector Grub to track them down in Aeropolis. He does not appear in any more episodes after the first episode, Lac-Mac Napping. He is voiced by Danny Mann.

Trivia
* Despite the fact that Rigatoni is a non-game character, he appears on a page in the collector's sticker book which came free with every copy of Rayman for the Game Boy Color. There is also a typo in this that spells his name as "Regatoni".
* His name is derived from a type of pasta, which suits the Italian Ringmaster stereotype, though he has more of a Brooklyn accent.
* Rigatoni bears a resemblance to a Hunter from Rayman.
Dream Forest is the first world in the game Rayman. It's also a level in the GBA version of Rayman Raving Rabbids. It consists of a luxuriant tropical forest which darkens as Rayman goes through it. The swamps encircle this universe of greenery and its wild flora. There are dancing flowers and mushrooms around which twirl blue butterflies, as well as bizarre trees, some of them being at the boundary between plants and fungi. Lianas Rayman can climb and flower and mushroom beds abound, as plums, recurrent fruits in the series, already allow him to pass through the marshes or to blind livingstones. There are also spiky fruits of all sizes, strange rocking flowers, and curious flying plants onto which Rayman can jump. Thanks to Tarayzan's magic seed, it is possible to grow similar plants.
Note that in the Rayman Junior games, a similar but deadly version of such plants exists, as well as thorn lianas.

During his trek in Dream Forest, Rayman will receive three powers from Betilla the Fairy. First of all, he'll learn to use his telescopic fist in Pink Plant Woods, then to hang onto ledges in Anguish Lagoon, and finally the grappling fist at the end of Moskito's Nest.
Rayman Raving Rabbids is a handheld version of Rayman Raving Rabbids that was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2006. Unlike the console version of the game, this is a 2D platformer that is in the same vein as Rayman 3 on Game Boy Advance.

Plot
Rayman is having a nap when the Rabbids suddenly appear and take Rayman to a jail cell, taking away his hands. With the help of Murfy, he manages to get his hands back and escape the jail, but not before fighting Pink's new toy: a giant Antitoon like being. After defeating it, Ly comes and gives Rayman a Gangsta costume which he can use to stomp the ground. At the village, Ly tells Rayman how the Rabbids used to be sweet, innocent creatures who were so kind the other animals made fun of them. Eventually the Rabbids could not take this anymore and planned their revenge. Rayman travels through five different worlds, beating the Rabbids and collecting more costumes, and eventually faces the Rabbids Mothership. Rayman stops the mothership and brings peace back to the world.

Characters
*Rayman: Rayman is back to save his world yet again. With all new powers, he is ready to defeat the Rabbids.
*Murfy: Murfy helps Rayman by telling him what things do and about them. He is not as rude as he was in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc but is still very jokey about things.
*Ly: Ly is a magical fairy who gives Rayman new costumes with powers that will help him throughout his adventure.
*Globox: Globox only makes a cameo in this game. At the first level in the jail cell, by hitting a switch you can free him from captivity.
*King Minimus & the Teensies: The Teensies, like Globox, only make a cameo role. By hitting a switch, you can free him captivity.
*The Rabbids: The Rabbids are the main enemy of the game. They used to be kind and caring creatures, but the other animals made fun of them and they soon had enough. They have been planning this attack since Rayman 1 and now they have finally striked.

I think the alignment should be changed to Neutral because in Rabbids Go Home, the Rabbids will be protagonists. 75.64.28.58 00:19, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
