Admiral Razorbeard's un-named Lackey is a Robo-Pirate from Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 2: Revolution, and Rayman DS.

Description
Razorbeard's Lackey looks different from the other Robo-Pirates. He looks more like a slightly-chubby pirate with a bandanna around his head. Like most Robo-Pirates, he is taller than Admiral Razorbeard.

Razorbeard's Lackey was in charge of the ground operations during Admiral Razorbeard's campaign. He was a mechanical genius, and created many dangerous devices.

Role in the Games
The lackey's role in the N64, PC, DC, and DS versions of Rayman 2 is very small. He appears in the cinematics where Razorbeard is informed of Rayman's whereabouts, but little more than that. In every game, however, he debuts in the cinematics prior to the Bayou.

PlayStation Version/Rayman 2: Revolution
In the two Sony versions of Rayman 2, the Lackey is given much more importance. At multiple points he encounters Rayman and brings with him a difficult challenge. The Lackey first strikes chronologically in Rayman 2: Revolution, in which he leads the attack on Clark and Rayman at the entrance to the Rainbow Creek. His next appearance, also Revolution-exclusive, is a boss fight: Razorbeard's lackey jumps into the Boss Biditank to personally battle Rayman. The lackey next encounters Rayman in both the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 versions at the end of the Tomb of the Ancients, where it is seen that the Lackey is controlling Clark via remote control. The lackey makes his final appearance solely in the PlayStation version at the end of the Gloomy Island, where he makes his last attempt to get rid of Rayman with his remote control Dinosaur. Unfortunately, he forgot to put gas in the robotic dinosaur and the Baby Globoxes escaped with Rayman. This is the only time dialogue occurs between the Lackey and Rayman.

Before the final boss, Razorbeard says he will punish him for his failures by making him swim in molten lava.

The Robo-Pirates (or Henchmen) are an army of robotic pirates that invaded Rayman's world in Rayman 2. They all willingly serve Admiral Razorbeard, but do seem to have their own personalities.
Appearance
The majority of the Henchmen are largely the same. Their head is like a metallic skull with an earring on one side. Also, one eye is completely black, as if they have an eye patch. Their torso basically consists of a cube-like shape with a coloured vest on it. The vest is slightly torn at the bottom. They have two arms, both of which end in a cylinder-like structure. On one side, the cylinder is hollow - this is where they fire their bullets from. The other side has a large hook, which they often use for swiping at close range. Their two legs have striped pants that are similar to the vest in that they are torn at the bottom. Their feet are basically black shoes with gold-ish buckles on them.

Models
There are many different pirate models, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Basic Henchman
The basic Henchman are the standard model, that come in different colours and have different weapons, but all look largely the same. They sometimes appear in the level by parachuting or drilling up through the ground. More than often they are found sleeping on the job. The Henchman 800s are the most common of the Basic Henchman.

Green
These have a green vest with green and white striped pants. They have very little health and generally just stand still and slowly shoot, however they sometimes throw powder kegs. In the PlayStation version, however, they have a lot of life, making them difficult to kill, but only ever throw kegs.

Blue
They're the same as the Green Henchmen, except blue instead of green and has a little life. They appeared in Rayman 2 and Rayman DS at the Fairy Glade and the Lost Island. The Blue Henchmen are the uncommon Henchman 800s. The Blue Henchmen never appeared in Rayman Revolution.

Purple
These are much like the Green Henchmen, except purple instead of green, and they have much more life. Their bullets are often larger, and they have a habit of firing multiple bullets in quick succession. They move around a bit, sometimes jumping to dodge Rayman's attacks. In the PlayStation version, their bullets are the same but are always fired in sets of three, in between running back and forth. They have more life in the PlayStation version, but not as much as the Green Henchmen.

Yellow/Orange
The Yellow Henchmen have much more life, but move very little. Instead of bullets, they launch streams of fire, which move very quickly, and also throw cannonballs which start a fire where they land which causes damage when Rayman walks on it. Yellow Henchmen do not appear in the PlayStation version, but are instead replaced with Orange Henchmen. The Orange Henchmen have more life, and move around a lot via their drills. They don't throw cannonballs, and instead of a fire stream, just shoot large fireballs.

Red
These are the strongest of the standard Henchmen, and appear with red vests and red and yellow stripes on their pants. They fire missiles which can home in on Rayman, but can be destroyed by Rayman's attacks. Red Henchmen have lots of life. However, in the PlayStation version, their rank is inverted and they have very little life and fire only basic shots. Two Red Henchmen are used as the bodyguards in front of Razorbeard's cabin, even in the PlayStation version. Two of them (likely the same two) also carry Globox to his prison cell in the opening movie. Later on, one of the bodyguards puts his foot out to trip Razorbeard's Lackey, proving that they might have a personality.

Henchman 1000
Main article: Henchman 1000<br>

An older version of the Henchman 800. These types of robo-pirates are similar to the newer ones, but with a retro design and a fake mustasche. They have a hand on their right arm instead of a hook, and they are wearing a paper hat. These pirates usually say spanish stuff (when they talk). They have only been seen once, as an unlockable character in Rayman M. The Henchman 1000 main theme is country rock.

Zombie Henchmen
Main article: Zombie Henchman<br>

These are old pirates that have been wrecked and rusted, but still walk. Their vests are a pale, rotted yellow, and one of their feet are missing. In additino, their hook hangs limply off the arm and both eyes are black. As a result of their state, they don't move around very well, and walk in a zombie-like manner. Instead of shooting from their arm, the Zombie Henchmen breathes a green poisonous gas towards Rayman. Zombie Henchmen are very difficult to destroy, as when they appear to be dead, they get up again a few moments later. These are found in Rayman 2: Revolution.

Ninjaws and the Ninja Henchmen
Main article: Ninjaws<br>

The Ninja Pirates are very similar to the others, but have a few notable appearance traits and abilities that make them very different. Ninjaws is seemingly the elite of them, who at one point returns to Razorbeard's cabin claiming to have captured 5000 slaves. They are more or less completely black and look a little less square. Their heads appear very different. Instead of a skull, it appears as a tall cylinder topped with a red bandanna. Ninja Henchmen have a lot of life, and have the ability to vanish and then reappear somewhere else in a cloud of dust. They either appear near Rayman and try to hook Rayman, or appear standing back more and try to shoot him. Sometimes they will teleport quickly to different places around Rayman while shooting, surrounding him with bullets. Their weakness is that their hooks are very heavy. If they miss, it gives Rayman an opportunity to attack. In Rayman 2: Revolution, two can be seen in Razorbeard's cabin. Later on, they defend the two generators that power the shield at the pirate factory, and once the generators are destroyed, the Ninja Henchmen are no longer seen next to Razorbeard.

Gorilla Pirate
Main article: Ape Pirate<br>

The Gorilla Pirates are so named because of their similarities to an ape or gorilla, in both appearance and behaviour. they are very bulky, and where a blue and white striped shirt. they can not be hurt by Rayman's attacks, so usually the idea is to lure them off a cliff or ledge, or to throw a plum at their head and use it as a platform.

Barrel Pirate
Main article: Barrel Pirate<br>

The Barrel Pirates consist of a large barrel with legs, a cannon on top, and a slit with eyes inside. Sometimes they are found disguising themselves, as the slit can be closed and the legs can be withdrawn. In this state, they just look like a barrel and a cannon. Their attacks differ from version to version. On the PlayStation version, they simply fire sets of three large balls of electricity. In Rayman 2: Revolution however, they fire bolts of lightning that can only be avoided by hiding behind something. In this version, they also launch cannonballs, similar to those used by the yellow henchmen, only it uses a poisonous gas instead of fire. One thing that is consistent in each version is their large amount of life.

Razorbeard's Lackey
Main article: Admiral Razorbeard's Lackey<br>

This is the pirate who carries out many of Razorbeard's orders. He is unarmed, although his arms are very similar to a typical Henchman's, except with ordinary hands. his body consists of two rough cubes, the lower one larger than the top. The lower one has the legs sticking out of it and a pair of green pants. His head is a basic cube with an opening mouth and a red bandanna. Although he has no weapons, he still causes Rayman trouble. Carrying out Razorbeard's orders, he drives the Warships which pursue Rayman. He also controls Clark at one point via remote control, as well as a giant bird-like robot called the Dinosaur in the same manner. Also, in Rayman 2: Revolution, he controls a hemispherical vehicle called the Boss Biditank.

Pirate Vehicles
The Warships
Warships are flying ships that attack Rayman in The Bayou, The Canopy, and The Precipice. They usually fire slow moving homing bombs that move about like a helicopter, and can be easily destroyed by Rayman's attacks. They also fire cannonballs, but these are not usually aimed at Rayman, but instead at platforms to blow them away. They may also launch walking shells that run towards Rayman upon landing.

The Dinosaur
The Dinosaur is a giant bird-like robot controlled by Razorbeard's Lackey. It is only ever named in the PlayStation version, but does appear in the others. It often pecks the ground like a chicken. The Dinosaur is notable for periodically jumping high, and upon landing, causes objects to bounce off the ground. Also, when Rayman is on the shell, it chases after him, and runs faster than the shell when going in a straight line, but lacks agility. The Dinosaur is not destroyed, although in the PlayStation version it runs out of fuel.

The Biditank
This is a tank-like vehicle that takes the shape of a hemisphere. It is driven by Razorbeard's Lackey in the pirate factory in Rayman 2: Revolution, and travels on wheels located underneath it. It fires the same kind of propeller bombs as the Warship as well as a machine gun-like weapon. Also, it can use an attack like that of the Barrel Pirates, at which point Rayman must hide behind something. It can only be damaged by activating a powerful gun and using it to fire at the tank.
Trivia
*The Red Henchmen were sometimes called Red Rum.

The Tomb of the Ancients is a location in the Glade of Dreams.

Description
The Tomb of the Ancients, in short, is a haunted graveyard within a cave. There are many tombstones and wooden dolls around here. The place is filled with green, poisonous water. The walls and ground are made of dark rock with a bluish tinge on them. You can hardly ever see any sky here, although when you can, you see a blackened, creepy sky. This place is haunted by Zombie Chickens, Piranhas and Bats.

In Rayman 2: The Great Escape/Rayman Revolution/Rayman DS, the Pirates use this place for one of their strongholds, meaning a lot of wood and Robo-Pirates themselves.

Role in the games
Rayman visits the Tomb of the Ancients in Rayman 2: The Great Escape/Revolution/DS towards the end of the game. A secret 1000th Yellow Lum is hidden here. At the end of the level, Rayman meets up with Clark. Unfortunately, Admiral Razorbeard's Lackey has attached a device to the back of Clark which lets him control him! After a short battle, Rayman destroys the device and Clark is restored to normal. In Rayman Revolution only, Rayman recieves a device at the very end of the level which shows him the direction to any nearby Lums.
Ninjaws is the elite of the Ninja Henchmen and he's the same as the Ninja Henchmen. Ninjaws reported to Admiral Razorbeard in Razorbeard's cabin that he captured more than 5000 slaves in the PlayStation version of Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Razorbeard ordered Ninjaws and his Ninja Pirates to kill Rayman, but they were defeated by Rayman.
Ninja Henchmen/Black Robo-Pirates
Ninja Pirates appeared as a mini-boss two times in Rayman 2, one in the Precipice and another in the Prison Ship. In Rayman Revolution they're Generator Guardians of the two generators of the Pirate Factory and have unlimited heath. In the PlayStation version, they appeared three times as mini-bosses in the Precipice, Tomb of the Ancients, and Gloomy Island.
Description
They fire bullets that is the same as the green Henchman 800, but has more accuracy and faster. They wear a red bandanna, has a black torso, has a clinder for a head, has a white eye, and an eye patch. Ninja Henchmen has a heavy hook for a weakness that is revealed in Rayman 2 of the PlayStation version. In Rayman 2 in other versions, Ninja Henchmen use a flamethrower or the Purple Henchmen bullets. They have more life than all the other Robo-Pirates and appeared out of a cloud of dust trying to hook Rayman.

The Precipice is a level in Rayman 2, notable for having similar gameplay to The Bayou.

Description
Part 1
This level takes place in a wide canyon, where Rayman is in pursuit by the Robot Pirate army shooting bombs and shells at him. He has to escape them by running across a weak pier, climbing on nets, and jump whenever bits of it are blasted off.

Part 2
Rayman enters a cave and follows another wooden pier, which leads him to a tower the Pirates built that sinks under rising water (reminiscent to the flooding levels in the original Rayman), while bombs and rolling kegs try to slow him down.

Part 3
Rayman comes out somewhere else in the canyon, and is still in pursuit across wooden piers. There is then a cave with a bottomless pit, which Rayman has to glide through until he lands on another pier. At the end of this, he ends up on a pirate stronghold which was built over a cliff, still under attack by a Ninja Pirate and bombs. Once the pirate is defeated, Rayman can exit after freeing the Teensie.

The Grand Minimus are four Teensies from Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 2: Revolution (to a lesser extent), Rayman M (in which two are playable), Rayman Rush, and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. They are notable for ruling the Teensie race and overseeing the Hall of Doors/Teensie Circles. As a general rule, the Grand Minimus' main role in Rayman 2 and Rayman 3 occurs at the end of the first world.

Description
The Grand Minimus was originally composed of the King of the Teensies and three other Teensies assumably of relation to the king (such as friends, advisors, relatives, etc.; their relation is never given). However, after Admiral Razorbeard locked them up in the Forest of Light the Minimus soon forgot which one was the king. In fact, not even the king himself could remember! The Minimus later decided that, being as it was nearly impossible to determine who was king, all four would rule over the Teensies.

The Grand Minimus live deep in the Fairy Council, though they have been known to travel to the Forest of Light every now and then.

All four of the Minimus wear refined green robes, and at least one has a tall crown on his head. As seen in Rayman 2: Revolution, the Grand Minimus have a talkative personality and enjoy gossiping about recent news. Also, it is seen in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc that the Minimus have a taste for disco, and enjoy the company of a disco ball and many other disco-loving subjects in their chamber, dancing day and night.

In Rayman 2, it is soon confirmed that the Grand Minimus are the guardians of the Hall of Doors, assigned by Polokus himself after being created for that purpose. They are wise and powerful, though they seldom show it. Similar to Ly the Fairy, at least one member of the Grand Minimus is capable of creating Silver Lums. One is used by the Grand Minimus in Rayman 2, while a second is additionally used in Revolution. As may be seen in Rayman 3, the Grand Minimus also have the responsibility of guarding the Heart of the World, which resides in their throne room.

Role in the Games
Rayman 2
The Grand Minimus makes their debut appearance when Rayman destroys the cage at the end of the Forest of Light. Rayman hopes to ask them as to the whereabouts of Ly the Fairy, but is unsuccessful as the Minimus is distracted by the fact that they are unable to agree on who the real king is. After repeatedly grabbing the single crown from eachother's head and declaring to be king, Rayman gets frustrated and interrupts their clammor. Intimidated and worrisome as to Ly's bad news, the Teensies hush immediately and hesitantly back away. The last Teensie standing forward is quickly handed the crown.

Rayman 2/Rayman DS
The king then gives Rayman the bad news about Ly, but explains that Ly is being held nearby in the Fairy Glade. If Rayman has already collected five Yellow Lums, he will have collected enough energy to revitalize the king's magic powers. However, if Rayman is missing just one Lum, the king will send Rayman back to get the rest.

Magic restored, the king gives Rayman a good-bye speech before creating a Silver Lum. The Silver Lum drops down into a nearby abyss and explodes into a giant Magic Spiral Door. Rayman leaps into the door and leaves the Teensies.

Rayman next encounters the Grand Minimus as he enters the Sanctuary of Water and Ice level (Whale Bay in the PS Version). By now, the Grand Minimus have done some thinking, and have decided that all four would share being king. Standing in a line, each king would say a few sentences before walking to the end of the line as the next Teensie takes the crown and then takes his turn being king. Considering Rayman has enough Lums, the Grand Minimus open the doors to the Sanctuary. This sequence occurs again before the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire and Sanctuary of Rock and Lava levels.

The Grand Minimus is last seen in the final scene following the Crow's Nest.

Rayman 2: Revolution
Following acquisition of the crown, the king explains that both Globox and Ly the Fairy were captured by the Robo-Pirate Army. The Grand Minimus hasn't the slightest clue where Globox is, but believe that the Teensie at the Minisaurus Plains' Teensie Circle knows where Ly was taken. Considering Rayman has five Yellow Lums collected, the king creates a Silver Lum and sends it towards Rayman. Rayman then excitedly learns the Magic Fist ability. The king hops onto a pedestal and creates a second Silver Lum, which drops into a nearby void. The Lum explodes and turns into a Magic Spiral Door. After giving a farewell speech, the Grand Minimus see Rayman off to the Front.

Unlike Rayman 2, in Revolution the Grand Minimus is not seen again until the final scene following the Crow's Nest.

Rayman M/Rayman Rush
Two of the four Teensies in the Grand Minimus participate in the races and battles of Rayman M as one of the initial playable characters. Being that Teensies are considerably short, the two Teensies race by carrying one on top of the other. Rayman M was the first game to give the sovereign Teensies the name "Grand Minimus."

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
In Rayman 3, the Grand Minimus make their brief appearance at the end of the Fairy Council world. Rayman chases Andre and eventually arrives at their throne room, only to find it full of dancing Teensies and flashing disco lights. At the other end of the room, the Grand Minimus have Globox in their clutches. As Rayman approaches them, the Minimus tell him that Globox cannot stay in the throne room for fear that Andre could escape. To save Globox, the Grand Minimus open a portal to the Teensie Highway and explain to Rayman that he must take Globox to the Teensie Doctor in the Clearleaf Forest.

Look-Alikes
In Revolution and Rayman 3, similar-looking crowned Teensies make frequent appearances. It is generally regarded that this is not the Minimus, as there are more crowned Teensies than there are in the Minimus. However, it is unknown how the Crowned Teensies are related to the Grand Minimus.

Trivia
*Of all the characters in Rayman 2, the Grand Minimus undergo the greatest voice change between the PS version of Rayman 2 and Revolution. In the PS Rayman 2, they sound like wise old men, while in Revolution they have high-pitched, squeaky voices.
*Rayman 2s Grand Minimus theme song includes ceaseless murmurs by the Teensies, subtly indicating the talkative personality further explored in Revolution.
*Rayman 3s Grand Minimus theme song reflects the music style of the American 60's.

The Iron Mountains (also known as Gloomy Island) is a level in Rayman 2: The Great Escape. It is where the last Mask of Polokus is found despite not necessarily being a sanctuary.

Description
This level is set high up in the mountainous regions of the Glade of Dreams where a number of pirate strongholds are built. Deep in the canyons nearby are mines in which a large number of Baby Globoxes are held captive.

Phase 1
Rayman is outside a metalworks building with a generator room inside, and he has to shoot two switches to deactivate an electric field and go down the middle of a rotating machine and into a pipe that leads to a grassy area. Going though another tunnel past a swampy lake, there is another pirate stronghold which Rayman has to jump from the top and glide down a rapid river. At the edge is a hot air balloon which Rayman hops in and rides.

Phase 2
He then lands in a field with yet another stronghold, which is this time guarded by an invincible giant robot that resembles a dinosaur or perhaps a chicken. The robot is so heavy, everytime it jumps it sends objects in the air, making it useful for Rayman to infiltrate the stronghold, which has a few baby Globoxes are held captive. Rayman soon finds a walking shell and has to ride all over the place to collect Yellow Lums and find two switches to release the babies.

Phase 3
Deep in a canyon Rayman has to cross a polluted pond, and he'll eventually meet Uglette, Globox's wife, who is upset by the fact that more of her babies are missing and held in the mines. The player then takes control of a pirate ship and has to fly it around the canyons and find the four mines. When all of mines are visited, the ship has to go back to Uglette and reunite the babies. One of them withdraws the last mask from its mouth and gives it to Rayman.

Version differences
* In the PlayStation version of Rayman 2, this level is renamed to Gloomy Island, Uglette appeared in the first cutscene and the last cutscene, and the part with the pirate ship is removed.
* In Rayman Revolution, Rayman is given the Rain Mask instead, and has to fight Grolem 13 in order to get the final mask.
Description
Hood Stomper is a Hoodlum on a stomping machine. He can squash Rayman if Rayman doesn't hit three switches for a shock rocket. If three of the five switches is activated, Rayman gets a shock rocket to damage Master Kaag. Repeat this two more times to defeat him.
