It was later re-released as a PlayStation 2 classic on the PlayStation 3 in North America. Several changes have been made for this version, notably the upgraded graphics, the inclusion of new areas, bosses and mini-games. These areas allow free roaming, making ''Revolution'' a much less linear game than the previous versions. New cutscenes and dialogue had been added here, giving the player a more complete picture of the story. In addition, new characters are introduced such as [[Bzzit]], and [[Rayman]] can acquire new powers, items and abilities, such as the ones he can buy with the [[Yellow Lum]]s he collected at the [[Magic Well]], the equivalent of a typical item shop.

The regular music tracks for each level do not play when [[Rayman]] revisits them, instead simply featuring an ambiance track. Certain pieces of music still appear, most notably during the sections with more action, such as [[the Precipice]] and when engaged in battle with [[Robo-Pirate]]s. ==Description==
Ninja Henchmen appear to be part of their own elite squadron in the [[Robo-Pirate]] army, the low number encountered in the duration of the game suggests that they are only deployed for more special missions. They are amongst the most formidable [[Robo-Pirate]]s that [[Rayman]] will encounter, with many techniques at their disposal.

Physically, they share a similar body structure to that of the [[Henchman 800]], however, their individual body parts differ in shape and design. Unlike the [[Henchman 800]], Ninja Henchmen appear to have hands clasped into fists, they hold a golden hook on their right hand, and can fire various projectiles with their left. Their legs are thicker than a [[Henchman 800]]'s, and are decorated with golden patterns. In terms of dress, Ninja Henchmen wear a red bandana, a patch on their right eye, a tight black clothing, a great belt strap and black shoes with gold square buckle. Their visible eye is coloured white in-game, but promotional artwork from ''[[Rayman M]]'' has it coloured green akin to the green eye seen on many [[Henchman 800]] models.

Ninja Henchmen only make two appearances in the original version of ''[[Rayman 2]]'', both as mini-bosses.

The first one is encountered at the end of [[the Precipice]], in a [[Robo-Pirate]] establishment with a docked [[warship]]. In order to be able to unlock a door to reach the exit [[Spiral Door]], this Ninja Henchman must be defeated. It will attack [[Rayman]] by firing large conical projectiles akin to those fired by some models of [[Henchman 800]], it will also swipe at [[Rayman]] with its hook should he be within range. A good technique to quickly defeat this Ninja Henchman is to have the docked [[warship]] shoot at the Ninja Henchman accidentally as it attempts to shoot at [[Rayman]].

The second Ninja Henchman is encountered within the interior of [[the Prison Ship]], where it will need to be defeated in order to have a [[flying shell]] spawn for [[Rayman]] to progress. This Ninja Henchman is more formidable than the first, as it will leap away from sight after an attack, and can then land at any point to resume its attack, including where [[Rayman]] stands and causing him to be momentarily flattened. It can attack by throwing fire balls, in addition to also swiping its hook at [[Rayman]], should he be close enough. A [[Power Fist]] is close to where this Ninja Henchman is encountered, which will help in dealing more damage when the Ninja Henchman is open to attack.

Ninja Henchmen feature more prominently in this version of the game, where it is revealed that they are their own unique squad within the [[Robo-Pirate]] army. Their leader is also revealed to be [[Ninjaws]], who will personally fight [[Rayman]] as the boss of [[the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire]], to prevent him from gaining possession of [[Four Masks of Polokus|the second mask of Polokus]]. Another three Ninja Henchmen make appearances as mini-bosses in [[the Precipice]], [[the Tomb of the Ancients]], and [[Gloomy Island]].

[[Ninjaws]] and the Ninja Henchmen in this game all employ the same technique, they will disappear and reappear after every attack. Their main tactic is to try and appear close to [[Rayman]] and hit him with their hooks, dodging this attack successfully is vital, as it is revealed by [[Umber]] that their hooks are heavy. It is due to this heaviness that the Ninja Henchmen will momentarily struggle to lift their hooks, should [[Rayman]] dodge them, and thus, give him an opening to retaliate. In addition to this attack, they will also periodically fire yellow energy projectiles at [[Rayman]]. When sufficiently damaged, they will disappear and reappear in a circular pattern, firing a projectile each time they reappear, before returning to attacking with their hooks.

Hello everyone!

My name is Aaron. I'm Hungarian and a passionate fan of the Rayman series. My favorite Rayman game is Rayman Revolution. The graphics are beautiful, the soundtrack is great and the gameplay is very fun. How I got to know Rayman was in 2014 when I played the PS1 version of Rayman 2. I was 10 years old at that time and I was really scared of the spiders in it (and I'm still a bit scared of them now though not as much). I remember that at that time, I couldn't beat the game because while I have beaten every other level, the last one was too difficult for me as it was the level that had the final boss in it, Razorbeard, and Razorbeard was just too hard to defeat for me but I was determined so I kept trying over and over again until I eventually gave up and asked my brother if he could help me with Stage 2 of the boss since I've tried so many times but still couldn't get it. I completed most of the game myself, it was only for that last bit that my brother helped me. And that's how I beat the game, lol.

Personally my all-time favorite Rayman game is Rayman 2. Rayman 2 will always be the best game in the series in my opinion. I just love the dark and scary, but straightforward story and the magical atmosphere, that godly overworld theme, the likeable, funny characters, and while the game is linear and all that, the gameplay is intense (especially in the Cave of Bad Dreams' sliding segment and where the spider is chasing you in The Canopy). Overall, I just love it. I also love it partially because of the memories I've had with the game. My two other favorites are tied for second: Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins. Both are amazing too like Rayman 2 in my opinion.

== Consoles I own ==
I used to own a PS1 Slim but I figured I don't need it because the other console I own is a PS2 and those are backward compatible with PS1 games. I still have the official red PlayStation memory card that I always used to have with it (in case I still want to play my PS1 games in the future of course). Also, because my PS1 memory card is red, I thought it would be fitting to own an official red memory card for my PlayStation 2 as well. So I now own that as well. Anyway, back to consoles, the other console I happen to own is an original PS2 Fat. My name is Aaron. I'm Hungarian and a passionate fan of the Rayman series. The only Rayman game I don't like is... you guessed it. Raving Rabbids. How I got to know Rayman was in 2014 when I played the PS1 version of Rayman 2. I was 10 years old at that time and I was really scared of the spiders in it (and I'm still a bit scared of them now though not as much). I remember that at that time, I couldn't beat the game because while I have beaten every other level, the last one was too difficult for me as it was the level that had the final boss in it, Razorbeard. And Razorbeard was just way too difficult to beat but I was determined so I kept trying over and over again until I eventually gave up and asked my brother if he could help me with Stage 2 of the boss. As I said, I completed most of the game myself, only for that last bit my brother helped me. And that's how I beat the game. Stage 2 is still kinda difficult for me.

Overall, I just love it. I also love it partially because of the memories I've had with the game. My two other favorites are tied for second: Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins. Both are amazing too like Rayman 2 in my opinion.

I used to own a PS1 Slim but I figured I don't need it because the other console I own is a PS2 and those are backward compatible with PS1 games. I still have the official red PlayStation memory card that I always used to have with it (in case I still want to play my PS1 games in the future of course). Also, because my PS1 memory card is red, I thought it would be fitting to own an official red memory card for my PlayStation 2 as well. So I now own that as well. Anyway, back to consoles, the other console I happen to own is an original PS2 Fat. Its exclusive limited distribution in the Metropolitan France territory makes this collection very hard to find nowadays; despite of some of the figures being found in the French eBay. It was discovered in 11 April 2014 that existed a silver coloured and golden coloured variants of the "[[Rayman]] sitting on a [[plum]]" figure. Whoever was getting the silver figure, he/she would be awarded with a PC copy of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]'' and whoever was getting the golden figure, he/she would be awarded with a top-range computer along with the PC copy of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]". This contest was described in the Happy Meal bags, that contained and a ''[[Rayman 2]]'' artwork of [http://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:Menhir_Hills.jpg Rayman riding a Walking Shell]. If a person was getting a Happy Meal bag with [[Rayman]] blinking an eye in the artwork, he/she would get a power card with tips and tricks of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]''. It is said that few hundreds of units were created worldwide for the ''[[Rayman 3]]'''s Press Kit, which contained some straw, a costumized box, a press dossier, two press discs and an artwork book. It is one of the rarest [[Rayman (series)|Rayman]] items that are known to exist. The statue was briefly found for selling in Pix 'N' Love's online store but it quickly sold out as soon as it was discovered. This little statue also makes a cameo in the "Fact number 2 of Bunnies very useful scientific facts: Bunnies don't do vacuum cleaning".

Much like the resin ''[[Rayman 3]]'' statue, it depicts [[Rayman]] [[Grimace|grimacing]] on top of a [[mushroom]], which stands on a green base with "RAYMAN" sculpted on the front, with the bottom of the figure reading "Métropole collections/M6 Interactions, Designed by Neamedia". The material it is made out of is unknown, although it is fairly heavy and solid, much like clay or polystone. It is a considerably rare piece of [[Rayman (series)|''Rayman'']] merchandise, with appearances on eBay being extremely infrequent and only three members of the fanbase known to own one.

Both versions of the plush have different facial expressions: the small version represents a neutral expression of [[Rayman]] while the medium version represents an angry expression of [[Rayman]].

Oddly enough, the cloth tag at the rear end of the plush bears the ''Rayman 3'' logo, yet the only feature that is based on the style in said game is the red hood - the rest of the plush's features are based on the ''Rayman 2'' design.

They are believed to have been distributed by [http://www.pbpes.es/company.html Play By Play], a plush toy company based in Spain, according to the cloth tag.

The medallion is made out of metal. Above, “Rayman 20th Anniversary” is written on the edges. Below, “1995 - 2015” is written, still on the edges. On the right and left edges, there are stars. The medallion contains [[Rayman]], who's wearing sunglasses, and a palm tree. On the back of the medallion, there is the [[Ubisoft]] logo. How I got to know Rayman was in 2014 when I played the PS1 version of Rayman 2. I was 10 years old at that time and I was really scared of the spiders in it (and I'm still a bit scared of them now though not as much). I remember that at that time, I couldn't beat the game because while I have beaten every other level, the last one was too difficult for me as it was the level that had the final boss in it, Razorbeard. And Razorbeard was just way too difficult to beat but I was determined so I kept trying over and over again until I eventually gave up and asked my brother if he could help me with Stage 2 of the boss. As I said, I completed most of the game myself, only for that last bit my brother helped me. And that's how I beat the game. Stage 2 is still kinda difficult for me.

Overall, I just love it. I also love it partially because of the memories I've had with the game. My two other favorites are tied for second: Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins. Both are amazing too like Rayman 2 in my opinion.

I used to own a PS1 Slim but I figured I don't need it because the other console I own is a PS2 and those are backward compatible with PS1 games. I still have the official red PlayStation memory card that I always used to have with it (in case I still want to play my PS1 games in the future of course). Also, because my PS1 memory card is red, I thought it would be fitting to own an official red memory card for my PlayStation 2 as well. So I now own that as well. Anyway, back to consoles, the other console I happen to own is an original PS2 Fat. I used to own a PS1 Slim but I figured I don't need it because the other console I own is a PS2 and those are backward compatible with PS1 games. I still have the official red PlayStation memory card that I always used to have with it (in case I still want to play my PS1 games in the future of course). Also, because my PS1 memory card is red, I thought it would be fitting to own an official red memory card for my PlayStation 2 as well. So I now own that as well. Anyway, back to consoles, the other console I happen to own is an original PS2 Fat. I've been having this problem with the game for years now. I just can't figure out what you're supposed to do in this game. I mean, I see Rayman trapped in a cage and Cullcut himself, but I just don't know what to do. I've clicked all the levers, the little Murfy face at the bottom (it doesn't do anything) and I can see that there's a score counter and a level counter so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Hello everyone!

My name is Aaron. I'm Hungarian and a passionate fan of the Rayman series. The only Rayman game I don't like is... you guessed it. Raving Rabbids. The game I'm playing with the most currently is Rayman Revolution for the PS2. I just love it! The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, the soundtrack is great and the overall gameplay is awesome. I mainly love it because it includes much more exploration than TGE, and the exclusive challenges and minigames (such as BBFoot (also known as Baby Football) and Waterski Challenge).

== My first experience with ''[[Rayman (series)|Rayman]]'' ==
How I got to know Rayman was in 2014 when I played the PS1 version of Rayman 2. I was 10 years old at that time and I was really scared of the spiders in it (and I'm still a bit scared of them now though not as much). I remember that at that time, I couldn't beat the game because while I have beaten every other level, the last one was too difficult for me as it was the level that had the final boss in it, Razorbeard. And Razorbeard was just way too difficult to beat but I was determined so I kept trying over and over again until I eventually gave up and asked my brother if he could help me with Stage 2 of the boss. As I said, I completed most of the game myself, only for that last bit my brother helped me. And that's how I beat the game. Stage 2 is still kinda difficult for me.

Personally my all-time favorite Rayman game is Rayman 2. Rayman 2 will always be the best game in the series in my opinion. I just love the dark and scary, but straightforward story and the magical atmosphere, that godly overworld theme, the likeable, funny characters, and while the game is linear and all that, the gameplay is intense (especially in the Cave of Bad Dreams' sliding segment and where the spider is chasing you in The Canopy). Overall, I just love it. I also love it partially because of the memories I've had with the game. My two other favorites are tied for second: Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins. Both are amazing too like Rayman 2 in my opinion.

== Consoles I own ==
I used to own a PS1 Slim but I figured I don't need it because the other console I own is a PS2 and those are backward compatible with PS1 games. I still have the official red PlayStation memory card that I always used to have with it (in case I still want to play my PS1 games in the future of course). Also, because my PS1 memory card is red, I thought it would be fitting to own an official red memory card for my PlayStation 2 as well. So I now own that as well. Anyway, back to consoles, the other console I happen to own is an original PS2 Fat. While I'm clearly unable to show any pictures of my PS1 Slim, here are some pictures of my PS2 Fat (please excuse the bad quality as I took these images with my tablet's camera):

== Rayman 2 (PlayStation) ==
I was thinking that we should probably have a separate article for the PlayStation version of the game due to how different it is. Considering we have articles for ports such as the DS and 3DS ones, which were left mostly intact, it would make sense to have one of the PlayStation version as it was basically created from scratch. Playing through the game again now on my PS Vita I'm noticing once again just how far the changes go with the port.

Personally my all-time favorite Rayman game is Rayman 2. Rayman 2 will always be the best game in the series in my opinion. I just love the dark and scary, but straightforward story and the magical atmosphere, that godly overworld theme, the likeable, funny characters, and while the game is linear and all that, the gameplay is intense (especially in the Cave of Bad Dreams' sliding segment and where the spider is chasing you in The Canopy). Overall, I just love it. I also love it partially because of the memories I've had with the game. My two other favorites are tied for second: Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins. Both are amazing too like Rayman 2 in my opinion.

I used to own a PS1 Slim but I figured I don't need it because the other console I own is a PS2 and those are backward compatible with PS1 games. I still have the official red PlayStation memory card that I always used to have with it (in case I still want to play my PS1 games in the future of course). Also, because my PS1 memory card is red, I thought it would be fitting to own an official red memory card for my PlayStation 2 as well. So I now own that as well. I was 10 years old at that time and I was really scared of the spiders in it (and I'm still a bit scared of them now though not as much). I remember that at that time, I couldn't beat the game because while I have beaten every other level, the last one was too difficult for me as it was the level that had the final boss in it, Razorbeard. And Razorbeard was just way too difficult to beat but I was determined so I kept trying over and over again until I eventually gave up and asked my brother if he could help me with Stage 2 of the boss. As I said, I completed most of the game myself, only for that last bit my brother helped me. And that's how I beat the game. Stage 2 is still kinda difficult for me.

The game I'm playing with the most currently is Rayman Revolution for the PS2. I just love it! The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, the soundtrack is great and the overall gameplay is awesome. I mainly love it because it includes much more exploration than TGE, and the exclusive challenges and minigames (such as BBFoot (also known as Baby Football) and Waterski Challenge).

== My first experience with Rayman==
How I got to know Rayman was in 2014 when I played the PS1 version of Rayman 2. I was 10 years old at that time and I was really scared of the spiders in it (and I'm still a bit scared of them now though not as much). I remember that at that time, I couldn't beat the game because while I have beaten every other level, the last one was too difficult for me as it was the level that had the final boss in it, Razorbeard. And Razorbeard was just way too difficult to beat but I was determined so I kept trying over and over again until I eventually gave up and asked my brother if he could help me with Stage 2 of the boss. As I said, I completed most of the game myself, only for that last bit my brother helped me. And that's how I beat the game. Stage 2 is still kinda difficult for me.

Personally my all-time favorite Rayman game is Rayman 2. Rayman 2 will always be the best game in the series in my opinion. I just love the dark and scary, but straightforward story and the magical atmosphere, that godly overworld theme, the likeable, funny characters, and while the game is linear and all that, the gameplay is intense (especially in the Cave of Bad Dreams' sliding segment and where the spider is chasing you in The Canopy). Overall, I just love it. I also love it partially because of the memories I've had with the game. My two other favorites are tied for second: Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins. Both are amazing too like Rayman 2 in my opinion.
