The [[Rayman]] 20th anniversary medallion is one of the prizes of the “I love Rayman” contest. It could also be gained by sending “!raffle” in the chat of the [[Rayman]] 20th anniversary live stream. [[Ubisoft]]'s employees have all received this medallion.

The medallion is made out of metal. Above, “Rayman 20th Anniversary” is written on the edges. Below, “1995 - 2015” is written, still on the edges. On the right and left edges, there are stars. The medallion contains [[Rayman]], who’s wearing sunglasses, and a palm tree. On the back of the medallion, there is the [[Ubisoft]] logo. On the edges, stars have been replaced by circles, above “Rayman 20th Anniversary” is again written and below it is written “[[Ubisoft]] Studios in France”.

The French restaurants of McDonald's did a Happy Meal promotion of six ''[[Rayman 2]]'' figures between the 17th May of 2000 and the 13th June of 2000 - at least one complete collection is known to be owned by a member of the fanbase. Its exclusive limited distribution in the Metropolitan France territory makes this collection very hard to find nowadays; despite of some of the figures being found in the French eBay. It was discovered in 11th April of 2014 that existed a silver coloured and golden coloured variants of the "[[Rayman]] sitting on a [[plum]]" figure. Whoever was getting the silver figure, he/she would be awarded with a PC copy of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]'' and whoever was getting the golden figure, he/she would be awarded with a top-range computer along with the PC copy of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]". This contest was described in the Happy Meal bags, that contained and a ''[[Rayman 2]]'' artwork of [http://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:Menhir_Hills.jpg Rayman riding a Walking Shell]. If a person was getting a Happy Meal bag with [[Rayman]] blinking an eye in the artwork, he/she would get a power card with tips and tricks of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]''. It is currently unknown how the power card looked like.

It also has a black suction cup on the bottom, to hold it in place.

This PVC figure with aproximately 9cm of height has got Rayman standing side to a bush, with the yellow logo of "RAYMAN" written behind it - at least two figures are known to be owned by members of the fanbase. It is known to have been bundled with some copies of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]'' in France and Germany. It could be bought in the boutique section of the official website of French Ubisoft. The M6 Multimedia pack of the PC version of the game is one of the most known packs that bringed this rare figure, hard to find nowadays.

On the front of the flask, there's a ''[[Rayman 3]]'' logo and a [[plum]]. There isn't anything on the back of the flask.

At least one flask is known to be owned by a member of the fanbase.

This resine figure with aproximately 15cm of height is a recreation of an artwork depicting the [[Grimace]] power in ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'' - at least three statues are known to be owned by members of the fanbase. It is said that few hundreds of units were created worldwide for the ''[[Rayman 3]]'''s Press Kit, which contained some straw, a costumized box, a press dossier, two press discs and an artwork book. It is one of the rarest [[Rayman (series)|Rayman]] items that are known to exist. The statue was briefly found for selling in Pix 'N' Love's online store but it quickly sold out as soon as it was discovered. This little statue also makes a cameo in the "Fact number 2 of Bunnies very useful scientific facts: Bunnies don't do vacuum cleaning".

This figure is approximately 9 cm tall and was created by M6 Interactions. It was released in 2004 as part of an unknown promotion in Quick restaurants, alongside other video game character figures. Much like the resin ''[[Rayman 3]]'' statue, it depicts [[Rayman]] [[Grimace|grimacing]] on top of a [[mushroom]], which stands on a green base with "RAYMAN" sculpted on the front, with the bottom of the figure reading "Métropole collections/M6 Interactions, Designed by Neamedia". The material it is made out of is unknown, although it is fairly heavy and solid, much like clay or polystone. It is a considerably rare piece of [[Rayman (series)|''Rayman'']] merchandise, with appearances on eBay being extremely infrequent and only three members of the fanbase known to own one.

==Plush of [[Rayman]] in a [[Walking Shell]]==

This plush is known to have been sold in the United Kingdom, France and in Spain during the ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'''s release. It was available in a small and medium size and they are rare items to find nowadays - at least five plushes are known to be owned by members of the fanbase. Both versions of the plush have different facial expressions: the small version represents a neutral expression of [[Rayman]] while the medium version represents an angry expression of [[Rayman]].

Oddly enough, the cloth tag at the rear end of the plush bears the ''Rayman 3'' logo, yet the only feature that is based on the style in said game is the red hood - the rest of the plush's features are based on the ''Rayman 2'' design.

They are believed to have been distributed by [http://www.pbpes.es/company.html Play By Play], a plush toy company based in Spain, according to the cloth tag.

This real-life sized statue of 1,80m of height is one of the most rare items of the entire merchandise. It could be found commonly in gaming shops during the release of ''[[Rayman 3]]'', as this statue had purposes of promoting the game's release. [[Ubisoft]] did a contest in the [[RaymanZone Magazine]] in which one of the prizes was the statue of [[Rayman]] holding himself in [[Leptys]]' [[the Sceptre of the Leptys|scepter]].

The materials were one pencil case, three pencils, one rubber, a notebook and a portfolio.

It is a resin figurine that depicts Rayman riding on the back of a large [[Rabbid]], while wearing the Goth costume from said game. It is the last figuring based on Rayman himself to have been manufactured, before a large amount of [[Rabbids merchandise]] became available.

The Pinny Arcade Rayman pin was released as part of a promotion by Penny Arcade, alongside other pins from a variety of different games. This particular pin was given out at the PAX Prime event in 2013 to attendees who pre-ordered ''[[Rayman Legends]]'' at the [[Ubisoft]] booth. This pin is just under 4 cm tall and less than half a millimetre thick, coloured with silver outlining. It resembles [[Rayman]]'s head, drawn in the style of ''[[Rayman Origins]]'' and ''[[Rayman Legends]]''.

Mr Dark first appears in the intro sequence of ''[[Rayman 1|Rayman]]'', where [[the Magician]] introduces the game's story. [[The Glade of Dreams]] is kept in balance by a mystical orb known as [[the Great Protoon]]. One fateful day, the evil Mr Dark appears, stealing the Great Protoon and defeating [[Betilla the Fairy]] as she tries to protect it. The [[Electoon]]s, small pink creatures which gravitate around the Great Protoon, are scattered across the world, and imprisoned in [[cage]]s by Mr Dark's minions. Rayman sets off to free the Electoons, defeat Mr Dark and recover the Great Protoon.

For the majority of the game, Mr Dark does not appear; he simply stands on a high hilltop, observing Rayman's progress through his binoculars. When Rayman defeats [[Space Mama]], the game's fourth major boss, Mr Dark decides to take action, and kidnaps [[Betilla the Fairy]], who had been granting Rayman powers throughout the game. Mr Dark is next glimpsed when Rayman defeats the next boss, [[Mr Skops]]: now it appears that Mr Dark has imprisoned Betilla in a tiny glass sphere through his sorcery. Betilla is seen calling out for help, and asking Rayman to hurry. In order to access the final level, [[Mr Dark's Dare]] in the [[Candy Château]], Rayman must smash all [[cage]]s and free every [[Electoon]] in the game.

Before fighting [[Rayman]], Mr Dark casts strange spells on him as he progresses through [[Candy Château]]. He makes his first physical in-game appearance at the beginning of the second stage, where he waits for Rayman, then casts a spell before flying away. This spell creates [[Bad Rayman]], an evil duplicate who copies Rayman's every move and causes instant death if he touches him. In the next stage, Mr Dark casts a spell which reverses the player's left–right controls, followed by another spell which makes Rayman run uncontrollably. At the end of the level, Mr Dark magicially steals Rayman's [[telescopic fist]] power, leaving him helpless and unable to punch. Following this, Rayman reaches the central chamber of Mr Dark's château. First Mr Dark taunts Rayman by dangling his telescopic fist from a rope and retracting it whenever Rayman makes a move to take it. He then tries to destroy Rayman by trapping him between two moving walls of deadly flame while throwing fire balls at him. When his situation seems desperate, a pair of [[Electoon]]s rescue Rayman by giving him back his [[telescopic fist]]. The final battle then begins: Rayman must battle Mr Dark, who transforms into hybrids of the previous five bosses. These hybrids each have Mr Dark's face as their resistance icon.

The first transformation is a mixture of [[Mr Stone]] and [[Mr Skops]]. His is compoised of [[Mr Stone]]'s body, feet and right hand, together with [[Mr Skops]]' head and claw. His only attack consists of hurling his claw at [[Rayman]], which he can jump over and punch him in the face. If [[Rayman]] attempts to punch him too early, the monster will block his face with his claw. It is possible, with a certain timing and dexterity, to hit him up to three times per turn. After he has suffered eight blows to the face, the monster vanishes.

The second transformation is a pair of identical monsters. Each one appears to be made of [[Bzzit]]'s body and [[Space Mama]]'s head and feet (as seen in her first appearance in [[Eraser Plains]]), along with her hands and rolling pin, which fires lasers (as seen in her second appearance in [[Space Mama's Crater]]. Their only attack is shooting lasers, which Rayman can jump over or duck under. If both of them shoot at the same height, the lasers collide each other, morph into one laser, and fall straight down towards the ground, which can be difficult for [[Rayman]] to avoid if he is ducking. When Rayman gets the chance, he can punch either one of the two. It is also possible to trick them into shooting one another. Both monsters share a single resistance bar; it is possible to defeat them both by punching only one. When they have been damaged eight times, the monsters vanish.

The third and final transformation is a mixture of [[Mr Sax]], [[Space Mama]], and [[Bzzit]]. He is composed of Space Mama's body, Mr Sax's feet and hands and Bzzit's head. This monster's only attack is jumping about with the use of Mr Sax's feet. At the start of this fight, [[Rayman]] is shrunk to the same size he would have been had he touched a [[Flying Blue Elf]]. As the monster tries to stomp him, Rayman must use his running ability to avoid getting squashed. Whenever the monster hits the ground, Rayman is bounced up into the air by the impact, giving him a chance punch the monster in Bzzit's face, which is his only weak spot.

Once the third transformation has suffered eight punches, he vanishes, and [[Rayman]] is returned to his normal size. It would seem that Mr Dark was defeated by the final punch to the head of the third form, and fled the [[Candy Château|château]] once beaten.

The Atari Jaguar version makes it more explicit that these hybrids are transformations of Mr Dark. In this version, the Bzzit/Space Mama hybrids are absent, so the fight consists of only two rounds: the first against the [[Mr Stone]]/[[Mr Skops]] mixture, and the second against the [[Bzzit]]/[[Mr Sax]]/[[Space Mama]] mixture. The two monsters share a single health bar with Mr Dark's face as its icon: when half of the first monster's health is depleted, he clicks his claw several times, creating a shower of sparks, then walks off the screen, visibly sweating. The final monster then appears, with half of his health already gone. (Rayman is not shrunk in this version, and does not need to be bounced into the air in order to punch his head). Once all of his health has been depleted, it looks straight at the camera, sweats, and flies straight into the air. [[Electoon]] icons fly across the screen as Rayman celebrates his victory.

In the Atari Jaguar version, Mr Dark makes one final appearance at the end of the game's credits. He flies across the screen, and the message ‘See you soon’ is displayed, hinting at Mr Dark's impending return. However, ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]'' and ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'' make only passing references to him, and while his influence plays a significant role in ''[[Rayman Origins]]'', he does not actually make an appearance.

In the [[Rayman (Game Boy Color)|Game Boy Color release of ''Rayman'']], Mr Dark has imprisoned the [[Electoon|Toons]] and uses their power for himself, throwing the world into darkness and chaos. Unlike the original, he does not transform himself when he engages in a final boss battle with Rayman. In between each level he can also be seen watching Rayman though a crystal ball.

In [[Arcane Forest]], he casts two spells on Rayman, the first one summoning [[Bad Rayman]], and the second one reversing Rayman's controls.

The final battle starts out with Mr Dark shielding himself from Rayman's [[telescopic fist|fist]] with three bubble-like balls. Then, he slowly rises up, and when he is off screen, he rains fire upon him from above. After ten to fifteen fire balls are dropped, he descends back down to the stage, while still having the shield around himself, and turns into a ball. While in ball form, he randomly floats around the stage trying to ram Rayman. His objective is to hit him while he is in ball form three times. But as he hits him, he gets smaller and smaller, and becomes harder to hit. After hitting him three times, a heart appears at the top of the stage so he can replenish his health. Mr Dark turns back to normal, and then he floats off screen again.

This time, Mr Dark throws ten meteors at Rayman, two at a time. Then, he does the same routine as before: he comes back down, and turns into a ball. But this time, he will stay in ball form for a shorter period than before, and if Rayman can't manage to hit him three times within the time limit, he will turn back to normal and float back up into the sky to throw meteors at him again. If Rayman does hit him three times, a heart will appear once again, and he will rise back up into the sky to unleash his final attack.

This time, he shoots sixteen bolts of lightning. They are shot at the step he was just above on the stage, and can be easily avoided by using the [[Helicopter]] to hover over a lower step for a short time. After the sixteen bolts of lightning are shot, he turns back into his ball form. The time he spends in his ball form is even shorter, so Rayman must punch him three more times very quickly. Mr Dark then reverts to his normal form, burns up, turns into a strange ghostly cloud and vanishes.

Afterwards, Rayman returns to his hammock and falls asleep, but is disturbed by a menacing figure which appears to be Mr Dark. However, it turns out to be four [[Electoon|Toon]]s wearing Mr Dark's cloak and hat as a joke, and Rayman laughs.

While Mr Dark makes no physical appearance in the game, his influence plays a major role in the story, and numerous references are made to him by the game and its surrounding media. The second trailer of ''Rayman Origins'' shows a brief glimpse of a [[Teensie]] with a top hat and a dark cloak, standing on a stone platform, surrounded by [[Darktoon]]s and [[Psychlops]]. It was speculated that this was Mr Dark. Several months later, clearer artwork of the character was released, and the official website indicated that this character was indeed Mr Dark, stating "The archenemy from Rayman 1 returns". However, the same section of the site also claims that [[Soldier]]s and [[piranha]]s are in the game, which is not correct; the game's final manual contains an updated version of the same information, and makes no mention of Soldiers, piranhas, or Mr Dark. In response to his cover being blown, the Magician rips the golden star off his top hat, showing more clearly his resemblance with the artwork supposedly of Mr Dark. This scene led to much confusion among players, some of whom mistakenly interpreted it to mean that Mr Dark and the Magician were the same character.

An early version of the game's script, found within the files of the game's demo, contains scrapped dialogue which indicates that the Magician was a fan and admirer of Mr Dark, and desired to be as mysterious and evil as him; one of his lines is "I always wanted to be like Mr. Dark: mysterious, dark!...um, dark and mysterious..". The script also reveals that the Magician's real name is Ales Mansay, and that he became embittered and corrupted when he was bullied at magic school for his poor magical abilities. He eventually disguised himself as his hero, Mr Dark, and hid a microphone in [[the Snoring Tree]] to start a war between [[Rayman]] and the [[Livid Dead]] while he himself set to work building an army of mechas (powered by the Lums given to him by the clueless heroes) that he could use to take over [[the Glade of Dreams]] and free it from the rule of [[Polokus]], whom he considered to be an ineffectual and useless leader, unable to protect his people from his own nightmares. It is unknown why this material was removed from the game; however, in the final version of the game, there are still several posters in the Magician's headquarters, some with pictures of Mr Dark's silhouette, and one with "♥ Mister D" written on it, demonstrating that the original storyline still holds true. As seen on these posters, Mr Dark looks somewhat different; his hat is shaped more like an inverted triangle, and his arms are long and thin. It seems as though Rayman Land was a fairground containing attractions based primarily on the ''[[Rayman 1|Rayman]]'' and ''[[Rayman 2]]'' games with a merry-go-round mounted by a [[Globox]] figure and a [[Warship]] that appears to be another ridable attraction.

The level appears to be split into an area for each game; a ''[[Rayman 1|Rayman]]'' area accesible by an enterance made to look like the ring on [[Rayman]]'s torso and a ''[[Rayman 2]]'' area accessible either by passing a small cliff decorated with ''[[Rayman 2]]'' art or possibly accessed by riding the aforementioned [[Warship]] attraction.

The only parts in the level seen to be based on ''[[Rayman 3]]'' visible in the concept art are a statue of [[Rayman]] pulling a [[grimace]] while sitting atop a mushroom situated on a small island in the centre of the level, and an area with what appear to be dodgems or go-karts made to look like [[Rayman]]'s [[Crazy Shoe]] karts.

In May 2006, Ubisoft unveiled ''[[Rayman Raving Rabbids (cancelled prototype)|Rayman Raving Rabbids]]'', a new 3D platformer being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier under the direction of series creator [[Michel Ancel]]. There has been much confusion regarding the relationship of these games, since ''Rayman 4'' was also the working title of ''Rayman Raving Rabbids''. This confusion was furthered by the [[Rayman Raving Rabbids (Game Boy Advance)|Game Boy Advance version of ''Rayman Raving Rabbids'']], which incorporated aspects of both cancelled games. Since the cancellation of Phoenix's ''Rayman 4'' was followed quickly by the development of Ubisoft Montpellier's ''Rayman 4'', there may have been some connection between the two, but this remains unconfirmed.

==Plot==
The plot of ''Rayman 4'' is mostly unknown, though some story elements have been leaked to the public. The game is said to have been based around the idea of [[Rayman]] partaking in a training camp for video game heros where he could interact with other Ubisoft characters including ''The Prince of Persia'''s titular character and Jade of ''Beyond Good & Evil''. [[Dark Rayman]] was set to make an appearance, not in person but rather to be portrayed as a glitch in the program; a corrupt part of the game bent on taking revenge on the characters, akin to the villain of the film Wreck it Ralph. It appears that the game was to be a reboot/retelling of the original ''[[Rayman 1|Rayman]]'' game, and would have involved [[Rayman]] revisiting numerous locations from [[Rayman 1|the original game]] recreated in 3D and to a high level of accuracy. This contrasts with ''[[Rayman Origins]]'', where the heroes explore locations based on the same themes as those of the original game, but with distinct differences; for example, the [[Desert of Dijiridoos]] is evidently based on Band Land, but is clearly not the same place.

One piece of ''Rayman 4'' artwork shows [[Rayman]] standing in a vast, cathedral-like area, decorated with stained-glass windows and statues which depict '[[Bad Rayman|Dark Rayman]]'. It could be speculated that this was to be the location for an encounter or battle with [[Dark Rayman]].

==Gameplay==
Little is know about the gameplay of ''Rayman 4'', but the concept artwork makes it clear that it was intended to be a 3D platformer and other other information seems to point toward gameplay being similar to that of ''[[Rayman 3]]''.

It seems that one of the game's key features was [[Rayman]]'s transformation into various guises, each one granting a unique power. Concept art shows Rayman in various forms: regular Rayman, mime Rayman, chewing-gum Rayman, bubble Rayman, invisible Rayman, hedgehog Rayman, [[Super Helicopter]] Rayman, ghost Rayman, torch Rayman, Bigfoot Rayman, and boxing Rayman. These forms contrast with the costumes seen in ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'', as it seems that Rayman would have gained powers by undergoing physical transformations rather than donning new gear. It is unknown which of these power ideas would have survived to the final stage of the game's development.

===Yann Le Pon–Emeline Bellemin–Jean-Marie Godeau concept art===
In 2012, several pieces of ''Rayman 4'' artwork were posted on the portfolio of concept artist Emeline Bellemin. These images, which were drawn by artist Yann Le Pon and coloured by Bellemin, showed further illustrations of the three-dimensional [[Picture City]], as well as images of the [[Organic Cave]] and several new environments. Other images have been posted on the site of Jean-Marie Godeau, the game's artistic director.

==L'Histoire de Rayman==
In the book ''[[L'Histoire de Rayman]]'' , it was revealed that the [[Robo-Pirate]] and ''[[Livingstones]]'' where planned to return in Rayman 4. There is also concept art of a young human girl named Cielle who was intended to appear in the game. It is unknown what her role was to be in the game or if she was intended to be playable.
