It is one of three special locations throughout the Front where Rayman can find Ly the Fairy and access the minigames she offers in return for freeing Familiar Spirits. (The other two are Ly's House in the Minisaurus Plain and Ly's Stele in the proximities of Globox's House.) When Rayman enters the cave, Ly appears, and Rayman can peruse her selection of minigames. When Rayman] makes his selection, Ly conjures a Spiral Door leading to the minigame of his choice; when Rayman completes a minigame successfully, he is rewarded with a permanent extension of his health bar. A new minigame becomes available each time he frees ten Familiar Spirits from their respective cages.

The French restaurants of McDonald's did a Happy Meal promotion of six Rayman 2 figures between the 17th May 2000 and the 13th June 2000 - at least one complete collection is known to be owned by a member of the fanbase. Its exclusive limited distribution in the Metropolitan France territory makes this collection very hard to find nowadays; despite of some of the figures being found in the French eBay. It was discovered in 11 April 2014 that existed a silver coloured and golden coloured variants of the "Rayman sitting on a plum" figure. Whoever was getting the silver figure, he/she would be awarded with a PC copy of Rayman 2: The Great Escape and whoever was getting the golden figure, he/she would be awarded with a top-range computer along with the PC copy of Rayman 2: The Great Escape". This contest was described in the Happy Meal bags, that contained and a Rayman 2 artwork of Rayman riding a Walking Shell. If a person was getting a Happy Meal bag with Rayman blinking an eye in the artwork, he/she would get a power card with tips and tricks of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. It is currently unknown how the power card looked like.

The collection has got the following figures:

*Rayman sitted in a plum: This figure measures (approximately) 10 cm of height, 5 cm of length and 7 cm of width. When the wheels of the plum drag in the floor, Rayman's hair spins like a helicopter.
This figure is approximately 9 cm tall and was created by M6 Interactions. It was released in 2004 as part of an unknown promotion in Quick restaurants, alongside other video game character figures. Much like the resin Rayman 3 statue, it depicts Rayman grimacing on top of a mushroom, which stands on a green base with "RAYMAN" sculpted on the front, with the bottom of the figure reading "Métropole collections/M6 Interactions, Designed by Neamedia". It was available in a small and medium size and they are rare items to find nowadays - at least five plushes are known to be owned by members of the fanbase. Oddly enough, the cloth tag at the rear end of the plush bears the Rayman 3 logo, yet the only feature that is based on the style in said game is the red hood - the rest of the plush's features are based on the Rayman 2 design.

The medallion is made out of metal. Above, “Rayman 20th Anniversary” is written on the edges. Below, “1995 - 2015” is written, still on the edges. On the right and left edges, there are stars. The medallion contains Rayman, who's wearing sunglasses, and a palm tree. On the back of the medallion, there is the Ubisoft logo. On the edges, stars have been replaced by circles, above “Rayman 20th Anniversary” is again written and below it is written “Ubisoft Studios in France”.

Along with Ludivs and greenbottles, they are found in the cages instead of Yellow Lums. Yellow and brown in colour, and resembling some sort of chicken or dinosaur, they are identical to baby Minisaurus, a species found only in the Minisaurus Plain in Rayman Revolution. It is very likely that Denys and Minisaurus are the same species.

They spend a lot of their time hopping up and down on the spot making soft squeaking calls that sound like real-life geese, giving them a hyperactive personality. This gives them restless minds, indulging them into having long philosophical discussions, with themselves or with the greenbottles.

In this game, Minisaurus are slow-moving creatures who live in herds. They wear red and green chequered overalls and have two spindly wings on their backs. They have frills on their heads like a cockerel and brown spots on their yellow bodies as well as oversized beaks and arms. They only appear in the Minisaurus Plain in Rayman Revolution. According to a baby Globox, he owns them, but the pirates' interference in the world, such as the destruction of the Heart of the World, has driven them mad, and now they eat the Popolopoïs. Rayman can daze them, but they can bite him back. Minisaurus are larger versions of Denys, creatures found in cages in the PlayStation version of Rayman 2. Like Denys, the baby Minisaurus emit a high-pitched squeaking and bounce around when they are separated from their parents. The noise can be heard from the Pier. Baby Minisaurus are quite calm, not attacking Rayman when he comes into sight, unlike the adults, who relentlessly chase down intruders. There are only two babies and four adults in the whole game.

It is possible to lure a Minisaurus off of a cliff. First, Rayman needs to alert their attention, then run towards the cliff near the Pier and jump off. The Minisaurus will likely jump off the cliff along with Rayman. They will continue hugging the cliff wall and wade into the piranha-infested water. They will not appear back on the cliff when the player gets back up. However, if Rayman dies or exits the level, the Minisaurus will reappear.
*Of the three species rescued from cages in the PlayStation version of Rayman 2, the Denys are the only species to not appear in the original version of the game. A Ludiv appeared in the bonus level of the original version of the game whilst the greenbottles were represented by Murfy. However, while at the time, the Denys were unique to the PlayStation version of the game, their model has since been used for the Minisaurus in Rayman Revolution.

Red Henchmen 800, also known as Red Rum, are a variety of Henchman 800 found in all versions of Rayman 2. They are the highest rank of Henchman 800 in all versions but the PlayStation version, in which they are the lowest rank.

Two red Henchmen are used as the bodyguards in front of Admiral Razorbeard's cabin, even in the PlayStation version, and two of them also carry Globox to his prison cell in the opening movie. The red version of Henchman 800 is a playable character in all versions of Rayman M.
In the original and Dreamcast versions of Rayman 2, the red colour represents the highest rank of Henchman 800, above purple. They exist in two types, a weak version taking six shots to defeat, and a strong version taking nine shots. The weak type, technically identical to the strong version of purple Henchman 800, fires regular energy projectiles, except for one in the Iron Mountains and another in the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava – the latter being exclusive to the Dreamcast version, which fire large energy projectiles. The strong type fires large energy projectiles, except for one in the Iron Mountains which fires helicopter bombs in the Dreamcast version. Two exceptional types can also be found in the game: the red Henchman 800 standing in a rowing boat in the Marshes of Awakening, which takes five shots to defeat and fires regular energy projectiles, and the one throwing kegs from the external part of a stronghold in the Tomb of the Ancients, which takes only one shot to defeat.
Those missiles follow a curved trajectory and can be destroyed by Rayman's shots, constituting on the other hand an additional protection for the pirate, and making it notably harder to use charged shots. Only two red Henchman 800 appear. Both act as the bosses: one is fought in the Precipice, the other in the Tomb of the Ancients (the final level in this version). Their resistance is much higher than that of any Henchman 800 in the original version. The two fights are carried out in an identical fashion. Apart from their high resistance, these pirates bear some minor differences from standard ones: their energy projectiles are green, and they can transform their legs (rather than one of their arms) into drills, giving them a resemblance to a jackhammer. No other Robo-Pirates are encountered in Rayman 2 Forever; although dialogue and intertitles indicate that Rayman's goal is to defeat Admiral Razorbeard, the defeat of the red Henchman in Tomb of the Ancients is treated as a decisive victory by the characters.
Red Henchman 800 make an appearance in this game, but are the weakest iteration of Henchman 800, less powerful than the blue, grey and green models.

They shoot yellow projectiles to attack Rayman, akin to many other models of Henchman 800. Unlike some of the other varieties of Henchman 800, this variety will actively patrol the platform they are situated on, and will even advance toward Rayman in combat, should he back away. They have low defensive capabilities, being able to be destroyed with two punches, they will either fall forwards or backwards when defeated and explode, depending on where the final strike is made.

Red Henchman 800 also appear in some of the cutscenes within the game, with an identical appearance to their Rayman 2 counterparts. However, in-game, their visible eye is coloured red, instead of green.

Bimbette is a baby Globox and, as such, is one of Globox and Uglette's 650 children. She is one of the eight playable babies that appear in the minigame Globox Disc in the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2: The Great Escape and in Rayman Revolution. In the former, she can be seen in the Globox Village from which the minigame is accessed from.
Her name is most likely derived from the word 'bimbo' and the suffix '-ette'.

Description
Bimbette is a flirtatious baby Globox and her skin is a darker pink colour than that of her many sisters. She has a prominent pink bow on her head (although, like most other Globoxes, she has no hair). While most of her family all have white ovals on their bellies, (with the exception of Hardrox) Bimbette has a white heart-shape. Unlike her sisters, Bimbette (a self-proclaimed 'coquette') is strangely suggestive when speaking with Rayman; in the Globox Village, she says, ‘It's so hot here! I wish I could take off my ... but I don't dare.’ Presumably she is talking about her bow.

Role in the games
In Rayman Revolution, Rayman encounters Bimbette when he destroys the cage hanging from the ceiling of the top room in the Pirate Factory. She was going to be used as a guinea pig for the Spyglass Pirate to test a new weapon on, and, when freed, quickly warns Rayman to prepare himself for battle. When Boss Biditank arrives, Bimbette rushes over to the laser and tells Rayman to press the generators to turn it on. Throughout the battle, she resides on the laser. After the Spyglass Pirate is defeated, Bimbette leaves the Pirate Factory for good.

In the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2, Bimbette can be found running around in the Globox Village with her siblings.

In both the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 versions, Bimbette is a playable character in Globox Disc.
Mawpaws are a strange type of creature encountered several times throughout Rayman 3. They loosely resemble a plesiosaur, except that they have hand-shaped heads, and they are capable of flight.

One of them is seen for the first time emerging from a lake in the very first segment of the Fairy Council where Murfy has to carry Rayman to escape from the Hoodlums. In the Bog of Murk some Mawpaws are seen flying aimlessly through the air at the beginning of the level. Later, in the dungeon beneath Count Razoff's mansion, another Mawpaw can be found. It seems to have been imprisoned there by Razoff. This Mawpaw helpfully picks up Rayman and places him back in the battle if Rayman falls down into the pits of the dungeon (much to the ire of the imprisoned Globox, who would rather that his friend stay there with him).

In addition to frequenting the skies above the marshes, Mawpaws are also known to live in the ocean; if Rayman falls overboard the ship in the first phase of the Summit Beyond the Clouds, a Mawpaw picks him out of the water and puts him back on board.
The Griskins are a ghostly tribe of Teensies who haunt the Land of the Livid Dead, a location visited in Rayman 3. The Griskins have also been referred to as Mad Spirits, or the Livid Dead.
Character description
Being ghosts, the Griskins can fly around, but they have no arms to attach their hands to them, and have neither feet nor legs. At least some Griskins have the ability to generate and manipulate lightning, using it to their advantage against enemies.

In Rayman 3
The Griskins appear throughout the first parts of the Land of the Livid Dead. They once resided there when they were alive, but the Great Spirit Palmito was angered by their singing, and decided to destroy the tribe and imprison their ghosts in a large, magical tower. A select few however were later trapped in Hoodlum cages. When Rayman freed the Griskin trapped on top of the tower and one of his brothers in the third phase, they created a portal that led to a group of other Griskins trapped together. They used their lighting powers to defeat the Hoodlums to allow Rayman and Globox to advance.

Uglette is a toad-like character who appears in Rayman 2 and its remakes, although she does not appear in the Game Boy Color adaptation. She is the wife of Rayman's best friend, Globox; together, they have over 650 children.

Description
Uglette is a member of the same species as Globox; she looks very similar to him, except that she is pink whereas Globox is blue. In the PlayStation and Nintendo 3DS version of Rayman 2, Uglette also wears a pink bow, giving her a more distinctive appearance. The Knowledge of the World reveals that, along with her husband, Uglette was dreamed up by Polokus, who used his sense of humour in doing so.

Like her husband Globox, Uglette has a friendly and cheerful personality, although she does not seem to share his cowardly nature. A maternal creature, she is very protective of her children, and becomes distraught when Globox or the children are kidnapped by the Robo-Pirates – a regular occurrence.

In Rayman 2
In all versions, except in Rayman Revolution where she can be encountered earlier on, and Rayman 2 Forever where she is completely absent, Uglette debuts in the Iron Mountains, with one earlier mention by her husband during the Canopy. When Rayman is exploring the Iron Mountains after freeing her children from the reformatory, he comes across Uglette, crying as her babies have been imprisoned down the mines. Rayman tells her not to cry and takes a nearby warship through a flooded valley. He finds the four mines and takes the baby Globoxes to safety in the ship. Uglette is overjoyed to see her children safe and thanks Rayman. One of the Globoxes then reveals that he found the fourth mask down the mines. Uglette wishes Rayman luck as he teleports back to the Hall of Doors. She is later seen at Rayman's funeral with Globox and some of their children. She celebrates with the others when it is revealed that he survived.
</gallery>

In the PlayStation version of Rayman 2
In the PlayStation version, Uglette receives her first mention in the Canopy as before, but is mentioned further by the Teensies after opening the fourth mask door, when they tell Rayman that her babies are held on the Gloomy Island, the alternative name for the Iron Mountains in this version. When he reaches Gloomy Island, Rayman encounters Uglette straight away, and promises to find her babies in a similar scene to the original, with dialogue changed only to reflect the different setting. Rayman frees the babies at the Reformatory (the mines are omitted) and they return to Uglette in a scene with a different setting but essentially identical to that in the original.

In Rayman Revolution
In Rayman Revolution, Uglette is portrayed as living in Globox's House, near a cliff on the Front. She can be optionally encountered here as soon as Rayman can access it after the Sanctuary of Water and Ice and will either thank Rayman for his efforts or despair over her husband's imprisonment depending on the stage of the game the player is at. She is still mentioned in the Canopy, and still appears at the Pirate Mines, now a separate level from the Iron Mountains. Instead of the fourth mask, a baby Globox will give Rayman the Rain Mask at this point, giving Rayman the ability to perform the Rain Dance, and Uglette will give him a brief description of its use, before leaving with her children.

In the Japanese version, she doesn't have any scales and her mouth is completely pink.

In Rayman Origins
{{quote|text=Ah! Uglette! How are your 650 kids? And that handful of a hubby...! I don't know how you do it...! At one point, Uglette was intended to be a playable character in Rayman Origins, but she was not included in the final version of the game. Her only mention is in the above unused dialogue.
