Carmen the Whale is a character from Rayman 2: The Great Escape. In every version, Carmen's first appearance was on the Main Menu, making her the first significant character to appear in the game, even before Rayman. Carmen's home is in the ocean, though she occasionally makes trips to the Whale Bay. Carmen has been witnessed having a taste for the nettles common in the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava. Carmen's purpose in life is to survey the depths of the ocean, depositing air bubbles to help any stray plants and animals, and in this case also Rayman. Piranhas are very fond of her air bubbles, since they suffer from heartburn. Early in the game's production, she was known simply as The Whale.

In Rayman 2: The Great Escape
In Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Carmen is captured by the Robo-Pirates and imprisoned in the Whale Bay. Her captors planned to kill her for her blubber, so they could use it to grease the engines of the Buccaneer. Once Carmen has been rescued by Rayman, she makes it possible for him to swim through the huge underwater caverns by releasing air bubbles for him to collect and breathe. As long as he collects them frequently enought, he can stay underwater for an indefinite period of time. In the Sony PlayStation version of Rayman 2, Carmen led Rayman to the Sanctuary of Water and Ice, which has been reduced to a small area at the end of the Whale Bay; in all other versions, she simply leads him to the end of the level.

In Rayman Revolution
In Rayman Revolution, Carmen makes an additional appearance following the Whale Bay in the ocean outside the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. The rescue of Globox and Carmen is required to access the Sanctuary, as Carmen must eat the thorny nettle blocking the entrance.

Following her oceanic appearance, Carmen occasionally appears when Rayman returns to the area outside of the Sanctuary.

Rayman rides Carmen in one of the loading animations in the game; this is the only act depicted in a loading animation that cannot actually be performed in the game, indicating that the developers may have originally intended for Rayman to be able to ride Carmen at some point during the game.

A Purple Lum is one of the many types of Lums that are found in the Glade of Dreams. These lums assure the cohesion of the world; without them, nothing would be solid or visible. Unlike the other Lums, this kind is shaped like a ring; rather than being collectible, they can be grabbed and used as hook by Rayman, so that he may cross large areas without touching the ground. Like Super Yellow Lums, Purple Lums have eyes.

In the games
Rayman 2: The Great Escape is the first game in which Purple Lums are names. In this game, Rayman gains the ability to swing from Purple Lums by absorbing a Silver Lum which was granted to him by Ly, after he freed her from her prison in the Fairy Glade.

In the original Rayman game, objects known as flying rings appeared. These rings are essentially this game's version of Purple Lums; the function in the exact same way, and appear very similar (but Purple Lums' wings are insectile, while flying rings' wings are more bird-like). This game also features evil flying rings; these are ugly, red versions which sink when grabbed, often putting Rayman in danger. Rayman must receive a Silver Lum from Betilla the Fairy in order to use flying rings.

Purple Lums also appear in Rayman M, Rayman Arena and in Rayman Rush, where all of the characters can use them. They lack eyes in all the game versions, except in Rayman Rush.

In Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, items known as flying hooks appear. These Hoodlum-made contraptions work in the same way as Purple Lums, but Rayman needs the Lockjaw Laser-Washing Powder to use them.

In the Game Boy Advance adaptation of Rayman 3, Purple Lums look very different from their previous appearances. They are larger, and while they lack eyes and wings, they now wear metal crowns.

In the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids, Purple Lums reappear, and look very similar to how they appeared in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3. They now have a greyish colour.

In the Game Boy Color versions of Rayman 1 and Rayman 2, the Purple Lums move around freely in one location, ready for Rayman to grab onto them. There is one grabbing ring that looks red and black. It goes up and down. When Rayman grabs onto, it goes and stays up. When he lets go, it goes down. It can hurt Rayman and is located in Fiery Depths and Dark Legacy.

In the Nintendo DS version of Rayman Raving Rabbids, a lot later in the game you can find purple lums.
Rayman M: Multiplayer (known as Rayman Arena outside of Europe) is a multiplayer spin-off game based on the universe of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. In Europe, it was released only on the Sony PlayStation 2 and PC on the 30th November 2001, while in North America it was released on the Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo GameCube in addition to the PlayStation 2 and PC. It is a 3D game which combines racing, battling, and a few traditional platform elements. Unlike the other Rayman games, this game does not have a notable plot, other than that the characters are in a sporting competition.

Gameplay
The gameplay in Rayman M is split into two main modes, Racing and Battle.

Racing Mode
In this mode, the players take part in a foot race and face a number of obstacles depending on which environment they are playing in. There are no power-ups in this mode, although throughout each course there are Purple Lums, speed ramps and small trampolines that are useful. This mode has four different types of racing game. Obstacles include boxes that the player has to shoot up to eight times in order to pass, bear traps and electric bars.

* Training: This mode allows the player to explore the course and practice before playing in the other modes, as well as setting their own personal records. Only a single player can play in this mode.
* Race: This mode involves up to four characters to race each other, the first one to the finish line wins. In single player mode, the other players are computer controlled and there are three laps to run, while in multi-player mode the players can set how many laps to run before winning.
* Popolopoï: This mode uses a time limit in which a character must complete three laps in. Although the time starts at 20 seconds, the time can be increased by shooting small butterflies called Popolopoï, which come in different colours that represent how much time is given. Only a single player can play in this mode.
*Lums: In this mode, the player has to complete three laps while collecting the maximum number of Yellow Lums required in order to legally win, and must come in first place aswell.
This is also needed later on in the game, as the ammount of lums the player collectd will be transfered into the ammount of time the player gets to finish that particular race in On and On, a bonus race level.
Only a single player can play in this mode.

Battle Mode
Rather than an obstacle course, the Battle mode is made up of an arena in which characters run around playing three different modes. Unlike the Race mode, this mode uses power-ups.

* Lum Spring: In the mode, the player has to collect as many Lums (which unusually look like crystals this time) as they can in order to reach the winning conditions - in a typical game, this is up to five Lums - or before the time runs out. To help him or her prevent the opponents from reaching them first, they are equipped with ice bullets to freeze them, thought the others' shots have to be avoided.

* Lum Fight: Each player starts with five hit points each, and the player has to knock all of the opponents' hit points in order to score Lums. Each time a player dies, they respawn somewhere else in the arena. A negative Lum is given to a player that loses to a self-infliction. Various power-ups called Generators are scattered around, and contain a different weapon to use against opponents. Uses the same winning conditions as Lum Spring.

* Capture the Fly: This game is similar to tag - the player has to find a Light Fly and keep hold of it as long as possible without getting hit by an opponent's shot. The character is equipped with five bounce bullets which are only effective on the player in possession of the Fly. The player that reaches the winning conditions first wins.

Environment
The game is set in the same environmental universe as Rayman 2: The Great Escape, and consist of four different worlds for each mode, each with three stages. The world the players play in also determines the difficulty of the game, going from Beginner to Advanced. As the player progresses, the harder difficulties are unlocked. Many of the worlds in Rayman M that resemble locations from Rayman 2 include Ly's Palace, which resembles the Sanctuary of Water and Ice, and the Dark Sewers, which are reminiscent of the Tomb of the Ancients.

Characters
At the start of the game, five characters are available, and as the player progresses through the game, they'll unlock the remaining characters as well as skins for them. Each character has their own musical theme in the Racing mode, and have their own method of gliding, though they all shoot the same way Rayman does.

*Rayman: The star of the game. He has one unlockable skin only in Rayman Arena.
*Globox: Rayman's best friend, who joined the competition to overcome his shyness (unlike other games he apeared in, he is not scared of the bad guys). He has three unlockable skins.
*Teensies: A pair of Grand Minimus Teensies. They have three unlockable skins.
*Admiral Razorbeard: The irritable lord of the Robo-Pirate Army.
*Henchman 800: One of the Robo-Pirates from Rayman 2, particularly of the Red variety. He has three unlockable skins.
*Tily: A small Fairy speculated to have replaced Ly the Fairy. Tily must be unlocked.
*Razorwife: Admiral Razorbeard's flamboyant wife. Razorwife must be unlocked.
*Henchman 1000: An older Robo-Pirate model. Henchman 1000 must be unlocked. He has three unlockable skins.
*Dark Globox: An eviler, dumber, uglier, and certainly ruder version of Globox. Dark Globox only appears in "Rayman Arena" and must be unlocked.
*Dark Rayman: Mr Dark's evil doppleganger from Rayman. Dark Rayman only appears in the Gamecube and Xbox version of Rayman Arena and must be unlocked. He is also the player's opponent through the entire third league in the game, the Master League. He is also the main antagonist of Rayman Arena.
The Objects
Objects are located in racing courses that will give the player special benefits, sometimes intended to slow the player down in a race, or to speed the player up. Some objects refer to Rayman 2.

* Speed ramps: A blue panel on the ground or platform that will give the player a speed boost for a few seconds by walking over it. Pressing the "special button" when this speed boost is active will grant the player even more extra speed, leaving little clouds of dust behind them.
* Bumpers: A circle 'trampoline' on the ground which propels the player into the air, most often resulting in a shortcut.
* Thorn roots: These look similar to the creatures/plants in Beneath the Sanctuary of Lava in Rayman 2. When the player gets close it will 'whip', her/him resulting in the player to slow down.
* Purple Lums: A well known Lum from Rayman 2 which gives the player access to a faster route.
* Switches: The switches unlike that of Rayman 2, are square-shaped and have icons on the front or either a Robo-Pirate head, a Piranha or a Spider. If the player shoots at a switch, it will activate a hidden passage or will drastically alter the surrounding environment to stop your opponent(s), but can also affect yourself.
* Electric fences: When the player touches the electrical beams from this fence it will electrocute her/him resulting in the player to slow down.
* Electric barrels: Avoid this object, it will hit you when it lights, resulting in the player to slow down.

The Weapons
These are the weapons present in the fighting stages of the game. In Lum Fight mode, they are taken from Generators that are randomly scattered around the arena. In Lum Spring and Capture the Fly modes, there is only one weapon that is present, and is given to you at the beginning of the match. This is the Ice Bullet for Lum Spring and the Rubber Bullet for Capture the Fly.

* Fake Generator: It looks like a normal generator that gives the player a weapon, but it in fact a bomb been placed down by another player or CPU. It explodes on contact (or just after a character passes) and it inflicts 3 hit points.
* Item Leech: When activated, it steals a random other players' weapon. if no other player is carrying something, it will steal one from a generator.
* Buzz Rocket: When activated, the player will stand to a still (making yourself vunerable to attacks)and you will instead be in control of a small, highly sensitive flying weapon, the Buzz rocket. It inflicts 5 hit points, on impact on another player. You can only use it once.
* Ultimate Barrier: An indestructible force field that cocoons the player for a few seconds. It also effectively inflicts 1 hit point of damage if it comes in contact with another player.
* Glue Bomb: When mastered, this weapon is irresistible to use! It sticks to a player by contact, spinning around the unlucky character then explodes after a few seconds. Inflicts 3 hit points of damage.
* Rapid Bullets: Shoots a row of 3 bullets per round. Each bullet inflicts 1 hit point.
* Rubber Bullet: Can almost always make a direct hit. Can bounce of walls and objects (up to 3 bounces). Each bullet inflicts 1 hit point. In Capture the Fly mode, you get 5 bullets. It just steals the fly from the carrier and ammo refills over time.
* Hound Bullet: Automatically chases the nearest opponent. Each Hound Bullet inflicts 1 hit point.
* Firework Bullet: Is pointless unless a player is nearby, or you lock onto another player. A green Firework Bullet detonates on impact. Inflicts 1 hit point on anyone within explosion range.
* Flametounge Bullet: A flame which its direction can be controlled for a few seconds, then remaining active for a few more, englufing anyone who unfortuantely goes into it. Inflicts 1 hit point.
* Ice Bullet: Only available in Lum Spring mode. It freezes the targeted character for 1 second. The ammo refills over time.

The Xowar, also known as the Xovar, is a species of gigantic gorilla-like creature from Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. In all its appearances it has a distinctive tusk protruding from the right side of its lower jaw. It was planned to be the boss of the Clearleaf Forest level, and Rayman would have escaped the battle during a race/chase (viewed from the front), while doing his best to avoid certain obstacles (similar idea of the fight with Foutch in Rayman 2), but its size made it too difficult for the programmers to work with, so it was replaced by Master Kaag.

The Xowar can still be seen at two places in the final version of the game:

*In a secret room found just before the final Reflux fight in the Tower of the Leptys. In this secret room, generally known to players as the 'Xowar Secret', there are three room-sized (and unbreakable) cages, each containing a different scrapped character. One cage holds a tiny jumping blue bird, one holds an in-game model of a Flabar similar to the one in the intro video (except the one in the cage is blue), in the third cage is a Xowar running on a treadmill.

*In the arena of the Master Kaag battle in the Clearleaf Forest, there is a 'Wanted' poster depicting the Xowar. It has been speculated that the Hoodlums want him for his fur for their costumes or as an allie against Rayman.

In the PC version of Rayman 3s BETA Demo loading screen, a Xowar is partially shown, lining up with various Hoodlums for a police mugshot.

A Zombie Chicken is an enemy found in the gloomier parts of the world in Rayman 2. They can also be seen in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3 and as well as very briefly in the console versions. More ghostly versions can also be seen floating around in the First Ruins track in Rayman M. They are the result of hens laying dead eggs out of terror from the events caused by the Robo-Pirates.

They appeared in Rayman 2 in the swamp levels, appearing from the ground or swamp water and floating towards you to hurt you. They appear again with the same roles in the portable versions of Rayman 2 and Rayman 3.

In Rayman 3, it is revealed that the Knaaren are fond of Zombie Chicken eggs; many vending machines containing them are found in the Desert of the Knaaren. It is necessary for Rayman to pick up these eggs and place them on certain platforms to open doors; however, ghostly Zombie Chickens appear and harrass Rayman if he attempts to move their eggs. They have their own frantic, frightening-sounding theme in this game.

It is unknown whether the Zombie Chickens have any connection to the Denys or the Minisauruses, other chicken-like creatures found in the Glade of Dreams.

Appearance
They have slightly deformed chicken beaks with cartoony eyes and gray-brown feathers on their heads. They wear long, ripped, brown cloaks and their arms look like human skeleton ones that are bent in a haunting way.

There are two different kinds of Zombie Chickens in the PC version of Rayman 2: a kind with eyes, and a kind with hollow eye sockets. Both kinds can be found in the Tomb of the Ancients

Globox is a major character in the Rayman series, who makes his début in Rayman 2: The Great Escape, followed with major roles in Rayman M, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc and many handheld games. He is Rayman's best friend and has been since before the game even began, though how they exactly came to meet is currently unknown.

Character description
Appearance
Globox resembles a large, fat amphibian, and is blue-green in colour with a pale yellow belly and hands. While the rest of his body is fat and heavy, he has long thin arms, webbed feet and small eyes, which isn't shown to be attached to his body untill Rayman 3. He is noticeably taller than most of the people of the Glade, with the exception of Ly the Fairy and Clark the Giant, and he has a extremely large mouth, which he often is seen to store things such as Silver Lums, as can his children proved by Rayman being given the Rain Mask in Rayman Revolution. He has a long purple tongue, as seen in Rayman Origins.

Abilities
Physically, Globox is quite strong, and provided that he has the confidence to (under the influence of plum juice in Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge), he can inflict a strong blow on enemies, namely Hoodlums. Unfortunately, he is allergic to plum juice, and when André was inside his stomach, he would force Globox to drink some and then suffer from its effects, which includes getting drunk and burping out giant, bouncy bubbles. At an early point in Rayman 3, he realises that he can swim, but he doesn't realise that he has enough energy to swim upwards on an entire waterfall, although it was when he was under the influence of Plum Juice, which has also given him an ability to fly, or float, into the air, allowing him to avoid such terrains in Rayman 3 that would prove difficult. This was most likely to have been inspired by this hoovering technique in Rayman M. All versions of Rayman M suggest that he can run as fast as the others, despite his weight, but elsewhere he tends to walk slowly in a nervous state.

Globox has the power to form rainclouds, albeit small ones that draw enough rain to grow a plant quickly, put out fires and to rust a Robo-Pirate as self defence. Most other species would have to use a Rain Mask, which one of his children gives to Rayman at a later point in Rayman Revolution.

Personality
Globox is generally a warm and friendly character and a proud father of more than 650 children, though simple and very shy. Having been captured at least once in Rayman 2, he has grown an irrational fear of the Robo-Pirates, and often when he senses that they are near, he will run away and hide (notable in the Canopy), until he is sure that Rayman had destroyed them all. Similarly, he displays this fear in Rayman 3, this time of the Hoodlums and their attacks, unless he's under the influence of plum juice.

In Rayman 2, Globox spoke in broken English in a deep voice, but by the time Rayman 3 set in, his voice had become much higher, and spoke in much better English.

Biography
Globox and his family were created by Polokus as part of the non-magical People, as a result of the spirit's sense of humour. He was originally called "Globber", a name that he has now passed down to one of his children in order to rename himself. Together with his mate, Uglette, he is the proud father of 650 small children at the last count. In Rayman Revolution, it was revealed that he and his family live in a tree house near the Canopy, though in the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2, they live in a secret location hidden in the Woods of Light, called the Globox Village.

Videogame appearances
Rayman 2: The Great Escape
Globox's story begins even before the game starts, where he is by Rayman's side among an ambush in the Great Forest. There, he doesn't put up much of a fight, but he helps by rusting up a few Pirates with his Rain Dance. Rayman praises his efforts, but gets distracted by Ly's telepathy, and gets captured, leaving Globox with no choice but to be sent by his limbless friend to find Ly in person and ask for further instructions. Ly gives him a Silver Lum, and then gets captured himself.

On the Buccaneer, Globox is thrown into the same cell as Rayman, and give him the Silver Lum, which allows him to shoot with his fist. Rayman tries it on a metal grate covering an air vent, and together, he and Globox goes down the chute. However, Globox knocks Rayman off the edge, and they become separated. From this point until he meets Sssssam in the Marshes of Awakening, who tells him that Globox has been taken beyond the Marshes, the limbless hero doesn't know where his amphibious friend had got to.

Later on, Globox is discovered and is held prisoner in the Canopy, and once Rayman frees him, he joins him throughout the level, putting his Rain Dance into good use again by growing plants, putting out fires and short-circuiting electric bars. However, upon the sight of a warship, Globox runs back the way they came into a cave. Rayman goes back to reassure his friend that there's nothing to be scared of, and then, Globox remembers to give him a Silver Lum which upgrades the power of his Magic Fist. At the end of the level, Globox insists that he'll find his own way home, so he lets his limbless friend leave to carry on with his journey.

Unfortunately, Globox gets captured again at the near end of the game, this time used as live bait to lure Rayman to the Crow's Nest. When he gets here, Razorbeard shoots him, but misses and hits the pole that hangs Globox upside down, but he insists that Rayman should carry on fighting the Grolgoth rather than saving him. It is unknown how he got down after the Crow's Nest fell apart, but whatever happens, he ends up back on the ground safely by the time he and his friends mourn their hero after the Buccaneer explodes, until Rayman turns up alive.

Rayman 2: Revolution
Though Globox's primary roles in Revolution were similar to those in Rayman 2, a few new elements were added. In Revolution, Globox does not grant Rayman the ability to shoot his Magic Fist, but instead simply allows Rayman to punch. Globox's house, children, and relation with Uglette are depicted in a larger scale; one of his daughters is an important character later in the game, Uglette is constantly seen worrying about Globox, and his cliffside house's acres of land are the setting for one half of the second part of the game. Globox joins Rayman on a few occasions in a fashion similar to Clark or Globox's role in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. Globox must be taken past Whale Bay to use his Rain Dance so as to enable entry to the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire.

Rayman M/Rayman Rush
In Rayman M and Rayman Rush, Globox is one of the initially available characters.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
Globox remains physically similar to his original appearance, though had become a comedic sidekick for this next appearance. Globox plays a major plot role, having swallowed André accidentally and having to find a doctor who would find a solution to remove André from Globox during the first half of the game. During this time, Globox is forced to drink plum juice, despite allergies, and during a somewhat drunken state he gains special abilities for short periods of time that are needed to progress Rayman through the game or move Globox forward through the level (by floating). Through the second half he plays a lesser role, though tends to follow Rayman on their journey, ocasionally bringing up the odd surprise. He is notably voice acted by actor John Leguizamo.

Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
In Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge, Globox follows Rayman through much of the game, similar to Rayman 3. Globox is also a playable character in some levels. Often times there will be a puzzle-like sequence of events that requires the player to use both Rayman and Globox to move forward in the level. As Andre has been consumed once more, Globox can use the effects of plum juice to do certain things to move on in the stage, such as breaking metal bars.

Rayman Origins
Globox is set to appear in the upcoming Rayman Origins. He will be a playable character in the game's co-op mode. The game will show Rayman's first meeting with Globox, prior to the events of Rayman 1. It is said that Globox is Rayman's double, his blood brother, his id’. The game will show how the ‘uncontrollable individual’ Rayman and the ‘grotesque creature’ Globox became the heroes we know today.

Trivia
*Globox is said to belong to a species called ‘glutes’, but this has not been officially confirmed. It is possible that the term refers to a different species of creatures in the Glade of Dreams.
*Although not seen in the game, he has a default score of 12000 in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.
*Globox was going to make an appearance in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, as a character Rayman was going to rescue from the Rabbids, but this idea was scrapped.
He is of the same species as Rayman, and lives with his wife and child high in the Blue Mountains, where he spends his time playing on his guitar. He is a hippie, with curly brown hair held in a bandana and a brown beard, while his wife has long grey hair and wears green clothes.

In Mr Stone's Peaks, the Musician's guitar had been crushed under a rock. Rayman has to punch the rock a few times to carve a new guitar out of it. As a reward, the Musician gives him a bottle of blue and pink liquid which gives Rayman the Super Helicopter power. This allows him to actually fly with his Helicopter in certain levels.

Tarayzan is a character from the original Rayman game. As his name suggests, Tarayzan is a pastiche of Tarzan, though he is clearly a member of Rayman's species. Apart from his black hair, earring and animal-skin toga, Tarayzan looks almost identical to Rayman.

Rayman first meets Tarayzan in a rainy area; this is the first part of the Swamps of Forgetfulness, the third level in the Dream Forest. Tarayzan has snagged his toga on a branch, and is now hiding behind a bush, embarassed at his nakedness. He can be seen murmuring and pointing awkwardly at his clothing. When Rayman jumps up and punches the toga, it falls and flutters down to Tarayzan, who puts it back on and is now able to leave the shelter of the bush. As an expression of his gratitude for Rayman, Tarayzan gives Rayman a magic seed, which can be used repeatedly to grow huge flowers. Tarayzan then yodels and leaps back up amongst the trees. When Rayman first plants the magic seed, a flood starts, and Rayman must use the seed repeatedly to escape it.

Tarayzan is seen again in the game's epilogue screen, where he is celebrating Rayman's victory along with all of the other friendly characters. He later goes on holiday with the other characters, and is seen on a beach with Rayman and Joe in one of the photographs displayed during the end credits.
"Sorry folks, this apparently can't last..." — The Magician, Rayman.

The Magician is a major limbless character that makes his first appearance in the original Rayman, and later appearing in several educational versions of the game such as Rayman Junior.

Character description
Appearance
Being part of the same limbless species as Rayman, the Magician bears the signature traits - having no limbs, and a large nose. He has long blonde hair that nearly reaches the ground and wears a long black top hat that shines in blue and purple and has a gold star on the front, covering his eyes. He has also been seen wearing shirts of two colours - in the introduction sequence of Rayman, he wears a purple shirt with two blue buttons, but in the game itself, this is blue with golden buttons. The colour of his shoes - purple and orchid - remain the same, but with different stripe patterns. He is also noticeably shorter than Rayman is in Rayman, but in the educational games, he is about as tall as Betilla the Fairy is.

Video game appearances
Rayman
The Magician first appears in the introduction of Rayman, in which he tells the story of how Mister Dark had stolen the Great Protoon and how the world's stability had collapsed as a result. He also calls on Rayman to go and free the Electoons from the cages that hostile beings had imprisoned them in, as well as bring the Great Protoon back from the Candy Chateau.

After that, his hat can be found several time in Rayman's travels, though the Magician will only come out of it if Rayman has at least ten Tings; if not, he will clearly indicate with his hand that the hero will need them. If Rayman does have at least ten Tings, then he will pay them to the Magician who will then take him to a bonus area. In these, Rayman has to collect all the Tings within the time limit, and if he does, he will win an extra life. Once this life is taken though, it will not be won again, so any other attempts at the bonus maps will just record the time taken to collect them all.

Rayman Junior
In several of the educational versions of the original game, such as Rayman Junior, the Magician's roles are looked into considerably more. He introduces the story of the game once again, only this time, he tells of how Mister Dark had broken into his cottage, stole the Great Book of Knowledge and destroyed the map to the villain's hideout. Once again, he and Betilla the Fairy call on Rayman to retrieve the pieces of the map and the book.

Instead of providing bonus areas, the Magician now helps Rayman to solve the many problems (spelling and mathematical problems for the young player) throughout the journey. When Rayman starts a level, the Magician will give him an overview of the specific tasks he needs to do in order to complete it. After that, his hat will appear several times, and each time Rayman passes one, the Magician will either ask a new question or remind him of the level's task. At the very end of the last stage in the level, he will appear somewhere once the final task is done, and when Rayman finds him, he mostly does a different performance, such as doing a dance or rapping 90's style, while praising Rayman for what he has done.

Teensies are a race of ancient, diminutive and wise creatures native to the Glade of Dreams. These creatures are frequently encountered in Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 2: Revolution, and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc.

Description
Teensies have pale blue-grey skin and are characterized by their faces, which generally appear quite large due to their long, drooping noses, which overlap their hidden mouths. Their noses are marked with elegant spiral patterns which are slightly darker that the rest of their skin, though these markings are only vaguely noticeable until Rayman M. Teensies have little, black, beady eyes and small, mitten-like hands that lack any fingers other than thumbs. They are short compared to most of the Glade's inhabitants; to compensate for this, the Teensies in Rayman M stand, one on top of the other's shoulder.

The Teensies were created by Polokus to oversee the many passages of the world. After the Fairies, they were the second race to be created, and as such are among the most ancient inhabitants of the world. Long before the events of the Rayman games, the Teensies created the Hall of Doors, a magic place where all paths eventually meet. Most, if not all Teensies have the ability to create Magic Spiral Doors; these portals can quickly take a Teensie (or other character, such as Rayman) from one location to one another. The Teensies can harness the power of Yellow Lums collected by Rayman to create Magic Spiral Doors or open sealed doors that lead Rayman to the Sanctuaries.

The many Teensies are collectively ruled by the four Grand Minimus Teensies, who reside deep within the Fairy Council, near the Heart of the World.

The Teensie race is a diverse one, and the personality and dialect of a Teensie widely depends on where it comes from. In general, many Teensies are talkative and fun-loving creatures who have a taste for disco. Many Teensies are very old, absent-minded and forgetful; when the Grand Minimus was locked in a cage with three other Teensies, they eventually forgot which one of them was King, and were forced to rule together to overcome this problem. The older Teensies spend their spare time performing acrobatic dance moves, in order to make the younger, less-experienced Teensies envious.

Female Teensies have yet to make an appearance in any game so far, and so it is unknown how similar they are to their male counterparts. Female Teensies are only subtly alluded to in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, in which some Teensies will grumble about needing to attend to their children or aunts (which have never appeared in any game). Though there exists the possibility that Teensies are hermaphroditic, it is generally regarded that the existence of Teensie females is more likely.

Role in the Game
Rayman 2/Revolution/Rayman DS
Rayman 3
In Rayman 3, most Teensies have taken the role previously held by Electoons in Rayman and Denys, Ludivs, Greenbottles, etc. in the many versions of Rayman 2. Though a few Teensies such as the Grand Minimus and the Teensie Doctors have a role in the game's plot and are found elsewhere, most Teensies are found by destroying a cage. If Rayman destroys enough cages in a world, his HP Bar will increase its maximum capacity.

Rayman Origins
Teensies are probably going to appear in this upcoming rayman title. One probable teensie is seen in the trailer, were he takes a picture of Rayman and Globox. Although this can be a other specie because he has longer arms and bigger eyes.
*Teensies were originally going to appear in Rayman Raving Rabbids, in which they appeared in some of the early screenshots and in the early trailer. However, after the game was remodeled into a party game, the Teensies were cut from the game.

Globox is going to appear in this upcoming Rayman title, though he acts more stupid then ever. He also is a playable character in Rayman orgins co-op mode. His appearance is slightly changed from the last game, for example his eyes can seperate from his body again and his tongue is more outside his mouth. It is also said that Rayman is his double, his blood brother. This game also features the meeting between Rayman and Globox.

Trivia
*Globox is said to belong to a species called glutes, however it has not been officially confirmed.
*Although not seen in the game, he has a default score of 12000 in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.
*Globox was going to make an appearance in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, as a character Rayman was going to rescue from the Rabbids, but this idea was scrapped.

Rayman is the main protagonist in the Ubisoft video game series of the same name. He is the creation of French game designer Michel Ancel (who had first designed Rayman in the early 90s), and with his trademark lack of limbs and helicopter hair, he has become a popular and recognisable video game character over the past decade, making his debut in 1995 on the Atari Jaguar and appearing in several titles for many different platforms up to the present day.

Character description
Appearance
Rayman was originally designed to be just an athletic character and to have a full body, but because it could not be fully rendered even on games consoles in the mid-90s, he was left without arms, legs and a neck - his hands, feet and head float around his body. He has a huge round nose, and has strawberry-blonde hair which he divides into two (three in Rayman) fronds that are held up to what some people say, resemble ears. He often uses his hair as a helicopter, and sometimes to fly whenever he is able to, but most commonly just to glide and to make soft landings. His eyes are dark blue in colour, though in most official artwork they are coloured black, and two pictures in Rayman showed him with lighter blue eyes. While Rayman is unique in most of the games, other members of his unknown species are seen in Rayman, notably the Magician and Tarayzan.

Rayman is almost always seen in white gloves and a purple torso with a mysterious white ring on the chest, which he gains new powers from Betilla the fairy, and also which absorbs energy and Silver Lums from the Fairies and connects to the altars of the Four Masks of Polokus in Rayman 2. Up until Rayman 3, he wears a red neckerchief, which was then replaced with a red hood. He also wears shoes that are typically yellow and white, though the actual designs have changed throughout the series. Rayman Raving Rabbids is where he is seen wearing different clothing that has raised a few questions about his 'limblessness' as he sometimes looks as if he has knees, such as the Disco costume with its trousers/pants.

Physical
Rayman is a very laid-back character, as he is often seen snoozing either on a hammock or up against a tree, but he is also very athletic and shows great gymnastic skills (able to scale wall sides, and in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3 he is able to do a "body shot", kick enemies and can do monkey bars), especially since being given the power to run in Rayman, and then get noticably better from Rayman 2. He is also strong enough to carry things such as baby Globoxes, Magic Spheres, plums and kegs. He can run while carrying the kegs in [Rayman Revolution]] if he purchases an optional upgrade at the Magic Well. Rayman is also right-handed.

He started out as a very poor swimmer, as in the original Rayman he would lose a life the instant he'd fall into any body of liquid, but he soon develops this skill fast by the time Rayman 2 is set in, although all he could do was a simple dog-paddle. In Rayman Revolution he is taught this by Murfy and a baby Globox at the beginning of the game. In Rayman 3 he is a keen swimmer, capable of using his helicopter hair to propel himself through the water, and he no longer seems to need any Blue Lums or air bubbles to breathe.

Personality
Rayman's true personality isn't very well looked into throughout the series, though most of the time he is a cheerful character with a good sense of humour. He is also very helpful, and is willing to take on whatever challenges face him for the sake of the safety and harmony of his world. Sometimes he can be a little childish, especially in Rayman 1, as he often pulls grimaces as a form of defence. Lately though he has become somewhat self-absorbed, especially in Rayman Raving Rabbids, as the Rabbids start to treat him like a celebrity during his captivity, though he remembers and worries about the baby Globoxes that he left behind. That however seems to be put behind him as the Rabbids continue to harass him in Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party.
But it was revealed through interviews with Michel Ancel that Rayman was meant to be a bit of a show-off who doesn't take himself seriously, though this side of him was overlooked during 'Rayman 2 because of Ubisoft's focus on the environments of the game. It was in Rayman 3 that Ubisoft tried to show Rayman's true colors, giving him a new look to match his personality and add to his charisma.

Rayman's Origin
The following short story is taken directly from the manual of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. It tells of Rayman's first appearance in the Glade of Dreams, sometime before the events of the original Rayman game. He is discovered by fishermen, who for some reason do not seem to have encountered his species before.

Rayman is a unique character of unknown origin.

No wise man or magician can say by what twist of fate or whim of the gods Rayman came to appear at the Glade of Dreams.

All we know of him comes from the fishermen on the Sea of Lums. After a particularly stormy night they found him sleeping peacefully in the shade of a palm tree. Frightened by this strange creature from the sea, they called on the people of the forest, the skies and the waters for help. And the sun had not yet reached the zenith when a host of beings, each one more bizarre than the next, came tumbling over the violet sand dunes. They watched him for a long time. “What kind of a man can he be who has neither legs nor arms?”, they asked one another. “Can he possibly be alive?” wondered one of them when Rayman stretched and yawned loudly.

It didn't take Rayman long to convince the people of the Glade of Dreams of his good intentions. His energy and good humour, his fantastical powers and love of life and nature won over even the most distrustful of creatures. And when he triumphed over the evil Mister Dark, the truth was undeniable: Rayman was the bravest of them all, the ideal hero, the man for whom friendship and laughter are more important than anything else, for whom the greatest victory is measured by the extent of the celebrations that follow it.

Rayman's ultimate origin was finally revealed at the E3 expo of 2010, when Ubisoft showed a trailer for the upcoming prequel Rayman Origins:

‘Conjured from the magnificent moonbeams of the second summer solstice, woven together by [the] nymphs, destined to preserve the equilibrium of the sacred universe: the one we call... Rayman!’

The ‘nymph’ who creates Rayman in the trailer may be a younger version of Betilla the Fairy.

No Problem!
Rayman is first seen in-game having fun with the Electoons in his peaceful world, until Mr Dark comes along to kidnap the Great Protoon. He was then seen asleep in a hammock, where he lazily speaks the words "No problem", in response to his calls from the Magician to save the world from the terror caused by this mysterious villain. At that time, he apparently lived by the sea in what looks like a shipwrecked boat, though what seems to be his home is never fully seen. He then travels through six different lands in search of Mr Dark's Dare, where he challenges and defeats Mr Dark and his hybrids.

Rayman the Teacher
Main Article: Rayman Junior

From 1996, Rayman appeared in several educational computer games designed especially for children, notably a game based on the original Rayman in which the player has to solve several reading and mathematics questions throughout modified versions of the original levels. This game had several names, and was later released for the PlayStation in 2000 as Rayman Junior.

Other educational Rayman games included the following:
* Amazing Learning Games with Rayman

The Glade of Dreams
The Glade of Dreams is the world in which the Rayman games are set. The original Rayman game was set in a valley inhabited by limbless creatures like Rayman, and seemed to be in a coastal or island area. The sequel, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, is accompanied by an official map showing that all the game's levels are part of an island called the Glade of Dreams. The remake, Rayman Revolution, contradicts this and offers an alternate version of the island's layout. In Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, Rayman travels around the world via Teensie Highways, so little new information is revealed regarding the geography of the world in this game.

Pirates!
Now it was time for Rayman to show his heroism. Admiral Razorbeard and his Robo-Pirate army soon attacked and in the Great Forest, Rayman and Globox fought off a bunch of them. Suddenly, Rayman's powers disappeared and Ly telepathically communicated with him to tell him that the Heart of the World had been smashed into 1000 Yellow Lums, causing Rayman and Ly's powers to disappear. Then Rayman was captured and he told a frightened Globox to go to Ly for help. Rayman was put in a jail cell and Globox himself soon arrived, giving him a Silver Lum from Ly. The Silver Lum gave him back the power to shoot his magic fist and he used it to escape. Globox accidentally knocked Rayman off the ship and they both fall to the ground.

On his journey to find Ly, Rayman meets Murfy, the Grand Minimus Teensies, the Baby Globoxes, and more. He soon finds Ly, who gives him the grapple power back and tells him he needs to find the four masks of Polokus to reawaken Polokus himself. On his journey to collect them, Rayman carried out many tasks such as finding the Elixir of Life to cure Clark, rescuing many friends from captivity and even defeating the guardians of the masks. Eventually, he collected all four and was taken to the Prison Ship to defeat Razorbeard. After beating him, Razorbeard destroyed the Prison Ship and Rayman was believed to have died in the explosion, with the only thing left of him being his left foot. At his funeral, Rayman arrived almost safe and sound and was reunited with his foot, and after a long and difficult journey, he was told to rest.

Rigatoni, the villainous boss of an intergalatic circus, captures Rayman and takes him to his circus. Rayman, however, does not take this and jokes around with Razorbeard, who is now portrayed as Rigatoni's servant. Rayman finds out how badly the other circus freaks are being treated and helps them escape. Angered, Rigatoni phones Inspector Grub and tells him to find Rayman and his new friends and bring them back. Meanwhile, outside the vast city of Aeropolis, Rayman and the gang see an old man struggling to fix a car. The man promises he'll let them have the car if they can fix it and Cookie (one of the other fugitives) successfully manages to do so. After evading Inspector Grub, they seek refuge in what seems to be the detective's house.

Rayman and his friends and foes returned for a competition to see who actually was the best. This surprising biathlon contained two parts: Racing and Battle. The events of this game do not seem to be connected to those of the main series.

When Razorbeard strikes back at the Glade of Dreams, it is up to Rayman to save his friends yet again. These events seem to take place between those of Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. Rayman and Globox talk about how Globox was saving the Teensies, when he accidentally swallowed a Black Lum. Suddenly, Globox vanishes and Rayman goes looking for him. Facing similar events to Rayman 2, Rayman soon battles Razorbeard's machine, the Grolgoth, once more and defeats Razorbeard.

Later, Globox tells his children that he saved the world, with a little help from Rayman.

Rayman and his best friend Globox are napping in the Crossroads of Dreams. Rayman's hands suddenly come to life and walk off. They see a Red Lum and scare it by making shadow puppets. The Red Lum is scared so much that it turns into 'a cantankerous little ball of fluff', a Dark Lum. André, who goes and creates his Hoodlum army by transforming other red lums into dark lums, attempting to destroy the Heart of the World and conquer 'Rayman's world'.

Eager in his intents, he storms through the doors of the Fairy Council, unaware that Rayman and Globox had already arrived there, frantically searching for him. Globox, standing in front of the hallway, screams and swallows André, where André soon decides to reside. From there, Rayman and Globox visit three different doctors, to remove him from the insides of Globox and hopefully destroy him. The third of the 3 doctors decides to meet with the first two, where they could cooperatively attempt to extract André, and succeed, however André makes his flee. André then visits the fallen Knaaren warrior Reflux, where he encourages him to follow through with his new plot. Reflux, ashamed of his defeat, takes well to the offer and, once more, pursues his goals of power and might, stealing King Gumsi's staff.

After Rayman and Globox follow the recently-formed duo throughout several different locations, they finally arrive at the Tower of the Leptys, where Reflux was waiting, now with the power of Leptys, to once again face his enemy. Following his final defeat (where he then crystallizes and shatters), André is converted to a Red Lum again thanks to the power Rayman had been rewarded for deafeating Reflux at an earlier stage, triggering all other Black Lums back to their original blissful state.

Revenge of André
Even though André had been expelled from Globox's body, his spirit still remained within him. The spirit of André summoned back the Hoodlums to get their revenge on the world for being defeated. One of their plans was to create a clone of Reflux to kill Rayman.

Rayman and Globox were napping in the Clearleaf Forest, when Globox heard a strange sound and went to follow it, only to be captured by the Hoodlums. Rayman awoke later that afternoon to find Globox missing, and went searching for him with the help of Murfy, fighting the Hoodlums along the way and destroying Reflux's plum juice factory. Rayman later reunited with Globox as he fought the wily witch Begoniax.

As the duo went further, Rayman started noticing Globox's strange split personality, the other side of him being very cruel and rude. When he defeated the Fire Monster, André's spirit announced his full possession over Globox, all to Rayman's shock and surprise.

Eventually, Rayman defeated the Reflux Clone, expelling André's evil spirit from an unconscious Globox. Globox then awoke, back to his normal self, and the two walked off together in the forest, Rayman stating they made a great team.

The Bunny Invasion
One day, Rayman decided to take a few baby Globoxes out for a picnic, which was disrupted by the sudden invasion of a species new to him - the Rabbids. He and the babies were captured and taken to a Colosseum, where he became the Rabbids' source of entertainment. He would have to pass their many challenges for 15 days before he escaped using the plungers he had earned after each day of success. He soon realised that he had left the babies behind, and tried to return for them through a hole a rabbid had made, but he got stuck for some time.

Soon after this event, Rayman learns that the Rabbids are planning to take over Earth, and attempts to infiltrate them by dressing up as one and imitating their behaviour, while following them all over the world and collecting as much information as possible to use as a warning to the Earth's inhabitants.

In Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, he was still being harassed by the Rabbids, as he had to see refuge in what may be his second home (being that the home he seemed to be in in Rayman was visually very different) after being chased by a small group of them. However, they mysteriously travel into the television set inside the house, after a strike of lightening crashes into them. The Rabbids harass him and even creatures living outside the home for an entire week, by mediling around with the TV. Rayman attempts several ways of keeping the Rabbids stuck inside the TV from annoying him, including throwing the TV outside, but to no avail. It is until then the TV cracks from all the harassment.

Currently, Rayman's whereabouts are unknown, as the Rabbids had become obsessed with going "home" to the Moon in Rabbids Go Home. It is unknown whether the events of the Rayman Raving Rabbids spin-off series have any bearing upon the events of the Rayman series.

His Come Back
Rayman is going to appear in his own brand new title, called Rayman Origins. Ubisoft brought him back to his roots and he shines once again in a 2D platform game. This is a important game for the history of our here because this game shows the beginning of Rayman and the meeting with his double, his blood brother Globox. Although Rayman acts a bit more stupid then he did before, maybe because he is new in his world. His specie is finally revealed, it is called a Thingamajig according the Rayman Origins trailer.

Trivia
* When Rayman 2 was released in Japan and China, Rayman's purple clothes and the stripes on Ly's suit had to be changed to blue, because in those countries purple is the "colour of the dead".
* One of Rayman's hobbies is painting, which was revealed at a later point in Rayman 1 and in Rayman Junior.
* Rayman also seems to like basketball. In Rayman 2, he would sometimes take his body off and play with it like a basketball whenever he is left idle. Also, in the GBA version of Rayman 3 if the player decided to continue at the "Game Over" screen, Rayman would throw his body through a basketball net and catch it.
* In Rayman 3 he seems to also show interest in football, as when he is left idle, he kicks his body around and can also kick turtles and plums.
* Some of Rayman's gymnastic skills include handstands, somersaults and back flips.
* Rayman makes a cameo appearance in both the credits of Tonic Trouble and the Ski Slope level.
* Rayman also makes a cameo in the Ubisoft title Academy of Champions, in which he is part of the Ubisoft team which features characters from other Ubisoft franchises such as Beyond Good and Evil, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed. <small>1</small> In this team, Rayman is the goalkeeper. A hat based on Rayman's head is also available from the game's Item shop.

Globox is going to appear in this upcoming Rayman title, though he acts more stupid then ever. He also is a playable character in Rayman orgins co-op mode. His appearance is slightly changed from the last game, for example his eyes can seperate from his body again.

:: Oh, but still, does it work on PS2 version because I only have Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc on PS2 now, like my page says. Also, what is the score? If you don't know, that's alright. - Evil Rayman

::: I know for sure that it works on every version, but I don't think anyone knows the exact requirements.
Polokus is a character that appears in Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Rayman Revolution. He is the spirit of the Glade of Dreams, and legend says that he created the world with his dreams.

Appearance
Polokus is a short, fat, and ancient creature resembling an amphibian, with extremely long arms and golden toenails. He wears a pair of blue-green trousers with a golden buckle and a tall mauve and gold magician's hat, identical to Jano's.

Biography
Polokus himself was created by the Yellow, Red, Purple and Blue Lums. His power was such that his smallest dream or desire became reality. He is a god, but his connection with other gods such as the Leptys is largely unknown.

Polokus created the Glade of Dreams, then decided to use his powers to bring people to his world. First, he created the fairies, who are his emissaries. The fairies were the creators of a fifth type of Lum, the Silver Lums; these are what give Rayman his powers. Next, Polokus created the Teensies, whose purpose is to unveil all the secret passages of the world. The Teensies constructed the Hall of Doors, a magic place where all paths eventually come together. Next, he created simpler creatures, beginning with Clark the Giant, whose strength Polokus used to help carve the landscape. Next, Polokus created Globox and his family, drawing upon his sense of humour for inspiration. Polokus then created a multitude of fantastic creatures, such as Murfy and Eig.

Having created all the creatures of the world, one task remained: creating time. In order to do this, Polokus went into a deep sleep to have a meeting with all the other gods of all the other worlds so that they could dream up the future together, a task which Polokus was unable to perform himself. Before doing this, Polokus created four masks that, when reunited, would awaken Polokus in case there was trouble. To avoid anyone waking him needlessly, he hid them in four Sanctuaries and placed Guardians there to protect them, each one with a weakness. This was done in such a way that only one being could get these masks: Rayman. Before going to sleep, Polokus explained this situation to the fairies, that they might aid Rayman when the time came to awaken him.

It is when Razorbeard and his Robo-Pirate army attack in Rayman 2: The Great Escape that Rayman must collect the four masks. After every time Rayman collects a mask, he meets Polokus in his dreams. Polokus takes the mask and urges Rayman to find the rest. After Rayman finds them all, Polokus explains that Rayman will have to fight Razorbeard on the Buccaneer, because on the earth, Polokus is unbeatable but when in the air, he is as vulnerable as a newborn. Then he gives Rayman maximum energy and teleports him to the Prison Ship. Polokus then eliminates all the Robo-Pirates infesting the planet.

At the end of the game, Polokus joins the rest at Rayman's funeral, very sad. Then Rayman arrives, alive and everyone including Polokus celebrates.
"Figures. They're raiding the Fairy Council! Enough is enough. I was told that after Rayman 2 I'd be cast as a tormented artist who falls for a girl with great big... uh, eyes. And here I am, playing sidekick again in a low-budget flick. Yeesh!" - Murfy, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc.

Murfy (sometimes spelled as Murphy) is a character who made his debut in Rayman 2: The Great Escape, and later appears in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. He serves as a flying encyclopedia, and it is his job to provide as much information about the world to Rayman as he can, as well as teaching him how to train and perform his moves. In the PlayStation version of Rayman 2 he does not do this, as it seems that a number of his kind are prisoners found in cages.

Character Description
Murfy is a small flying creature with a green head, and despite his frog-like appearance, he is actually a greenbottle, a sort of fly, as revealed in the instruction booklet of Rayman 3. He always sports a huge cheesy grin showing large teeth, and is always dressed in green, yellow and purple clothes, almost identical of that of the Grand Minimus Teensies. In his appearance in Rayman 3 he had undergone a number of changes, such as his hands and eyes which are now much bigger than in Rayman 2, and his wings have become more fly-like. His clothes have also been slightly changed, notably his shoes which are elf-like. He also appears to have fingers and legs now, unlike the previous game.

Videogame Appearances
Rayman 2
In all versions of Rayman 2 except for the Playstation version, Murfy seems to be an innocent character that plays as a guide for Rayman, giving him instructions on how to pull off his moves while going through the Woods of Light. All around the world there are Stones of Thought. If Rayman stands next to one of these for a while and thinks, Murfy will come back to him and repeat his instructions.

Rayman Revolution
Murfy's job as an instructor is a little more looked into at the beginning of Rayman Revolution, as there is an extra stage after the Woods of Light in which he teaches Rayman how to swim and how to shoot, using a scarecrow as his first target.

Rayman 3
Murfy later appears in Rayman 3, and this time he carries a manual (a purple booklet with a picture of the original Rayman's face on it), which he reads from instead of passing his own knowledge to Rayman. He develops a more cocky personality than before, and often rants about how he is stuck with being a sidekick, as well as giving witty comments and sarcastic remarks about the Manual as Rayman goes through the Fairy Council. In this game, he is voiced by Billy West, who had also voiced Rayman in the Animated Series four years earlier. Unlike Rayman 2, in which he can appear anywhere in the game which has a Stone of Thought, Murfy leaves at the Heart of the World.

Other games
Murfy also makes brief appearances in many handheld Rayman games, such as Rayman 3 for the GBA and Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge, in which he overviews the games' instructions as before. In the GBA version of Rayman Raving Rabbids, he is sent to help Rayman escape from his cell.

Cameos
* Although Murfy is in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids as a guide, his face can also be seen in the 'Shoot a Rabbid' minigames.
* Murfy also appears in Rayman Arena as a reporter/paparazzi in cutscenes that play before each new cup is played.
However, there is a cut-out of a female, bikini-clad glewt. Believing this to be Toots, Globox rushes forward and attempts to hug the cut-out, and falls into a strategically-placed trap door. Toots also appears as a target in the firing range. Hoodlums are penalised for shooting it,
as it is intended to represent an ally.

Rumors
*André's girlfriend
Toots is probably André's girlfriend. This can be true, because in the beta of rayman 4 ( the platformer), you had to team up with an old enemy (probably andré ) to rescue his girlfriend and yours.

Mawpaws are creatures which look like kangaroos and goats. They have brown or blue fur (blue in the Xowar secret). The Teensies are using Mawpaws for transportation as seen in the intro.

Hoodlums
The Mawpaws are very handy for the Hoodlums, their clothes are made of Mawpaw wool. As seen in the intro, the black lums are flying laps around the Mawpaw to steal their fur.

Appearances
The Mawpaw is a cut creature from Rayman 3. But they'd already made the model, so they decided to throw them in a secret room so that their work would't entirely go to waste.
