==Wiki Alliance==
Hi, I am an admin from Kid Icarus Wiki. I'd like to know if your wiki is interested in joining a [http://dawn.wikkii.com/wiki/Main_Page video game wiki alliance]. The alliance has the internet's top wikis on Trauma Center, Drawn to Life, Nintendogs, Custom Robo, and Kid Icarus. The main goal of the alliance is to improve each wiki by sharing traffic, sharing ideas, and promoting interlinking. This wiki wouldn't have to give up any rights or anything (you don't even have to link back if you don't want to, though we would appreciate it), all we ask is for someone from this wiki to check out the site every week or two and take part in wiki discussions. Anyway, that's all, just send me a message when you get a chance. Thank you. --[[User:Vhehs2|Vhehs2]]
:Hi there ;) Looks like a very interesting proposition, unfortunately I do not have time to coordinate such a partnership. If any RayWiki contributor is willing to manage our alliance and serve as the main interlocutor with DAWN, we will be glad to join you! An additional snapshot from the PlayStation version would be great though, as it would both illustrate the translucent water you're talking about (I don't remember it though) and the fish itself. :Since Rayman 2 level articles are based on tables (one line (which is also one cell since there's only one row) per version), you simply have to put the external links in an additional cell which will prevent them from being displayed in the PS2 or GBC section. '''''Rayman 3D''''' is a port of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]'', and a launch title for the Nintendo 3DS, in which it makes use of the 3DS's stereoscopic 3D graphics. It is also playable in 2D mode.

==Description==
The existence of ''Rayman 3D'' was leaked several weeks in advance of its announcement by the Australian Classification Board, although they gave little information beyond the title; in the press release in which they officially announced the game, [[Ubisoft]] revealed that, like the iOS version of ''Rayman 2'', ''Rayman 3D'' was to be based directly on the well-received Dreamcast version of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]''. Four screenshots were also unveiled: they show that ''Rayman 3D'' will feature significantly reworked graphics. The improved lighting system is visible in the screenshots of [[the Prison Ship]] and [[the Bayou]], and the new stereoscopic depth effect can be seen clearly in the screenshot of the [[Whale Bay]]. The screenshot of [[the Fairy Glade]] shows that the [[keg]] has been remodelled; presumably, other models in the game will receive the same treatment.

==Press release==
What follows is [[Ubisoft]]'s official press release regarding the game:

‘''Rayman 3D is an adaptation of [[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]] on Dreamcast, the greatest version of all [[Rayman]]'s games.''

‘''Thanks to Rayman 3D, rediscover the incredible adventures of [[Rayman]] in a deeper and optimized universe. Progress in a 3D world full of surprises and magical creatures, and defeat unmerciful enemies throughout dangerous environments: Join Rayman in an even better platforming game!''

‘''Features:''

* ''Adaptation of the greatest Rayman opus – Rayman 3D is the adaptation of [[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]] on Dreamcast which happened to be the best version of the trilogy (93% on Game Rankings).''
* ''Significant improvements on gameplay – This version has beneficiated from a special treatment, offering improved graphics, 3D, and giving players the possibility to take advantage of the analog stick.''
* ''The 3D version makes the game more accessible and brings more advantages: improved learning curve, immersive cameras, graphical enhancements. A great diversity of environments – Progress in 45 areas set across 13 regions of [[the Glade of Dreams|Rayman's world]]. Uncover the whole universe in 3D during +/−15 hours of fun.''
* ''Unique [[Rayman]] moves – Run, climb, jump, swim, fly, loop-the-loop and even [[Sssssam|water-ski]] to escape from the threat! Rayman did not lose any of his famous abilities such as flying as an [[helicopter]] using his hair!''
* ''Rediscover the richness of [[Rayman]]'s cast – Get back to the good old quarrels between Rayman and his villainous enemies: Face the [[Admiral Razorbeard]], the [[Henchman 800|Henchman]] and every other creature that make Rayman's progression much harder! Hopefully, Rayman can count on his friends' support! The [[Globox]], [[Ly the Fairy|Ly]], or [[Polokus]] are all ready to help.''’
'''''Rayman 3 HD''''' is a high-definition<ref>The game runs at 720p (1280 × 720), the minimum standard for high-definition, and does not support higher resolutions, while the [[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc|original version of the game]] on PC can be configured to use any resolution, including 1080p and higher.</ref> remake of '''''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'''''. It was released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade on the 21st March, 2012. ''Rayman 3 HD'' follows ''Hoodlum Havoc'' closely, but it features enhanced visuals, and makes changes in numerous areas.

==Differences from ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]''==
* The ''Hoodlum Havoc'' subtitle has been removed, and the font of the logo has been changed to match that of ''[[Rayman Origins]]''.
* The game now features subtitles, but they only work for in-game cutscenes and some other in-game dialogue.
* The original version opened with a gameplay trailer cut to Groove Armada's 'Madder'. This has been removed and replaced with a new trailer featuring new music.
* The intro sequence originally began with the classic [[Ubisoft|Ubi Soft]] logo, used for the first three [[Rayman (series)|''Rayman'' games]], overlaid against a night sky. This has been cut.
* ''Rayman 3 HD'' features audio problems. Many music tracks start later than they should, and often contain glitches.
* In [[the Fairy Council]], a [[Ludiv]] originally spoke the line 'Oh my God, what is going on here?' In ''Rayman 3 HD'', this line is censored to 'What is going on here?' However, the words 'Oh my God' seen in the [[Crush]] minigame remain uncensored.
* Parts of the sky above the [[Clearleaf Forest]] have become black, and the colour of the water has undergone strange changes. The reasons for such discolourings are currently unknown.
* The bonus section of the game contains an "extra" which is a gallery of the artworks seen in the ''[[Rayman Origins]]'' art booklet which came with the collector's edition.
* The shadows of objects and characters have been known to glitch up, often passing directly through surfaces and appearing/disappearing at random. The shadows also sometimes aren't cast according to the location of the light source, and instead appear directly beneath the caster. This is likely due to a lack of testing when experimenting with the newer shading technology.
* The [[jewels]] and [[red lum]]s now cast light onto the geometry around them, as opposed to ''Hoodlum Havoc'', where only a glowing texture was placed around them.
* The [[Grand Minimus]]'s crown is now transparent.

'''''Rayman Rush''''' is a remake of ''[[Rayman M]]'' developed by Ubisoft Shanghai only for the Sony Playstation in 2002. While it was the same game as ''Rayman M'' both in terms of plot and concept, only the racing half of the game was ported, and there are a lot of differences, probably due to the Playstation's limited specifications, resulting in a poor conversion.

==Differences==
* The [[Teensie]]s are replaced by a pink female [[Globox]] called [[Globette]] who is unlockable, uses [[Tily]]'s sound clips sped down, and for an unknown reason, shares the musical theme of [[Dark Globox]], a character who only appears in the Gamecube and XBox versions of ''[[Rayman Arena]]'', the North American version of ''Rayman M''. Because of this, the player starts with only four characters in this version.
* The menu music is lower in pitch.
* Each character is now equipped with freeze bullets like in the ''Rayman M'' battle game Lum Spring, which freezes a character for five seconds when shot.
* Some of ''Rayman M'''s bonus levels now use textures and are made into proper levels, most notably the [[Canopy (Rayman Rush)|Canopy]].
* The [[Water Canyon]] level has a new map.
* The game has a slightly different ending, which is shown after beating just the Championship.
* Only 2 players can play together this time.
* While it also has the same intro as ''Rayman M'', the part which introduces the Teensies was removed.
* The [[Popolopoï]] mode is renamed to "Target Mode", and a time attack mode was added.
* The [[Lum]]s Mode is now all about collecting as many yellow Lums as possible while racing against another character.
* Tily's voice is apparently a mix of her voice clips and [[Ly]]'s, which are sped up.

==Issues==
A known issue of the game is that it is somehow impossible to complete the game at 100%. Clearing every single challenge will only leave the player's file at 98.8%. Why this happens is currently unknown.

==Levels==
* [[First Ruins]]
* [[Nebulous Tower]]
* [[Dark Sewer]]
* [[Water Canyon]]
* [[Dawn Sand]]
* [[1000 Waterfalls]]
* [[Canopy (Rayman Rush)|Canopy]]
* [[Forest Jump]]
* [[Zenith Harbor]]
* [[Electric Final]]
* [[Lava Factory]]
* [[Pipe Maze]]

==Voice cast==
*[[David Gasman]] as [[Rayman]]
*Jodi Forrest as [[Tily]], [[Razorwife]], [[Globette]]
*Martial Le Minoux as [[Henchman 1000]]
*Joseph Sheridan as [[Globox]], [[Henchman 800]]
*Ken Starcevic as [[Razorbeard]]

A '''Ninja Crab''' is a non-[[Hoodlum]] enemy found in the console version of ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc|Rayman 3]]'' and in ''[[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]]''. In both games, they are only encountered in [[the Fairy Council]]. These enemies burrow underground to hide, and then reappear at another spot in [[Rayman]]'s range. They attack Rayman by throwing starfish at him. Their behaviour is quite similar to that of the [[Muddibog]]s.

They are much more aggressive than their [[Crab|smaller counterparts]].

A '''Blue Lum''' is a type of [[Lum]] which is found underwater in all versions of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]'' except for ''[[Rayman Revolution]]'', in which they are replaced with [[air bubble]]s. They contain oxygen, which [[Rayman]] needs when he swims in bodies of water he cannot resurface to, otherwise his oxygen meter will run out and he will drown. Some stay and provide an unlimited amount of oxygen. Others disappear for a while once they have been collected.

==History==
Blue Lums in ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]'' are said to represent the origin of all life, and the very first breath of a creature's life. When a creature is born, it is given Blue Lums to keep until the day it dies. As he is the only being [[Polokus]] did not dream, [[Rayman]] may or may not carry his own Blue Lums in this way.

==Usage in other games==
Blue Lums also appear in [[Rayman 3 (Game Boy Advance)|the Game Boy Advance version of ''Rayman 3'']], ''[[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]]'' and [[Rayman Raving Rabbids (Game Boy Advance)|the Game Boy Advance version of ''Rayman Raving Rabbids'']]. In these games, the Blue Lums resemble [[Ting]]s, and they do not give [[Rayman]] air; instead they briefly grant him the [[Super Helicopter]] power, much like the potion he receives from [[the Musician]] in [[Rayman 1|the original game]]. In ''Hoodlums' Revenge'', they simply act as fuel which sustains the [[Throttle Copter]] – a separate pick-up which allows Rayman to fly via a mechanical apparatus attached to his head. Rayman must quickly collect Blue Lums in order to keep the Throttle Copter in the air.
'''Lum Kings''', sometimes called '''Prince Lums''', are big [[Lums]] wearing crowns that appear in ''[[Rayman Origins]]''. They can be seen flying and sleeping like normal Lums, but unlike them, Lum Kings are usually seen moving their arms rhythmically. When awakened, Lum Kings add 5 regular Lums to the score of the player who took them. They also play a dance, in which all of the Lums on the area start dancing and singing, and turn hot and red for a short period. These red Lums cost the double to what they normally do, so players must catch them all in order to get a higher score. When the song ends, lums turn yellow again, and go back to their sleep. Sometimes, Lum Kings are caught in bubbles, which are hidden in small areas that the player must find in order to turn all of the lums red. Lum Kings are usually found next to big groups of regular Lums that sometimes also have to be found in hidden bubbles. Is unknown if Lum Kings really rule over the regular Lums and have their kingdoms, as there are big amounts of Lum Kings in the [[Glade of Dreams]] (Much like the [[Grand Minimus]]).
'''Grolem 13''' ('''''Bigum Aerum Tornadus Recyclus''''') is a boss character exclusive to ''[[Rayman Revolution]]'', located at the end of [[the Iron Mountains]]. He is the fourth and last Guardian of the [[Four Masks of Polokus]] in ''Rayman Revolution''. He fires icicles, tornadoes and thunderclouds. Rayman must use his [[magic fist]] to reflect Grolem 13's electrical clouds back at him, causing them to build up voltage and create a bolt of lightning, which strikes him on his weak head. The battle with Grolem 13 replaces the phase of [[the Iron Mountains]] in which Rayman pilots a [[Warship]] to rescue [[baby Globox]]es; this section becomes [[the Pirate Mines|its own level]]. Unlike the previous Guardians, Grolem 13 has his own unique theme music. The pillar containing his [[Four Masks of Polokus|Mask]] is also noticeably different from the previous three.

==Appearance==
Grolem 13 looks very similar to [[Axel]] and [[Foutch]]. He is sky-blue in colour, and his chest is decorated with a pattern of five rings, each containing another ring. His fists are flecked with black. Compared to Axel and Foutch, whose faces are frozen in constant snarls, Grolem 13 has a 'silly' facial expression – his eyes are crossed and his tongue is sticking out of his mouth.

==Strategy==
[[Rayman]] rides a floating blue crystal from [[the Iron Mountains]] high into the clouds. As he approaches the fourth [[Four Masks of Polokus|Mask]] of [[Polokus]], which is trapped in ice, Grolem 13 materialises out of the air and attacks him. At the beginning of the battle, he shoots a tornado at Rayman; the entire battle is fought in midair, with Rayman using his [[helicopter]] power to manoeuvre. One of his attacks is identical to Axel's attack – he throws icicles at Rayman. In another, more powerful attack, he throws ice boulders at Rayman which break up into smaller, yet still large boulders as they fly through the air, making it difficult for Rayman to dodge them. In another attack, which he usually performs after he has thrown the boulders, he will hold his fists in front of him and charge towards Rayman in an attempt to smash him. Another attack involves summoning a vertical lightning bolt directly down upon Rayman. Grolem 13's most common attack consists of constantly shooting small stormclouds at Rayman. However, if Rayman shoots the cloud with his [[magic fist]], it is reflected backwards and hovers above Grolem 13's head. As more clouds gather above him, they grow darker, until the voltage grows so great that a bolt of lightning strikes out of the cloud and hits the Guardian's head, electrocuting and damaging him. This process must be performed three times in order to fully deplete Grolem 13's health. Defeated, Grolem 13 gets flatter and descends, swaying from side to side. The ice around the [[Four Masks of Polokus|Mask]] breaks off, allowing Rayman to collect it.

'''The Fairy Council''' is a location first seen in ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'', although it was originally mentioned in ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]''. <ref name="pchof">''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]'' manual, http://www.raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:R2TGE-Manual-PC-ReferenceTheFairyCouncil.jpg</ref> It plays a similar role in the game to that of [[the Woods of Light]] in ''Rayman 2''. The Fairy Council acts a tutorial level in which [[Murfy]] reprises his role as [[Rayman]]'s guide and introduces the player to the game's controls. [[The Heart of the World]], which was also previously mentioned in ''Rayman 2'' (and seen in the form of its constituent [[Yellow Lum]]s), is located here. It is finally seen at the end of the level.

[[File:RaymanFC.jpg|thumb|right|320px|[[Rayman]] and the [[greenbottle]] [[Murfy]] in the Fairy Council]]

==Description==
In spite of its name, the Fairy Council contains few [[fairy|fairi]]es; neither [[Betilla the Fairy|Betilla]] nor [[Ly the Fairy|Ly]] appear. The only fairies which are seen in the Fairy Council are a handful of [[Ludiv]]s and a number of miniscule, [[firefly]]-like fairies that do not appear elsewhere in the series. The Fairy Council is more importantly the resting place of [[the Heart of the World]], the mystical conglomeration of energy which contains all 1000 existing [[Yellow Lum]]s and is the source of all power – including that of the god [[Polokus]]. The chamber in which the Heart of the World is contained is also the throne room of the [[Grand Minimus]], the four amnesiatic kings of the [[Teensie]]s. They use it as a strobe light to complement their disco dancing.

Surrounded by a tranquil forest, the ominous Fairy Council is mysterious and majestic. The interior glows with a blue aura and various halls have reflective walls or floors. [[Ludiv|Ludivs]] reside within the council walls in a similar fashion to ants. Deep within the Fairy Council lies the [[Grand Minimus]]' throne room and the [[Heart of the World]].

As alluded to in the manual of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]'', the Fairy Council acts a sort of central meeting place when trouble strikes [[the Glade of Dreams]].

The Fairy Council is the only level in ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc|Rayman 3]]'' in which [[Murfy]] appears. At one point in the level, he laments that he is still stuck playing a sidekick, even after his role in ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]''. At the end of the level, he departs, saying ‘See you in ''[[Rayman 4 (cancelled prototype)|Rayman 4]]''!’ – a game which never came to fruition.

==As a level==
===Stage 1===
Straight after the introduction cinematic, the game begins. [[Murfy]] picks up [[Rayman]], whose hands have gone missing, by his hair and airlifts him over the grounds near the Council, which has just been invaded by [[Hoodlum]]s. The player mainly controls the handless Rayman, who steers Murfy by leaning his weight left and right. He must manoeuvre to collect enough of the [[Red Lum]]s that are scattered throughout the area. If Rayman has not collected enough of them to restore his health to a satisfactory level, Murfy takes him back to the beginning again. There are two rounds of Red Lums to gather. Once enough have been accumulated, the pair make their way to safety.

As this is an introductory level in which Combo mode is yet to be introduced, there is no score to gain (the total level score for this stage will count as 100%, or 5 stars).

===Stage 2===
[[Rayman]] and [[Murfy]] end up in a quieter place around the Fairy Council, which is scattered with [[jewels]], most of which are yellow. At this point, [[Murfy]] withdraws the [[Manual]] and tells [[Rayman]] that his missing hands are in possession of [[Globox]], who is hiding somewhere. He then introduces the player to the game's score system, in which points are added to the score for certain actions. [[Rayman]] then begins his search for [[Globox]], while breaking [[Garden Raygnome]]s by kicking with his feet and collecting gems and [[Red Lum]]s (if he needs them). Some of the [[Jewel|jewels]] form a trail.

Eventually, [[Rayman]] and [[Murfy]] are outside of the Fairy Council itself, where they find a shivering barrel and a footswitch. It turns out that [[Globox]] is hiding in this, and Rayman has to follow him. The foot switch causes what appears to be a stone block to appear, which blocks [[Globox]]'s path, allowing [[Rayman]] to kick him free. Now the the friends have reunited, so do [[Rayman]]'s hands, and he can now use his fist to attack. Near the entrance, he'll encounter a single [[Hermit Crab]] hidden in the ground.

At the door of the Council, there is a hand switch which turns on a light that attracts [[Globox]]'s attention briefly. He turns around and notices a gang of [[Hoodlum|Hoodlums]] - a [[Hoodmonger]] and two [[Slapdash]]es - coming down in an air boat. [[Globox]] runs straight through the door into the Council, followed by these [[Hoodlum|Hoodlums]], and then [[Rayman]] and [[Murfy]].

===Stage 3===
At this point, Rayman and Murfy arrive inside the Fairy Council itself, starting with a small chamber in which at the centre is an elevator with a hand switch. Rayman has to punch this repeatedly to lift him upwards to the next level, in which there is a path going in an upwards spiral followed by several ledges. He first encounters [[pigpot]]s in here, and these need to be broken in order for the door at the top of this chamber to open. This leads him into a larger chamber in which there is an elevator with a sheet of stained glass in a form of a hand switch. Rayman has to perform lateral shots at this [[switch]] to lift him up to the next level.

When he reaches the top, he will encounter a [[Hoodmonger]] which somehow displays a dollar ($) sign atop its head. The glass bridge between them lifts itself upwards, and Rayman will have to shoot laterally again to inflict damage to the Hoodmonger. Upon its defeat, [[André]] emerges and then flies away, leaving a small, mysterious green can on the floor. Murfy examines it, and discovers that it contains [[Laser-Washing Powder]] that transforms the user's clothes into combat fatigues. Rayman decides to use it against Murfy's warnings that it could be dangerous, thus introducing him to the [[Vortex]] power.

With the glass bridge being lowered, Rayman encounters three [[Meadowscrew]]s which can be screwed into the floor when he punches them under the influence of the Vortex. Once they are down, Rayman can climb up them and kill a [[Slapdash]] before finally walking down a corridor thus ending this stage.

===Stage 4===
Rayman and Murfy arrive in a large chamber. At the left side, there is a wooden target with a crude painting of Globox, at which a Hoodmonger carrying a Vortex hides behind. He uses this to strike at some stone ledges with similar properties to the Meadowscrews, ending with a bouncy platform that lifts him onto a ceiling of vines that he has to climb onto. This leads him into a small chamber with a wall of vines to climb up, then leading him into a corridor with a slippery slope. The only way to cross this is to bounce on the floating platforms there. At the top of the slope there is another wall of vines, leading him to another chamber in which the [[fairy|fairies]] are found.

André hides in one of six areas in which the fairies nest. A [[Slapdash]] carrying a Vortex and a group of [[podocrock]]s are encountered here. Rayman will have to keep checking the nests until André is found. André escapes through the doors that lead to the [[Heart of the World]], which are then opened by one of the fairies. Rayman then goes through, climbing in between two walls (akin to ''[[Rayman 2]]''), and then into a chamber with a staircase that is falling apart.

This leads to another large chamber. Two [[Ninja Crab]]s are encountered here, one of which is crushed by a stone. A can of Vortex is also found here, which Rayman uses as appropriate to progress to a ceiling of vines which is also falling apart. At the end of this, Globox appears, only for André to head straight for him and get swallowed, causing Globox to run straight to the Heart of the World.

[[File:HeartOfTheWorld.jpg|thumb|320px|right|[[The Heart of the World]] lies in the final chamber of the Fairy Council]]

===Stage 5===
[[Rayman]] and [[Murfy]] finally arrive at [[the Heart of the World]], and the [[Grand Minimus]] find that [[André]] is still alive within [[Globox]]'s stomach. The Grand Minimus then instructs Rayman to take Globox to see the [[Teensie doctor]] [[Otto Psi]], whose office is in [[Clearleaf Forest]]. They toss Globox into a portal, and Rayman himself follows after Murfy bids him goodbye.

A secret room can be found in this area, which is accessible if Rayman was to climb on a ledge on one of the pillars, and then run across the ledge higher up in the room. A secret door opens, and Rayman then slides down a spiral band of neon lights trailed with [[gem]]s, ending with a green [[jewel]]. He is then returned to the Heart of the World.
'''The Manual''' is an item which appears in ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'' and provides [[Rayman]] with information he needs to get through the game. It is a purple booklet with an image of Rayman's face on the front cover; this image depicts Rayman as he appeared in [[Rayman 1|the original game]].

The Manual makes its first appears at the beginning of the second phase of [[the Fairy Council]], the first of nine levels in ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]''. It is in the possession of Rayman's coach, the [[greenbottle]] [[Murfy]], who reads out general information the Manual has on the game's basics. Murfy notices that most of the Manual's advice is extremely obvious (eg ‘Push the jump button to jump.’), and makes sarcastic remarks about some of its advice (eg ‘Someone gets paid to write this junk?’ and ‘It says here you can [[helicopter|make a chopper outta your hair]]... make a chopper outta your hair. Sounds like [[Ubisoft|someone]]'s been eating paint chips again.’)

Eventually the Manual grows angry at [[Murfy]]'s rudeness and disobedience and begins to speak itself, via subtitles. It threatens to fire Murfy from the game if he does not follow the ‘script’. The Manual does not appear after [[the Fairy Council]], as its only purpose is to assist Murfy in providing instructions to [[Rayman]] during the game's early sections.

An '''article''' is a content page that covers the knowledge of its subject - be it a character, game, item etc relating to the ''[[Rayman]]'' series. At RayWiki, we aim to cover as much knowledge about the series as possible, therefore new articles will be needed over time. This manual will give you an idea on the basic requirements that are needed when you create and expand articles.

==Required Criteria==
# '''Bold''' and repeat the title of the article in the first sentence.
# Give as much '''detail''' to the article as possible.
# '''Italicise''' all game titles, and remember to link them as well.
# '''Links''' - link to as many other articles as possible once.
# Try not to use the word ''''you'''' when referring to playing the game. Acceptable alternatives can be the character's name or 'the player must'.
# Apply '''Categories''' to your new article, preferably as many related ones as possible.

==Enhancements==
The following items are not critically required when making new articles, but will give it a much more professional appearance.
# '''Images''' to illustrate the article; it is recommended that we have ''at least'' one for every article.
# '''Knowledge/Notice''' templates (eg. infoboxes).
# '''Galleries''' for displaying a group of images together.
# '''Tables''' for laying statistical information neatly.

==How to create/edit an article==
* To '''Create''' an article, click on a red link, which will take you straight to the Editing field. Searching for one that doesn't exist and then clicking 'Create this page' will do the same.
* To '''Edit''' an article, click the 'edit' tab that is displayed on top of it, third tab from the left.

==Naming an article==
Currently, Raywiki is an English wiki with French, German and Hungarian versions, so when naming a new article, please use the appropriate names for each of the languages (for example, if you speak French and wish to make an article about the Teensies, then you go to the French version and name your article 'Ptizêtres' instead of doing it in the English version). If you speak a language that is not available here and wish for a new version of the wiki to cover this language, feel free to contact us.

===Game articles===
The ''Rayman'' series is a French-European franchise, and as such we prefer game articles to be titles with the European titles of each game. For example, if you wish to name an article about ''Rayman Arena'', the North American version of ''Rayman M'', then you should use the name ''Rayman M'', and then redirect other international titles. If there is no European title, then a North American one will be used instead.

===Character and item etc articles===
Again, the name of an article about these subjects should correspond to the first official English name, for example, an article about the Rabbids should be called by their English name, 'Rabbid', rather than their French name, 'Lapins Crétins'. If there is no English name, then the first official international name should be used, eg. the French name. If there is no official name, then a name that describes the subject may be used until an official name is found. For example, the unnamed red giants in Bongo Hills may be called 'Red monster'.

===Other points to consider===
* If you wish to make an article about something that shares the same name as another, then a few words to describe the second name should be used in brackets. For example, an article called 'the Land of the Livid Dead' would be about the ''Rayman 3'' level, but there is also a level that shares in this name in ''Rayman: Hoodlum' Revenge'', so the article about this second level name should be called 'The Land of the Livid Dead (Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge)'.
* Try not to abbreviate titles. For example, 'Rayman (GBC)' should be called 'Rayman (Game Boy Color)' instead.
* Currently, the only special characters that are supported are - (), ! and -. Any others may cause a 404 error.

==Step by Step Examples==
===Bolding===
All articles must begin with title of the article being repeated and '''bolding''' it for emphasis. If there is a full official name for a character for example, that should be included as well. When referring to a game, this should be italicised with 5 apostrophes <nowiki>('''''name''''')</nowiki> as well.

:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>'''Carmen the Whale''' is a character from the ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]'' games.</nowiki></span>

===Detail===
A good article should have as much detail about its subject as possible. What does a character look like, and what games does he appear in? Is he a friend, or a foe? If you know, write it down, but remember that you should also comply to the [[Raywiki:Basic Rules|basic rules]].

:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>'''Carmen the Whale''' is a character from the ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]'' games. In every version, Carmen's first appearance was on the Main Menu, making her the first main character to appear in the game, even before [[Rayman]]. Carmen's home is in the ocean, though she occasionally makes trips to [[Whale Bay]]. Carmen has been witnessed having a taste for the thorny roots common in [[the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava]]. Carmen the whale's main job in life is to survey the depths of the ocean, depositing air bubbles to help any stray plants and animals, and in this case also Rayman. [[Piranha]]s are very fond of her air bubbles, since they suffer from heartburn.</nowiki></span>

===Italicising===
All titles within the article, be it the name of a game or a television show, must be italicised using 2 apostrophes <nowiki>('')</nowiki>.

:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>'''Raywiki''' is a wiki about the ''[[Rayman]]'' series. It covers as many of the ''Rayman'' games as possible, such as ''[[Rayman 1|Rayman]],'' ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]'', ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'', as well as the ''[[Rayman Raving Rabbids]]'' series. It also covers spin-offs such as ''[[Rayman: The Animated Series]]''.</nowiki></span>

===Links===
It is important to [[Help:Link|link]] to lots of other articles in each article, as it helps a user to navigate in the Wiki. Try not to link to an article to a subject more than once though, if the name shows up again, leave it as plain text.

:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>'''Raywiki''' is a wiki about the ''[[Rayman]] series''. It aims to cover as many of the ''Rayman'' games as possible, as well as its characters, such as [[Ly the Fairy]], [[Globox]], [[Betilla the Fairy]], [[the Magician]], [[Mister Dark]] and many more. It aims to describe the characters as accurately as possible, and also sets them into categories. Ly the Fairy and Betilla the Fairy are both [[Fairy|fairies]], so they would both be placed in the [[Category:Fairies|Fairies category]].</nowiki></span>

===Not using the word 'You'===
When referring to, say, playing a certain part of a game, using the word 'you' is not encouraged on this wiki. Instead, either a character's name or 'the player' should be used instead, as it will make the article read more professionally.

:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>Rayman is now in the Pirate strongehold, and the player has to find a switch to deactivate the electric bars.</nowiki></span>

===Assigning a Category===
[[Special:Categories|Categories]] help to keep the wiki organised, and helps a user to find similar subjects, so it's important to assign at least one category to an article. If the article is about Rayman, then it should be in the Characters category, while an article about Yellow Lums should be placed in the Items category. Category links always go at the bottom of the article when editing.

:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>[[Category:Characters]]</nowiki></span>
:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>[[Category:Characters from Rayman 3]]</nowiki></span>
:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>[[Category:Enemies]]</nowiki></span>
:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>[[Category:Enemies from Rayman 3]]</nowiki></span>

==Sections==
Naming a section within an article will depend on what the article is about, so here's a guideline to what's most appropriate for each subject type.

===Games===
:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>==Plot==</nowiki></span>
===Characters===
::<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>===Personality===</nowiki></span>
:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>==Biography or Videogame appearances==</nowiki></span>

===Levels (ie ''Rayman 2'' and ''Rayman 3'')===
:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>==Original version==</nowiki></span>
::<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>===Phase 1===</nowiki></span>
:<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>==Other console version==</nowiki></span>
::<span style="color:#CC6633;font-family:Courier New;font-size:13px"><nowiki>==Differences==</nowiki></span>

==Trivia==
Trivia is a series of facts that relate to the subject, but don't put too much.

==Other points to consider==
* Proper spelling and grammar is incredibly important when writing articles.
* Never insert nonsense into an article. That includes fake and unconfirmed ''Rayman'' titles.
* Certain pieces of information should be backed up by using a citation.
* Don't just copy from Wikipedia, we can usually tell and most of the time their edits are rubbish.

[[Image:Four Masks of Polokus.jpg|frame|The Four Masks, from left to right: Water, Earth, Fire and Air]]

The '''Four Masks of Polokus''' are a group of magical masks that are hidden away in the Sanctuaries, except for the last one which was found by a [[baby Globox]] in most versions of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]''. It becomes [[Rayman]]'s goal to find these after [[Ly]] tells him about them when she is rescued in the [[Fairy Glade]], as a legend tells that when the masks reunite, [[Polokus]] will awaken from his long suspension. Each one is protected by a Guardian, who is instructed by [[Polokus]] to ward off any intruders that attempt to steal them. (The Guardians were omitted in ''[[Rayman 2 Forever]]'', the Game Boy Color version.)

[[Image:PolokusPillar-RR-TSOWAI.jpg|thumb|right|320px|The pillar containing the first Mask of Polokus]]

[[Image:The Hall of Doors PS1 16 Tomb of the Ancients.jpg|thumb|left|320px|In the PlayStation version, [[the Hall of Doors]] is divided into four Mask-specific sections by large physical doors.]]

Each of the Four Masks of Polokus is contained within a four-sided pillar at the end of its Sanctuary; each side of these pillars is decorated by the same [[Rayman's symbol|‘O’-shaped symbol]] found on [[Rayman]]'s chest. When Rayman approaches these pillars, a beam of energy connects his symbol with one of the ones on the pillar, causing the pillar to open, and the Mask to rise out of it for Rayman to collect. When [[Rayman]] takes hold of one of the Masks, he is teleported to [[Polokus]], who takes the Mask from him and affixes it to one of the four sides of the pillar he is standing on (this pillar looks the same as the ones the Masks are found in). When all four Masks are attached to [[Polokus]]'s pillar, the pillar spins rapidly, transforming into a gas-like substance. When [[Rayman]] steps into this at [[Polokus]]'s instruction, he is transported to [[the Prison Ship]]. Then, the pillar resolidifies under the newly-awakened Polokus, but the Four Masks are nowhere to be seen.

In the Sega Dreamcast version of ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]'', the player can gain access to the [[Globox Disc]] minigame in the [[Globox Village]] by collecting the [[Glob Crystal]]s. Entering the [[Globox Disc]] minigame causes a short cutscene to play: [[Globox]] and [[Uglette]] are watching as [[Baby Globox|their children]] play; the First and Third Masks are visible on wooden sticks in the background; the other two Masks are presumably also in the area. A male [[baby Globox]] accidentally drops the Third Mask into a pool of water; this causes a Globox-shaped statue to rise out of the pool. The statue opens its mouth and sinks back into the pool, leaving behind the [[Globox Disc]] on which the [[Baby Globox|babies]] play the ‘Game of the Gods’.

'''Polokus''', also known as the '''Bubble Dreamer''', is a divine character who appears in ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]]'' and ''[[Rayman Origins]]''. Said to be the spirit of the world, he created [[the Glade of Dreams]] and its inhabitants through the sheer power of his dreams. Unfortunately, his nightmares also have a life of their own: during the [[First Bad Dream]], he spawned [[Jano]], introducing much evil into the Glade.

==Appearance==
In ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]'', he appears as a pale, squat, somewhat amphibious creature with long, spindly arms, He stands atop a stone column designed as a receptacle for the [[four Masks of Polokus]], and wears a pair of blue-green trousers with a golden buckle and a magician's hat identical to [[Jano]]'s. This may be Polokus's true form.

In ''[[Rayman Origins]]'', Polokus is known as the Bubble Dreamer. He wears a pair of sunglasses, no longer wears his trousers, and has a long ginger beard, similar to the [[Fakir]]s'. He has a bubble-blowing pipe, which he uses to convert his dreams to reality while he's asleep. During earlier development of Rayman Origins, Polokus was revealed to be a shape-shifter, but it's unknown if this idea was scrapped as Polokus is never seen changing his form. Early artwork of the game depicts the Bubble Dreamer as a rock, a giant tree and his most recent beardy appearance.

==Biography==
Polokus himself was created by the [[Lum]]s, though it is never specified which type of Lums created him. His power was such that his smallest dream or desire became reality. He is considered a god, but his connection with other gods such as [[the Leptys]] is largely unknown.

Polokus created [[the Glade of Dreams]], then decided to use his powers to bring people to his world. First, he created the [[Fairy|fairies]], who are his emissaries. The fairies were the creators of a fifth type of [[Lum]], the [[Silver Lum]]s; these are what give [[Rayman]] his powers. Next, Polokus created the [[Teensie|Teensies]], whose purpose is to unveil all the secret passages of the world. The [[Teensie|Teensies]] constructed [[the Hall of Doors]], a magic place where all paths eventually come together. Next, he created simpler creatures, beginning with [[Clark|Clark the Giant]], whose strength Polokus used to help carve the landscape. Next, Polokus created [[Globox]] and his family, drawing upon his sense of humour for inspiration. Polokus then created a multitude of fantastic creatures, such as [[Murfy]] and [[Eig]].

[[Image:Polokus_closeup.jpg|thumb|left|320px|Polokus awakens after receiving [[Four Masks of Polokus|the Fourth Mask]]]]

[[Image:Polokus_wide_shot.jpg|thumb|right|320px|The place where Polokus sleeps]]

Having created all the creatures of [[The Glade of Dreams|the world]], one task remained: creating time. In order to do this, Polokus went into a deep sleep to have a meeting with all the other gods of all the other worlds so that they could dream up the future together, a task which Polokus was unable to perform himself. Before doing this, Polokus created four masks that, when reunited, would awaken Polokus in case there was trouble. To avoid anyone waking him needlessly, he hid them in four Sanctuaries and placed Guardians there to protect them, each one with a weakness. This was done in such a way that only one being could get these masks: [[Rayman]]. Before going to sleep, Polokus explained this situation to the [[Fairy|fairies]], that they might aid [[Rayman]] when the time came to awaken him.

It is when [[Admiral Razorbeard|Razorbeard]] and his [[Robo-Pirate Army|Robo-Pirate]] army attack in [[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]] that Rayman must collect the four masks. After every time Rayman collects a mask, he meets Polokus in his dreams. Polokus takes the mask and urges Rayman to find the rest. After Rayman finds them all, Polokus explains that Rayman will have to fight Razorbeard on [[the Buccaneer]], because on the earth, Polokus is unbeatable but when in the air, he is as vulnerable as a newborn. Then he gives Rayman maximum energy and teleports him to [[the Prison Ship]]. Polokus then eliminates all the Robo-Pirates infesting the planet.
s. Trying to fight them was useless, and shortly, Rayman, Globox, the teensies and the Bubble Dreamer were caught in cages at the [[Snoring T
At the end of ''Rayman 2'', Polokus joins the other characters at Rayman's funeral, looking very sad. Then Rayman arrives, alive and well, and everyone, including Polokus, celebrates.

Polokus does not appear in ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc]]'', and his absence is not explained. His next appearance is in ''[[Rayman Origins]]'', where he is now known as the Bubble Dreamer. He has become a relaxed, jolly, whimsical being with a more childish attitude, and now dwells among his people. His appearance has changed: while still a fat, pale, amphibious creature, he no longer wears clothes, and he now has a long orange beard. He has become good friends with [[Rayman]], [[Globox]], the [[Teensie]]s and other characters. A magical instrument he uses to bring his dreams to life is seen for the first time: a wooden bubble-blowing pipe. Bubbles are introduced as a major motif which recurs throughout the game. It is revealed that the [[Electoon]]s are the stuff of Polokus's dreams and the substance of his world.

One day, the Bubble Dreamer and his creations are sleeping at [[the Snoring Tree]], their sound of their snoring annoys an irritable [[Granny]] who dwells deep in the subterranean [[Land of the Livid Dead (Rayman Origins)|Land of the Livid Dead]]. She sends an army of [[Antitoon|Darktoons]], [[Psychlops]] and other nighmare creatures to invade [[the Glade of Dreams]] and put a stop to the heroes' snoring. The creatures capture Rayman and his friends, imprisoning them in cages. Rayman soon escapes and pulls the Bubble Dreamer's beard, causing him to destroy his cage and free himself. [[Murfy]] appears, telling the heroes that in order to restore the Bubble Dreamer's memories (to make more playable characters appear), they should collect [[Electoon]]s. The Bubble Dreamer spends the rest of the game levitating inside the Snoring Tree, sometimes acting crazy, pulling his left eye, clucking like a chicken and pulling his head off. Characters can pull his beard to make him laugh and cause him to give a brief, whimsical description of the player's current character.

In the description given on the manual of the game, it is revealed that Polokus accidentally created [[Jano]] during his [[First Bad Dream]]. Jano then started creating [[Antitoon|Darktoons]], the negative equivalent of Electoons and the stuff of nightmares.

==Trivia==
* During ''Rayman 2'''s production, Polokus' original name was Polochus.
* In the text of [[the Knowledge of the World]], there are typos on Polokus' name, being incorrectly named as "Polukus".
