Wanderwood Forest is the first level in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3. Reminiscent of the Woods of Light and the Fairy Glade in Rayman 2, it is an introductory level in which Rayman starts looking for Globox, and meets Murfy, who again gives help and advice to the player about the games controls and some of the dangers that lurk even there. It is found in the Forgotten Forests on the World Map.

Level
Phase 1
There is one cage and 25 Yellow Lums in this phase, all of which can be obtained for the first time the level is played. Rayman exclusively seeks out Globox here, and meets Murfy along the way. There is no mortal danger here, though there are lots of pits underneath the masses of plant life Rayman climbs on.

Phase 2
Now, there are stagnated, piranha-infested waters reminiscent of those in the Fairy Glade, (which cause instant death upon contact) to cross with floating flowers. Rayman also encounters Green Lums, which like in Rayman 2 act as a checkpoint, and Red Lums, which recover his health. There are two cages - both of which can be reached - and 30 Yellow Lums in this phase, but Rayman will have to backtrack this area to collect them all after he is given the power to grab Purple Lums later on. After this phase, he meets Ly the Fairy, who gives him the power to use both of his fists, which will prove to be useful for knocking down large objects such as oversized kegs and crossing the deathly waters with.
- Murfy

The Helicopter, also known as the Helico, is the fourth power that Rayman is bestowed by Betilla the Fairy in the original game, at the end of Allegro Presto. However, it is still possible to get it before the grappling fist. It allows Rayman's hair to spin like helicopter blades, which lets him jump further. This way, he can reach platforms which were previously inaccessible and glide back onto the ground with precision.

A temporary upgrade of the Helicopter is also available: it is called the Super Helicopter. It allows him to fly in the air with his hair, which happens twice in the game: in Mr Stone's Peaks, when he is given the potion by the Musician, and in Pencil Pentathlon, where he finds another potion.

Even though Rayman loses most of his powers at the beginning of Rayman 2, his Helicopter remains, being as useful as ever. When he goes beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, Ly appears before him and gives him a Silver Lum, which upgrades his Helicopter to Super Helicopter again. Unfortunately, at the end of the level, he loses this upgrade to Foutch, who thumps him. In Rayman Revolution, this was partially restored, meaning that he could permanently fly only over pools of lava.

In Rayman 3, he retains his normal helicopter ability in this game. The Super Helicopter ability was revisited in the game as well, in the form of the Throttle Copter. The Throttle Copter was, of the five, the power with the shortest time limit, though it allows for brief flying similar to that in previous games.

In the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3, Rayman receives the power to fly with his Helicopter so long as he consumed a Blue Lum - small ones would let him fly for a little while, whereas large ones allowed him to fly until the end of the level, similar to that of the world Magmacosm. Blue Lums are first found in Prickly Passage, however you cannot use them until you have been given the power to do so by Ly. The first main level in this game to use these Blue Lums to continue is the Underlands. In this game, Rayman is unable to fly like the other games, as he can only stay a-float for 3 seconds until he falls.
The Hoodlums are members of an enemy species that are introduced in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. They are the product of a cluster of Black Lums that had stripped the fur of several animals and created all sorts of textile materials to hide their inner contents. They are often found sporting an assortment of weapons and powers, ranging from shotguns to bottles of plum juice used as grenades, and come in many shapes and sizes, as well as having special strengths and weaknesses. When each one is defeated, the Black Lum that was inside it escapes, but later on in the game they can be reverted to Red Lums and used to heal Rayman.

Video game appearances
The Hoodlum army is formed at the very beginning of Rayman 3, when a lone Red Lum is given a fright and becomes the Black Lum known as André. He proceeds to convert many other Red Lums into Black ones, and together they weave their outer bodies using the fur of several types of animals, and begin their invasion in the Fairy Council, where André was accidentally swallowed by Globox.

A Hoodmonger appears as a playable character in Rayman Kart, a spin off racing game available only for mobile phones.
The General, also known as the Grolgoth Salesman, is a character who appears in Rayman 2: The Great Escape and is seen only once for a short period of time near the end of the game. He makes his appearance in the Buccaneer in a cinematic scene. He has purple skin, a uniform with badges pinned to it, wears a hat which hides his eyes. He is limbless, and appears to be of the same species as Rayman and the other characters from the original Rayman.

Role in Rayman 2
He sells a machine called the Grolgoth to Razorbeard so that he can destroy Rayman. Razorbeard in return gives him a massive pirate's chest full of gold.

Trivia
* The General appears in the intro cutscene of the PC version of Tonic Trouble.
* An image of the General was shown in a promotional video for the now-cancelled 2D version of Rayman 2, suggesting that he may have had a larger role at some point in the game's development.
"You incompetent imbecile!" - Admiral Razorbeard on his lackey

Admiral Razorbeard's un-named lackey is a Robo-Pirate from Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 2: Revolution, and Rayman DS.

Description
Razorbeard's lackey looks somewhat different from the other Robo-Pirates. He looks more like a slightly-chubby pirate with a bandana around his head. Like most Robo-Pirates, he is taller than Admiral Razorbeard.

Razorbeard's lackey was in charge of the ground operations during Admiral Razorbeard's campaign. He was a mechanical genius, and created many dangerous devices.

Role in the Games
The lackey's role in the N64, PC, DC, and DS versions of Rayman 2 is very small. He appears in the cinematics where Razorbeard is informed of Rayman's whereabouts, but little more than that. In every game, however, he debuts in the cinematics prior to the Bayou.

PlayStation Version/Rayman 2: Revolution
In the two Sony versions of Rayman 2, the lackey is given much more importance. At multiple points he encounters Rayman and brings with him a difficult challenge. The lackey first strikes chronologically in Rayman 2: Revolution, in which he leads the attack on Clark and Rayman at the entrance to the Rainbow Creek. His next appearance, also Revolution-exclusive, is a boss fight: Razorbeard's lackey jumps into the Biditank to personally battle Rayman. The lackey next encounters Rayman in both the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 versions at the end of the Tomb of the Ancients, where it is seen that the lackey is controlling Clark via remote control. The lackey makes his final appearance solely in the PlayStation version at the end of the Gloomy Island, where he makes his last attempt to get rid of Rayman with his remote-control Robot Dinosaur. Fortunately for Rayman, the lackey forgot to fill up the Robot Dinosaur's fuel tank, and the Baby Globoxes escaped with Rayman. This is the only time dialogue occurs between the lackey and Rayman.

Before the final boss battle in The Crow's Nest, Razorbeard says he will punish him for his failures by seeing how he would swim in molten lava. However, it is not clear whether this punishment was ever carried out, and the fate of the lackey remains unknown.
Original version
The level begins with a cinematic involving a conversation between Admiral Razorbeard and his lackey. The lackey informs Razorbeard that Rayman has arrived at the swamp. Admiral Razorbeard chomps down on a Yellow Lum lowering the Yellow Lum maximum to 999. He then orders Rayman to be stopped. The scene ends with warships dropping down from the Buccaneer.

Rayman arrives at the bayou. As he enters, a Warship descends from the sky and prepares to bombard Rayman. Rayman, unable to swim through the green swampy waters, hops aboard a barrel floating in the water. The barrel begins to float down the river at the same time that the warship begins releasing bombs.

Shooting the bombs to avoid their explosions, Rayman arrives at a small bit of bare land. To the left is an old branch, hop on it to bust open a pirate cage and get 2 Red Lums. From here he hops aboard another barrel, and floats down more of the river until he reaches the bottom of a canyon. The warship is unable to reach him here and leaves. When Rayman goes to the top of the canyon, he sees a switch, and hits it. Watch out for a piranha . Rayman hops on the bridges and he goes into a cave. There a Robo-Pirate sleeps.

After doing battle with a Robo-Pirate, Rayman finds himself swinging onto another barrel via Purple Lum. However, the waterfall he begins floating towards is haunted by Zombie Chickens, which rise from the murk and attack. Beyond the phantoms, Rayman leaps onto a log and oversees another warship flying above the bayou.

Rayman flutters down to a wooden bridge, but the warship immediately fires a cannonball. Rayman dodges the cannonball quickly, but the bridge plummets into the water. Rayman rushes across bridge after bridge, and finally delves into a small cave.

Accessing the Walk of Life
Optionally in Phase 1, Rayman can choose to turn left and find the entrance to the Walk of Life, which is a portal that is surrounded by a circle of pillars with Ly the Fairy's face carved on each. When Rayman goes near this, an image of Ly will appear in the middle, and grand access to the Walk, depending on whether enough Yellow Lums are gathered. The Walk can then be accessed through the Hall of Doors.

Phase 2
Following more trials evading warships on rickety bridges, Rayman arrives at the next segment of the bayou. Rayman must scale the sides of giant trees while dodging kegs being rolled into the river. At the end of the trail is a great cliff towering over the swamp. In the distance stands a demonic tree with firey eyes and a grand mouth. By pressing a switch, a bridge extends allowing Rayman the distance he needs to reach a Purple Lum.

The lum sends him swinging into the tree's mouth, only to lead to an encounter with the invincible Ape Pirate. Rayman must either evade the Ape Pirate or send it too its doom, but either way he arrives at a booby trap-filled corridor. By pressing a time switch, Rayman is able to unbar the exit and evade the pendulums blocking the way.

At the end of the corridor, Rayman escapes out of the tree and arrives at a pipe of sorts. Here he releases a Teensie and ends the level.
In Phase 1, near the end of the level, there's a Yellow Lum on the side of the cliff. The last Purple Lum of the level has three yellow lums that you can swing and jump to get.

As Rayman walks out from the cave in Phase 2, he finds himself at a clearing. On the side of a cliff is a prison similar to Ly's from the Fairy's Glade. However, this time it holds a Moskito look-alike, Bzzit. Bzzit warns Rayman of an ambush, and soon Robo-Pirates parachute down to attack. Rayman fights them off, but is quickly met with a new challenge.

A Yellow Robo-Pirate rises from the ground and begins firing its nasty balls of fire at Rayman. This is the strongest Robo-Pirate Rayman has fought yet, but in the end he succeeds. Bzzit cheers for Rayman, and then tells him to meet him at the pier in the Minisaurus Plains. Rayman nods, and pushes onward.

In Revolution, it is impossible to acquire all of the bayou's Yellow Lums on the first visit. The cliff overlooking the demon tree holds a Dry Bulb. After completing the Pirate Mines, Rayman may use the Rain Dance to revitalize the bulb and access the otherwise inaccessible remaining Lums.
Rayman rushes across bridge after bridge. The music you here when you face Axle plays at you battle another Robo-Pirate for the exit out of the first level.

Accessing the Walk of Life
When you reach The Bayou in the Hall of Doors, you can take a turn left when you see a yellow portal. Here you can enter the Walk of Life .

Phase 2
Following more trials evading warships on rickety bridges, Rayman arrives at the next segment of the bayou with a piranha jumping up and down.

PlayStation 2 version

It was announced by Ubisoft at E3 2010, and is the first major Rayman game since the creation of the Rabbids. The game will feature two-player co-operative play, with the second player controlling Globox. The game is a prequel to the original Rayman game, and is set to be released in a series of episodes that will explore how ‘...this uncontrollable individual (Rayman) and his grotesque companion (Globox) become the heroes that we know...’ The game's trailer finally reveals Rayman's origins, which were hinted at in the Knowledge of the World in Rayman 2 eleven years before: ‘Conjured from the magnificent moonbeams of the second summer solstice, woven together by [the] nymphs, destined to preserve the equilibrium of the sacred universe: the one we call...

* This article is about the pirates from Rayman 2. For the pirates from Rayman, see Pirate (Picture City).

"Rayman, look what the Pirates have done to our world... A planet of anguish and pain, haunted by evil. A dark place, teeming with fierce monsters." - Ly the Fairy, Rayman 2

The Robo-Pirates (or Henchmen) are an army of robotic pirates that invaded Rayman's world in Rayman 2. They all willingly serve Admiral Razorbeard, but do seem to have their own personalities.
Appearance
The majority of the Henchmen are largely the same. Their head is like a metallic skull with an earring on one side, with a face like the front of a steam engine. Also, one eye is completely black, as if they have an eye patch. Their torso basically consists of a cube-like shape with a coloured vest on it. The vest is slightly torn at the bottom. They have two arms, both of which end in a cylinder-like structure. On one side, the cylinder is hollow - this is where they fire their bullets from. The other side has a large hook, which they often use for swiping at close range. Their two legs have striped pants that are similar to the vest in that they are torn at the bottom. Their feet are basically black shoes with gold-ish buckles on them.

Models
There are many different pirate models, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Basic Henchman
The basic Henchman are the standard model, that come in different colours and have different weapons, but all look largely the same. They sometimes appear in the level by parachuting or drilling up through the ground. More than often they are found sleeping on the job. The Henchman 800s are the most common of the Basic Henchman.

Green
These have a green vest with green and white striped pants. They have very little health and generally just stand still and slowly shoot, however they sometimes throw powder kegs. In the PlayStation version, however, they have a lot of life, making them difficult to kill, but only ever throw kegs.

Blue
They're the same as the Green Henchmen, except blue instead of green and has a little life. They appeared in Rayman 2 and Rayman DS at the Fairy Glade, the Sanctuary of Water and Ice or the Lost Island, and the Menhir Hills. The Blue Henchmen are the uncommon Henchman 800s. The Blue Henchmen never appeared in Rayman Revolution.

Purple
These are much like the Green Henchmen, except purple instead of green, and they have much more life, and have brass hooks. Their bullets are often larger, and they have a habit of firing multiple bullets in quick succession. They move around a bit, sometimes jumping to dodge Rayman's attacks. In the PlayStation version, their bullets are the same but are always fired in sets of three, in between running back and forth. They have more life in the PlayStation version, but not as much as the Green Henchmen. They're given a similar appearence to the Blue Henchmen.

Yellow/Orange
The Yellow Henchmen have much more life, but move very little. Instead of bullets, they launch streams of fire, which move very quickly, and also throw cannonballs which start a fire where they land which causes damage when Rayman walks on it. Yellow Henchmen do not appear in the PlayStation version, but are instead replaced with Orange Henchmen. The Orange Henchmen have more life, and move around a lot via their drills. They don't throw cannonballs, and instead of a fire stream, just shoot large fireballs.

Red
These Henchmen, also known as Red Rum, are the strongest of the standard Henchmen, and appear with red vests and red and yellow stripes on their pants. In the original Rayman 2, they are the strongest Henchmen, but vary in some ways. Some of them have more health then all other henchmen and fire large cannonballs, usually three at a time. Other times they shoot the normal size cannonballs and drill through the ground, hoping to hit Rayman. One interesting feature of these Pirates is that they can instantly kill Rayman if he steps on the place from which they drill upwards from underground (go to the External Links to see this). In Rayman Revolution, they fire missiles which can home in on Rayman, but these can be destroyed by Rayman's shots. Red Henchmen have lots of life. However, in the PlayStation version, their rank is inverted and they have very little life and fire only basic shots. Two Red Henchmen are used as the bodyguards in front of Razorbeard's cabin, even in the PlayStation version. Two of them (likely the same two) also carry Globox to his prison cell in the opening movie. Later on, one of the bodyguards puts his foot out to trip Razorbeard's lackey, indicating that they may have some kind of personality, or at least a sense of humour.

Henchman 1000
Main article: Henchman 1000<br>

An older version of the Henchman 800. These types of robo-pirates are similar to the newer ones, but with a retro design and a fake mustasche. They have a hand on their right arm instead of a hook, and they are wearing a paper hat. These pirates usually speak Spanish (when they talk). They have only been seen once, as an unlockable character in Rayman M. The Henchman 1000 main theme is country rock.

Zombie Henchmen
Main article: Zombie Henchman<br>

These are old pirates that have been wrecked and rusted, but still walk. Their vests are a pale, rotted yellow, and one of their feet are missing. In additino, their hook hangs limply off the arm and both eyes are black. As a result of their state, they don't move around very well, and walk in a zombie-like manner. Instead of shooting from their arm, the Zombie Henchmen breathes a green poisonous gas towards Rayman. Zombie Henchmen are very difficult to destroy, as when they appear to be dead, they get up again a few moments later. These are found in Rayman 2: Revolution.

Ninja Henchmen and Ninjaws
Main article: Ninja Pirate and Ninjaws<br>

The Ninja Pirates are very similar to the others, but have a few notable appearance traits and abilities that make them very different. Ninjaws, while identical to the others, is seemingly the elite of them, and at one point returns to Razorbeard's cabin claiming to have captured 5000 slaves. In the PlayStation version of Rayman 2, Rayman battles Ninjaws for the Second Mask. Ninja Henchmen are more or less completely black and look a little less square. Their heads appear very different. Instead of a skull, it appears as a tall cylinder topped with a red bandana and gold hook on the right arm. Ninja Henchmen have a lot of life, and have the ability to vanish and then reappear somewhere else in a cloud of dust. They either appear near Rayman and try to hook Rayman, or appear standing back more and try to shoot him. Sometimes they will teleport quickly to different places around Rayman while shooting, surrounding him with bullets. Their weakness is that their hooks are very heavy. If they miss, it gives Rayman an opportunity to attack. In Rayman 2: Revolution, two can be seen in Razorbeard's cabin. Later on, they defend the two generators that power the shield at the Pirate Factory, and once the generators are destroyed, the Ninja Henchmen are no longer seen next to Razorbeard.

Gorilla Pirate
Main article: Ape Pirate<br>

The Gorilla Pirates are so named because of their similarities to an ape or gorilla, in both appearance and behaviour. they are very bulky, and where a blue and white striped shirt. they can not be hurt by Rayman's attacks, so usually the idea is to lure them off a cliff or ledge, or to throw a plum at their head and use it as a platform.

Barrel Pirate
Main article: Barrel Pirate<br>

The Barrel Pirates consist of a large barrel with legs, a cannon on top, and a slit with eyes inside. Sometimes they are found disguising themselves, as the slit can be closed and the legs can be withdrawn. In this state, they just look like a barrel and a cannon. Their attacks differ from version to version. On the PlayStation version, they simply fire sets of three large balls of electricity. In Rayman 2: Revolution however, they fire bolts of lightning that can only be avoided by hiding behind something. In this version, they also launch cannonballs, similar to those used by the yellow henchmen, only it uses a poisonous gas instead of fire. One thing that is consistent in each version is their large amount of life.

Razorbeard's lackey
Main article: Admiral Razorbeard's lackey<br>

This is the pirate who carries out many of Razorbeard's orders. He is unarmed, although his arms are very similar to a typical Henchman's, except with ordinary hands. his body consists of two rough cubes, the lower one larger than the top. The lower one has the legs sticking out of it and a pair of green pants. His head is a basic cube with an opening mouth and a red bandana. Although he has no weapons, he still causes Rayman trouble. Carrying out Razorbeard's orders, he drives the Warships which pursue Rayman. He also controls Clark at one point via remote control, as well as a giant bird-like robot called the Robot Dinosaur in the same manner. Also, in Rayman Revolution, he controls a hemispherical vehicle called the Boss Biditank.

Pirate Vehicles
The Warships
Warships are flying Pirate ships that attack Rayman in the Bayou, the Canopy, and the Precipice (and the Echoing Caves in Revolution). They usually fire slow-moving homing bombs that move about like a helicopter, and can be easily destroyed by Rayman's attacks. They also fire cannonballs, but these are not usually aimed at Rayman, but instead at platforms to blow them away. They may also launch Walking Shells that run towards Rayman upon landing.

The Robot Dinosaur
The Robot Dinosaur is a giant bird-like robot controlled by Razorbeard's lackey. It is only ever named in the PlayStation version, but also appear in the others. The Grand Minimus tells Rayman that this Robotic titan was dropped on the Iron Mountains (also known as Gloomy Island) by the Pirates, to search for the fourth and final mask. It is often to be seen walking around and pecking at the ground like a chicken; it is possible that it is searching for the Fourth Mask in the soil. The Robot Dinosaur is notable for periodically jumping high, and upon landing, causing objects to bounce off the ground. Also, when Rayman is on the Walking Shell, it chases after him, and runs faster than the shell when going in a straight line, but lacks agility. The Robot Dinosaur is not destroyed, although in the PlayStation version it runs out of fuel.

The Boss Biditank
This is a tank-like vehicle that takes the shape of a hemisphere. It is driven by Razorbeard's lackey in the Pirate Factory in Rayman Revolution, and travels on wheels located on its underside. It fires the same type of propeller bombs as the Warships, as well as a machine gun-like weapon. Also, it can use an attack like that of the Barrel Pirates, at which point Rayman must hide behind something to avoid being damaged. It can only be damaged by activating a powerful gun and using it to fire at the tank.

Trivia

Description
Sssssam is a purple snake or serpent-like creature who dwells in the Marshes of Awakening, acting as a ferryman for the Glade's inhabitants. He has a disproportionately large head compared to his thin body. The body itself appears to be no longer than Rayman's height, however he is never seen in full; only his head, part of his neck and occasionally the tip of his tail are ever actually visible, as he always partially submerged in the water of the Marshes. As a result, it is impossible to gauge just how long he might be; he could be quite short or incredibly long.

Sssssam speaks with heavy, noticeable emphasis on the 's' sounds in a word, not unlike a stereotypical cartoon snake.

In Rayman 2
In Rayman 2 and its remakes, Sssssam is first found by Rayman in the Marshes of Awakening, imprisoned in a pirate cage. Upon being freed by Rayman, Sssssam stretches and agrees to take Rayman across the Marshes, as he had seen the Pirates take Globox in that direction. On the other side, Sssssam bids Rayman farewell and asks Rayman to make a point of visiting again. From this it would seem that he is very lonely, possibly having no friends within the Marshes.

In Rayman 3 (Gameboy Advance)
In the GBA version of Rayman 3, Sssssam is first found in the Swamps of Begoniax, this time uncaptured, where Rayman asks Ly the Fairy for directions to find Globox. He then allows Rayman to waterski through the swamps in a similar fashion to Rayman 2.

* This article is about the pirates from Rayman 2. For the pirates from Rayman, see Pirate (Picture City).

They have only been seen once, as an unlockable character in Rayman M. The Henchman 1000 main theme is country rock.

Rayman uses his Funkyboard to skate along the platforms whilst Globox hangs upside-down from a helicoper piloted by a Teensie, which can be seen if Rayman falls off a platform. It grabs him, and places him on a checkpoint that Rayman has passed. The Teensie Highway is filled with many colours and illusions to distract the player. The illusions can be swirling patterns, streams of lines racing past ect.
It is also filled with funky music who Globox enjoys as he says at the beggining of the Clearleaf Forest. It is lastly filled with many Jewels to boost the players score.
Razoff's mansion is located in the Bog of Murk. It is very large and classical mansion with many statues inside including a statue of Sssssam, piranhas and a statue of Razoff riding a Goaty (a scrapped character from the game). There are also several creatures to be found chained-up in his mansion; if Rayman frees these creatures they give him Red Lums before flying away. Globox was also transported to the basement of Razoff's mansion by accident, when he was seperayed from Rayman inthe Teensie Highway. Also in the basement are a large ball and chain which Razoff attempts to kill Rayman with, a magic mirror similar to the one found in Begoniax's house, and a large creature with a hand for a head which Razoff was apparently keeping imprisoned, and who helps Rayman out in the battle by giving him Heavy Metal Fist power-ups and placing him back on the stage when he falls down.
This world is a dark and murky marshland of piranha-infested swamps, and is the home of two anti-social characters - Begoniax the witch, and Count Razoff - who soon see Rayman as an enemy. It is also home to mud enemies who throw rocks at both Rayman and the Hoodlums. Early in the first level, large flying creatures with hands for heads can be seen in the distant sky, one of which later helps Rayman out in the basement of Razoff's mansion.

Globox is a major character in the Rayman series, who makes his début in Rayman 2: The Great Escape, followed with major roles in Rayman M, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc and many handheld games. He is Rayman's best friend and has been since the events of Rayman Origins, though how they exactly came to meet is currently unknown.

Character description
Appearance
Globox resembles a large, fat amphibian, and is blue-green in colour with a pale yellow belly and hands. While the rest of his body is fat and heavy, he has long thin arms, and his webbed feet and small eyes float separately from his body. He is noticeably taller than most of the inhabitants of the Glade, with the exception of such characters as Ly the Fairy and Clark the Giant. Globox has an extremely large mouth with a long purple tongue, and he often uses it to store things such as Silver Lums, and, accidentally, André. His children have the same ability, as was shown when, late in the events of Rayman 2, one of his sons swallowed the fourth Mask of Polokus when he found it in the Pirate Mines and gave it to Rayman once the latter had freed him and his siblings from the lackey's Robot Dinosaur.

Abilities
Physically, Globox is quite strong, and provided that he has the confidence to (under the influence of plum juice in Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge), he can inflict a strong blow on enemies, namely Hoodlums. Unfortunately, he is allergic to plum juice, and when André was inside his stomach, he would force Globox to drink some and then suffer from its effects, which includes getting drunk and burping out giant, bouncy bubbles. At an early point in Rayman 3, he realises that he can swim, even swimming up an entire waterfall. Plum Juice can also give him an ability to fly, or float, into the air, allowing him to avoid such terrains in Rayman 3 that would prove difficult. This was most likely to have been inspired by this hovering technique in Rayman M. All versions of Rayman M suggest that he can run as fast as the others, despite his weight, but elsewhere he tends to walk slowly in a nervous state.

Globox has the power to form rainclouds, albeit small ones that draw enough rain to grow a plant quickly, put out fires and to rust a Robo-Pirate as self defence. Most other species would have to use a Rain Mask, which one of his children gives to Rayman at a later point in Rayman Revolution.

Personality
Globox is generally a warm and friendly character and a proud father of more than 650 children, though simple and very shy. Having been captured at least once in Rayman 2, he has grown an irrational fear of the Robo-Pirates, and often when he senses that they are near, he will run away and hide (notable in the Canopy), until he is sure that Rayman had destroyed them all. Similarly, he displays this fear in Rayman 3, this time of the Hoodlums and their attacks, unless he's under the influence of plum juice.

In Rayman 2, Globox spoke in broken English in a deep voice, but by the time Rayman 3 set in, his voice had become much higher, and spoke in much better English.

Biography
Globox and his family were created by Polokus as part of the non-magical People, as a result of the spirit's sense of humour. He was originally called "Globber", a name that he has now passed down to one of his children in order to rename himself. Together with his mate, Uglette, he is the proud father of 650 small children at the last count. In Rayman Revolution, it was revealed that he and his family live in a tree house near the Canopy, though in the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2, they live in a secret location hidden in the Woods of Light, called the Globox Village.

Videogame appearances
Rayman 2: The Great Escape
Globox's story begins even before the game starts, where he is by Rayman's side among an ambush in the Great Forest. There, he doesn't put up much of a fight, but he helps by rusting up a few Pirates with his Rain Dance. Rayman praises his efforts, but gets distracted by Ly's telepathy, and gets captured, leaving Globox with no choice but to be sent by his limbless friend to find Ly in person and ask for further instructions. Ly gives him a Silver Lum, and then gets captured himself.

On the Buccaneer, Globox is thrown into the same cell as Rayman, and give him the Silver Lum, which allows him to shoot with his fist. Rayman tries it on a metal grate covering an air vent, and together, he and Globox goes down the chute. However, Globox knocks Rayman off the edge, and they become separated. From this point until he meets Sssssam in the Marshes of Awakening, who tells him that Globox has been taken beyond the Marshes, the limbless hero doesn't know where his amphibious friend had got to.

Later on, Globox is discovered and is held prisoner in the Canopy, and once Rayman frees him, he joins him throughout the level, putting his Rain Dance into good use again by growing plants, putting out fires and short-circuiting electric bars. However, upon the sight of a warship, Globox runs back the way they came into a cave. Rayman goes back to reassure his friend that there's nothing to be scared of, and then, Globox remembers to give him a Silver Lum which upgrades the power of his Magic Fist. At the end of the level, Globox insists that he'll find his own way home, so he lets his limbless friend leave to carry on with his journey.

Unfortunately, Globox gets captured again at the near end of the game, this time used as live bait to lure Rayman to the Crow's Nest. When he gets here, Razorbeard shoots him, but misses and hits the pole that hangs Globox upside down, but he insists that Rayman should carry on fighting the Grolgoth rather than saving him. It is unknown how he got down after the Crow's Nest fell apart, but whatever happens, he ends up back on the ground safely by the time he and his friends mourn their hero after the Buccaneer explodes, until Rayman turns up alive.

Rayman Revolution
Though Globox's primary roles in Revolution were similar to those in Rayman 2, a few new elements were added. In Revolution, Globox does not grant Rayman the ability to shoot his Magic Fist, but instead simply allows Rayman to punch. Globox's house, children, and relation with Uglette are depicted in a larger scale; one of his daughters is an important character later in the game, Uglette is constantly seen worrying about Globox, and his cliffside house's acres of land are the setting for the middle third of the game. Globox joins Rayman on a few occasions in a fashion similar to Clark or Globox's role in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. Globox must be taken past Whale Bay to use his Rain Dance so as to enable entry to the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire.

Rayman M/Arena/Rush
In Rayman M, Rayman Arena and Rayman Rush, Globox is one of the initially available characters.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
Globox remains physically similar to his original appearance, though had become a comedic sidekick for this next appearance. Globox plays a major plot role, having accidentally swallowed André and having to find a doctor who would find a way to remove André from Globox during the first half of the game. During this time, Globox is forced by André to drink Plum Juice, despite his allergies, and during a somewhat drunken state he gains special abilities for short periods of time that are needed to progress Rayman through the game or move Globox forward through the level (by floating). Through the second half he plays a lesser role, though tends to follow Rayman on their journey, ocasionally bringing up the odd surprise. He is notably voice acted by actor John Leguizamo.

Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
In Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge, Globox follows Rayman through much of the game, similar to Rayman 3. Globox is also a playable character in some levels. Often times there will be a puzzle-like sequence of events that requires the player to use both Rayman and Globox to move forward in the level. As Andre has been consumed once more, Globox can use the effects of plum juice to do certain things to move on in the stage, such as breaking metal bars.

Rayman Origins
Globox is set to appear in the upcoming Rayman Origins. He will be a playable character in the game's co-op mode. The game will show Rayman's first meeting with Globox, prior to the events of Rayman 1. It is said that Globox is Rayman's double, his blood brother, his id’. The game will show how the ‘uncontrollable individual’ Rayman and the ‘grotesque creature’ Globox became the heroes we know today.

Trivia
*Globox is said to belong to a species called ‘glutes’, but this has not been officially confirmed. It is possible that the term refers to a different species of creatures in the Glade of Dreams.
*Although not seen in the game, he has a default score of 12000 in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.
*Globox was going to make an appearance in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, as a character Rayman was going to rescue from the Rabbids, but this idea was scrapped.
The Photographer is a character from the original Rayman game. He serves as a checkpoint in the game, where Rayman can come back to where he was last photographed should he lose a life. His face is never seen apart from a large eye, though he has blonde hair, and wears a chequered trench coat and blue shoes. In Rayman 2, he was replaced by the Green Lum checkpoints. When Rayman has to take his picture with the Photographer, it looks like he is very muscular, holding a surfboard and a sea shell. In Rayman Junior, he has to look like he is wearing a cloak like Mr Dark's whilst holding letters and numbers, while the Photographer wears a brown coat instead of a green one with red dots on it.

A homage to the Photographer appears in the Rayman Origins trailer, with what appears to be a Teensie taking a photo of both Rayman and Globox, with Globox appearing skinny, loincloth-clad and wielding an axe, and Rayman in a woman's body clad in armour and wielding a sword. It is possible that this will be the actual checkpoint method in Rayman Origins.
In Rayman Junior, he has to look like he is wearing a cloak like Mr Dark's whilst holding letters and numbers, while the Photographer wears a brown coat instead of a green one with red dots on it.
Livingstones, also known as Explorators, are the most common enemies found in the Dream Forest, the first world in the original Rayman game. They also appear in the Forest world in the Game Boy Advance adaptation of Rayman Raving Rabbids. There, they are capable of throwing their hats as an attack.

A Livingstone also appears briefly in the trailer for Rayman Origins, where Rayman blows its clothes off with his Helicopter. This indicates that they may be enemies in the final game, presumably playing roles similar to there own in Rayman 1.

They are averagely-resistant enemies who freely wander on their platform, turning backwards when they face an obstacle. Rayman must simply avoid contact with them. If not eliminated in one hit, they start running until they fall into water.

Besides Rayman's fists, there are two other ways to get rid of them. The first one consists in making a face, which will make them run as if they got hit, and the second one in throwing a plum at their face. Then, they'll keep walking as usual but it will be possible to jump unto them and reach higher places.

"It does everything, except the dishes." - The General on the Grolgoth

The Grolgoth is a giant robot which Admiral Razorbeard uses in an attempt to put a stop to Rayman at the Crow's Nest. Piloted by Razorbeard, it is also the final boss of Rayman 2 and the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3.

Description
At a very late point in Rayman 2, Razorbeard is visited by the General, a character who first appeared in Tonic Trouble, another Ubisoft game which Michel Ancel worked on. The General advertises the Grolgoth and its functions to Razorbeard. The Admiral pictures the contraption crushing and shaking Rayman to death with its deadly grasp, and decides to buy it, giving the General a chest of gold as payment. He then prepares for his attack while Rayman is going through the Prison Ship.

The Grolgoth is a large machine comprising of a large, golden-coloured bulk, with articulable arms and legs, similar to those of the Robo-Pirates. The Grolgoth's hemisphere-shaped head can extend from the body, revealing the entrance to this robotic marvel. Razorbeard jumps in and slides down a rope. At the bottom is located a cockpit, from which Razorbeard controls the machine. For its right hand, it has a cannon, which fires helicopter bombs that Rayman will have to shoot back at the Grolgoth in order to hurt it. The other hand has a hook, which sees no use in the battle. The Grolgoth can also shoot large energy balls from the soles of its feet. According to the General, “It does everything, except the dishes”.

Final battle, first phase
Razorbeard places the Grolgoth at the top of the Buccaneer's mast. He also places Globox, dangling over the edge of the ship from a large elevator's antenna. Before Razorbeard shoots Globox to his doom, Rayman appears through the elevator, shouting that Razorbeard shall leave Globox alone. Razorbeard takes advantage of Rayman's position and shoots down the elevator. As Razorbeard believes himself victorious, Rayman pulls himself back up on the platform. After checking to ensure that Globox is safe, the fight begins.

The Grolgoth is immune to Rayman's shots, and starts with heavy attacks such as shooting helicopter bombs, fast energy balls and trying to jump on Rayman to squash him. Rayman will have to shoot the helicopter bombs back at the Grolgoth, but straight on, otherwise the Grolgoth will evade them.

Final battle, second phase
After Rayman has hit the Grolgoth three times, a cutscene starts in which Razorbeard make the Grolgoth jump on Rayman and squash him, but the jump cuts short, causing the Grolgoth to break the platform on which the fight is occurring. Both Rayman and the Grolgoth fall down into the heart of the Buccaneer, a chamber filled with boiling lava.

Rayman is saved by Ly, who sends a Silver Lum-like ball of energy to catch Rayman in mid-air, and lower him safely to a small pipe sticking out of the lava, on which a friendly Flying Shell has been stationed. Ly's face appears in Rayman's mind, and she informs him that Polokus has eliminated all of the Robo-Pirates on the land and that the slaves have escaped (with the help of Rayman, seen in the PS1, PS2 and Dreamcast version of the game). Rayman sees that Razorbeard has survived the fall as well, with the Grolgoth clinging between two metal pipes going up the chamber's walls.

Rayman flies on the Flying Shell, both having to find ammo hidden inside the chamber and avoid the homing energy-balls that Razorbeard shoots after him. Rayman must use the ammo to shoot energy-balls at the Grolgoth's hands, causing it to slip and fall into the lava. When the Grolgoth is struggling to get out of the lava, it loses some health; Rayman can damage it more by shooting at it while it's still in the lava. Should Rayman get hit just once during this phase of the battle, his Flying Shell will explode and the battle begins as new from the beginning of Phase 2. When Razorbeard reaches 20% health, he will climb up to the top of the chamber and temporarily raise the level of lava. This can happen several times. When Razorbeard's health reaches 0%, the Grolgoth stalls and falls into the lava. Razorbeard crawls out, dragging an escape pod with him. Before abandoning the Buccaneer, he says: "I've saved one last little surprise for you", and presses a button on a remote-control device, triggering the Grolgoth's self-destruct mechanism. Razorbeard in his escape pod flies straight up the mast of the ship, through the Crow's Nest and to safety. The Grolgoth detonates, blowing the Buccaneer to pieces and apparently killing Rayman. Razorbeard continues flying upwards until he reaches space.

Final battle, second phase (PlayStation version)
In the PS1 version of Rayman 2, the second phase is extremely different from the other versions. After the cutscene where Rayman and Razorbeard fall down into the Buccaneer and Rayman is saved by Ly, Rayman will have to fly the Flying Shell through a long horizontal pipe, with controls limited to 2D movement. The Grolgoth will be flying backwards, facing Rayman. Rayman can shoot normally from the Flying Shell, but his shots only do not hurt the Grolgoth. Razorbeard will shoot slow-moving energy-balls that Rayman must avoid, and shoot helicopter bombs which can be fired back at him. Should Rayman get hit, he will not die, but lose health as normal. Every time Razorbeard has fired six helicopter bombs, he will cast a number of spiked mines, which fill increasing amounts of the screen as the battle wears on. Rayman must find a spot to pass in between the mines without getting hit. After the Grolgoth has reached 30% health, it begins to shoot powerful homing missiles, which fly towards Rayman. Rayman must dodge them, after which they will circle around and appear behind him, still homing; Rayman can then position himself (and the homing missile) towards Razorbeard, so that the homing missile will hit the Grolgoth. Razorbeard can dodge the missiles if they are not aimed correctly. When Razorbeard's health reaches 0, the final cutscene begins as normal.

Trivia
In the PC and PS2 versions of Rayman 2, there is a minor continuity error regarding Phase 2: the location is too small. In the cutscene, the place was gigantic, and the Grolgoth was very big as well. Both Rayman and the Flying Shell were small enough to stand on the sticking-out pipe. After the beginning of the battle, this same pipe is even smaller (in width) than Rayman, and the Grolgoth is suddenly half the size as in the cutscene. In the cutscene that plays after defeating the Grolgoth, everything is back to its original size again.

In Rayman Revolution, there is another error: in the cutscenes, the Flying Shell is a grey colour and looks like the Flying Shell from the Prison Ship level. During the battle, it is yellow, like the common Walking Shells.
