Weblums is a minigame which was created as an exclusive bonus for the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. It was later included in Rayman Revolution, under the name Trampoline Challenge.

In the minigame, Rayman finds himself in a large, spooky, dark tower, filled with bouncy cobwebs, chains and wooden beams. Rayman must use the bouncy cobwebs to move around the tower and collect the tower's 20 Red Lums before the time runs out.

In the Dreamcast version, Weblums is the second of three minigames accessible from the Globox Village, the first being Pyralums and the third being Globox Disc. In order to open the portal leading to Pyralums, Rayman must collect four of the six Glob Crystals hidden throughout the game.

In Revolution, the Trampoline Challenge is the seventh of Ly the Fairy's eight minigames. It becomes accessible to Rayman when he has freed 70 of the game's 80 Familiar Spirits.

Roller Coaster Challenge is a mini-game level from Rayman Revolution. In Rayman 2, it formed the first segment of the Top of the World.

Located deep in the swamps is a special chair—anybody who rides it finds themselves on a wild rollarcoaster ride through many dangerous obstacles. Unlike Rayman 2, in which the ride begins in a Canopy-like setting then passes through a forest and some pipes, the ride in Rayman Revolution begins in a swamp, passes through ravines, then a seaside cliff covered in barren rock and dead trees, a dark forest, afterwards arrives at some pipelines. In both versions, many pirate fortresses stand in the chair's way.

Before Rayman may request that Ly the Fairy takes him to the Roller Coaster Challenge, Rayman must have collected ten Familiar Spirits. Afterwards, the Roller Coaster Challenge will always be accessible from Ly's House, Ly's Stele, and Ly's Cave.

After Ly transports him to the swamp, Rayman must leap onto a speeding chair. The chair sends him on a wild ride through forests, mountains, and other scenic locations. The player must tilt the control stick left or right to spin a speeding chair either clockwise or counter-clockwise so as to avoid incoming obstacles. The Roller Coaster Challenge is Rayman's first opportunity to increase his HP bar in Rayman Revolution. However, to do so, each of the twenty Red Lums must be collected—if Rayman misses even one, completing the ride will not count and he must start over again without any Red Lums.

There are no enemies on the ride, apart from a machine above a door that fires large bullets at Rayman. The machine does not have to be destroyed to complete the mini-game, but Rayman can shoot it with his magic fist.
The Iron Mountains (also known as the Gloomy Island) is a location in Rayman 2: The Great Escape and its remakes. It is where the fourth and final Mask of Polokus is found, though it is not necessarily a sanctuary.

Original version
This level is set high up in the mountainous regions of the Glade of Dreams, where a number of pirate strongholds are built. Deep in the canyons nearby are mines in which a large number of baby Globoxes are held captive. Many Robo-Pirates patrol the area.

Phase 1 – The Gloomy Island
Rayman is outside a metalworks building with a generator room inside, and he has to shoot two switches to deactivate an electric field and go down the middle of a rotating machine and into a pipe that leads to a grassy area. Going though another tunnel past a swampy lake, there is another pirate stronghold which Rayman has to jump from the top and glide down a rapid river. At the edge is a hot air balloon which Rayman hops in and rides.

Phase 2 – The Reformatory for Disturbing Children
He then lands in a field with yet another stronghold, which is this time guarded by the invincible giant Robot Dinosaur, despatched by the Robo-Pirates to find the fourth Mask before Rayman does. The robot is so heavy, every time it jumps it sends objects bouncing up into the air. Rayman can make use of these objects to infiltrate the stronghold (the Reformatory for Disturbing Children), where a few baby Globoxes are being held captive. Rayman soon finds a walking shell and has to ride about the outside of the Reformatory to collect some Yellow Lums and find two switches (three switches in the PlayStation version) to release the babies.

Phase 3 – The Pirate Mines
Deep in a canyon, Rayman has to cross a polluted pond, and he'll eventually meet Uglette, Globox's wife, who is upset by the fact that more of her babies are missing and held in the mines. The player then takes control of a pirate Warship and has to manoeuver it through the canyons and find the four mines, collecting many baby Globoxes from each one. When all of mines are visited, Rayman has to bring the Warship back to Uglette to reunite her with her babies. One of them withdraws the fourth Mask from its mouth and tells Rayman that he found it in the Mines. He then gives the Mask to Rayman, who is transported to Polokus.

Trivia
*During the shell ride, a glitch allows Rayman to jump outside the Reformatory for Disturbing Children without activating the switches and saving the babies.
Dreamcast version
This level is nearly identical to the original version, with the following differences:

*At the neat end of Phase 1, before the hot air balloon, a Glob Crystal is found – this is the last of the six to collect.
*Piranhas added: 2 in the bridge in the beginning of the level and one in the swampy area where the 2 pirates are fought.
*Graphical changes in the generator room with the two swiches, some structures changed, the pool of polluted water and celing is replaced with a floor and caged celing with a slow, circular, ominous red laser, same thing is given with the middle stalactite-like structure. The outside of the building is also foggier and the polluted water is changed to plain green. Also some graphical changes in the area where is a fortress and near the river, like adding fences, platforms and wooden floor.
PlayStation version
In this version, the level is called The Gloomy Island, and only the area in which Rayman has to flick the switches onboard the walking shell to free the baby Globoxes is used.
In the beginning Rayman sees Uglette, and she tells him that her babyies were taken to the pirate stronghold. Rayman has to locate it and rescue them.

Phase 1 of the level is used in part, but is heavily edited in some areas. As said above, Uglette informs Rayman of the children's capture at the very start of the level, not towards the end. This gives Rayman more purpose to being here in this version, rather than seemingly wandering randomly as in other versions.

There is a bizarre inconsistancy here not present in other versions due to the Uglette cutscene occuring at the very start of the level. When the player enters the level from the Hall of Doors, the game will load, then jump straight into the cutscene with Uglette, which shows Rayman already in the level, comforting Uglette. However, after the cutscene, Rayman emerges from the Spiral Door as usual, and lands next to a weeping Uglette.
PlayStation 2 version
This level remains the same, but with the following exceptions:

* The phase in which Rayman comandeers a Warship to rescue the baby Globoxes has been omitted from this level, and is used as its own level called The Pirate Mines. Instead of the fourth Mask, a baby rewards Rayman with the Rain Mask instead.
* Because of this, there is a new guardian called Grolem 13, who guards the fourth Mask. He is fought in a new phase added to the end of the Iron Mountains, which takes the place of the Pirate Mines phase.

The Tomb of the Ancients is a location in the Glade of Dreams and a level in Rayman 2: The Great Escape.

The Tomb of the Ancients is an eerie, haunted location which appears as a mixture of graveyard, cave, swamp and sewer. The green, poisonous water which flows throughout the Tomb is filled with piranhas and must be navigated by crossing floating wooden barrels. The walls and ground are made of dark, greenish rock, decorated by engravings of skulls and coffins and illuminated by wall-hung torches. The sky is dark and cloudy, lit only by one of the world's two moons. The Tomb is infested by creatures such as piranhas, spiders, and many zombie chickens, one of which represents the level as a hologram in the Hall of Doors.

In Rayman 2, the Pirates use this place as one of their strongholds, and many signs of their occupation, such as their haphazard wooden constructions, are visible.

In the Sega Dreamcast and the Nintendo 3DS version of the game, a secret area can be found in the last phase of the Tomb of the Ancients. For more information, see Tomb of the Ancients secret.

Original version
Phase 1
As the player enters the level for the first time, a short cutscene is played. Razorbeard's lackey tells Admiral Razorbeard that Rayman has retrieved the Third Mask. A furious Razorbeard warns him to make sure Rayman doesn't get the next one. Rayman emerges from a Magic Spiral Door onto some stairs. Once he climbs down he encounters a Robo-Pirate sign saying ‘Clark was captured here before being brought to the Technical Check-up.’ After hitting a switch that activates a door, Rayman is chased by a spider through a tomb until he reaches a few platforms sticking out of the water. Climbing on to these platforms, he reaches a passage with three possible routes. The left one leads to another platforming section where he has to avoid a Henchman 800, a spider and a disembodied arm similar to the one encountered in The Cave of Bad Dreams. The right one is a graveyard with more disembodied arms and henchmen. Both of these contain switches that must be activated in order to progress further. Once the switches have been activated, Rayman must return to the passage and go forward, jumping across platforms and avoiding piranhas. Once he reaches the uppermost platform he has to jump down a hole to get to the next stage.

The last platforming part features a secret passage: Rayman can jump to the left instead of down the hole and float using his helicopter. This way he finds a secret passage where he will find the 1000th Yellow Lum necessary to obtain 100% completion of the game – if this Lum remains uncollected, the game will be 99.9% complete, and even after it is collected the game screen will only display a total of 999 Yellow Lums.

How to get secret 1000th Lum (at 4:00).

Phase 2
Rayman finds himself in front of a gate. After hitting the nearby cogs enough times to fully open it, Rayman jumps down onto a floating barrel. For the rest of the phase, he rides floating barrels and maneuvers up spiderwebs to reach the next barrel, avoiding electrical fences, zombie chickens and Henchmen 800s.

Phase 3
After executing another platform jump, Rayman once again rides a floating barrel. At the end of this phase, he must avoid a pirate throwing kegs at him from higher ground and then climb up into the pirate stronghold and defeat him. Once the pirate is defeated, a Purple Lum will appear. Rayman must use this Purple Lum to reach a net and climb up towards the next phase.

Phase 4
The final phase begins with Rayman running across a narrow stretch of ground with polluted water towards the left, before reaching a door with a small pirate sign saying ‘Technical Check-up’ adjacent to it. (It is at this point that the entrance to the Tomb of the Ancients secret is hidden.) After opening the Technical Check-Up door, a small cutscene plays where Rayman and Clark are initially overjoyed to find each other before it is revealed that Clark has had a controlling device implanted on his back and is being controlled by Razorbeard's lackey from another room.

A boss fight ensues in which Rayman must activate a laser by hitting three switches, then tricking Clark into tripping over it in order to attack the controlling device. Once the controlling device is destroyed, Clark is restored to his normal self. Rayman climbs onto Clark's back to destroy the final cage, freeing a Teensie who then opens a Magic Spiral Door. Rayman is then transported back to the Hall of Doors.
The first phase of the original is completely removed. The rest of the level is also edited in the form of were the start and end of each phase occurs. Alternate passages and forks has been omitted, making the level much more linear and straightforward. Overall, however, the general layout is similar, and the level still concludes with the battle against the hypnotised Clark.
In this version, Rayman discovers a treasure chest in the Technical Check-up after rescuing Clark, and upon opening it finds the Lums Radar, a magnet-like device that points the way to nearby Yellow Lums. He finds the 1000th Yellow Lum in the same chest. If Rayman destroys any Robo-Pirates and then revisits the level, they are be replaced by Zombie Pirates.

Whilst no real reason was ever given as to why Rayman went to the Tomb in the other versions of the game, he is specifically instructed to go here to rescue Clark in this version. In the other versions, Rayman appears to stumble across Clark solely by chance, and was simply passing through.

The Sanctuary of Rock and Lava is a level in Rayman 2: The Great Escape. It is the last of the sanctuaries to bear one of the Four Masks of Polokus, which is actually beneath the sanctuary, and is the second one to be filled with lava. In Rayman Revolution it's called Beneath the Lava Sanctuary or Beneath the Sanctuary of Lava. It also features a new mini-boss called Chenille, a larger, reddish version of the shadow creatures.

This sanctuary is located deep in the marshlands, and inside the temple are steams of lava and thickets of nettles. Rayman can avoid these by standing on floating nenuphars which carry him though the nettle pits, but eventually either wither away or get burnt.

The level continues as a separate level set beneath the sanctuary, where the Lava mask is really hidden.
Phase 1
The level begins in a swamp. An entrance to the Walk of Power can be found nearby to the left. Rayman soon passes through the swamp and finds himself inside the Sanctuary itself. Inside he finds a nenuphar which takes him to the lower floor, and he must break several obstacle walls along the way. Once there, he has to jump across some collapsing pillars and hit on a switch to get through the door.

Phase 2
Once through the door, Rayman finds himself in a room with a rotating stone structure floating above a pool of lava. Once he climbs it and makes his way to the next room, he must hit a switch in a room full of attacking caterpillars, and quickly jump the door temporarily opened by the switch. Rayman must them make his way through a lava-filled passage where deadly shifting walls threaten to push him off their platforms. At the end, a cage containing a Teensie can be found. Once freed, the Teensie creates a Door to take Rayman back to the Hall.
Original version
The level begins with a cinematic involving a conversation between Admiral Razorbeard and his lackey. The lackey informs Razorbeard that Rayman has arrived at the swamp. Admiral Razorbeard chomps down on a Yellow Lum lowering the Yellow Lum maximum to 999. He then orders Rayman to be stopped. The scene ends with warships dropping down from the Buccaneer.

Rayman arrives at the bayou. As he enters, a Warship descends from the sky and prepares to bombard Rayman. Rayman, unable to swim through the green swampy waters, hops aboard a barrel floating in the water. The barrel begins to float down the river at the same time that the warship begins releasing helicopter bombs.

Shooting the bombs to avoid their explosions, Rayman arrives at a small bit of bare land. To the left is an old branch with a cage, collecting the two Red Lums inside. From here he hops aboard another barrel, and floats down more of the river until he reaches the bottom of a canyon. The warship is unable to reach him here and leaves. When Rayman goes to the top of the canyon, he sees a switch, and hits it. Rayman hops on the bridges and he goes into a cave. There a Robo-Pirate sleeps.

After doing battle with a Robo-Pirate, Rayman finds himself swinging onto another barrel via Purple Lum. However, the waterfall he begins floating towards is haunted by Zombie Chickens, which rise from the murk and attack. Beyond the phantoms, Rayman leaps onto a log and oversees another warship flying above the bayou.

Rayman flutters down to a wooden bridge, but the warship immediately fires a cannonball. Rayman dodges the cannonball quickly, but the bridge plummets into the water. Rayman rushes across bridge after bridge, and finally delves into a small cave.

Accessing the Walk of Life
Optionally in Phase 1, Rayman can choose to turn left and find the entrance to the Walk of Life, which is a portal that is surrounded by a circle of pillars with Ly the Fairy's face carved on each. When Rayman goes near this, an image of Ly will appear in the middle, and grant access to the Walk, depending on whether enough Yellow Lums are gathered. The Walk can then be accessed through the Hall of Doors.

Phase 2
Following more trials evading warships on rickety bridges, Rayman arrives at the next segment of the bayou. Rayman must scale the sides of giant trees while dodging kegs being rolled into the river. At the end of the trail is a great cliff towering over the swamp. In the distance stands a demonic tree with fiery eyes and a grand mouth. By pressing a switch, a bridge extends allowing Rayman the distance he needs to reach a Purple Lum.

The Lum sends him swinging into the tree's mouth, only to lead to an encounter with the invincible Ape Pirate. Rayman must either evade the Ape Pirate or send it too its doom, but either way he arrives at a booby trap-filled corridor. By pressing a time switch, Rayman is able to deactivate the laser-barred exit and evade the pendulums blocking the way.

At the end of the corridor, Rayman escapes out of the tree and arrives at a pipe of sorts. Here he releases a Teensie and ends the level.
PlayStation 2 version
In Phase 1, near the end of the level, there is a Yellow Lum on the side of the cliff. The last Purple Lum of the level has three yellow lums that you can swing and jump to get.

As Rayman walks out from the cave in Phase 2, he finds himself at a clearing. On the side of a cliff is a prison similar to Ly's from the Fairy's Glade. However, this time it holds a Moskito look-alike, Bzzit. Bzzit warns Rayman of an ambush, and soon Robo-Pirates parachute down to attack. Rayman fights them off, but is quickly met with a new challenge.

A Yellow Robo-Pirate rises from the ground and begins firing its energy projectiles at Rayman. This is the strongest Robo-Pirate Rayman has fought so far in the game. Once he defeats it, Bzzit cheers for him, then tells him to meet him at the Pier in the Minisaurus Plains. Rayman nods, and pushes onwards.

In Revolution, it is impossible to acquire all of the Bayou's Yellow Lums on the first visit. The cliff overlooking the demon tree holds a dry plant bulb. After completing the Pirate Mines, Rayman may use the Rain Dance to revitalise the bulb so that it grows into a large plant, which can be used as a platform to access the remaining Yellow Lums, which are otherwise inaccessible.
