The Robo-Pirates (or Henchmen) are an army of robotic pirates that invaded Rayman's world in Rayman 2. They all willingly serve Admiral Razorbeard, but do seem to have their own personalities.
Appearance
The majority of the Henchmen are largely the same. Their head is like a metallic skull with an earring on one side. Also, one eye is completely black, as if they have an eye patch. Their torso basically consists of a cube-like shape with a coloured vest on it. The vest is slightly torn at the bottom. They have two arms, both of which end in a cylinder-like structure. On one side, the cylinder is hollow - this is where they fire their bullets from. The other side has a large hook, which they often use for swiping at close range. Their two legs have striped pants that are similar to the vest in that they are torn at the bottom. Their feet are basically black shoes with gold-ish buckles on them.

Models
There are many different pirate models, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Basic Henchman
The basic Henchman are the standard model, that come in different colours and have different weapons, but all look largely the same. They sometimes appear in the level by parachuting or drilling up through the ground. More than often they are found sleeping on the job.

Green
These have a green vest with green and white striped pants. They have very little health and generally just stand still and slowly shoot, however they sometimes throw powder kegs. In the PlayStation version, however, they have a lot of life, making them difficult to kill, but only ever throw kegs.

Purple
These are much like the Green Henchmen, except purple instead of green, and they have much more life. Their bullets are often larger, and they have a habit of firing multiple bullets in quick succession. They move around a bit, sometimes jumping to dodge Rayman's attacks. In the PlayStation version, their bullets are the same but are always fired in sets of three, in between running back and forth. They have more life in the PlayStation version, but not as much as the Green Henchmen.

Yellow
The Yellow Henchmen have much more life, but move very little. Instead of bullets, they launch streams of fire, which move very quickly, and also throw cannonballs which start a fire where they land which causes damage when Rayman walks on it. Yellow Henchmen do not appear in the PlayStation version, but are instead replaced with Orange Henchmen. The Orange Henchmen have more life, and move around a lot via their drills. They don't throw cannonballs, and instead of a fire stream, just shoot large fireballs.

Red
These are the strongest of the standard Henchmen, and appear with red vests and red and yellow stripes on their pants. They fire missiles which can home in on Rayman, but can be destroyed by Rayman's attacks. Red Henchmen have lots of life. However, in the PlayStation version, their rank is inverted and they have very little life and fire only basic shots. Two Red Henchmen are used as the bodyguards in front of Razorbeard's cabin, even in the PlayStation version. Two of them (likely the same two) also carry Globox to his prison cell in the opening movie. Later on, one of the bodyguards puts his foot out to trip Razorbeard's Lackey, proving that they might have a personality.

Zombie Henchmen
These are old pirates that have been wrecked and rusted, but still walk. Their vests are a pale, rotted yellow, and one of their feet are missing. In additino, their hook hangs limply off the arm and both eyes are black. As a result of their state, they don't move around very well, and walk in a zombie-like manner. Instead of shooting from their arm, the Zombie Henchmen breathes a green poisonous gas towards Rayman. Zombie Henchmen are very difficult to destroy, as when they appear to be dead, they get up again a few moments later. These are found in Rayman 2: Revolution.

Ninjaws and the Ninja Henchmen
The Ninja Pirates are very similar to the others, but have a few notable appearance traits and abilities that make them very different. Ninjaws is seemingly the elite of them, who at one point returns to Razorbeard's cabin claiming to have captured 5000 slaves. They are more or less completely black and look a little less square. Their heads appear very different. Instead of a skull, it appears as a tall cylinder topped with a red bandanna. Ninja Henchmen have a lot of life, and have the ability to vanish and then reappear somewhere else in a cloud of dust. They either appear near Rayman and try to hook Rayman, or appear standing back more and try to shoot him. Sometimes they will teleport quickly to different places around Rayman while shooting, surrounding him with bullets. Their weakness is that their hooks are very heavy. If they miss, it gives Rayman an opportunity to attack. In Rayman 2: Revolution, two can be seen in Razorbeard's cabin. Later on, they defend the two generators that power the shield at the pirate factory, and once the generators are destroyed, the Ninja Henchmen are no longer seen next to Razorbeard.

Gorilla Pirate
Main article: Ape Pirate<br>

The Gorilla Pirates are so named because of their similarities to an ape or gorilla, in both appearance and behaviour. they are very bulky, and where a blue and white striped shirt. they can not be hurt by Rayman's attacks, so usually the idea is to lure them off a cliff or ledge, or to throw a plum at their head and use it as a platform.

Barrel Pirate
Main article: Barrel Pirate<br>

The Barrel Pirates consist of a large barrel with legs, a cannon on top, and a slit with eyes inside. Sometimes they are found disguising themselves, as the slit can be closed and the legs can be withdrawn. In this state, they just look like a barrel and a cannon. Their attacks differ from version to version. On the PlayStation version, they simply fire sets of three large balls of electricity. In Rayman 2: Revolution however, they fire bolts of lightning that can only be avoided by hiding behind something. In this version, they also launch cannonballs, similar to those used by the yellow henchmen, only it uses a poisonous gas instead of fire. One thing that is consistent in each version is their large amount of life.

Razorbeard's Lackey
Main article: Admiral Razorbeard's Lackey<br>

This is the pirate who carries out many of Razorbeard's orders. He is unarmed, although his arms are very similar to a typical Henchman's, except with ordinary hands. his body consists of two rough cubes, the lower one larger than the top. The lower one has the legs sticking out of it and a pair of green pants. His head is a basic cube with an opening mouth and a red bandanna. Although he has no weapons, he still causes Rayman trouble. Carrying out Razorbeard's orders, he drives the Warships which pursue Rayman. He also controls Clark at one point via remote control, as well as a giant bird-like robot called the Dinosaur in the same manner. Also, in Rayman 2: Revolution, he controls a hemispherical vehicle called the Biditank.

Pirate Vehicles
The Warships
Warships are flying ships that attack Rayman in The Bayou, The Canopy and The Precipice. They usually fire slow moving homing bombs that move about like a helicopter, and can be easily destroyed by Rayman's attacks. They also fire cannonballs, but these are not usually aimed at Rayman, but instead at platforms to blow them away. They may also launch walking shells that run towards Rayman upon landing.

The Dinosaur
The Dinosaur is a giant bird-like robot controlled by Razorbeard's Lackey. It is only ever named in the PlayStation version, but does appear in the others. It often pecks the ground like a chicken. The Dinosaur is notable for periodically jumping high, and upon landing, causes objects to bounce off the ground. Also, when Rayman is on the shell, it chases after him, and runs faster than the shell when going in a straight line, but lacks agility. The Dinosaur is not destroyed, although in the PlayStation version it runs out of fuel.

The Biditank
This is a tank-like vehicle that takes the shape of a hemisphere. It is driven by Razorbeard's Lackey in the pirate factory in Rayman 2: Revolution, and travels on wheels located underneath it. It fires the same kind of propeller bombs as the Warship as well as a machine gun-like weapon. Also, it can use an attack like that of the Barrel Pirates, at which point Rayman must hide behind something. It can only be damaged by activating a powerful gun and using it to fire at the tank.
It is the product of a cluster of Black Lums that had stripped the fur of several animals and created all sorts of rags to hide their inner contents. They are often found sporting an assortment of weapons, especially shotguns, that shoot slow moving fireballs.

Personality
The Hoodlums are very insane and stupid. Despite this, they proved a tough enemy for Rayman. They were desperate to kill Rayman by all means, but because of Rayman's strong skill, they failed miserably.

Teensies are small creatures who comprise a large percentage of the Glade of Dreams' sentient population. They are frequently encountered in Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 2: Revolution, and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc.

Description
Teensies have pale blue-grey skin and a characterized by their faces, which generally appear quite large due to their long, drooping noses that overlap their grinning mouths and chins. Their noses have elegant spiral markings that are cyan in color, though these markings are only vaguely noticable until Rayman M. Teensies have beady black eyes and small, mitten-like hands that lack any fingers other than thumbs. They are short compared to most of the Glade's denizens, and so will stand on top of one another to look bigger.

The Teensies were created by Polokus to oversee the many passages of the world. As such, Teensies have an excellent sense of direction and know many secret paths. Their greatest secret is the long shortcut hidden somewhere in the world. Many Teensies have the ability to create portals that use the Teensie Highway to quickly link distant locations to one another. Teensies are magical creatures by birth, and as such are able to create Silver Lums. They are very wise, and are powered by Yellow Lums.

The many Teensies are collectively ruled by the Grand Minimus, who reside deep within the Fairy Council.

The Teensie race is a diverse one, and the personality and dialect of a Teensie widely depends on where it comes from. In general, many Teensies are talkative and fun-loving creatures who have a taste for disco.

Female Teensies have yet to make an appearance in any game so far, and so it is unknown how similar they are to their male counterparts. Female Teensies are only subtly alluded to in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, in which some Teensies will grumble about needing to attend to their children (of which also have never appeared in any game). Though there exists the possibility that Teensies are hermaphroditic, it is generally regarded that the existence of Teensie wives is more likely.

Role in the Game
Rayman 3
In Rayman 3, most Teensies have taken the role previously held by Electoons in Rayman and Denys, Ludivs, Greenbottles, etc. in the many versions of Rayman 2. Though a few Teensies such as the Grand Minimus and the Teensie Doctors have a role in the game's plot and are found elsewhere, most Teensies are found by destroying a cage. If Rayman destroys enough cages in a world, his HP Bar will increase its maximum capacity.
Trivia
*Teensies were originally going to appear in Rayman Raving Rabbids, in which they appeared in some of the early screenshots. However, after the game was remodeled into a party game, the Teensies were cut from the game.

Clark the Giant was a character from Rayman 2: The Great Escape and its remakes, Rayman 2: Revolution and Rayman DS. In Rayman 2 and Rayman DS, Clark makes his first appearance in the Menhir Hills. In Revolution, he makes his first appearance in the Minisaurus Plains (or the Eastern Plains if the player does not access the area before obtaining the first mask).

Creation
Clark was one of the first of the people created by Polokus in the early days of the Glade of Dreams. Clark was created to fold the land into hills and to dig out valleys and lakes.

Main Role in Rayman 2
The Menhir Hills
Clark, like Globox and Carmen, was one of the characters-in-distress that Rayman had to help out following his adventures in the Sanctuary of Water and Ice (Whale Bay in the PS version of Rayman 2). In all versions of the game, Clark plays his first major role in the Menhir Hills and is the first of the People that Rayman must save.

After dashing through the dangerous Menhir Hills, Rayman arrives in a Pirate Academy. There, he discovers that all the Robo-Pirates have been destroyed, thanks to Clark. Clark, however, accidentally swallowed a robot part and became sick--possibly fatally. To save his friend, Rayman must travel to the Cave of Bad Dreams to find a cure. Though before the Guardian of the Cave of Bad Dreams did not allow Rayman entry, Clark gives Rayman the knowledge he needs to enter.

The Menhir Hills Revisit
Following Rayman's triumph over the cave guardian, Rayman returns through the trials of the Menhir Hills and gives Clark the Elixir of Life. Grateful and full of rejuvenated energy, Clark agrees to be Rayman's bodyguard for the duration of the level. Clark uses his special ability--crashing through wooden walls--to allow Rayman to pass through the academy and (in Rayman 2 and Rayman DS) into the next level.

Tomb of the Ancients
Clark was somehow captured following the events of the Menhir Hills, and in the end was brought to a secret laboratory deep within the Tomb of the Ancients. By the time Rayman finds his powerful friend, it is too late; Clark has been brainwashed by Admiral Razorbeard's Lackey and is being controlled via Remote Control. This leads to an unexpected boss battle against Clark.

To defeat Clark, Rayman had to press three switches to turn on a laser beam, and then trip the giant on it. Once the giant was tripped, Rayman could attack the RC pack on Clark's back. After a while of doing this, the pack was destroyed and Clark was saved once and for all. After doing a dance with Rayman, Clark assists Rayman in reaching the warp spot that (in Rayman 2) takes him to the next level.

After the Tomb
Clark's final appearance in all the versions of Rayman 2 is after the fight with Razorbeard. Clark is waiting with other good characters for Rayman's return.

Minor Roles in Rayman Revolution
Clark's primary role in Rayman Revolution (other than his level appearances) is opening up the Globox's House, Rainbow Creek, and Iron Mountain areas of the game. He is visited after every sanctuary level.

The Eastern Plains
In Rayman 2: Revolution, Clark's first appearance is either outside or at the Eastern Plains in the Minisaurus Plains. If Rayman has not completed the Sanctuary of Water and Ice and heads along the path towards the Eastern Plains, a gang of Robo-Pirates will ambush him. Though it will look like he is defeated, Rayman is happy to see Clark ambushing the pirates. Clark chases the Robo-Pirates into the Eastern Plains, yelling threats. If Rayman never trods in this direction before his destination becomes the Menhir Hills, this scene will not happen.

Clark's next appearance is following the Sanctuary of Water and Ice. The Teensie at the Minisaurus Plains Teensie Circle will tell Rayman that Clark is waiting in the Eastern Plains. If Rayman enters the Plains and ascends the cliff-side bridge, he will eventually find Clark. Clark uses his wall-breaking ability to pave entry to the Globox's House area of the Front. Clark does not re-appear until the Menhir Hills level.

The Capture of Clark
Clark plays the same role after Rayman has completed the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. The Teensie of Globox's House tells Rayman that Clark is waiting for him by Whale Bay. If Rayman passes Whale Bay and follows the nearby beach, he will encounter Clark waiting by a bridge. Clark will crash through a wooden wall, and he and Rayman pass through it.

Clark then passes through another wooden wall at the far end of a mountainous arena. However, before Rayman can follow, Robo-Pirates flood out of the hole, presumably capturing Clark in the process and taking him to the Tomb of the Ancients. Rayman must battle wave after wave of Robo-Pirates arcade-style; however, once the road to the Rainbow Creek is clear Clark is nowhere to be found.

Later, following the Lava Sanctuary the Teensie of the Rainbow Cliffs tells Rayman that Clark's location has been found. Rayman must return to Skull Cave to locate the Tomb of the Ancients.

The Iron Mountains
Clark's final act follows the Tomb of the Ancients. Rayman must meet Clark by a wooden wall near the Rainbow Cliffs Teensie Circle. Clark busts the wall, allowing Rayman access to the Iron Mountains.

Sub-Sequent Appearances
Clark makes a final in-game appearance after Rayman has completed the Prison Ship. He joins Rayman's other friends in waiting for him by the bullet taking Rayman to the Crow's Nest.

Clark next appears during the final credits, in which he displays his mastery of the electric guitar.

Trivia
*Clark is the only good guy in Rayman 2: Revolution other than Murfy to not have his home visited.
*His name is not to be confused with Clark the Superrabbid from Rayman Raving Rabbids
Admiral Razorbeard is the main antagonist of Rayman 2: The Great Escape and its remakes.
Description
Admiral Razorbeard is the ringmaster of the Robo-Pirate Army, which invade the Glade of Dreams and captures most of the world's inhabitants to use as slaves or fuel. He is a short robot with a peg-leg, wearing a huge admiral hat and red and white striped pants, and has a huge crooked piece of metal on his face which is supposedly a beard.

Razorbeard's history is not known; however, he is known to be married.
Razorbeard makes a fairly brief appearance in the Rayman: The Animated Series episode "LacMac Napping", in which as opposed to his role in Rayman 2, he is a mere lackey to Rigatoni. His physical appearance has also changed, and has a non-robotic voice.
Before doing this, Polokus created four masks that, when reunited, would awaken Polokus in case their was trouble. After Rayman finds them all, Polokus explains that Rayman will have to fight Razorbeard on the prison ship because on the earth, Polokus is strong but when in the air he is as vulnerable as a new-born. Then he gives Rayman maximum energy and teleports him to the Prison Ship. Polokus then eliminates all the Robo-Pirates infesting the planet.
