Jan 2020: I'm on a quest to become the top-scoring Rayman 3 player in the US on PC. A bit over-specific, but it's a start. Right now I have 531,735 points in total, which is a little over 30k behind the current top of US PC.

Oct 2022: I'm the top-scoring Rayman 3 player in the US on PC, with 572,502 points, the first new US/PC champion since Rayfist was recorded in the Hall of Fame in 2011. Rayfist's previous championship score was 568,773, recorded in February of 2013.

The '''Destiny Arena''' is an amphitheatre-like chamber located in the depths of the tunnels beneath [[the Desert of the Knaaren]]. This arena is where [[Knaaren]] warriors battle for the entertainment of a [[Knaaren]] audience which includes their king, [[Gumsi]]. Its name is given only in the original French version of ''[[Rayman 3]]''.

At the time of ''[[Rayman 3]]'', [[Reflux]] was the undisputed champion of the [[Knaaren]]. [[Reflux]] won his first champion title during the season of the two full [[moons]], and since then he had won twenty-eight fights in a row, knocking out his opponent each time. Eventually no other [[Knaaren]] dared to stand against [[Reflux]] in the arena; he could only find opponents in the rare prisoners captured around the desert. [[Reflux]]'s championship comes to an end when he captures [[Rayman]] to do battle with him in the Destiny Arena; [[Rayman]] does what no other could, and defeats [[Reflux]]. The disgraced [[Reflux]] then teams up with [[André]] to exact revenge on [[Rayman]].

The '''Hall of Fame''' is the official ranking of the player's scores in ''[[Rayman 3]]''. It was originally available in [[RaymanZone]]'s official website for the Lums Race code submission in the players accounts, making them winning [[Lum]]s for the [[Lums Quest]]. With the release of ''[[Rayman Raving Rabbids]]'' and its sequels, their leaderboards soon took prominence on the website, leading to the discontinuation of the Hall of Fame. On February 25, 2007, it was reopened in the [[Rayman Pirate-Community]] in collaboration with [[Ubisoft]], now protected against cheaters by the community's moderators. It operated for over twelve years, until it was reported to be broken on September 1st, 2019, due to [[Ubisoft]] shutting down the API with no prior warning. Scores had to be submitted manually for over a year until the algorithm was reverse-engineered and integrated into [[Rayman Pirate-Community]] on December 21st, 2020.

The '''Hall of Fame''' is the official ranking of the player's scores in ''[[Rayman 3]]''. It was originally available in [[RaymanZone]]'s official website for the Lums Race code submission in the players accounts, making them winning [[Lum]]s for the [[Lums Quest]]. With the release of ''[[Rayman Raving Rabbids]]'' and its sequels, their leaderboards soon took prominence on the website, leading to the discontinuation of the Hall of Fame. On February 25, 2007, it was reopened in the [[Rayman Pirate-Community]] in collaboration with [[Ubisoft]], now protected against cheaters by the community's moderators. It operated for over twelve years, until it was reported to be broken on September 1st, 2019, due to [[Ubisoft]] shutting down the API with no prior warning. Scores had to be submitted manually for over a year until the algorithm was reverse-engineered and integrated into [[Rayman Pirate-Community]] on December 21st, 2020.

The actual worldwide champion is [http://www.raymanpc.com/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=5415 Maz] with a [[Rayman 3 scoring system|score]] of 918,395 points and sixty freed [[Teensie]]s in the PC version. In March 2012, [[Rayman 3 HD|a HD version of the game]] was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and it brought back the Hall of Fame under the name of leaderboards with automatic score submission, eliminating the Lums Race code insertion that was required before.

The '''Hall of Fame''' is the official ranking of the player's scores in ''[[Rayman 3]]''. It was originally available in [[RaymanZone]]'s official website for the Lums Race code submission in the players accounts, making them winning [[Lum]]s for the [[Lums Quest]]. With the release of ''[[Rayman Raving Rabbids]]'' and its sequels, their leaderboards soon took prominence on the website, leading to the discontinuation of the Hall of Fame. On February 25, 2007, it was reopened in the [[Rayman Pirate-Community]] in collaboration with [[Ubisoft]], now protected against cheaters by the community's moderators. It operated for over twelve years, until it was reported to be broken on September 1st, 2019, due to [[Ubisoft]] shutting down the API with no prior warning. Scores had to be submitted manually for over a year until the algorithm was reverse-engineered and integrated into [[Rayman Pirate-Community]] on December 21st, 2020.

The actual worldwide champion is [http://www.raymanpc.com/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=5415 Maz] with a [[Rayman 3 scoring system|score]] of 918,395 points and sixty freed [[Teensie]]s in the PC version. In March 2012, [[Rayman 3 HD|a HD version of the game]] was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and it brought back the Hall of Fame under the name of leaderboards with automatic score submission, eliminating the Lums Race code insertion that was required before.

==Description==
Clearleaf Forest is a large, formerly peaceful forest that has been invaded by the [[Hoodlum]] army. [[Rayman]] must make his way past natural obstacles and [[Hoodlum]] installations in order to bring [[Globox]] to [[Otto Psi]], the first of three [[Teensie doctor]]s, whom the heroes hope will be able to extract [[André]] from [[Globox]]'s stomach.

===Stage 1 - The first [[Teensie]] prisoner===
After [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] fall down from reaching the end of the first [[Teensie Highway]], [[Globox]] questions: "Who turned off the nice music? Hope I didn’t break anything." [[André]] then tells him to shush, as he demands to get out of [[Globox]]'s stomach and to have some [[plum juice]]. In order to get to the barrel, [[Rayman]] must pass through a building after dealing with [[Hoodmonger]]s outside. He can then free his first ever [[Teensie]], a [[Sylkin]] who gives him a [[Vortex]] can of [[Laser-Washing Powder]] that he had stolen from the [[Hoodlum]]s. [[Rayman]] can then lower the nearby [[meadowscrew]] impeding his progress. [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] go along a bridge, only to find a wooden door with the face of a [[Hoodlum]] carved onto it, in their way. As [[Rayman]] wonders how to get it open, a couple of [[Hoodmonger]]s come out from nowhere and ambush [[Rayman]]. One of them is in possession of a [[Heavy Metal Fist]] can; [[Rayman]] can use this to break down the door with a fully charged [[Telescopic fist|fist]] and [[helicopter]] down to the next section of the forest.

As the two reach the bottom, [[Rayman]] must defeat a gang of [[Hoodmonger]]s who guard a barrel of [[plum juice]]. After all are defeated, [[Globox]] goes to the barrel, and immediately drinks it down, per [[André]]'s demand. As he finishes, he takes [[Rayman]] to a waterfall teeming with [[piranha]]s and starts to [[Swimming|swim]] upwards with [[Rayman]] clinging onto his back. Now at the top, [[Rayman]] then leaves through a cave.

===Stage 2 – The clearings===
[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] land in a small area surrounded by [[mushroom]]s. Several [[Hoodlum]]s arrive by [[Hoodlum Zeppelin|Zeppelin]]s, one drinking heavily from a [[keg]] of [[plum juice]]. [[Rayman]] must destroy them to gain a [[Vortex]] can of [[Laser-Washing Powder]]; with it he must lower a [[meadowscrew]] to gain access to the higher levels of the forest, where there are a couple more remaining [[Hoodmonger]]s. After defeating one of them that has the dollar ($) sign, a [[Heavy Metal Fist]] appears, which [[Rayman]] uses to smash through a barricade to get to a waterfall-filled area. Meanwhile, [[Globox]] drinks down the [[plum juice]], inflates as a side effect, and floats away. [[Rayman]] has to advance and as he [[helicopter]]s a good distance, he then smashes a [[cage]] containing a [[Sylkin]] that gives him his first can of the [[LockJaw]]. With it, he makes it safely to the other end of the creek, where he finds [[Globox]], still intoxicated, standing in front of a [[Hoodlum]] camp. [[Rayman]] must fight off the many [[Hoodmonger]]s and a [[Slapdash]] that guard the area before smashing down a wooden barricade. With [[Globox]] no longer intoxicated, [[Rayman]] has to stick a [[plum]] on its post to get up to a [[Hoodlum]] fortress.

===Stage 3 – The [[Hoodlum]] fortress===
[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] walk along hallways filled with crates of [[plum juice]] bottles. In the center of a circular room lies the first [[Hoodmonger Soldier]]. Defeating him rewards [[Rayman]] with his first ever [[Shock Rocket]] can of [[Laser-Washing Powder]]. This power makes his [[Telescopic fist|fist]] as a rocket. Even with [[Globox]]'s displeasure of the use of the costumes, [[Rayman]] uses the [[Shock Rocket]] to maneuver through three obstacle courses to hit three targets of himself and [[Globox]] to open three doors. Moving through the hallways, [[Rayman]] encounters a [[Hoodboom]], but has no time to defeat him as he quickly runs through a gate which closes sharply. [[Rayman]] is trapped unless he uses a [[Vortex]] and [[LockJaw]] (dropped by two [[Hoodmonger]]s) to lower a [[meadowscrew]] and swing on a [[flying hook]]. Once he is across, he will need to activate a [[switch]] that opens the gate so [[Globox]] can get through. A band of [[Hoodlum]]s is inside, naturally, and [[Rayman]] will have to defeat them all for the aforementioned [[Hoodboom]] to appear. He is too high up for [[Rayman]] to reach, so [[Rayman]] will need to find and kill a [[Slapdash]] to obtain another can of [[Shock Rocket]] and use it to hit the [[Hoodboom]]. After every [[Hoodlum]] is defeated, [[Globox]] drinks a barrel full of [[plum juice]] and belches out a purple [[bubble]] - [[Rayman]] can bounce onto it to help him reach the higher level of the fortress. Inside is a mass of crates; [[Rayman]] must make his way through the fortress, freeing every [[Sylkin]] he comes across. Each will give him a [[Heavy Metal Fist]] can, useful for smashing down wooden barricades with more [[Sylkin]] [[Teensie]]s hidden inside. Eventually, he will have enough cans to take him through a barricade at the far end of the fortress.

In the first room, above [[Globox]], is an air vent, hiding a lever. If [[Rayman]] can maneuver a [[Shock Rocket]] to activate the lever, a trap door will open up, containing yellow and red [[Jewel|gems]].

===Stage 4 – The [[Hoodstomper]]===
[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] defeat a [[Hoodmonger Soldier]] and drop down a hole into a dark cave, filled with [[Red Lum]]s. The cave only has one exit: Into the Clearleaf Arena, where a small [[Hoodlum]], [[Master Kaag]] rides atop his stomping machine, the Hoodstomper. [[Rayman]] must trigger three [[switch]]es at a time to make a [[Laser-Washing Powder|can]] of [[Shock Rocket]] appear. Once [[Rayman]] has obtained the power, he must shoot [[Master Kaag]] in the back, and then repeat this process two more times to defeat him (on the third time, [[Slapdash]]es appear on the [[switch]]es). [[Rayman]] then takes control of the Hoodstomper and rides it into battle, destroying three waves of ten [[Hoodmonger Soldier]]s to open a gate. Once the gate is opened, [[Rayman]] drops off from the Hoodstomper and continues to the gate where [[Globox]] comes out from hiding, and the duo enters [[Otto Psi]]'s office.

===Stage 5 – [[Otto Psi|Otto]]'s office===
[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] enter the office of [[Otto Psi]] only to find a group of [[Hoodmonger]]s running around inside. [[Rayman]] must kill all of them to open the door.

After [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] enter the office, a cutscene plays, in which [[Otto Psi|Otto]] is examining [[Globox]] in his theatre, and attempts to coax [[André]] out of his stomach by raising his arm, and playing it as if his arm was an electric guitar. Unfortunately, while [[André]] is annoyed with this music, it fails to remove him from [[Globox]]'s stomach, so [[Otto Psi|Otto]] finally sends the duo away to [[The Land of the Livid Dead (Rayman 3)|the Land of the Livid Dead]] to meet his friend [[Roméo Patti]], the second [[Teensie doctor]].

Behind where [[Rayman]] starts is a hole in the wall. If examined, [[Rayman]] falls down into a room with several [[Jewel|gems]], including [[Jewel|a green one]].

[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] land in a small area surrounded by [[mushroom]]s. Several [[Hoodlum]]s arrive by [[Hoodlum Zeppelin|Zeppelin]]s, one drinking heavily from a [[keg]] of [[plum juice]]. [[Rayman]] must destroy them to gain a [[Vortex]] can of [[Laser-Washing Powder]]; with it he must lower a [[meadowscrew]] to gain access to the higher levels of the forest, where there are a couple more remaining [[Hoodmonger]]s. After defeating one of them that has the dollar ($) sign, a [[Heavy Metal Fist]] appears, which [[Rayman]] uses to smash through a barricade to get to a waterfall-filled area. [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] walk along hallways filled with crates of [[plum juice]] bottles. In the center of a circular room lies the first [[Hoodmonger Soldier]]. Defeating him rewards [[Rayman]] with his first ever [[Shock Rocket]] can of [[Laser-Washing Powder]]. This power makes his [[Telescopic fist|fist]] as a rocket. Even with [[Globox]]'s displeasure of the use of the costumes, [[Rayman]] uses the [[Shock Rocket]] to maneuver through three obstacle courses to hit three targets of himself and [[Globox]] to open three doors. Moving through the hallways, [[Rayman]] encounters a [[Hoodboom]], but has no time to defeat him as he quickly runs through a gate which closes sharply. [[Rayman]] is trapped unless he uses a [[Vortex]] and [[LockJaw]] (dropped by two [[Hoodmonger]]s) to lower a [[meadowscrew]] and swing on a [[flying hook]]. Once he is across, he will need to activate a [[switch]] that opens the gate so [[Globox]] can get through. A band of [[Hoodlum]]s is inside, naturally, and [[Rayman]] will have to defeat them all for the aforementioned [[Hoodboom]] to appear. He is too high up for [[Rayman]] to reach, so [[Rayman]] will need to find and kill a [[Slapdash]] to obtain another can of [[Shock Rocket]] and use it to hit the [[Hoodboom]]. After every [[Hoodlum]] is defeated, [[Globox]] drinks a barrel full of [[plum juice]] and belches out a purple [[bubble]] - [[Rayman]] can bounce onto it to help him reach the higher level of the fortress. Inside is a mass of crates; [[Rayman]] must make his way through the fortress, freeing every [[Sylkin]] he comes across. Each will give him a [[Heavy Metal Fist]] can, useful for smashing down wooden barricades with more [[Sylkin]] [[Teensie]]s hidden inside. Eventually, he will have enough cans to take him through a barricade at the far end of the fortress.

In the first room, above [[Globox]], is an air vent, hiding a lever. If [[Rayman]] can maneuver a [[Shock Rocket]] to activate the lever, a trap door will open up, containing yellow and red [[Jewel|gems]].

[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] defeat a [[Hoodmonger Soldier]] and drop down a hole into a dark cave, filled with [[Red Lum]]s. The cave only has one exit: Into the Clearleaf Arena, where a small [[Hoodlum]], [[Master Kaag]] rides atop his stomping machine, the Hoodstomper. [[Rayman]] must trigger three [[switch]]es at a time to make a [[Laser-Washing Powder|can]] of [[Shock Rocket]] appear. Once [[Rayman]] has obtained the power, he must shoot [[Master Kaag]] in the back, and then repeat this process two more times to defeat him (on the third time, [[Slapdash]]es appear on the [[switch]]es). [[Rayman]] then takes control of the Hoodstomper and rides it into battle, destroying three waves of ten [[Hoodmonger Soldier]]s to open a gate. Once the gate is opened, [[Rayman]] drops off from the Hoodstomper and continues to the gate where [[Globox]] comes out from hiding, and the duo enters [[Otto Psi]]'s office.

[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] enter the office of [[Otto Psi]] only to find a group of [[Hoodmonger]]s running around inside. [[Rayman]] must kill all of them to open the door.

After [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] enter the office, a cutscene plays, in which [[Otto Psi|Otto]] is examining [[Globox]] in his theatre, and attempts to coax [[André]] out of his stomach by raising his arm, and playing it as if his arm was an electric guitar. Unfortunately, while [[André]] is annoyed with this music, it fails to remove him from [[Globox]]'s stomach, so [[Otto Psi|Otto]] finally sends the duo away to [[The Land of the Livid Dead (Rayman 3)|the Land of the Livid Dead]] to meet his friend [[Roméo Patti]], the second [[Teensie doctor]].

Behind where [[Rayman]] starts is a hole in the wall. If examined, [[Rayman]] falls down into a room with several [[Jewel|gems]], including [[Jewel|a green one]].

In order to get to the barrel, [[Rayman]] must pass through a building after dealing with [[Hoodmonger]]s outside. He can then free his first ever [[Teensie]], a [[Sylkin]] who gives him a [[Vortex]] can of [[Laser-Washing Powder]] that he had stolen from the [[Hoodlum]]s. [[Rayman]] can then lower the nearby [[meadowscrew]] impeding his progress. [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] go along a bridge, only to find a wooden door with the face of a [[Hoodlum]] carved onto it, in their way. As [[Rayman]] wonders how to get it open, a couple of [[Hoodmonger]]s come out from nowhere and ambush [[Rayman]]. One of them is in possession of a [[Heavy Metal Fist]] can; [[Rayman]] can use this to break down the door with a fully charged [[Telescopic fist|fist]] and [[helicopter]] down to the next section of the forest.

As the two reach the bottom, [[Rayman]] must defeat a gang of [[Hoodmonger]]s who guard a barrel of [[plum juice]]. ===Stage 2 – The clearings===
[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] land in a small area surrounded by [[mushroom]]s. Several [[Hoodlum]]s arrive by [[Hoodlum Zeppelin|Zeppelin]]s, one drinking heavily from a [[keg]] of [[plum juice]]. [[Rayman]] must destroy them to gain a [[Vortex]] can of [[Laser-Washing Powder]]; with it he must lower a [[meadowscrew]] to gain access to the higher levels of the forest, where there are a couple more remaining [[Hoodmonger]]s. After defeating one of them that has the dollar ($) sign, a [[Heavy Metal Fist]] appears, which [[Rayman]] uses to smash through a barricade to get to a waterfall-filled area. Meanwhile, [[Globox]] drinks down the [[plum juice]], inflates as a side effect, and floats away. [[Rayman]] has to advance and as he [[helicopter]]s a good distance, he then smashes a [[cage]] containing a [[Sylkin]] that gives him his first can of the [[LockJaw]]. With it, he makes it safely to the other end of the creek, where he finds [[Globox]], still intoxicated, standing in front of a [[Hoodlum]] camp. [[Rayman]] must fight off the many [[Hoodmonger]]s and a [[Slapdash]] that guard the area before smashing down a wooden barricade. With [[Globox]] no longer intoxicated, [[Rayman]] has to stick a [[plum]] on its post to get up to a [[Hoodlum]] fortress.

===Stage 3 – The [[Hoodlum]] fortress===
[[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] walk along hallways filled with crates of [[plum juice]] bottles. In the center of a circular room lies the first [[Hoodmonger Soldier]]. Defeating him rewards [[Rayman]] with his first ever [[Shock Rocket]] can of [[Laser-Washing Powder]]. This power makes his [[Telescopic fist|fist]] as a rocket. Even with [[Globox]]'s displeasure of the use of the costumes, [[Rayman]] uses the [[Shock Rocket]] to maneuver through three obstacle courses to hit three targets of himself and [[Globox]] to open three doors. Moving through the hallways, [[Rayman]] encounters a [[Hoodboom]], but has no time to defeat him as he quickly runs through a gate which closes sharply. [[Rayman]] is trapped unless he uses a [[Vortex]] and [[LockJaw]] (dropped by two [[Hoodmonger]]s) to lower a [[meadowscrew]] and swing on a [[flying hook]]. Once he is across, he will need to activate a [[switch]] that opens the gate so [[Globox]] can get through. A band of [[Hoodlum]]s is inside, naturally, and [[Rayman]] will have to defeat them all for the aforementioned [[Hoodboom]] to appear. He is too high up for [[Rayman]] to reach, so [[Rayman]] will need to find and kill a [[Slapdash]] to obtain another can of [[Shock Rocket]] and use it to hit the [[Hoodboom]]. However, one peaceful night, when [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] were sleeping, the dreaming [[Rayman]]'s hands detached themselves from [[Rayman]] and wandered off, performing various shadow puppets to a Red Lum, growing from simple, relaxing ones to evil, scary ones. The Red Lum was frightened so much that it transformed into André, a [[Black Lum]] that desired world domination.

André started by transforming most of the [[Red Lum]]s into [[Black Lum]]s like himself. However, the Black Lums he created were not as powerful as him; they could not talk, were less intelligent, could not corrupt other Red Lums and did not have arms. The Black Lums began stealing fur from animals like [[Mawpaw]]s and used it to weave potato-sack costumes for themselves, becoming the [[Hoodlum]] army. André became the first Hoodlum, a [[Hoodmonger]].

After becoming a [[Hoodlum]], André pursued a frightened [[Murfy]] throughout the Council. Murfy found [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] sleeping at a tree, and tried to wake them up as André came closer and closer. Globox's attempts to snatch up the sleeping Rayman and bring him to safety resulted in him running away in fear with Rayman's hands. Murfy grabbed Rayman by the hair and flew away with him.

While travelling through [[the Fairy Council]], [[Rayman]] and [[Murfy]] soon found André again, and Murfy distracted him while Rayman beat him up. With his [[Hoodblaster]] costume destroyed, André reverted to being a [[Black Lum]], and revealed his plans to corrupt [[the Heart of the World]] itself, converting its energy into an army of [[Hoodlum]]s. He then flew off in the direction of the Heart's chamber. Rayman and Murfy pursued him so that they might prevent this calamity from occurring. Once André was in sight of the door leading to the Heart of the World, he rushed for it, and accidentally flew straight into [[Globox]]'s mouth and was swallowed.

At [[the Heart of the World]], the [[Grand Minimus]], King of the Teensies, told [[Rayman]] to take [[Globox]] to [[Clearleaf Forest]], where they would find the [[Teensie Doctor]] [[Otto Psi]]. Otto was an old friend of the Grand Minimus, and hopefully he would be able to remove the swallowed André from [[Globox]]'s stomach. As they travelled there, André become addicted to [[plum juice]], forcing [[Globox]] (who was allergic to it) to get drunk on it. Eventually they arrived at the doctor's office. Despite Otto's bizarre musical attempt to remove the [[Black Lum]], André simply moved to Globox's lungs. Otto then sent them to Doctor [[Roméo Patti]], whose office was in [[The Land of the Livid Dead (Rayman 3)|the Land of the Livid Dead]].

Roméo also tried a musical method, but André only moved to [[Globox]]'s (particularly small) brain. Roméo then sent [[Rayman]], Globox and André to the office of the third and final doctor, [[Gonzo]], where the three [[Teensie Doctor]]s combined forces and successfully removed André from Globox's stomach (it is revealed in ''[[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]]'' that some of André's spirit still remained within Globox). However, André flew away and gathered up a small army of [[Black Lum]]s. He then made an allegiance with the former [[Knaaren]] champion [[Reflux]], who [[Rayman]] had defeated and humiliated on the way to [[Gonzo]]]'s office. Reflux wanted revenge on Rayman, and André was able to persuade him to steal [[the Sceptre of the Leptys]] from the Knaaren king, [[Gumsi]]. Once they had invoked the power of [[the Leptys]] (the Knaaren god), Reflux would be able to kill Rayman, and André would be able to spawn a greater army of [[Hoodlum]]s (as he had attempted to do with [[the Heart of the World]]).

Later on, André and [[Reflux]] make their way to the top of [[the Tower of the Leptys]]. Once there, Reflux uses the Sceptre to summon the power of [[the Leptys]], which transforms him into a more powerful monster than he already was. As [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] climb the Tower to confront the villains, Globox reveals that he has grown fond of André and wants to be reunited with him. At the top, Reflux fights [[Rayman]]. As the battle goes on, Reflux embeds the Sceptre in his back so that he can utilise its power more fully. He grows massive and sprouts wings. André, who is now inside Reflux's back, uses [[the Sceptre of the Leptys]] to reproduce and create more [[Black Lum]]s; these Black Lums shoot from the flesh of Reflux's back, transform instantly into [[Hoodblaster]]s and then walk back into Reflux, who reabsorbs them. Rayman, with the added help of [[Globox]] and his [[Armaguiddon]] machine, defeat the monstrous Reflux by shooting at him and killing his Hoodblasters. Reflux turns to ice, shatters and vanishes, though it is unclear if he is dead.

With the [[grimace]] ability he was given by [[Gumsi]] as a reward for defeating Reflux earlier, Rayman transforms André back into a [[Red Lum]]. All Black Lums subservient to André also revert to their original forms, thereby ending the Hoodlums' havoc. The apparent explosion of the Leptys sends Rayman and Globox flying through the air, and they land in the very spot where they had been sleeping at the beginning of the game (it seems that the events of the entire game took place over the course of a single day). Globox says that he misses André and asks Rayman to scare a Red Lum, thus bringing André back. Rayman declines, wondering aloud what could possibly frighten a [[Lum]] as he falls asleep. A flashback then reveals to the player that it was Rayman's mischievous, wayward hands that had frightened a Red Lum into André the previous night.

It is unclear how exactly Razorbeard plans to use André, but it is most likely that he plans to devour him; [[Robo-Pirate]]s are known to gain energy by eating [[Red Lum]]s, and Razorbeard is shown eating a [[Yellow Lum]] at one point in ''Rayman 2''. At the end of the game, once Rayman defeats Razorbeard and his [[Grolgoth]] in the [[Heart of the Ancients]], Rayman manages to track down Globox. Globox spits out the Dark Lum and returns to [[baby Globox|his children]].

When Rayman defeats the clone, Globox reverts to his normal self and André's spirit fled.

==Appearance==
As a [[Black Lum]], André is essentially a small ball of black fluff. He has large, bulging, bloodshot eyes and a long tongue that tends to stick out at times. From his head protrude small, triangular ears that stick upwards slightly, and fly-like wings. Unlike other Black Lums, he has arms, and the palms of his hands are hairless.

==Personality==
André is rude and mean, often making cruel remarks about [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] throughout the games. He enjoys causing chaos and destruction and dreams of taking over [[the Glade of Dreams]]. He is insane and manic, and is revealed as a coward at the end of ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc|Rayman 3]]'', when Rayman is about to convert him back into a [[Red Lum]].

This power-up is also present in ''[[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]]'', in which it is provided by yellow cans and changes [[Rayman]]'s colour scheme to a purple tone. It is notably used to destroy [[the Infernal Machine]].

In an ad for ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc|Rayman 3]]'', [[Rayman]] can be seen using the Heavy Metal Fist without changing his clothes.

''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc|Rayman 3]]'' is the first game in [[Rayman (series)|the series]] to introduce a score system in an arcade-style format. Until the reformat of [[RaymanZone]], players were able to enter the key code they are provided at the end of the game in order to participate in a worldwide score ranking. A new Hall of Fame was created on [[Rayman Pirate-Community]] in 2009. The score system notably increased the replay value of the game.

==The combo mode==
===Basic mechanics===
As soon as points are scored the combo mode is activated. If the scoring continues while the combo mode is still active it is possible to increase the score considerably. Actually, the combo system is the key to reaching high scores in this game.

First is a list of how long the various objects will keep the combo mode activated:

[[Gem]]s, [[Piggybank]]s, Kickflips, [[Meadowscrew]]s, [[Armaguiddon]]s, [[Hoodlum watercraft]]s, [[Black Lum]]s, Crowns, [[Switch]]es, Doors, [[Tribelle]]s and [[Matuvu]]s: 2 seconds.

[[Hoodlum]]s, [[Muddibog]]s, [[Ninja Crab]]s and the last [[Podocrock]] in the group: 6 seconds.

In order to keep the combo mode activated after an object from first group, it is necessary to the collect the next object before 2 seconds have passed. If an object from the second group is collected, the combo mode will stay activated for no less than 6 seconds. It is worth noticing when creating combos.

The combo system is structured in the following way. The objects in a combo are gathered in groups of five and will be assigned combo points as follows:

*Objects 1 – 5: Objects 2 – 5 will have their points added to the combo counter.
*Objects 6 – 10: These objects will have their points doubled and added to the combo counter.
*Objects 11 – 15: These objects will have their points tripled and added to the combo counter.
*Objects 16 – 20: These objects will have their points quadrupled and added to the combo counter.
*Objects: 21 – : These objects will have their points quintupled and added to the combo counter.

In order to maximize the score under these rules it is a good strategy to save objects with high points as late in the combo as possible and start the combo with low points objects like yellow gems for example.

As an example consider a combo with five yellow gems, five red gems and one green gem. These objects can be combined in many ways, but let’s try a few ones. Let y denote a yellow gem, r a red gem and g a green gem. One combo could look like this:

According to the rules above the combo points are: 4·10 + 2·(10 + 4·30) + 3·30 = 390 points

Another combo could be:

*yyyyg | yrrrr | r

This combo is worth: 3·10 + 1500 + 2·(10 + 4·30) + 3·30 = 1880 points

A third option could be:

*yyyyy | grrrr | r

This combo is worth: 4·10 + 2·(1500 + 4·30) + 3·30 = 3370 points

And one last option:

*yyyyy | rrrrr | g

This combo is worth: 4·10 + 2·5·30 + 3·1500 = 4840 points

This example shows how important it is to let objects with high points come as late as possible in a combo. The difference between the highest and lowest combo is 4450 points. And if the combo was played with a [[Laser-Washing Powder|Powerup]], the difference would have been 8900 points.

===The green gem problem===
There is quirk in the game concerning the green gem taken in combo with a [[Laser-Washing Powder|Powerup]]. If the green gem is object number 16 or higher it won’t count in said combo. According to the rules above it should give 12.000 points in combo or even 15.000 points if it were object number 21 or higher in the combo. The reason for not allowing 12.000 or 15.000 combo points for the green gem is probably that it thus would be too easy to reach the maximum score in the levels concerned.

However, there are at most three places where this is a problem. One place is famously the secret room in SBTC part 2. Be careful to include the green gem in this combo as object number 11 – 15, otherwise it won’t count.

The other two places are in LS part 1, the secret room combo and in DOTK part 7 the green gems combo.

Note: The problem doesn’t arise when not using a [[Laser-Washing Powder|Powerup]].

===How to pass 100.000 points===
It is not possible to keep scoring when you reach 100.000 points, the counter simply stops and no more points are added to the counter. If one tries to keep scoring this way, the result is always lower than 100.000 points.

However, there is a way to pass this scoring limit and the secret lies in the fact that combo points are still added to the counter provided you have stopped scoring before you reach 100.000 points. The way to get the most out of your scoring would therefore be to land on exactly 99.999 points before the combo points are added.

Here is an example that shows how to use this. We can look at the previous example with five yellow gems, five red gems and one green gem. We use the following combo, which was worth 4840 points:

*yyyyy | rrrrr | g

We now calculate the sum of the points from the gems: 5·10 + 5·30 + 1500 = 1700 points.

Let us suppose you have a good score and you want to find out how many points you must have before you play this combo. In order to get the most out of this combo, you have to have this amount of points before you start playing this combo:

99.999 – 1700 = 98.299 points

When you have finished the combo the counter will show 99.999 points. This allows your combo points of 4840 points to be added to the counter and you final score will be:

99.999 + 4840 = 104.839 points

===The bonus point issue===
This section deals with the situation where bonus points can be used to pass the scoring limit. It is only relevant in CF part 4, but the calculations will nevertheless be done in full here.

It turns out that bonus points that comes from killing a, say, [[Hoodblaster]] with one hit are added to the counter regardless of the score. In order to clarify this, suppose you have 99.899 points and you kill a [[Hoodblaster]] with one hit. Then you get a 30 points bonus on top of the 100 points from the [[Hoodblaster]] itself. You score with therefore be: 99.899 + 100 + 30 = 100.029 points. If you have more than 99.899 points when you kill the [[Hoodblaster]] you will not get any points at all because you have passed the scoring limit of 99.999 points.

Now for the calculations of the maximum score CF. The maximum score in this level is achieved through the combo where [[Rayman]], wearing the [[Hoodstomper]] (boss) outfit, steps on three [[Slapdash]]es and 27 [[Hoodblaster]]s. Each [[Hoodblaster]] is worth 100 points plus 30 bonus points. Again scoring must stop on 99.999 points before combo points are added. We must first calculate the sum of the points from each of the [[Slapdash]]es and [[Hoodblaster]]s: 3·30 + 27·130 = 3600 points.

Now we calculate: 99.999 – 3600 = 96.399 points.

But since the 30 bonus points from the last [[Hoodblaster]] (no. 27) are added to the counter, the actual score before you play this combo should be:

96.399 + 30 = 96.429 points.

As for the combo points, this can be calculated as follows. Let S denote a [[Slapdash]] and H a [[Hoodblaster]]. The combo can look like this:

*SSSHH | HHHHH | HHHHH | HHHHH | HHHHHHHHHH

The value of this combo is: 2·30 + 2·100 + 2·5·100 + 3·5·100 + 4·5·100 + 5·10·100 = 7760

The total score will be: 99.999 + 7760 + 30 = 107.789 points.

===The green gem issue===
This section deals with another maximum score situation, this time in TLOTLD.

It turns out that there is an unexpected issue when passing the scoring limit of 100.000 points when the green gem is taken with a [[Laser-Washing Powder|Powerup]]. This issue can be illustrated by using the well-known example:

This time we play the combo with a [[Laser-Washing Powder|Powerup]]. We use the previous calculations concerning this combo to get

The sum of points: 2·1700 = 3400 points

The combo points: 2·4840 = 9680 points

Using the original rules, we would get:

Points needed before the combo: 99.999 – 3400 = 96.599 points

Total score: 99.999 + 9680 = 109.679 points.

However, it turns out that the green gem ONLY counts for 1500 points in relation to the scoring limit, even though it is taken with a [[Laser-Washing Powder|Powerup]]. The remaining 1500 points are carried over the limit in much the same way as the bonus points in the previous section. Therefore the following corrections to the above calculations are necessary:

Points needed before the combo: 99.999 – 3400 + 1500 = 98.099 points

Total score: 99.999 + 9680 + 1500 = 111.179 points.

Note: This is the only level where the maximum scored is reached through gems taken with a [[Laser-Washing Powder|Powerup]]. So these special calculations are not needed elsewhere.

I will finish this section by doing the actual calculations for part 5 in TLOTLD.

The combo used is the following and the [[Laser-Washing Powder|Powerup]] is the Shock Rocket:

Total score: 99.999 + 19.600 + 1500 = 121.099 points

This is the maximum score for TLOTLD.

When the men Bégoniax falls in love with reject her, she subjects them to her love potion, which transforms them into [[toad]]s. She then breeds with these toads, producing so many tadpoles that she no longer knows what to do with them.

==Role in the games==
While Bégoniax is using an outhouse in the swamp near her home, [[Rayman]] suddenly falls in through its roof. (The first [[Teensie doctor]], [[Otto Psi]], had tried to teleport him to the office of the second doctor, [[Roméo Patti]], in [[the Land of the Livid Dead (Rayman 3)|the Land of the Livid Dead]], but the [[Teensie Highway]] had been broken, causing Rayman to fall into [[the Bog of Murk]].) Bégoniax mistakenly thinks that Rayman is spying on her. She calls him a pervert and storms off to her house, muttering angrily under her breath as Rayman tries to apologise, saying ‘I— I'm sorry, I— I didn't mean to—’. Rayman then enters her home, where she challenges him to a fight around a huge cauldron full of a hot green love potion that temporarily turns anyone who touches it into a [[toad]]. In their [[toad]] forms, [[Rayman]] and Bégoniax are notably slower, and the latter is less resistant, taking on a third more damage than in her normal form.

After the fight, she runs to her magic mirror, and stands on a tall chair in front of it, mockingly calling out to [[Rayman]]. When Rayman steps through the mirror, he finds himself teleported to another region of the Bog, where he eventually encounters and defeats [[Count Razoff]] in his mansion. Bégoniax then appears in Razoff's dungeon, possibly having come there via Razoff's own magic mirror. It is then revealed that Bégoniax is infatuated with Razoff; she is seen holding and caressing him, with [[Rayman]] and [[Globox]] witnessing. Telling him ‘Carry me off to your cells and lock me in!’ and ‘Whip me!’ Unfortunately Razoff does not reciprocate her feelings, and repeatedly tells her to ‘Let go!’ and ‘Girl, get off!’ as he tries to struggle free of her grip. She then carries him off. It is unknown what happens to Razoff immediately afterwards.

In the minigame [[Crush]], which takes place after the events of ''[[Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc|Rayman 3]]'', Bégoniax has cast a spell on [[Count Razoff]]'s dungeon, causing [[toad]]s to start multiplying within it. It is implied that these toads are Bégoniax's transformed lovers, or perhaps their offspring. The player must help Razoff to crush the toads with his wrecking ball. One of the toads is apparently a transformed Bégoniax, as it looks identical to how Bégoniax appears when [[Rayman]] splashes her own toad potion on her in their fight. However, this toad appears multiple times during the minigame, even after being crushed repeatedly, indicating that Bégoniax is not actually killed here.

In [[Rayman 3 (Game Boy Advance)|the Game Boy Advance version of ''Rayman 3'']], the character of Bégoniax is omitted, along with many others. However, a level is named after her: [[Swamps of Bégoniax]]. The character is also directly referenced in the level by Rayman, who wonders if [[Globox]] 'might have gone to Bégoniax's marshes'.

Bégoniax is seen once more in ''[[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]]''. This boss fight is very similar to the one in ''Rayman 3'', though it takes place in a more open environment rather than circling a cauldron.

Rayman is forced to confront Reflux in a mid-game battle in the Desert of the Knaaren, and defeats him, destroying his reputation as Knaaren Champion. From then on, he strives for revenge, power, and dominance. He also has carried a strong grudge and deep hatred against Rayman after his battle with him. Reflux lodges the scepter into his back (essentially making Reflux reliant on the scepter as an energy source) and grows far larger in size and becomes much more muscular. He raises the outside of the fighting area and Rayman must use the Heavy Metal Fist to reach the scepter on his back and cause damage to it.

===Third Phase===

After the scepter has received thorough damage, Reflux utilizes more energy to levitate himself as well as the fighting area. Rayman must use the Throttle Copter to scale the levitating rock before it all vanishes and reach the Shock Rocket. With good aim, Rayman hits the scepter with a rocket and Reflux then enters his final and most powerful phase.

===Fourth Phase===

Reflux then ascends into the sky into an area made of crystal, while Globox picks Rayman up to follow Reflux. As Globox flys the vehicle, Rayman fires a weapon with Reflux on their trail to try to, again, hit the scepter. Finally, Rayman had severely damaged the scepter, and Reflux, with no energy source left, falls to the ground, crystallizes, and shatters (also releasing Andre).

==Appearance in [[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]]==

In [[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]], a boss, supposedly Reflux, appears during the game that Rayman must fight against. Following the battle, it is discovered that it was a clone and not actually Reflux. He is notable for being the game's final boss.

==Appearance==
Polokus is a short, fat, and aging creature resembling an amphibian, with extremely long arms and infected toenails. He wears a pair of blue-green trousers and a tall mauve and gold magician's hat.

==Biography==
Polokus himself was created by the [[Yellow Lum]]s. After creating this world, he went into a deep sleep to have a meeting with the other gods so they discuss the future. Before doing this, Polokus created four masks that, when reunited, would awaken Polokus in case there was trouble. To avoid anyone waking him needlessly, he hid them in the four corners of the world and placed Guardians there to protect them, each one with a weakness. This was done in such a way that only one being could get these masks: [[Rayman]].

It is when [[Admiral Razorbeard|Razorbeard]] and his [[Robo-Pirate Army|Robo-Pirate]] army attack in [[Rayman 2: The Great Escape]] that Rayman must collect the four masks. After every time Rayman collects a mask, he meets Polokus in his dreams. Polokus takes the mask and urges Rayman to find the rest. After Rayman finds them all, Polokus explains that Rayman will have to fight Razorbeard on the prison ship because on the earth, Polokus is strong but when in the air he is as vulnerable as a newborn. Then he gives Rayman maximum energy and teleports him to the Prison Ship. Polokus then eliminates all the Robo-Pirates infesting the planet.

At the end of the game, Polokus joins the rest at Rayman's funeral, very sad. Then Rayman arrives, alive, and everyone, including Polokus, celebrates.

The '''Grolgoth''' is a giant robot which [[Admiral Razorbeard|Razorbeard]] uses to put a stop to [[Rayman]] at [[the Crow's Nest]]. It is also the final boss of [[Rayman 2]] and [[Rayman 3 (GBA)|Rayman 3]].

==Description==
At a very late point in Rayman 2, Razorbeard is visited by a General who advertises the Grolgoth and its functions to him. The Admiral pictures the contraption with Rayman in its deadly grasp and killing him, and decides to buy it from the General. He then prepares for his attack while Rayman is going through [[the Prison Ship]]. It is a large machine that somewhat resembles Clark, only that it is yellow and can shoot bombs from its arms, and large energy balls from its feet. According to the General, "It does everything, except the dishes." The only way for rayman to beat this robot is hitting its bombs back, then collecting ammo inside the Crow's Nest and shoot it at him.
