Le Jade engine a été créé lors du développement de ''[[Beyond Good and Evil]]'' et partage son nom avec l'héroïne de ce jeu : Jade.
 
Ce moteur permet une grande flexibilité aux jeux qu'il fait tourner, incluant des séquences de gameplay différentes et des graphismes détaillés, aussi bien pendant les cinématiques que dans les phases de jeu.
