I wonder if they wanted to "redo" R2 on the GBA because they thought and knew that the GBC version was so underwhelming
But of course they decided to mishmash R2 and R3 plots to create R3 GBA in the end.

Yeah I mean they really couldn't do anything about all the missing content, they had to cut that stuff out due to the hardware limitations like you said.

I wonder why they didnt do a normal Windows release for this game even after spinoffs and expansions for it got released.

Fun fact Revolution was the first PS2 game to use the RenderWare engine which became extremely popular later on.
But its basically an "engine inside engine" thing because it also used Openspace underneath it lol.

I think that the DOS version is Red Book audio only.
It does not loop the tracks as well as the other verisons too (and its missing some tracks).

You can also play the game on CXBX-R the Xbox emulatorr as an alternative to avoid the bug.
But there is no hd texture pack for that version yet .

Well, they're cartoon characters, sort of, and the electoons gravitate around the protoon.
Am I the only one that feels there was scientific inspiration behind the relationship between the Great Protoon and the Electoons?

Sorry for the double post but good news for people that wanna emulate Rayman Revolution.
PCSX2 fixed some bugs and made the emulation of the game more accurate to the hardware.

Its only uaefull in speedruns because it is ridiculessly easy to cheese the game
Bur overall, n64 is terrible, unless emulated

My best guess is, the ps1 was too weak/some levels were too hard to implement+ they wanted it to feel different

Rayman Revolution really reminds me of Croc 2 in terms of how they structured the hub world and how you got a shop where you could purchase various things and upgrades.
I wonder if they got influence from that game but its kinda unlikely because RR came 1 year and a half after that game.

This level looks like it might have been made during the stage of development when Rayman was a kid named Jimmy who got sucked into a world inside his computer and had to fight an evil virus, as indicated by the “Fight The Virus” graffiti on the wall.

For the earliest prototype it's just the single map. In the later one there are functions to load levels from all worlds, like so:
Jungle: 14 levels
Mountain: 4 levels
Cave: 2 levels (second one is invalid)
Music: 5 levels (0 and 1 are the same)

I think that they could have done something similar on the Saturn port because it was very powerful to work with on 2D related graphics.
In general i don't know how they coded the Saturn port so good seeing as it also got the same issue with the Jaguar being very hard to code and program for.
