Haha, nice! I didn't know that. In our editor we'll make the always objects automatically be added with their respective object. In the original game they most likely had a template they used for all their levels, cause many levels have unused always events outside the level.

No, the object type for the platforms you plant aren't in the level. In Rayman 1 for any object to spawn (like the bullets the Hunter fires) it needs to be placed somewhere (usually off-screen). Fun fact: these are referred to as "always" objects, something which appears in Rayman 2/3 as well.

A user of the name SolidSnake11 had discovered the addresses to some values in the game. I noticed that the power-up one seemed to be two bytes where each bit acted like a flag. Yeah, the GOG version works pretty well, and if you have issues with it there are some common fixes.

Are you using the disc or GOG version? The disc version has some compatibility issues on Windows 10, with the sound issues being a common one of them. I'm sadly not sure how to fix it.

The easiest way for Rayman 1 is to simply copy over all files from the disc manually. They're usually in a "data" folder on the disc. Then you can use the Rayman Control Panel to set up the game.

It turns out the power to create platforms with your fist still exists in the prototype. This was mentioned in some magazines.

If it is of any use, Rayman Classic contains full localizations for a ton of languages, including Spanish etc. I can upload the files if you'd like. Oh, what are those languages? It certainly won't replace the older official names I'm hoping to find in that manual but it would be good to have them ...

For the GBA games you can check the ROM with a hex editor to get all of the text. RRR GBA has an unused name for the first lvl you can find there.

For the OpenSpace games (like R3) I've been using raymap as it parses all of the files into data structures. It doesn't yet have a localization export option, so I've had to modify the code to export them. Let me know if you want me to export the English text.

Yeah, the normal text uses some 8-bit encoding, so it's very limited with characters. In R1 for Japanese and Chinese they ended up referencing the textures to use for each character, so might be something similar here.
