Re: Rayman Control Panel (Rayman PC tools & utilities)

Thank you very much for your help! 🙏 I may see if disinstalling and reinstalling the software can fix that. I'll let you know if something changes. I've released a new update now which includes an updated version of the UI framework which claims to fix this issue. Please let me know if it's fixed :)

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids

That'd be a lot harder to check. Unlike most other games there's no simple type/graphics data index to set for each object. Instead each object basically has a function which handles it, using the object data in different ways.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids

Are there perhaps any differences in the EU version compared to US, since it seems to fix major bugs Minor ones probably, but I think all graphics data is the same. At least the compressed data sizes match exactly. This is all from the EU version btw. You mentioned that this fat rabbid enemy is act...

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids

Droolie and I exported most animations from the GBA version now and there are some interesting unused ones here. Sadly the palette is missing for the vast majority of them, so they got exported with palettes from other animations. Early costumes So it seems as if the costumes in the game were origin...

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

Makes sense, though we'd have to separate a few things, like the Image versus Cave levers (LEV2 versus LEV). That should probably be done anyway since they're so different! Yeah, we'd have to separate any events which use different DES or ETA between worlds, but I don't think there are so many of t...

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

Nice work! I went ahead and merged it now :) I also tried optimizing it slightly by not recreating the DES and ETA arrays for each time you add one, but rather use a temporary list to add to first. Regarding the DES/ETA names, I think it might be better if we merge the R1/EDU columns, or was there a...

Hunchman801 wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 4:16 pm Are those older games using a similar engine? I'm asking because I thought the artwork might have been from R3 GBA but then again it's a completely different engine.
Seems like they might. I downloaded the rom for the Ford racing game and the data seems structured in the same way.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids

No clue. They weren't very efficient with this game when it comes to unused content. There are a ton of leftovers from their older games, everything from full localization tables to loading screens etc. No wonder they had to use 16mb cart for this :fou2: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/693885...

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids

I found some odd unused artwork in the RRR GBA rom which appears to be using a level from R3 as the background:

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

Soon you'll be able to view maps and such on the web, but as for an actual build with editing support I don't know. It all depends on if we find someone who's willing to help out with the UI. Right now this is more of a technical tool than an actual editor sadly enough. Regarding ReDesigner, no, tha...

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

Not at this time no. We haven't made any builds since most features like the settings, tools etc. are all in the Unity editor. You can still check out and use Ray1Map if you download the source code and open it in Unity, but it's not very user friendly atm.

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

Thanks! The 64-bit version worked fine :) I should mention the sound was crackling when changing levels... I remember someone else said the patched TPLS DOSBox did this. Is this anything you've noticed too? Regarding the 64-bit value, I see. It's indeed a bit confusing :P I'll remove the flipping an...

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

I just saw your pull request. There were a few syntax issues with the way the out param was used for the IsWow64Process function which I fixed. I also flipped the win64 boolean after calling IsWow64Process on the current process if Unity is not 64-bit since the value IsWow64Process returns is if it'...

Re: Rayman Control Panel (Rayman PC tools & utilities)

Hm, seems the issue is in the UI framework I'm using. I can't really do much right now since I can't reproduce it, but I'll keep an eye out for it and hopefully it'll get fixed in a later update.

That is really odd. Does it happen every time? If so, could you please send me the crashlog so I can see where it happens.

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

Hm, that's odd. Try putting a try/catch around it and log the exception. It's annoying Unity doesn't actually show it correctly... Regarding 64-bit DOSBox, the groundwork is there but it needs to be implemented yeah. If it's just that the address it reads is 64-bit we could make a toggle in the sett...

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

Ah okay, glad you figured it out. It's easy to make mistakes with the indexes. it gets a bit confusing when you have to take into account the ones in allfix as well. That most likely explains Skop's incorrect hitbox too. There is one byte in the ETA which determines some hitbox related things. Regar...

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

I was thinking more about Mr Skops hitbox. I was curious if it's show the big vertical one preventing you from jumping over him. Regarding the errors for Bzzit/Moskito, that's odd. There is one animation for them using some unused sprites IIRC, maybe it's trying to play that and is thus getting wron...

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

That's really nice that you got it to work! :D Does it even show his hitboxes if you enable the debug mode in Designer? Regarding the hard-coded pointer, the reason I hard-coded them in R1_PC_VersionFile.SerializeImpl is because the game doesn't really parse the file. It just allocates it all to mem...

Re: Rayman 1 Level Editor/Viewer (Ray1Map)

I think an all the column separate from Kit would be the best. It becomes clearer then which ones were manually added. As you said though that will mean we'll have to check both columns, but I don't think that should be that hard to change. Perhaps we don't even need to have a separate des/eta per w...
