Re: Rayman 3 scores
Fair point, I’d just find it hard to walk away when you’re at the top.
There's a couple of reasons why it's very easy to walk away when you're at the top:
1.) You've been at the top for too long with no competition in sight. Not saying this to be cocky, I just know how much time and effort has ...

Re: Rayman 3 scores
The scoring information on the wiki is clearly outdated, but if anybody know which figures to replace it with, please let me know and I'll be glad to take care of it!
Sorry to say, but we don't really know either :oops2: the game is a giant mess at this point. I can give you some scores we know ...

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Nah, anything above 110k is only possible in part 2, 119.009 is just a different combo order. I don't know who edited the Wiki on that, but 119.009 was also never the theoretical maximum, it was just a very good score without any of the combos that make you want to quit the game :P

Re: Rayman 3 scores
This is the middle of the final combo. By "the details might still need some working out" I meant that we're not 100% sure yet which items can be included and which can't; as you can see in the video, there's a couple of awkwardly placed yellow gems around the SJ area.
But regardless of the ...

Re: Rayman 3 scores
Update since Cut brought up the topic, TOTL is kinda done already :P
The details might still need some working out, but bottom line is that a mid-combo launch has been found that allows you to start with the Green Gem at the bottom and get all the way to the top with the flying Hoodlums. Formerly ...

Re: Rayman 3 speedrunning
Thanks!
Re: Rayman 3
I think the answer to that might be as boring as "Ubisoft reused assets to save money"
Re: Rayman 3
Well, Rayman did originate as a 2D platformer. And not that I care personally, but some might argue that R3 shouldn't even count since Michel Ancel was hardly or not all involved (If I remember this correctly?), so between R1, Origins, Legends, and some of the more niche titles like R3 GBA and such ...
Re: Rayman 3
It's not much, but if you haven't found it yourself yet, this post lists a couple of console differences related to speedruning, glitches especially. Not sure if including glitches in the comparison is intended, but they are platform differences (not to mention ones "casual" R3 players wouldn't ...

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
Maybe this has been mentioned before, and maybe it's not an unpopular opinion, but:
I think the guardians of the sanctuaries in R2 look goofy as hell. And it's not even their design, but their animation... why are they swinging their arms around like they're walking, when they are clearly flying ...

Re: Rayman 3 speedrunning
Depends on the cage as well as your definition of "inactive". For instance, you can only get a crosshare on the first cage in LOTLD2 after using the Lockjaw for the first time, but if you can get up there without the Lockjaw, you can still break the cage by manually targetting it with a punch ...

Re: Challenge of the Month #18 - Summit Beyond the Clouds Scoring Challenge
Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to enter my first submission for this challenge:

Unfortunately I didn't get a high enough launch in the end, which lost me a lot of points... but it's the first attempt where I got everything in one combo, so I'll take it for now. I'll try some ...

Re: Rayman 3
On second thought, the desert does contain cans. Maybe the Hoodlums tried to take over DOTK at some point, but failed, and the cans/cages are a remnant of that.
But it would still be weird for the Hoodlums to take the cages with them :P maybe they were hoping to use the Teensies' powers? Who knows.

Re: Rayman 3
Isn't it stated that the Teensies imprisoned themselves in the cages out of politeness to the incompetent Hoodlums?
I mean, that would be possible, but it doesn't really explain why there are caged teensies in DOTK, for instance. Going by the exchange in DOTK1, the teensies seem terrified of ...

Re: Challenge of the Month #18 - Summit Beyond the Clouds Scoring Challenge
Holy, I almost missed another scoring challenge
I'll try to enter a submission, but this area is the bane of my existence, might take a while to get an attempt that I'm happy with :oops2:
For clarification, if I enter the room with e.g. 1.000 points, and I get hit before I start scoring ...
