I spent quite a lot of time trying to find a spot inside the hut from where the Matuvu could be seen, but to no avail (as I said, I spent A LOT of time on it, so just getting the position of the Matuvu completely wrong shouldn't be a problem here). If you are desperate, you can - instead of taking the Matuvu with the Lockjaw - use the Matuvu-Trick with the Gems near the Cage; collect the Gems, start strafing backwards, and, after getting at least 4 Gems, activate the Look-Mode just before taking the 5th Gem... Well, I suppose you know how the Matuvu-Trick works. I have succeeded in this once, and it's worth 230 additional Points (250 for the Matuvu, but -20 for not getting the first Yellow Gem in Combo with the TC), although you would probably go crazy trying to get this consistantly (could've very well taken me a few dozen times before I got this).

Edit: Just for the record, I even tried to pull a Double-Glitch on Begoniax, by getting her to very low health, turning her into a frog, then deminishing her life just after she passed the gate, and then hitting her again before the Frog-Transformation came to an end. Doesn't work either, though. I've also tried to pull some tricks on Razoff, but didn't find anything... I guess it's hard to get results if you don't know what exactly you are looking for.

Awesome stuff 1234, thanks :)
Part 2: Unfortunately I'm not completely sure but I think that MandM missed out on the last yellow gem inside the log in his video, which would be worth another 120 points. It's almost impossible to take it without taking fall-damage though.

@Maz, the problem is that Begoniax' House is at a completely different location, you get teleported upon entering the house. That's why it's impossible to get the Matuvu from there although it seems you can take him from almost infinite distance

For the Begoniax Double Glitch, Razoff in his Mansion is the only boss in the whole game where you gain the 1500 kill-points before his death-cutscene plays and that's the reason why he is the only one with a Double Glitch.

That's nice to know. :)

I was always confused as to why I could take the Matuvu from in front of the door just fine, and then nothing happened once I entered the house. It's still weird though, since you can jump back out.

Thanks, probably that are those missing points. :)
So there must be a gem under the bottom. I guess, that´s the gem the guy, who uploaded a video showing a softlock IPG in BOM 2, meant (in the comments).

So thanks to Maz we can get now 99.140 + 230 = 99.370 points (1930 points are missing).

In BOM4 it's possible two kill the two slapdashes as element 9 and 10, so you get one of the Hoodbooms x3 in combo. I'll try to record that this evening, that'd be another 140 points. Besides that I'm out of ideas... that Matuvu in BOM3 is really stupid, there is no damn way to take it for more than 1500 points which I really hate. BOM2 is already one hell of a combo and I doubt that there is room for improvement, maybe there is a crazy way to kill the Hoodboom as the 21st element but that would be only 180 points.

I quit CF now with a score of 122.406. Since I would have to play it another time anyway I decided to move on. I have now 110.929 in DOTK and 122.169 in LOTLD.

Wow, talk about unexpected! Thanks for sharing. ;)

I haven't tested that yet, but can't you - after the skip - go to the right, take 5 Gems with the SR, quickly kill the Hoodblaster, collect the remaining Gems, then kill the Hoodblaster running up and down the stairs, then renew the SR and THEN kill the other Hoodblasters, followed by taking the Green Gems? That should win a few more Points for taking the Gems with a Powersuit, but as I said, I wouldn't know whether that works yet.

you're idea should work out, it would allow for maximum of at least 122.339 or maybe even 122.399. Seems like i have to play LOTLD twice in two days :D

Ok, I have 122.329 in LOTLD now. I could have got 10 points more but since this isn't the maximum anyway, it's no big problem.

This is the combo I played: http://youtu.be/hWdgjV0N4e4
It allows for a score of 122.339 and you need 94.029 at the end of part 4. Once you figured out how the clip through the wall works, the combo itself is really easy.

Now this is the combo I went for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYILO19jYs0
Just one little change: I take the yellow gem as the first element. This makes things really complicated, because: it takes more time to pick it up and the Shock Rocket barely lasts long enough. Second, you can't take this yellow gem on your way back and getting that red gem in a combo with the Hoodlum almost requires perfect movement. Since I weakened the first Hoodblaster, I can kick him to death which is faster than firing a short ranged Shock Rocket at him and believe me, you'll need that time! This combo allows for the maximum score of 122.399 and you need 94.019 at the end of part 4. So when I'm bored and in the need of 70 extra points, I know where to go^^

I ended up with the same Combo for 122.339, but not with the other one. I wonder, would you have enough time to renew the SR after killing the first Hoodblaster, then jump through the wall again, and get the remaining 2 Gems with a Powersuit as well?

For now, I've contented myself with 122.079 Points, because I didn't think of kicking the Hoodblaster before actually playing the Combo, so I had 93.999 after Part 4.

That trick with kicking the hoodblaster was a funny accident, it used to kill my attempts until I though "hey, why not use that for my advantage".
Your idea with renewing the SR sounds horrible first but actually this could be a really nice solution for the difficulties of the combo and an improvement too. I have to test that. Thanks!

EDIT: Alright, I tried your idea and it's definetly possible, not even super hard. The tricky part is where you kill the 2nd Hoodblaster, since shooting a rocket at him would take too much time you have to kick him to death too, but still that makes returning to the Shock Rocket and shooting the other 3 hoodblasters a close call. Good thing that the rest of the combo is easy. That would allow for a maximum of 122.619 :)

Well... not even close! I spent now 10-12 hours estimated in LOTLD5 and am still not done. I had one very good try which should have been it, besides that nothing spectacular. The problem is that this combo is pretty RNG-dependent since the hoodlums are running around and you need them to be at the optimal position twice in this combo. Also the clip through the wall is consistent but not 100% consistent and since you have to hurry up if you want to keep the combo alive, you lack the time to bring yourself to the perfect position to clip through the wall. And the clip is a question of technique, when you do it perfectly right you will succeed on almost every try. So yeah, still no success but I'm working on it and should hopefully get it in the next few days.

I filmed the Matuvu-Combo in BOM1 and it's no big deal actually. Took me 20 minutes to do this for the first time but once you figured out how to move properly with this weird camera you can pull it off reliably. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wlELOpl_2Y

Re: Rayman 3 scores

Post by 1234 »

Finally i´ve finished my duties, so i can play R3 on some evenings again. :D

About HH: Recently i tried to reach the hoodboom platform in HH3. I haven´t found the glitch (or whatever), what last time occured, but i´ve found another way. I discovered, that, when you shoot on a hook while being very close to it, you will swing higher.
I recorded a video of this trick. It shows 4 tries, 2 with helicoptering, in order that you can see better how it works and 2 without, because that´s the faster way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWyr-v6lfIU

I gave also HH2 some thoughts. In the first room i couldn´t find anything. But i´m wondering, whether you can convert the lum from the last hoodlum in the second room, so that you can get 2500 combo points from the tribelle. Maybe you can send a curved shot to this hoodlum while falling down, convert the lum from the ground and continue with the green gem, the yellow gems and finally the tribelle? Have someone succeeded in it already?

I have also an idea for an improvement in the third room, but at first i´d like to ask, how you kill the hoodblaster to reach the gems in the secret room in time. Do you use a curved shot or is it just a usual straight shot? I´m asking, because reaching the secret room in time seems to be a very close call.
Anyway, the combo could be following: Take 11 yellow gems in the Gallery (take the last of them as late as possible). Leave the room and kill one hoodblaster as late as possible. Run towards the secret room and take two gems before getting the green gem. Take the remaining gems in this room, roll off and kill the elite monger with a curved shot. Run back to the gallery, renew the vortex and roll to the two left yellow gems. Kill the hoodblaster furthest away from the entrance and convert his lum. Send a fully charged curved shot to the last hoodblaster, run over the bridge and get the matuvu. If you are close enough roll to the red gem in addition.
With the red gem the whole room would be worth 23360 points. Thus it´d be an improvement of 1260 points.
If you can reach the gems in the secret room in time, i think the combo should work.

If both improvements worked, we could get 56680 points in part 2, so we could finish this part with 87150 points (if you can include the heckler into the first combo). The combos have to be tested at first though.

I have also one question to SBTC:
Do i have to hit the edge in a special way? I´m asking, because sometimes i hit the edge, but i don´t get launched.

By the way, great find in LOTLD, Cut and good luck with the combo. :)

HH: I never tried converting the Lum from that Hoodblaster, but maybe the higher conversion-range on PC could come in handy here. in the third room, you definetly need a curved shot, optimally you're already walking on the bridge when you get the points for the Hoodblaster. Your idea sounds really compliacted but it's worth trying, since 1260 points is so huge and I doubt that these points will be available anywhere else. Good find in HH3, that's not super fast but consistent and I'm pretty sure we can use that :)

SBTC, yeah... sometimes it works, sometimes not. not much I can say about that, the snowboard is anything but no exact science :(

That Combo for the third room won't work. I've tried it before, and it seems impossible to get to the Yellow Gems in time after killing the Elite Monger.

As for the idea for the second room, I've thought about that as well; I haven't tested it myself, but I guess there'd be some issues with the duration of the HMF. But maybe it's worth a shot, now that PC-Players have almost realistic chances to get a new maximum. ;)

I'm currently playing LOTLD again... just out of curiosity, what is the biggest Combo in Part 3 you guys know?

It's possible to combo the Tribelle in the 2nd room for 2500 on PC, video will follow later this night or tomorrow. For LOTLD3, the biggest combo I know is your combo on youtube where you take both matuvus.

hey folks. my name is mirage and my mothers tongue is polish but i live in a german host family. i bought rayman 3 in 2006 and found this thread last year when i was looking for music and browsed the forums. didnt really feel like introducing myself but i installed rayman 3 for fun and improved my scores over the past months. please dont take personally but you guys seemed a little scaring to me thats why i waited with posting here but i hope you are all friendly. there are mry scores

fc 38201
cf 109789
bom: 88999
lotld 121099
dotk 109789
ls 41650
sbtc 105011
hh 109009
totl 107404

830951

fc is fine for me, as long as i have so many levels to play i don't fell like playing. cf i need to look into all that stuff with this glitch, there were so many videos in the recent past that it was too confusing to me to get started here. bom is fine, was really lucky there with the shotgun-guy aka razzof. lotld seems to be improvable (?) but i have to look at this trick where you go through the wall. hope its not too hard. same with dotk. could get 110000 poits there but dont know if i can do the trick. ls was very messy, i got many shoe hits but not the matuvu. im too bad for these id say. i might still go for 43000 here but please no 9 shoe hits. sbtc could be worth, doing a 7500 combo with the green gem is a lot of points. hh is okay (you guys are talking about hh very much, is 109009 not the maximum anymore?), totl i tried some combos with the infinite powerup glitch but did not get very far. i had 62000 after part 1 and did the obvious stuff in part 2. how many points do you get there?

im experience with this type of gaming so i learned in rayman 3 really fast. scoring system and some glitches are hard to understand for me in the beginning but i think i understood now. took a look into your ranking, 830951 is a really good score i feel. wonder how long other people take to get so much?

is this page official? because your ranking works like an official one but you dont look like ubisoft

Mirage: Hello and welcome to the forum.

It´s quite an impressive total score you have.

It’s hard to say how long players in general use to reach such a score. If they play by themselves without outside input I’d guess a few years. But since so many combos and tricks are to be found on YouTube these days I guess the process of improving scores can be speeded up.

This is not the official UbiSoft Rayman site, but it’s by far the best and most comprehensive one. We have a very active community and you should really take a look around. The Hall of Fame uses the same algorithm as was used in RaymanZone, the official UbiSoft Rayman site.

As for your level scores, yes, the maximum score in HH is still 109.009/109.209 points. It is not clear if a new maximum score can be reached. It seems to depend on two things at the moment, namely the Lums glitch and the ability to get the Heckler in combo for 2.500 points in part 2. If you have both working for you, I believe a new maximum might be possible. However, it's a work in progress.

In TOTL you mentioned the IPG, did you use the IPG in part 2 to reach 107.404 points?

You picked a good time to join this topic as dormant players are now returning from other duties to play R3 again. I’m ready to fire up my old Xbox and start practicing.

Cut: Good job improving LOTLD

What better excuse to re-play this beautiful level? :D

1234: Good to see you active again. Cool video from HH3.

Welcome to the forum. It's always nice to see someone else who wants to compete for a good Score, and yours is really good as well. ;)

109.789 in CF can be beaten even without the SJs in Part 1. The Maximum without either SJs or IPGs should be ~117k-118k at the moment, since the SJs should win something like 5k.

Also, let me assure you that this trick in LOTLD Part 5 is quite easy. At first, I was worried, too, but it turned out easier than expected. Going by my experience, your success rate is pretty high if you run into the wall, then head for the corner, and just jump up. The (by now) various ways of playing the Combos are sometimes difficult to manage, because the Shock Rocket doesn't last very long, but 122k shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Of course, what you do about LS is your choice, but I for one would rather try to get a better Score in FC first. I was lucky enough to get the Matuvu for 1.000 Points in Combo after just 10 minutes of trying, but when I played LS again, I couldn't do it; I would say that LS is definitely a candidate for the title of the most frustrating level. Also, 41.650 is pretty decent, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Although the third part is a pain, I would recommend playing SBTC for sure. DTUCC has made a video which shows how to do an extra kickflip, which comes in quite handy when you don't want to go for the Launching Glitch immediately. It certainly makes things a bit easier.

A new Maximum in HH should certainly be possible by now, at least for console players. Even if you can't get the Heckler in Combo in Part 2, if you play everything else perfectly, you should be able to at least pass 109.209. But since your Score is 109.009, I'm assuming that you play on PC, right?

I have not deeply investigated the IPG in TOTL2, but I can tell you that you can get more than 70k Points after Part 1. It's incredibly difficult though.

thank you mandm81 and maz

i assumed that you can get really hich points in cf even without the glitch stuff but when its there why not use it. but there is still many new stuff to learn because for 109789 you dont need all the things you found this year (?). something to do after christmas id say.

thank you for the sbtc video, i didnt know this yt channel. interesting, is it really that hard? the video looks rather easy

hh is something i save for later, great level but 109009 were already not so easy. playing perfectly sounds super hard.

i also didnt deeply investigate totl 2nd part because imo the combos you do there are simple. just use that you can fly around everywhere, i guess i dont play optimal (cant figure out because i didnt found videos) but i got around 45000 points in this part. hope thats not bad. worst thing is this lava tower, you can lock yourself into the first big room. but i paid attention and could still do it.

70000 after part 1 sounds very much. i watched your videos in 1st part but i didn expect that these give you 70000 already because i only had 62000
