Ye, most of the levels in the first half are supposed to require backtracking on a normal playthrough. If you just wait until you have the running power, though, you only have to do so once.Maz wrote:Rayman 1: The very first level, was it called "Blue Lagoon"? Well, hate is maybe too strong of a word, but I didn't really like the fact that you had to play it so many times to get all the god damn Cages.
Rayman level you hate most?

He's back in black, baby!
Re: Rayman level you hate most?
Haruka makes it look so easy. It's also the level I hate the most, probably the only one in the entirety of RO and RL where I had to retry it at least 50 times so I could save the third teensie.emshomar wrote:This evilness:

Managing to go under 40 secs is very hard. I remember having to retry the level because I was trying to go so fast that I was missing at least one toad in the second room as he wouldn't appear fast enough for me to kill me right on the spot.
THE HAAAAATE!
Re: Rayman level you hate most?
As much as the level was such a pain in the buns at first, I love all the Invaded levels. In fact, I love the "Invasion" idea whole! It was a really interesting concept!

I don't like swimming and flying moskitoes on a keyboard, very hard to be precise when swimming quickly through obstacles, and it's difficult to orientate myself when flying. However, keyboard or controller, nothing matches Invaded Infiltration Station, I've never beaten it solo.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
It is the Anguish Lagoon. I don't think it was that hard to collect the cages over there. You can get everything in a single backtrack once you have the necessary powers.
@emshomar and saerleiya Oh Polokus, that Invaded level is the worst for me in Rayman Legends. I remember I had to do lots and lots of attempts in order to manage to save all the 3 Teensies inside the time. It is really difficult when you don't know the order of appearance of the enemies and the level structures.
@Plum One of the levels I dislike most too but in here it is because of how difficult it is to perfect it (Getting the Lums Medal) in single-player. I remember when I did my first gameplay in it, I had to do a break at a point before I was smashing something.

Wasn't the first area Pink Plant Woods, followed by Anguish Lagoon?

Yes it is.

DON'T SHOOT THE DJ!
I hate this level so much. The not so frequent checkpoints, how the enemies are placed, and it's a dang moskito level to top it all up.

Yeah, it's not great, I think I got lucky with that level on my recent playthrough.

Re: Rayman level you hate most?
Eat at Joe's, yes. And... Pencil Pentathlon, I think, before I figured out you had to do exactly nothing to get past a lot of pencils. Not fly, not jump, not run, not stop, nothing. Also, Mr. Dark's Dare, maybe. The Hard Rocks contains some confusing-ish places, but isn't that annoying.
For Rayman 2, the Echoing Caves and the Iron Mountains just don't appeal to me, but I don't dislike them. In fact, the Iron Mountains has grown on me.
In Rayman 3, definitely the Longest Shortcut.

Re: Rayman level you hate most?
Not that I really dislike these ones but Wind or Lose and Skyward Sonata from Origins were one of the most boring levels of the game. Most of the levels of Gourmand Land take the award though.

Re: Rayman level you hate most?
I found myself disliking the icy Gourmand Land levels much more in Back to Origins than the original. Is it just me, or does the Legends version of the engine make the sliding mechanics much more awkward?
Re: Rayman level you hate most?
As far as I remember I did not feel any difference in the physics. What annoyed me most was the Back to Origins addition itself. For players who played Origins before it felt quite of a repetitiveness torture. Sadly it was what it happened to the community here, since we were litterally forced to nearly replay an entire game that we cleared 2 years before. It is really not justifiable. It would have been better the inclusion of completely new levels for the Livid Dead Party.

Re: Rayman level you hate most?
Sadly, Rayman Legends overall was a pretty short game
(when you take away back to origins and the rage-inducing invasion levels atleast...)
