- Woke up exhausted this morning.
- Woke up to a text from my girlfriend, she's severely depressed, being abused by her mother, something I can relate to.
- feels useless because I can't help my girlfriend because it's a long distance relationship... and it feels awful knowing that.
- So yea, I'm worried sick about my girlfriend.
- and just a few minutes ago I was sick, with no idea why.
- and no money for food, electricity, heating internet, etc.

fun times.

Sugar wrote:That "change your personality" might be good for your change, but, of course, "be like you're", I think, you should stop everything and told them what you feel inside you, because if you don't say it, it's ugly to never say what you feel and in the future, you will be even older, and you will spent days or weeks or months thinking that you never had a happy life because you never confronted them, because of fear, but that fear doesn't exist, because there isn't anything to fear of, they're your parents Keane, not a bunch of unknow guys on the street.
But it's not that simple - They won't just take it. I've already done this before, made it as clear as possible, and nothings changed. Yeah, they were trying to understand and be comforting, and then right when you almost think they've got your point, they do something to make sure that they absolutely don't. They don't understand mental illness because there's nothing to physically see or anything to show them how it hurts me. I've stayed home over having a bad cold, yet I could have a full breakdown and they'd still drop me of in front of the building.

It feels like an easily fixed problem to them: If you don't know anyone, just talk more. If you have problems feeling comfortable with yourself, just be more positive. It's an attempt at being helpful, and I appreciate that, but it's not helping. My mother has actually said that she "lost patience with me" and put it in a way as if though I'm not trying and if I had just listened to her, things would be different. Then I decided to fully drop the topic forever, and now it's back to criticising me for being quiet as if though this whole thing never happened.

They're not bad people, or even abusive, or anything like that, but they are extremely ignorant about how they act towards other people. Yesterday both of them actually complained that I don't always join them in what they eat because of my diet. Yeah. That is an actual thing they think is bad about me. "You always drink water." For fucks sake.

I'm glad your baby is at rest now...

Also, I should have looked a bit further back over this topic. And then I should have double-checked which topic I looked back over. This was a waste of an edit.

Aaaah, the sweet act of comparing oneself to people who do great things like this. Of course, it's somewhat depressing because you don't feel like you can do things as amazing as this.

I have a big conviction I'm trying to follow as much as I can: everyone here on Earth has something special only a few others have, they simply need to find it, make it grow and flourish, and be proud of it. Even if it seems not that great, it can help you feel better about yourself. You can see these things as "hidden talents", things you can start to do or make at an already good level.

Sure, these kids can dance and make moves with ease, but they probably trained a bit for that, and they probably had already a talent for this. Most of the time, it's also hard to push children to train and nurture things they are naturally good at doing, so parents/tutors have a good role in this too (okay, not the most perfect example, but if the Jacksons were that good at dancing/singing when they were young and after that, and that Michael and Janet had a great career, it's also due to their father pushing them, sometimes very hard, when they were very young).

Personnally, I found myself to be good at massaging people's back. Seems weird, huh? But it's actually nice to hear people thanking you because you relieved some stress in their back after only 5 minutes and that the next day they say they are not hurt anymore. And I hadn't done anything about massage before.

Best advice I could give if you think you are not talented at doing something would be to try and fail a few times (or maybe even more). Just because I wasn't good at sports didn't stop from trying new ones, even when I knew some people around me would be better at it for various reasons. Okay, it's always easier to do so when you have a few friends to back you up and encourage you if you are having a hard time, but do not lose hope and persevere.

Ha, I'm having the feeling I made a big fuss out of something which isn't that big. :oops2:

Okay, back on topic!

+ Starting to work tomorrow morning. It's going to be a wild adventure, I have no idea of how I'm going to handle this, but well...
+ All my stuff, or almost all of it, is already in my new little flat, 60 kms away from my parents' house. My first very personal place <3!
- I will have to unpack everything ASAP, considering I have only one big room, and that now it's full of big, ugly boxes, and baggages. I'm getting lazy all of a sudden...
-- No Internet connection for two weeks. I won't be able to either Skype a lot with my GF, or play some sweet video games after work. Man, this situation SUUUUUUUUCKS!
- Leaving (definitely) in roughly thirty minutes. Well, I guess it's for the best ;)...

Considering dance is my chosen career, I'll have to agree with that.
I would think that fego would not be something kids are 'trained' in. From what I understand, it's looked on quite poorly in Egyptian society. This little girl, on the other hand... incredible, but I hate to think of the pressure she's under.

Wow, you've got everything going on at once! That's so exciting - well, not the lack of internet, but everything else! Best of luck bro.

Additionally, it turns out builder's post was, in fact, in this thread. I'm really feeling for you, as well as your girlfriend. :( Do you have a financial safety net if you're not able to make payment?

+ My Jano rig is complete! Save for rigged facial animation, which I'll be tackling extremely shortly, he can jump and dance and ... be Jano! There will be a video up in due time, as soon as I've fixed the weighting on some of his bones so his upper body doesn't tear the lower half of his body straight off when he jumps lel

- I have a report to work on and I don't feel it's actually that much work, but it seems like a big mental wall that's standing in front of me.

- I have that outlook on a lot of things that in the end aren't really that hard, but seem daunting as long as I haven't started working on them. If I'd just buckle down and do it, I know I'd be done within no time.

+ I have this realisation, which makes it easier to actually start and buckle down and do it.

- I wish I didn't have that trait. It's something I inherited... yes, character traits are also genetic (of course of course what isn't, right [/microBiologistLifeScientistSelf-reflectiveCynicism])

+ I feel relatively not-shit compared to how shitty I've been feeling the last couple of days, despite nothing really being the matter. I'm gonna blame lack of proper food and sleep.

- Someone busted our window on New Year's Eve.

Best of luck to all three of you. OWN THOSE JANUARY EXAMS LIKE CAPITALISTS OWN CAPITAL.

Speaking of capital, ouch Shroopadoop, broken windows are a pain to deal with. Was the rest of the night alright? (I should know but I've conveniently forgotten.) It's good that you feel able to at least makes cracks in that mental wall, it can be really hard to overcome even with full cognition of the 'mental' nature of it. OWN THAT REPORT LIKE THE BOURGEOISIE OWN THE FRUITS OF THE LABOR OF THE PROLETARIAT.

How much funds do you have available? Would forty quid a month hurt you much? It's also nice to expand your knowledge in certain fields like boxing instead of focussing down on dancing only. But focussing down can make you more of a specialist, which is good for some people and really shitty for those who don't get the position (who are then left out of other fields because they're too specialised). But maybe that's just how the scientific world works - not sure about the dancing scene. Both your options have certain merits, which I'm sure you see yourself, too...

What I usually do for tough choices is start to list all the positives and negatives of each choice side by side and compare critically, give it a night's rest, look at the points again the next day and see if I can make a somewhat more rationalised decision. The night's rest is a crucial part of it - you do a whole lot of thinking when your concious mind is out in dreamland. So much RAM available not spent on observing your surroundings and your active thoughts - so much raw power to dedicate to the throbbing of your thought-muscles!

Oh you know just what to say

See, both of those would be diversifying - I do Arabic dance. The purpose of this is less 'specialisation vs. broad knowledge', more 'which one enhances my body in a way that enables me to do what I want while still not putting me in the red'. Contemporary would develop my whole body, plus spatial awareness, in a way boxing never could. But I also want to punch things and have killer arms that make all the girls want me and all the men weep. To be honest, the best option for crosstraining is really Pilates, but I find it so damn boring.
As for money, well, I'm unemployed and unlikely to have anything more than casual jobs for a while yet. So that's a major factor. Doing the contemporary class will involve sacrificing a lot of other things.

++ But hey, I think I've made my mind up, so nyeh :P Rambert it is! (Incidentally my mumsie danced for them, ain't that cute)

Well, £11 per week sounds really cheap compared to what I'd expect it to cost, so I'd take it up. :mryellow:
