Because it's only fair to distribute freely to those who purchased both versions of the game. Mewtwo wasn't included because of time constraints, you're thinking of the Miiverse stage. Mewtwo was just an addition that came afterwards. It's understandable that Mewtwo is purchasable DLC because why should the consumers who only bought one version get Mewtwo for free?

Actually I don't understand it at all. The way you're saying it, it sounds like you're basically saying
"If Mewtwo was free DLC for everyone, I would be disappointed because I bought two copies of the game and people who only bought one sould pay more money".
I'm not sure if it's just your wording, but that's what it sounded like. I would agree, however, if your point was something like
"I think people who bought both copies should not have to pay extra for Mewtwo, having already paid a large sum of money"

Anyway, I still think they should have included him in the game in the first place. I disagree with DLC unless it's something they couldn't possibly add in the first place. Look at Portal 2's DLC, they added extra stuff but they didn't make us pay extra for it, and Nintendo is much, much bigger than Valve.
In my opinion, it should just be free DLC for everyone. The Smash Bros. Gamecube controller should have had direct compatibility with the Wii U instead of having to use the bloody adapter, and the Wii U should have had GC controller ports, but no. They had to make an incredibly expensive adapter that they knew would be in high demand...

The Mewtwo DLC is probably going to be really expensive too...

That was kinda the selling point for Nintendo to encourage those who bought the 3DS version to buy the WiiU one : "If you buy both, you get Mewtwo for free. Hurray!!"

It would feel like a betrayal to those who were hooked by this argument if Mewtwo is released for free, wouldn't it?

(But in all fairness, it will feel like a betrayal to everyone when people realize that Mewtwo is, at its core, a Lucario clone. Which will make people remember that Lucario was a Mewtwo clone in the first place)

Does anyone know anyhing about Mario Maker like when it's coming out? It looks so good!
It looks like a mix of my childhood memories of making my own Mario levels in Mario flash games with level editors, and one of my favorite games of all time, Mario Paint.

My reason is solid about the Mewtwo DLC and I shouldn't care all that much since Mewtwo doesn't even seem all that great.

At least the consumers who bought the two versions also get the Soundtrack for both both games. Really hope they put the DK tracks since they are some of the best songs in the games.

Mario Maker has no initial release date as of now. But Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is coming out on February 13 for North America and January 22 for Japan.

Most off your predictions were spot-on, also got some info about the new 3DS, which'll be one to buy when I can.

Seems like Metroid Prime Trilogy is about to become a lot less rare, not enough to coax me into getting a Wii U, but having downloadable Wii titles like that could prove to be a clever move. Kinda wish they went all-out and made a full HD remake of it, as opposed to merely rereleasing it digitally, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

There's just so much to buy in such a limited window of time. I know for sure I really want Mario Party 10 because it looks like a perfect entry to the Mario Party franchise. Majora's Mask 3D is my game of the month to purchase for February. The New 3DS may have to wait since I can't just blow my money just like that, although I still want to upgrade.

Splatoon is just getting more impressive! The gameplay is just so fun and we've only got glimpses of it! The game reminds me of TF2 with it's set of 3 weapons and cosmetics. And the cosmetics actually affect your stats on your Inkling. Splatoon is definitely a Day One purchase for me.

YES!!! Finally region free hack. It also works with latest firmware. Gonna be using it on old 3DS while new 3DS won't be hacked.

I doubt it'll be very expensive, and even if it is I will still throw my money at it.
I was also considering getting Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, but didn't know if i was good or not. Anyone have it, and have any opinions?

Yeah, I've played a few levels so far, and it's a lot of fun. I'd really enjoyed the captain toad sections from 3D world, and for 30 quid it was definitely worth it.
