Re: [Book] The History of Rayman, Pix'n Love Editions.
I knew I couldn't trust in luck so I pre-ordered as soon it appeared in the site. I'm so glad I did it.

Me too, although I'll most likely be ordering the English version as well, since I don't understand French that well

The English version definitely didn't come out yet right?
Re: [Book] The History of Rayman, Pix'n Love Editions.
No. It might be quicker to learn french than to wait for the english version to come outsyntheticgerbil wrote:The English version definitely didn't come out yet right?

So English version might not even come in 2015 at all but in next years?
Re: [Book] The History of Rayman, Pix'n Love Editions.
I don't think so: the book is not that hard to translate into English. The vocabulary is not that of a Shakespeare's one (meaning you don't have tons of very idiomatic words and expressions). I'm not saying Guarné didn't write the book in basic French, but to me it shouldn't be that hard to be translated.
I'd probably think about a translation available for the second semester of 2015, provided Pix considers it worth the investment (but I guess they will, as they probably sent a good amount of them to foreign countries, even with the language barrier).
The only issues would be that:
a) Pix has a lot of other projects they want to focus on right now.
b) The book still has a lot of content for them to translate, so even if they already found a translator, it will be take a few months before they would give an official announcement about the official release of the English version.

Like Saerleiya said, Pix has other projects that will be release during 2015 ; very important ones. I've been writing on two of them (one being dedicated to the SEGA Dreamcast).
Regarding The History of Rayman, it's not just about translating. It's a bit more complicated than that. But I know some english readers are waiting for it. I just hope they won't wait TOO long.

Re: [Book] The History of Rayman, Pix'n Love Editions.
Exactly. I will keep waiting, since I am interested in the normal edition in English and I don't mind supporting a second time.

Absolutely 'collector' this presentation of the first Rayman in Micro Kid's (with youngs Ancel, Houde, Hascoët & co), a french tv show which was kind of 'famous' back in the days.

Wow, what a gem of a video!
We can see some drawings done first in pencil and some workers using their software to edit sprites and levels. It is a video I must download once I return home, to later include in RayMedia.

Re: [Book] The History of Rayman, Pix'n Love Editions.
If anyone would like, I could start working on an unofficial translation. Would anyone be up for that? I wouldn't scan anything, so there wouldn't be pictures, but you could at least read what it says.
Re: [Book] The History of Rayman, Pix'n Love Editions.
Please do it, I would be so greatful. I can't read a thing in that book.

You'd be willing to do that? I'd be very grateful if so.

Cheers mate!
I would suggest .doc file for posting. There is option to attach file in full editor

Hmm...seems I'm not able to attach a .doc file, it's not one of the "allowed" formats....OldClassicGamer wrote:Cheers mate!

What about docx?
