Is this game coming to America? I thought it was exclusive to Japanese arcades.

It very likely will.

It's the same deal with Tekken games, releases in Japan only for a good 2-4 months to test thin waters, if it goes well they port it to America for consoles.

Awesome! I'm honestly not a fan of Tekken or other games similar to it, but for the Pokemon franchise it makes complete sense. I'd buy it because of that.

I stopped watching the Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire play-through on YouTube a little while back. I watched all the way up to the league. Idk about anybody else, but I find too much Pokemon in one stint can be a little wearing, and you have to have quite a big break from it again till you can appreciate it again. I think I just got jaded with it. I want to go back and watch the after game stuff, although I did watch the Delta episode... It'll be cool to see the Regi's being caught. Idk, I just go through pokephases. Someone needs to put my interest in a masterball!!!!

I'm so glad to see Game Freak tackle something different rather than the usual Pokémon puzzle spinoff or Mystery Dungeon, whether you're a Tekken fan or not, this is REALLY, REALLY, interesting, and I'm hyped as fuck for it.
I'm interested to see this game being ported to Wii U in future. I'm not a fan of Tekken but I would like to explore this gameplay in Pokémon form. I already like to play with Pokémon in the Smash Bros series so... :D

Yeah, Pokken. I can't wait for this game to break me just like Soul Calibur, DBZ Tenkaichi and Street Fighter.

So yeah, no hype from me. Although it would be interesting to see how fast Wobbuffet is banned from competitive play.

I really need to open up and play Alpha Sapphire. I've been waiting to finish X first but I have yet to do that.

Looking back at Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, while great games I was pretty disappointed. Aside from making everything easier the games felt more linear, which honestly ruined the astonishing atmosphere of Hoenn for me. And sometimes I think they changed a little TOO much. Remember, this game is a remake, I only expect to see a few changes in towns aside from the updated graphics. They completely changed Mauville city and I really am not a fan of this new version of Mauville City, it was changed way too much. They even got rid of the casino and the battle frontier. Why remove features? It's for these reasons I really lost interest in OR and AS, both great games by all means but playing them simply makes me want to go back to Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

Now the Majoras Mask remake... THAT is something to look forward too

They took out the Battle Frontier? That was arguably the most fun part for me.

Not only that, but the storytelling in RSE and ORAS differs even though the story is somewhat the same : in RSE the game makes you feel like an adventurer (like every other Pokémon), but in ORAS you feel like you're the chosen one destined to save the world. It does it really well, I give it that, but as a result, you really do feel overpowered at the end of the game.

I don't really understand what is it with Nintendo removing features for remakes or just newer installments of games, the battle mode in Mario Kart 8 was so fucking bad, they could've just ported some of the older battle stages instead of using the race tracks.

Let us remember that Game Freak makes Pokemon and Nintendo only licenses them to be exclusive to their consoles.

As for ORAS I don't think the change was that drastic, then again I say that unless the game literally looks like a new game then it's clearly not a remake. The point of remakes are to expand on the story which I think ORAS did a fair job on that one....if we only look as RS but i'll be talking Emerald issues in a few. Honestly i'd call it a rip of a game if they literally just sold RS with updated graphics and gameplay mechanics as opposed to trying to freshen up and expand on the game's story (while allowing it to still be recognisable, which it is, especially when you look back on RS and see how thin the story was).

I will agree with the Mauvile change as while I understand they wanted a "big city" in the games I don't see why they needed it to be a literal mall and instead just have a large city with a shopping mall. The casino thing however is not their fault, I do believe it has to do with the strict gambling laws in international countries, especially Europe, it's also why they changed the Game Corner in HGSS as well as not having a casino like building in the new games (Looking at this specifically though it is a pity they didn't try to make a mini game like in HGSS for the game corner).

As for Battle Frontier it just reminds me of the lack of Emerald features in general and i'm aware that the "Delta Episode" is supposed to be a stand in for a few of Emerald's features (Rayquazza as part of the story, vs champ Wallace, and so forth) but it hardly felt like it was filling in for Emerald at all. Of course this is RS they're trying to remake here and some of the features are hard to try and blend into the game, but it still leaves a bitter taste in your mouth if you're like me and consider Emerald to be the favourite, or even if you only played Emerald.

Eh that was a bit more lengthy/ranty than intended but that comment just didn't sit right with me.

EDIT : I suppose the main thing here is that ORAS does fine in expanding on RS but when it comes to other features especially Emerald ones it's just rather "eeeh".

If I can do a big complain, is the lack of Restaurants in ORAS of the kinds of XY. I know there is one in Mauvile but... a fight per day. Are you kidding me, GameFreak? Thanks to this, the task of grinding Pokémon for the Dex conclusion got much more tedious and slower than in XY. The restaurants like Le Wow offered unlimited battles and they were even giving fancy Mushrooms that allowed you to make some quick cash. There are the Blissey secret bases, but again, one battle per day per trainer. Godness. And I still have around 200 Pokémon to get. This will surely take a good while.

The big problem I had with OR and AS was that I didn't FEEL like I was playing a remake. I felt like I was playing something new, this isn't exactly a bad thing, but I'm simply stating they really changed a little too much. (I'd also like my 3D grannies Game Freak)

When I played Fire Red, I knew I was playing a remake. When I was playing Heart Gold, I knew I was playing a remake. Omega Ruby caught me off guard so many times and eventually I was reminded this was a Hoenn remake.

Cutting features out in what is a remake really is unacceptable and I do wish people would stop giving Game Freak free passes for this.

Hoenn is my favorite region, so as you'd expect, I do view it very critically. Overall it's just my preference, but I know others who do feel the same way.

I understand your frustration, I also don't appreciate the lack of Battle Frontier in the remake.

Leaf Green and SoulSilver were fantastic remakes, those are among the Pokémon games I spent more hours playing. In the latter I managed to complete de Pokédex but for LG's case I think I would need to afford an ActionReplay for the effect.

Gen 3 really was a golden time for Pokemon, not only did we get Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, but two incredible remakes of Blue and Red, along with two new action packed adventure on the GameCube.

I need some help from Pokémon ORAS+XY players. I am 10 Pokémon away to fully complete my Pokédex, and all of them require evolutionary items. I am looking for players that own the items I need and do not mind to trade me them for other evolutionary items I have that I do not need.

I look for:

2x Sun Stone
1x Electrizer
1x Dubious Disc
1x Shiny Stone

I can trade:

1x King's Rock
1x Whipped Dream
1x Prism Scale
5x Fire Stone
1x Oval Stone
1x Water Stone

I would be quite thanked for your help!
