Re: Rayman in Concert
I think the Flood is one of the best, although they've all got some amazing bits in them.
Re: Rayman in Concert
All of these are completely amazing! I am looking forward to the complete album.

Re: Rayman in Concert
Writing this as I'm listening.
The exposition is wonderful. It has a great suspense, some Fairy Council-esque vibes but the melodies of Rayman 2. There's some great dark piano tones in there. The transition to what evolves into the main Front theme is somewhat sudden, but not bad. I like the blend with the Woods of Light theme here. The direction it then goes in, reminding me somewhat of the Guardian battles - dark, suspense-filled, excellently built up. The hints at the sad melodies throughout are well-hidden. I like how it then blends into the Cave of Bad Dreams. The Sanctuary of Water Ice has one of my favourite themes in it. Hearing it appear was a great joy. The blend into Whale Bay is superb.
However, the transition to the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire was somewhat abrupt. But - the sudden movement dissolves in the music that follows thereafter. Nice catch, but I'd have preferred a more subtle transition.
Ha! Suddenly, you switch over to riding Ssssam. Ai lijk verrie muts
The switching of parts between instruments is pretty grand. I like what you've done with the melodies sometimes too. They're somewhat darker and mysterious.
Then there's a gap. A new movement in the piece? Pretty cool. And there's the Sanctuary of Water and Ice again! And... it ends? Oh, that's the end credits of the video.
I liked trying to figure out what theme was going to be mixed in next. It helps that you follow the game's chronology, but the surprising subthemes make it harder (and a lot more fun to listen to).
Overall, a great composition mixing a lot of themes from Rayman 2. I tip my non-existent hat, sir!
PS
Would've loved to hear the second half of the game mixed in there too, but what you made is grand in its own right. Gud jawb and keep doing a gud jawb so my ears can smile like they did just now.

The fun fact is I didn't make it chronological on purpose :')Shrooblord wrote:It helps that you follow the game's chronology, but the surprising subthemes make it harder (and a lot more fun to listen to).
Oh, and did you spot Ly's theme in the fairy beginning? (pun intended). I changed it a bit, but it's basically the melody your hear in the glockenspiel.
And thanks for your commentary! I really do appreciate it!

I would definitely donate if I had the chance. I hadn't even seen your other work when I posted last, but I seriously do appreciate the hard work that's gone into these!

Re: Rayman in Concert
Well, seeing as Imco said he earns money off of his YouTube account and that he doesn't accept direct donations, why not pay a visit to his YT to pay him that way?
I read a beautiful quote once from someone who doesn't accept donations:

Sleeper Service wrote:Oh wow money... yeah I'm not really interested in that stuff. Also CE is just a mod, It couldn't exist without vanilla FTL, that is where the credit should go. I'm just mashing up some xmls and sprites here and I already gained a lot (in the form of fun) by making it. But if the mod gave you a good time, if you have money to spare and if you want to make me happy, consider donating to a local NGO in your area in exchange for the joy you had with CE. Maybe one that deals with drug prevention, social-equality or woman’s rights.Mandrake wrote:I just signed up to say 'Thanks!' for this incredible mod. It's awesome.Do you take donations via Paypal perhaps? I'd love to send you a few dollars.

Wow, that is a beautiful quote. I'd never have thought I'd run into one of those, especially on the internet...

It has been since a while since my last post but I heard everything and I seriously love it! Funny enough some instruments that you use have got a Croc: Legend of the Gobbos vibe, since Justin Scharvona used some identical musical instruments for his compositions.
