Just so I have a point of reference, can you tell me/link me to the last time this happened? I have a feeling my 2013-esque personality has bled through others' memories a bit too strongly.rolesfamily wrote:Adsolution: Ad, my personal suggestion to you would be to perhaps work on how you initially come across to newer members. I sort of feel that there is a quite a stiff (oh baby) defensive wall up from you, and it can come across as a bit harsh at times. I'd almost say intimidating!
Hey, I was close to talk even more about that particular encounter, but well, it's going into the 'personal' area (may I say ROFL?).Adsolution wrote:Thanks sae.
Considering that half of the people coming here think it's server where you can throw pointless arguments about shallow subjects in public topics (and, of course, not in PMs) at the beginning, Ad's reaction, although being sometimes a bit direct, is actually quite normal as he is a mod. Not meaning the others don't do their job, but the only drawback of Ad' in his attitude is that he has a smaller tolerance to this kind of behaviour compared to other mods (aside from Deslife who can destroy somebody on the spot, but he prefers to do that on the French part of the forum).rolesfamily wrote:Adsolution: Ad, my personal suggestion to you would be to perhaps work on how you initially come across to newer members. It's not a problem for me, it's entirely up to you what you want to share.saerleiya wrote:Hey, I was close to talk even more about that particular encounter, but well, it's going into the 'personal' area (may I say ROFL?).
Well, Gwee and Spanex are my ROTD crew, whereas Shroob and Rulez are my musical crew, which are two moreorless unrelated projects.saerleiya wrote:You and Gwee. And Shroob'...huh, that's a lot.
I'm a little confused as to what direction I want to take with the way I deal with certain situations. I'm thoroughly in support of the intellectually-crafted non-aggression principle when it comes to parenting, but am I supposed to "parent" members here? Not really. But would it be ideal if one could solve every problem through calm, genuinely understanding speech? Probably, so why don't I always take that route?saerleiya wrote:Considering that half of the people coming here think it's server where you can throw pointless arguments about shallow subjects in public topics (and, of course, not in PMs) at the beginning, Ad's reaction, although being sometimes a bit direct, is actually quite normal as he is a mod. I wouldn't be that harsh, personnally, but you can't blame him for being that direct from time to time. It's for their own good, you know.

Uh, it wasn't only about ROTD, you know...more about RPC members.Adsolution wrote:Well, Gwee and Spanex are my ROTD crew, whereas Shroob and Rulez are my musical crew, which are two moreorless unrelated projects.
It doesn't mean you can't be an ass sometimes. You'll just be reminded you were an ass, and that it wasn't very appropriate for the situation, but that's it...maybe?Adsolution wrote:But would it be ideal if I could solve every problem through calm, genuinely understanding speech?
