Rayman soundtrack samples

Post by Sloggy »

Hey guys, I found something pretty interesting and I'm not too sure if it's widely known but i came across a sound library that contains sound samples used in tracks from various Rayman games. The Library is called "Distorted Reality 2" by Spectrasonics.

You can definitely hear a lot of The Longest Shortcut's samples in the first 30 seconds or so, but the library also contains various samples used in Rayman 2 as well.
Just thought I'd share, i find these kinds of things very interesting! :mryellow:

Spectrasonics's Distorted Reality and Distorted Reality 2 Darkness & Light are respectively two FX and Ambient CD/Albums both released in 1996, surely Ubisoft's developers have taken some inspiration from that.
Also the first 16 seconds of Rayman 2's The Tomb Of The Ancients OST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnaDIYmdqL4 taken sample by Behold The Darkness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HzxVNKFcMg released on 1999's CD/Album Comet by Medwyn Goodall.
Although in that level Rayman 2 taken objectively inspiration from A Saucerful Of Secrets (from the 1968's namesake Album) by Pink Floyd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLW0n2sLCG4 as the rest the Rayman 2's soundtrack is entirely based on the initial Pink Floyd's discography.
